He admired my reaction as I was finally quiet and motionless. He liked getting under my skin, this upset me greatly. Who was he to control me like this? He's just a pretty tall boy with glasses, nothing else. He distanced himself away from me, satisfied with his work. Fixing his glasses, he went towards the door.
"I can't wait to see what more is in store for us, Yuki." He smirked, leaving me alone in silence.
Not even caring if he was still near, I hissed. "Curse him!" Pounding my fist into the soft blankets, I felt tears near the corners of my eyes. "Fuck you!" I yelled.
How dare you control me! Never ever will I let him do that to me again, no one is allowed to make me feel this way. Not some smart ass teen who walks over others. Do you want to play a game Kyoya? Well, I will show you a game you won't forget. I'll entertain you but I'll be the one controlling this stage. I don't care what it takes I will make you fall to your knees!
The next day came in a flash. I was able to hide my injury from Mother as she would have panicked over my ankle. Today, it slightly throbbed if I walked too fast but other than that I was fine. Currently, I was sitting in class with my two 'friends'. We chatted amongst ourselves as we waiting for the bell to ring. The teacher often let us mingle after his lecture. The girl they liked to bully was sitting in the back as normal, trying not to meet eye contact with anyone.
"You know I don't pay attention to those things." She replied.
I could care less about shopping. It wasn't like I got to wear anything I truly wanted. I had to keep my façade going with frilly dresses and overpriced jewelry. People often mistook me for someone much younger based on my appearance. Highschoolers don't wear dresses anymore, they prefer much tighter clothing. Also, whenever I am in public Mother keeps me under a tight lease. Always making sure where I am going and who I am with. If I do not answer within a reasonable time frame she will call the police. She did that once and I plan to not make that same mistake.
Skip thought for a moment then turned to me, "You still want to go, right?"
I sighed, resting on the palm of my hands. "Not really."
"Come on!" She protested, "You never go out."
"I have better things to do in my own time." I lied.
Lina butted in, "You ever since that one time-"
"Hey!" raising my voice, I interrupted her. "Not here in school."
She then proceeded to laugh, "Your mother was so angry with you."
"I honestly was worried about you." Skip smirked.
"Stop lying," I growled. "We both know you thought it was hilarious."
They then both turned towards Rin, who was reading. They leaned into me with devilish expressions, I knew this wasn't going to end well. They then proceeded to grab my wrist and lead me to her, which I didn't fight their grasp. Standing in front of the poor girl, she stiffened but didn't lookup. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and got ready to be in character.
"You know what is funny," Line smirked.
Skip already knew how to fall along, "That she was apart of that day?"
This made me furrow my brows, not directly at her but at the memory of that day.
It was some time ago when I went out with these two monsters. I finally convinced Mother for at the time I wanted to get out of the house badly. I begged for so long because I wasn't allowed anywhere but my room, Mother feared I would slip up in public and someone would find out. However, one day she was quite generous and approved since I was running out of dressed to stuff into my closet. She provided me some funds and trusted I would pick nothing but the most outlandish gowns.
We went to the mall and of course, Mother was constantly texting me and I had to send her pictures of the outfits I tried on. She got to approve if I went home with them or not. By trust me, that was a lie but it made her feel better, thinking it made her a model parent. We went through most of the day without trouble, it was almost time for me to head home when the group saw Rin. She was by herself at a neighboring bookstore. I wanted to ignore her and carry on our way but the two demons could not have that.
It first started with stupid insults on how she was a nerd and who reads for enjoyment. Petty stuff, really but it didn't stop there. They wanted to capture Rin's embarrassment on film so they could always rewatch the moment they bullied her in public. You think someone would have told us to leave her alone, but no one was brave. Hell, I wasn't, I couldn't even pull those two girls away and just leave. I was no better than anyone else. Then Skip and Lina realized they didn't have their phones on me and decided to use mine which I didn't object to until I saw Mother was calling.
Lina snatched the phone and proceeded to laugh at me. "Your mother still calls you, what are you a baby?"
This infuriated me, not only from the insult but at the fact Mother would be pissed if I didn't answer. I tried to grab my phone but Lina evaded my grasp until I managed to yank it but she wasn't prepared for this and my phone went flying into the nearby fountain. Shocked, I screamed out as rushed over to see it sink to the bottom. I was in deep trouble now. Who knew what Mother was going to do.
"Stop freaking out," Lina sighed.
Skip backed her up, "Just make your mother buy you a new one."
"You don't understand." I hissed under my breath.
Rin walked up to us, despite what we just did to her. Her eyes were big with worry over my display of anger. She couldn't stop fumbling with her fingers as she spoke up, "Are you okay?"
