"What about this one?" he pointed to the picture in the newspaper later that afternoon

"I just don't understand why we can't move into my place" she placed her glass down

"Ahh because you have a nosy neighbour"

"So do you"

"Come on, I thought the whole point of moving in together was the fun of finding a place we can call our own" PJ rested his hand on the back of her chair

"Okay.. well what about this one" she pointed to another picture

"Interesting four bedrooms planning on having a big family are we Mags"

"Very funny" she nudged him slightly "I'm thinking more like a spare for when your Mum and hopefully one day my Dad will visit, separate times of course"

"But that leaves two other spare rooms"

"Hmm so it does" she grinned slightly when he leaned across

"Should we get in some practise now?" he teased kissing her cheek

"We could but then that wouldn't leave much fun for the first night in the new house would it"

"Well that's the one then" he moved back looking at the black and white picture of a house with a wraparound veranda

"Really?"

"Looks perfect to me"

"You don't want to look at any others or…"

"Mags if you love it I love it, the real question is who's going to call Celia Donald?"

"Oh not me" she held her hands up

"Every time I talk to her she tries to set me up on a date with someone" PJ shook his head

"She does not"

"She does too! Last time it was her Niece"

"Well how about you tell her that your moving in with another woman who knows how to use a gun" she patted his leg

"Ohh that could work" he laughed when she arose from the table

"Another drink?" she motioned to the bar

"Thanks".

Stopping next to the bar Maggie smiled when Chris made her way over

"You two look pretty cosy"

"Do we?"

"So everything's sorted?" Chris motioned filling up another to OJ's for them

"There's still a few things that need to be discussed but yeah I think they are"

"Well I'm glad to hear it"

"Look Chris.. about not calling back…"

"Don't even bring it up you're here now" Chris placed the fresh glasses in front of her

"Sure" she smiled sadly holding out the $5 note

"Oh no don't worry about it" she waved her hand

"Chris come on…"

"No you'll need it for your housewarming"

"Ah so you overheard?" she placed the money back in her pocket

"Bit hard to not notice especially since PJ came up asking for this weeks newspaper an hour ago"

"Yeah.." Maggie took a quick glance back over her shoulder

"Your not happy about it?" Chris sensed her hesitation

"It dosen't seem too soon to you?" she turned to look back at her

"Well I.."

"I just feel that maybe I haven't fully thought this through… don't get me wrong I love him so much but…"

"Weren't you ready to move in with Kellerman after a month?"

"Yeah but…"

"So why is this different, because it's clear to me and if I asked everyone else in here that you and PJ have been in love for three years now and neither one of you said anything because you were too stubborn"

"Thanks for the pep-talk Chris" Maggie laughed slightly

"All I'm saying is you and PJ your meant to be don't question why things are happening"

"You really think this could work? That's isn't not going to backfire like ever other relationship I've had…"

"Maggie…" Chris reached across grabbing her hand "what you and PJ have is something no one can take away; you are meant for each other"

"Thanks Chris" Maggie squeezed her hand

"Ehh it's what I'm here for" she shrugged moving back while Maggie collected the drinks and moved back to the table,

"Everything okay?" PJ smiled when she sat down

"Everything's perfect" she placed the drinks down

"You sure?"

"I was just thinking, what about this one" she pointed to the picture he'd been looking at earlier

"Are you sure?"

"On one compromise"

"Anything"

"The man cave, it goes" she tapped the newspaper

"But…"

"You want a baby one day right?" she raised an eyebrow

"You know I do" he rested a hand on her thigh

"So?"

"The man cave goes" he nodded tilting his head he began leaning in to kiss her

"We thought we'd find you here!" Nicks loud voice interrupted

"Shultz" PJ cleared his throat moving back

"Mind if we join the party?" Tom held a tray of drinks

"Please" Maggie motioned to the empty seats while PJ closed and folded the newspaper

"So… what's new?" Tom sat next to Maggie placing the tray down.

Sitting out in the beer garden hours later it'd now turned dark and the only light was from the small hanging lights Chris had decorating the garden looking up at the stars Maggie sighed

"Doyle?" his voice questioned getting closer

"Boss" she smiled sadly when he stopped siting next to her on the bench

"Everything alright?"

"Yeah"

"Doyle…" he nudged her arm sensing her hesitation

"I'm fine"

"You thinking about your Dad?"

"What kind of daughter am I leaving him for my own selfish needs?" she looked at him sadly

"Look… PJ told me what happened you leaving was probably the best decision"

"Boss it was an accident"

"Maggie he still hurt you whether he was drunk or not you shouldn't be around that"

"And how am I meant to explain that to him? He'll just feel like I've abandoned him all over again"

"Again?"

"When I was first posted to Mount Thomas we'd had an argument about me leaving… this is crazy right? I mean moving in with someone after a day together"

"Doyle you and PJ have been together longer then a day it's just neither of you cared to admit how you felt"

"You know Chris said the exact same thing" she smiled softly

"Well she's right"

"Were we really that obvious?"

"Please Nick picked it way before anyone else especially after that Christmas kiss he interrupted"

"Oh… can we not relive that?" she shook her head

"If moving in with PJ feels right then no one can stop you it's your decision and from what I've seen you already know it's the right idea" he moved to stand pulling her with him

"He better not leave his smelly socks around the house or I'll move out"

"I'll keep that in mind" PJ answered from near the corner

"I'll leave you too it" Tom kissed her forehead and moved towards the back door

"You disappeared, was beginning to get worried" PJ made his way over to her when they were alone,

"I just needed some air" she wrapped her arms around him settling her head against his chest

"You okay?" he hugged her back

"I'm perfect, I love you.." she moved her head to look up at him

"I love you too Mags" he placed a kiss on the tip of her nose

"Take me home?"

"Yeah come on" he pulled back interlocking his hand in hers walking them towards the carpark.
