Hey everyone, I hope all of you are doing well.

Here is Chapter 15 of Unexpected Allies.

Chapter XV.

After hearing Bofur's story to Bilbo, many in the dragon pit were touched by it.

King Robert, however, felt pride knowing his now legitimized son has a strong kinship with the dwarves, as he secretly plans to reward Bofur, Bombur and Bifur greatly when they come to Westeros, as a way to thank the trio for taking his son in when he had nowhere else to go.

Stannis developed more respect towards the dwarves after hearing Bofur's story and knowing his King brother, is planning to reward the three dwarves for taking in Gendry all those years ago, especially when Gendry returns to Westeros and be made Renly's heir of Storm's End.

Bitter as he is for not being given Storm's End, at least it will be in true Baratheon blood whenever Renly passes, and not in the hands of the pretenders Joffrey or Tommen, Cersei and the Kingslayer will be executed once this over. Joffrey and Tommen will be sent to the Wall and stripped of their names and titles for they are not Robert's children, Myrcella will be sent to the Silent Sisters.

Ever since he and Jon Arryn uncovered the truth of the 'royal children's' true heritage, it baffled him for not seeing it sooner, Joffrey was the spitting image of the Kingslayer with Cersei's cruelty, Tommen is just a plump version of his true father, Myrcella was her mother's daughter, but innocent.

Lady Tarly wept upon Bofur's words towards Bilbo about her son, she cannot believe what Randyll did to her son and it starts to make her question if her husband did the same to Dickon, she always knew Sam was nothing like her husband, her son is a lot like her own father, kind-hearted and gentle and loved his books.

Middle-Earth has changed her son, but in a good way, she owes the dwarves, Glóin and Óin plenty for taking in her son and raising him as their own, especially the former who has shown to be a better father to her son, than his own. As well as feeling guilty for not seeing the signs of Randyll's abuse on Sam until it was too late, once this is over, she plans on leaving Horn Hill and go spend some time with her family back in Brightwater Keep.

Olenna knew from earlier that Thorin's sister, the mother of Fili and Kili took in Margaery, but knowing her granddaughter was found in 'The Blue Mountains', with her clothes drenched and could have frozen to death shocked her, House Tyrell is in this Lady Dís' debt for taking in her granddaughter.

Who adored her granddaughter as if she was her own, for Margaery was close with Fili and Kili, though the queen of thorns is still a bit bitter towards Thorin for his treatment of Margaery in her youth.

Mace was touched on this Lady Dís for taking in her daughter, especially on how his daughter was found and how close she could have been to death, at least she is close with Fili and Kili, who adore her like a little sister.

Ser Barristan felt pity for Daenerys, knowing she is the last of her House and he has Balin's thanks, for taking in the poor girl and being a father figure to her, he owes a debt to the dwarf for protecting the last Targaryen.

Tyrion however, was worried about the Company, once Bilbo's sword began glowing blue, remembering what Gandalf said over an hour ago.

"They never seem to catch a break, do they?" Tyrion said around the group.

Varys agrees with Tyrion's comment, for Tyrion did inform him of how Elven swords or mainly their blades, glow blue when Orcs or Goblins are nearby.

"Perhaps, Thorin will realize, he may have made a mistake on leaving Rivendell without Gandalf," Varys says to Tyrion.

Tyrion knew Balin was right, they should have waited until Gandalf arrived or at least caught up with them, and now it looks the Company are going to be ambushed by Orcs.

"I doubt any of them will be in fighting shape," Tyrion honestly admits.

Oberyn Martell, however, has a look of disagreement.

"I disagree, Lord Tyrion, we shouldn't underestimate Thorin & Company...well not yet at least," Oberyn responds to the self-titled halfling.

As Bilbo, Bofur and Margaery stare at Bilbo's glowing sword, the trio knew what the glowing meant, it meant Orcs are near.

"Shit," Margaery muttered.

"Oh, that's bad," Bofur says in shock.