I didn't mean to but I was just so upset over everything. I finally got to leave my home and the worst thing had to happen. I ruined the phone Mother gave me and now I wasn't answering her call. The overwhelming sensation of fear washed over me as a plunged my hand into the cold water.
"That's gross!" Skip gagged with her tongue hanging out.
Rin got on her knees and tried to help me but before she could get her hands in the water, I glared at her. "Just leave! You've done enough!" She shot back in surprise then tried not to cry as she got up and ran off. The events that followed didn't make anything better as what seemed like only a few minutes, mall police showed up and caused a scene. What made it even worse was Mother was behind them.
She put on a grand show of worry over her poor 'daughter'. She hugged all over me with tears streaming down her cheeks as other people gathered around to see what was going on. Funny how when people are bullied, no one is to answer but bring in the sweet reunion of mother and child and they come swarming like rats. Some fellow mothers tried to soothe mine and congratulated her on finding me. Skip and Lina was more confused and couldn't understand what was going on. They knew Mother had let me go to the mall, she was perfectly aware where I was.
When we got home was when this whole day turned into hell. As soon as Mother closed the door behind me and I faced her, she struck me across the face. I could only stand there and take it as her face turned bright red. She then went into a yelling rage as she continued to tell me how worried she was and how I embarrassed her as a mother. A good daughter wouldn't be caught in a fountain, a wonderful daughter would answer her mother's call and a great daughter would do whatever she is told. I wanted nothing more than to scream back and explain my innocence but it wouldn't do anything.
Putting a strand of hair behind my ear, I put the memory back into the far corners of my mind. Now, I wasn't stupid and I knew the whole ordeal wasn't Rin's fault. She was just shopping like everyone else that day. The real culprits of that ordeal were Lina and Skip who started the whole thing but I couldn't get back at them for I also didn't stop them from bulling this poor girl. So I was stuck further in this role of being one of her demons.
"I think she should pay Yuki back for ruining the phone," Lina said, putting her hand on Rin's desk.
Skip thought that was a good idea and laughed, "Why, she should!"
"I could use a new one," I smirked, fanning myself with my fingertips. "Or compensation would be nice."
Rin began to tremble slightly, trying hard to focus on her novel. The students around us grew silent but remained to themselves, refusing to be apart of the event before them. They were a bunch of spineless brats. I wanted someone, anyone to stop us. Then I could get an excuse to go back to my desk in peace and hopefully, these two demons could leave me alone.
"Hey." A voice called out.
Furrowing my brows, I looked at the direction of the voice and wanted to disappear. Coming towards us was Haruhi from the Host Club. When did he get here? Why is he here?! Sure, I wanted someone to stop us but not a member of a popular club. This was going to hurt my image and I didn't want that. How was I going to get out of this?
"Haruhi! Welcome to our class!" Skip chirped in, her face flushed.
Lina joined, "We are just talking to our friend Rin."
Rin remained silent, trying not to look at the host member before her. My mouth refused to move, not wanting to say the wrong thing in this situation. Haruhi stopped in front of us and crossed his arms. He knew we were doing something and couldn't help but frown. Only if this boy was as dumb as he looked, but I knew I was going to have to play this off better than the two demons.
Pushing past them I gave Haruhi one of my famous 'princess smiles'. "We were asking her what she was reading, you see I am a reader myself."
"Really?" He wasn't buying it and that pissed me off.
No one has been able to not fall for my smile and this made me grind my teeth. What is up with this guy? "Of course! Do you like reading, Haruhi?"
He ignored me, brushing past my shoulder, and leaned into Rin. "Are you okay?"
How dare this child brush me off?! Who does he think he is? I am the top girl in this school and for him to ignore me for some low-life nerd- I froze over the realization of what I just thought and covered my mouth, trying not to gag. Did I just refer to myself as a woman? Growing pale I couldn't help but grow angrier towards myself and Haruhi.
What is wrong with me?
"I am alright," Rin answered him, her cheeks bright red.
Haruhi smiled softly, "That is good. Don't be afraid to reach out to me if you need help."
She nodded slowly as she tried to accept the realization that a host member was talking to her. Haruhi decided this was his time to leave and didn't give us another word. This left me infuriated and somewhat embarrassed. Not because he caught me in the moment of bullying Rin but because he made my mind a mess. So much has happened lately, surely, I am just tired and need some rest. All these host members are just toying with me, that must be it. Remember, I am the most perfect 'girl' in this school. Nothing will faze me, not some boy in a host club will make me faulter.