At the same time, Thorin, who is still lying down, hears a rumbling, and wood creaking noise, looking at the floor and noticed the cave is beginning to crack, shooting up from where he was resting and turns to the others.

"Wake up! Wake up!" Thorin yells out to the sleeping Company.

Everyone in the cave is startled by Thorin's booming voice, leaving Bofur to nearly stumbles back with Margaery quickly catching the dwarf in the process.

"Thanks, lass," Bofur thanks Margaery.

Only for the moment to be short-lived as the floor, they are on, suddenly the ground cracks, tipping the Company and they fall downwards into a cavern, where all they begin screaming as they are sliding through various tunnels that go under the Misty Mountains.

During which, Sam gets his bag caught onto one of the corners of the slopes, causing him to get stuck and indirectly left behind, in the process.

"Seven hells!" King Robert yelled out in shock.

Everyone in the dragon pit could not believe what just happened, the Company's resting area was some kind of trap.

"Who do you think it is?" Arya asks around.

No one could truly answer the Stark girl, though Tyrion decided to take a guess.

"Perhaps, it's Orcs," Tyrion guesses.

Hearing this did not help the thoughts of those, who have kin with Thorin & Company.

"Let's hope they will put up a fight," Olenna said to Tyrion.

"I agree, mother," Mace adds.

"As do I," Garlan says to his father and grandmother.

Lyra felt bad for Garlan, knowing how helpless he is when his younger siblings are constantly in danger, she couldn't imagine the thought of her little sisters Jorelle and Lyanna in Loras and Margaery's boots.

"I'm sure, Gandalf will arrive in time," Lyra assures Garlan.

"I hope so," Garlan responds to Lyra.

Lady Tarly gasped once they saw Sam getting stuck on one of the slopes, Dickon and Talia place their hands on their mother's shoulders for support.

"I'm sure, he will be fine, mother," Dickon says to his mother.

Lady Tarly smiles at her youngest son's words to her.

"Thank you, Dickon," Lady Tarly said sweetly to her son.

As the Thorin & Company, minus Sam, finally, land on a wooden cage.

One by one, the Company land on the cage, the dwarves struggle to get back up while Gendry, Loras and Margaery manage to get up right away.

Before they can start helping each other up from the fall, they hear loud screeching.

"Orcs?" Loras asked around.

Margaery shook her head at Loras' words.

"Goblins," Margaery answers.

"Look out!" Dori yells out to Gendry and Loras.

Gendry and Loras who still have their weapons on them, prepared for the horde of goblins coming their way, their weapons glowing blue.

"Get back!" Loras yelled at the goblins.

Loras unsheathes Laurë and manages to cut down four goblins with his elven sword, the first to fall was slain by a stab in the chest, the second and third lost their heads in one strike, the final goblin was slashed in the chest before stumbling back and fell to its death, leading the horde of goblins to overwhelm him soon after, taking his sword and shield from him.

"Piss off!" Gendry yelled in anger towards the goblins.

Gendry meanwhile used Húro-Falma and kills seven goblins with the axe-hammer, the first four were slain when he landed his first strike and the axe-hammer cut their heads clean off, before swinging his axe-hammer again and it killed three goblins before he is subdued by the goblins and they took his weapon.

However, King Robert's bastard was able to throw a goblin off of him and it led to the goblin, falling to its death.

When that was happening, the other members of Thorin & Company were being grabbed by the goblins who came from the back, where they to be taken as prisoners.

"Get, away!" Dori yells at the goblins.

The Company tries to fight them off, but the goblin horde is too great for them.

"Filth!" Ori cried out as he struggled to fight back.

"Get back!" Dwalin yells in anger.

Managing to fight back briefly, before the large numbers of goblins, managed to subdue the angry dwarf.

"You'll pay for this!" Glóin said with fury towards their captors.

Only to have their weapons taken from them and the goblins begin dragging them down a wooden bridge, just as bats appear from the left side of the bridge and began shrieking.

Dwalin once again manages to be set free and tries to fight them off.

"Get your hands off of me!" Dwalin yells out with a fury in his voice.

Once the folk in the dragon pit saw the goblins, many jumped in horror at the sight of the creatures.

"Those are goblins?!" Bran said with shock.

Tyrion nods to Bran's question.

"It appears so, Bran. Although they do look like an off-shoot of Orcs," Tyrion tells Bran.

"What disgusting creatures," Olenna said with disgust in her voice.

Mace and Garlan were shown to be happy at Loras, who managed to kill a few goblins before the Company quickly became outnumbered.

"At least, he took a few of them down," Mace says to his son.

Garlan nods, despite not liking the fact his younger brother and sister are supposed prisoners to the goblins, but he was happy to see his brother put up a fight as his little brother still had his weapons on him.

King Robert smiled greatly upon seeing his legitimized bastard son, Gendry, killing double the amount of goblins, Loras Tyrell killed and he laughed once he saw Gendry throw one off of him and the blasted creature fell to its death.

"That's my boy!" King Robert said proudly.

Joffrey who was moments cowering behind his mother, in fear once he saw the goblins, soon developed a more profound hatred for his legitimized half-brother, why did his father love the bastard more than him, he's the prince and heir to the iron throne.

This went unnoticed by Tyrion, who chuckled at his nephew's cowardice.

"He truly is worthy of the Baratheon name, brother," Renly says to his King brother.

Once hearing this, King Robert quickly agreed with his youngest brother.

"Damn straights, Renly! Gods that boy is a warrior, did you see him hurl that ugly goblin off of him!" King Robert said to Renly.

The Master of Laws nods to his brother's question.

"Indeed, I have, brother, a worthy heir of Storm's End," Renly replied to his brother.

Stannis agreed with his brothers.

"A true Baratheon," Stannis said to his brothers.

While looking directly towards Joffrey when he said it, Cersei noticed Stannis' comment and look towards her son, causing her to secretly fear that Stannis might know.

Only for the Queen's thoughts to be cut short with Renly turning to Joffrey.

"Joffrey, you could probably learn a lot from your newfound big brother," Renly said cheekily.

Which caused King Robert to laugh at Renly's words.

"Damn straights he would, Renly!" King Robert replied to Renly.

Making the oldest and youngest Baratheon brothers laugh, while Joffrey put his head down in shame and anger, making the prince wish for his father to die, so he could be King and have his uncles Stannis and Renly executed, people will fear him as they do his grandfather.

Cersei grinned at the sight of the Company being captured, in her thoughts, she prays the wretched goblins kill the bastard, it's already bad enough her husband adores the bastard over Joffrey, but she'll deal with Robert once this is over and her Joffrey will be the greatest King, the Seven Kingdoms ever had.

King Robert was livid at the goblins taking the Company as prisoners, the King hopes the bloody wizard comes to the Company's rescue like the last time, he only knew his legitimized bastard for less than a few hours and already likes him far more than Joffrey. His damn heir is nothing, but a constant disappointment, the whelp couldn't use a sword, can't use a damn bow, and it doesn't help the damn woman coddled Joffrey, nearly as bad as Lysa does with her son.

As the goblins pass by Bilbo, not noticing him, the hobbit uses this opportunity to hide and watch the dwarves be taken away, during which, Nori can be seen fighting off a goblin.

"Get off me!" Nori yelled out.

After the brief fight, Nori looks over his shoulder and sees Bilbo behind them.

Before the dwarf can do anything, the goblins push him forward. hiding, but he didn't have time to tell the others due to the goblins dragging him and the others away.

Bilbo hides behind the railings, watching as the goblins proceed through the darkness with Thorin & Company, drawing out his sword and staring at the blue glow, as he follows the goblin's path.

The hobbit walks through the wooden bridge quietly, before suddenly, a goblin jumps out in front of him.

Armed with a dagger, the goblin rushes forward to Bilbo, and steel meets steel, Bilbo barely manages to keep himself alive during the duel, though he was lucky to make the goblin lose his dagger.

Only for the goblin to leap on top of the hobbit, before the goblin could bite Bilbo, a loud angry voice can be heard.

"Let him go, you filth!"

The loud voice revealed to be none other than Sam, despite looking in pain from a recent fall, he had his axe ready to defend Bilbo, seeing Sam come to his aid made Bilbo smile in relief.

Everyone saw how Bilbo was able to easily hide from the goblins due to his size.

"Those goblins, sure are stupid," Tyrion said in disbelief.

The self-titled halfling couldn't believe how the goblins missed the hobbit in front of them, who easily hid from them.

"They truly are," Varys retorts back to Tyrion.

Sansa felt sorry for Bilbo having to fight the goblin, but was relieved to see Samwell Tarly coming to Bilbo's rescue.

"At least, Bilbo has Sam," Sansa said softly.

"That he is, Lady Sansa," Oberyn says to Sansa.

Dickon couldn't help but smile at Sam, showing bravery to defend Bilbo from the goblin.

"Get him, Sam," Dickon said aloud.

Talia smiles at her brother's word, feeling proud of Sam showing courage for his friend.

"Kill the goblin," Talia said as well.

Lady Tarly couldn't help but look relieved at seeing her son is alive, smiling at her son's bravery to defend Bilbo.

"Be safe, Sam," Lady Tarly said softly.

Randyll had a half-smile on him, at least he knew the piggy has some courage in him.

"Sam," Bilbo said in joy.

Sam smiles at seeing Bilbo, before staring at the goblin.

"I said, let him go!" Sam tells the goblin in his best attempt at Glóin's angry voice.

The goblin seemed startled at Sam's 'voice' before it jumps off of Bilbo, and charges towards Sam, who was still in the middle of the wooden bridge, this gave Bilbo enough time to recover as Sam prepares for the goblin charging towards him.

Sam attacked first, but the goblin managed to evade the axe and took advantage of Sam's injured leg and kicked it a few times.

"Aaahhh!" Sam cried out in pain.

The pain from his injured leg, put Sam to his knees before the goblin can attack him again, Sam took a deep breath and fought through the pain and used the pommel of his axe to hit the goblin it the stomach, as he swung a second time, grazing the goblin's chest, who cried out in pain.

Bilbo noticed that Sam's first swing from earlier indirectly cut the harness on the wooden bridge's right side, not wanting his friend to die from his inability to fight, Bilbo charged towards the goblin, who was just dodged Sam's third swing.

The hit cuts the harness on the other side of the bridge, as it slowly begins breaking.

"Get away from him!" Bilbo yells at the goblin.

Sam this time is in shock of Bilbo coming to his aid, despite the fact moments ago he was trying to save Bilbo, but together the hobbit and the young man overpower the goblin and throw it off the bridge, however, the goblin manages to grab a hold of Bilbo, to take the hobbit down with it.

"Aaahh!" Bilbo cried out.

Before the two could fall, Sam jumps over and manages to grab a hold of Bilbo.

"I got you!" Sam called out to Bilbo.

The goblin loses grip of Bilbo and soon falls to its supposed death, but the harness, Sam cut earlier, snaps and causes the wooden bridge to collapse under the duo, who soon fall under it and down the dark chasm.

Bilbo's sword can be heard hitting the rocks in a 'ding' like fashion.

"Samwell Tarly, truly has some balls," Tyrion said fondly.

Admiring the young man's bravery to save Bilbo, despite his injured leg.

"Let's hope he can kill it before the goblin notices his condition," Varys says to Tyrion.

Dickon smiled at his brother's bravery, he can tell his brother must have had a hard fall given how his brother was standing.

Talia gasped for not seeing her brother's injury but smiled at his attempt on saving Bilbo.

Ser Barristan couldn't help but have a warm smile on the young man, despite Sam's condition, he tried to fight off the goblin who took advantage of the young man's injury, Ser Barristan respected Sam for fighting through the pain, long enough for Bilbo to join in.

"Your son is stronger than he believes, Lady Tarly," Ser Barristan said fondly to Lady Tarly.

The Lady of Horn Hill had a bright smile once she heard the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard admire her son's act.

"Thank you, Ser Barristan, that means a lot coming from you," Lady Tarly thanks Ser Barristan.

Joffrey scoffs at Sam's attempt and looks down at the Tarlys.

"What good did it do for the piggy?" Joffrey said in a poor impression of Randyll Tarly.

The crowned prince soon starts laughing at his own joke, while Dickon and Talia glared at Joffrey, for his insult toward their brother, luckily Tyrion steps in.

"Coming from the one, moments ago cowered behind his mother at the sight of the goblins," Tyrion cheekily adds.

Making Renly laugh at the comment, then King Robert follows suit.

"Shut up, Imp!" Joffrey screams at his uncle.

King Robert glares at his son's behaviour, shaking his head.

"Seven hells, Joffrey! You are the bloody prince and the mere sight of goblins have you quiver in fear and run to your mother's skirt!" King Robert roared with anger.

Joffrey once again cowers behind Cersei, who easily protects her son.

"Enough, Robert, do not make a scene," Cersei pleads Robert.

Who only scoffs at his wife and son.

"I fear the day when he becomes King, and not in your Lannister way of fear. As in, fear for the whole realm that has to suffer under his rule. I should have let Stannis foster the shit, all those years ago. Maybe Stannis would have turned him into a man!" King Robert said with disappointment in his voice.

However, the King wasn't done talking as he looked at Joffrey.

"If anything, that Samwell Tarly has shown far more bravery than you ever will, Joffrey. Seven hells, even Ned's youngest daughter has shown more bravery than you!" Robert adds.

Tyrion chuckles at Joffrey being put in his place, Jaime shook his head at Tyrion playing a role in it but chose to say nothing.

Stannis could be seen smiling at his brother putting Joffrey and Cersei in their place.

He and Jon Arryn will tell Robert, once this is over.

The Company are being brought to what appears to be a throne room, discordant music begins playing all around them, causing most of the Company to cover their ears from how loud it is, Thorin manages to hit a Goblin before another one hits him back.

As they are near the throne room, they spot a giant, obese, bloated goblin with lots of warts, lumps, and scars on his body, with its neck resembling a bullfrog, carrying a large staff decorated with an animal skull, closely resembling a ram, adorned with shrunken heads.

Who began coughing quite disgustingly, a few smaller Goblins drop on all fours and let the large ugly Goblin put his feet on them as if they are a footstool.

"I feel a song..coming on!" The Great-Goblin said.

As he said this, the Goblin sets his feet on his minions, who let out a cry of pain.

Making Loras look disgusted at the hideous figure before them, Gendry tries his best to not vomit at the smell of the creatures, Margaery and Daenerys are trying their best not to gag.

"Who is that foul creature?" Loras asked around.

Balin overheard Loras' question and decides to answer the question.

"There were rumours of a 'Great-Goblin', that rules under the Misty Mountains. It appears those rumours are indeed true, Loras," Balin answers Loras' question.

"That is one ugly, goblin," Tyrion said in disgust of the Great-Goblin.

King Robert looked disgusted at the Great-Goblin's appearance, as he dropped his goblet of wine.

"That fucker, ruined my appetite," King Robert groaned bitterly.

The children are grossed out at the sight of the Great-Goblin's appearance, with Sansa letting out a gasp of horror at Thorin & Company in danger.

"They better not try and eat them," Sansa said fearfully.

"It looks like it," Edmure rather honestly tells his niece.

Sansa looks more horrified at the answer, Catelyn and the Blackfish shake their heads at Edmure's idiocy, who shrugged his shoulders at them.

"I was just trying to help," Edmure tells them both.

Catelyn couldn't believe her brother.

"By saying they're going to be eaten?" Catelyn said to her brother harshly.

Edmure once again shrugs his shoulders.

"Maybe, Gandalf and the others will come to their aid, like last time?" Edmure says to her.

Catelyn let out a sigh, looking tired with life.

"Just..try and not be blunt with it, Edmure," Catelyn said with a tired voice.

"Very well, sister," Edmure simply answered.

Arya had a confused look on her face, before turning to her father.

"That Great-Goblin's neck looks like horse balls," Arya said to her father.

The comment made the likes of King Robert, Renly, Oberyn, Tyrion, Myrcella and Tommen laugh.

"Gods it does, Arya!" King Robert said to Arya.

The King's laughter sounds like he is struggling to breathe, Tyrion, turns to the group around him.

"Ah yes, the Great-Goblin doesn't suit the ugly creature, henceforth, he shall forever be known as 'The Great-Scrotum-beard'!" Tyrion said boldly.

Making the children, minus Joffrey, laugh at Tyrion's comment, with King Robert laughing much harder at the comment, Renly and Oberyn follow suit with laughter at Tyrion's comment.

"Clap, snap, the black crack
Grip, grab, pinch, and nab
Batter and beat
Make 'em stammer and squeak!"

The Great-Goblin begins singing at the arrival group, rising from his throne and putting all of his weight onto his goblin minions, who squeal in pain from the weight of the Great-Goblin, who then took a few steps forward before nearly falling back and his minions quickly raise their hands and one of them had to use its feet, to put the Great-Goblin back on his feet.

"Pound pound, far underground
Down, down, down in Goblin-town!"

The Great-Goblin continued his song, raising his arms in the air and twirls around, before facing Thorin & Company once again, just as the Great-Goblin's minions begin singing in the background.

"With a swish and smack
And a whip and a crack
Everybody talks when they're on my rack!"

Thorin & Company are now up and close to the Great-Goblin as he continued his song to the Company and begins dancing to them as he places his staff around his arms around near the end of the third verse, as the Great-Goblin continues singing.

"Pound pound, far underground
Down, down, down in Goblin-town!"

The Company look confused about what is going on as the Great-Goblin keeps on singing, using its staff to tap the floor in the early part of the fourth verse than soon made a hand gesture on how far down they are in Goblin-town, just as the goblin minions kept singing in the background.

"Hammer and tongs, get out your knockers and gongs
You won't last long on the end of my prongs!"

Gendry's eyes widen as they witness the Great-Goblin use his staff to plunge his minion through, lifting the staff and begins twirling it before throwing the dead goblin off his staff towards them, Loras barely had time to dodge the incoming dead goblin.

"Clash, crash, crush and smish
Bang, break, shiver and shake!
You can yammer and yelp
But there ain't no help
Pound pound, far underground!
Down, down, down in Goblin-town!"

The Company were forced to watch as the Great-Goblin kept on dancing in front of them and using hand gestures throughout the final verse of the song, until the very end of the song, the Great-Goblin twirls around once again, but at a slower pace and causing Gendry, Loras, Margaery and Daenerys to duck to avoid the staff from hitting them.

However, the stench of the Great-Goblin was too strong, leading Loras to vomit in disgust as he caught a whiff of the foul smell, including Gendry, who soon followed suit and vomits on the floor, with Margaery and Daenerys, who were not far behind them, nearly did as well but stopped themselves at the last second.

"You okay?" Margaery asked her brother.

Loras shook his head, once he finished wiping his mouth from the vomit.

"Be glad, you are not where I was standing moments ago," Loras answered his sister with an ill voice.

Bofur turns to Gendry to check on the young man, Gendry brushes it off.

"He smells worse than the trolls," Gendry could only say while trying his best not to gag.

Bofur pats his back and nods with the young man.

"That he does, lad. That he does," Bofur assures Gendry.

The discordant music comes to an end, much to the relief of the Company.

"Yeah!" The Great-Goblin yells out in triumph.

Doing a hand gesture once he said it, before stomping on his minions to get to his throne, who then cry out in agony from the full weight of the Great-Goblin.

"Catchy, isn't it? It's one of my own compositions," The Great-Goblin asks the group.

Only for Balin to disagree right away.

"It's no song, it's an abomination!" Balin yells out in anger.

With many in the Company agreeing with Balin's words.

"Abominations. Mutations. Deviations. That's all you're gonna find down here," The Great-Goblin.

As the Great-Goblin said this, it pans around the rest of Goblin-town.

"That truly was an abomination," Tyrion said once the 'song' was over.

Varys agreed with Tyrion's words, giving a simple nod of agreement.

"It truly is," Varys tells Tyrion.

The Red Viper agreed with them as well.

"Like the Rains of Castamere," Oberyn responds to them.

Cersei, Joffrey and Jaime look offended at Oberyn's comment, but none of them chose to say anything.

"It was an ugly song, uncle," Tommen tells Tyrion.

"It truly is," Tyrion says to his youngest nephew.

Olenna Tyrell even cringed at the Great-Goblin's so-called 'performance', and felt sorry for her grandchildren.

"Without a doubt, it is one of the most dreadful things I have heard, in my entire life," Olenna spoke with disgust.

Mace easily agreed with his mother.

"I agree, mother," Mace said.

Garlan nods with his father.

"It truly was terrible," Garlan adds.

"That was a horrible song," Sansa said all around.

"It was no song, Sansa, it was an abomination," Arya tells her sister.

Ned agreed with his youngest daughter.

"Indeed, Arya, it is an abomination," Ned Stark said to his daughter.

"That is is, Lord Stark," Lyra Mormont says to her liege lord.

Renly cringed at his nephew's vomit, knowing full well, he would do the same in his nephew's boots.

"I bet their clothes are gonna reek of goblins, when they escape," Renly says aloud.

Shireen turns to her uncle.

"You believe so, uncle?" Shireen asks Renly.

Renly smiles at his niece, before nodding his head.

"Of course, Gandalf has not let us down yet," Renly confidently says to Shireen.

Making, Shireen smile once hearing her uncle's words.

"Gandalf better, I would like to take a swing with that Stormbreaker, my boy wields," King Robert said to them both.

Making Renly and Shireen chuckle in response.

The goblins pile the weapons of Thorin & Company together.

The Great Goblin leaps from his throne, leaning on his staff for support.

"Who would be so bold as to come armed into my kingdom? Spies? Thieves? Assassins?" The Great-Goblin asks the Company.

One of his minions being the closest to him spoke.

"Dwarves, Men and Women, your malevolence," The minion answered.

"Dwarves? Men? Women?" The Great-Goblin asked.

The minion nods while pointing towards the Company.

"We found them from the front porch," The minion answers.

"Well, don't just stand there! Search them! Every crack, every crevice!" The Great-Goblin demands.

The goblins rush forward, searching thoroughly with each of them, whatever they find, the goblins throw on the ground.

A particular goblin grabs Óin's hearing trumpet and crushes it under its foot.

Another goblin opens up a bag, revealing to be candle holder, cups and cutlery from Rivendell, with the minion grabbing hold of it and handing it over towards the Great-Goblin.

"It is in my belief, your great protuberance...that they are in leagues with Elves!" The minion declared to the Great-Goblin.

The Great-Goblin grabs a hold of it and looks at the bottom of the candle holder.

"'Made in Rivendell'" The Great-Goblin reads the engraving loudly.

Before scoffing at it.

"Ah! Second Age. Couldn't give it away," The Great-Goblin said before tossing it away.

All of Thorin & Company turn towards Nori, with Dori looking disappointed at his brother.

"Just a couple of keepsakes," Nori poorly explains to everyone.

Causing Margaery, Gendry and Daenerys to groan at Nori's poor explanation.

"Dammit, Nori," Margaery muttered.

"Gandalf, better come to their aid," Tyrion said.

Not wanting Thorin & Company to perish, he has grown fond of certain members of the group.

"The sooner, Gandalf arrives, the safer they will be," Oberyn tells Tyrion.

The Red Viper grew to like Thorin & Company, even having respect for them after hearing how some of them took in Westerosi children when they had nowhere else to go, he had great respect for Balin taking in Daenerys Targaryen, the last of her house.

"I'm surprised the goblins even know what 'protuberance' means," Varys says to Tyrion.

Making Tyrion laugh in response.

Jon Arryn cringed when the goblins stomped on the dwarf Óin's hearing trumpet being stomped on, the Hand of the King knew the dwarf already hard on hearing, the Hand of the King has been losing his hearing over the years from Lysa's shrieks and screams. He is grateful for Stannis accepting to foster his son, once this is all over, his son needs to get away from Lysa, the sooner, the better.

Oberyn chuckled at Nori stealing candle holders, cutlery and cups from Rivendell, though he didn't blame the dwarf for doing so, Rivendell is a sight he never has seen before and the dwarf should be grateful Lord Elrond does not know of it, otherwise, Nori should stay far away from Rivendell for a while.

"Nori should stay far away from Rivendell," Oberyn said with a chuckle.

Tyrion agreed with the Red Viper.

"That he should, and he should have known better. Bad enough the Dwarves and Elves have bad blood, Nori's action may not allow them to set foot in Rivendell for goodness how long," Tyrion said to Oberyn.

Varys shook his head at Nori's actions, the dwarf would have lost a hand if he were in Westeros, goodness gracious if the dwarf did it, if Aerys Targaryen was around, let alone Tywin Lannister.

"Nori would have lost a hand for that," Stannis said aloud.

Some agreed with the King's brother, mainly Ned Stark, who agreed the dwarf would have lost his hand, he doesn't like thieves and knowing the dwarf stole from his distant uncle, felt like an insult to him and his ancestors.

"I couldn't imagine if he did that in Casterly Rock," Tyrion adds.

Tyrion could imagine what his father would do to Nori as punishment, it wouldn't end well for the dwarf, his father did worse things for less than stealing.

"What are you doing in these parts?" The Great-Goblin demands.

Just as Thorin is about to step forward, only for Óin to pat Thorin's shoulder.

"Don't worry, lads. I'll handle this," Óin says to the group.

As the dwarf steps forward, the Company is in shock, especially his brother, Glóin.

"What's that?" Glóin said in confusion.

The Great-Goblin points towards them.

"No tricks! I want the truth. Warts and all!" The Great-Goblin said loudly.

Only for Óin to be unfazed by it.

"You're going to have to speak up!" The dwarf says to the Great-Goblin.

As he grabs his now flattened hearing trumpet.

"Your boys flattened my trumpet," Óin tells the Great-Goblin.

"I'll flatten more than your trumpet!" The Great-Gobin yells out.

In his anger, the Great-Goblin steps forward towards the Company.

Before any of them can say anything, another set of goblins make their entrance with two figures.

One is a man, dressed in furs with wild red hair and beard, along with blue eyes that scream rage towards the goblin, as a goblin takes his single-edged sword from him and presents it to the Great-Goblin.

The other is a younger woman, roughly the same age as Margaery and Daenerys, dressed in furs like the man, having wild long red hair and blue-grey eyes, like the man beside her, she puts up a fight, just as the goblin's hand over her bow and arrows to the Great-Goblin.

The third is another man, a bit older than the other man, as well as taller and leaner, with fair hair and blue eyes, dressed in wool and leather, with a dark green tunic displaying a standing black bear, the goblins drop his longsword onto the floor like the others.

"Who are they?" The Great-Goblin asks the goblin who brought them.

"Two men and a woman, your malevolence. There was another woman with them, but she must have fallen to her death," The goblin explained to the Great-Goblin.

The wild man puts up a fight once again, even throwing a goblin off of him and the goblin falls to its death, before being subdued.

"Ah, wild folk," The Great-Goblin said to the minion.

Only to pause at the man dressed rather differently than them.

"This one isn't one of them," The Great-Goblin adds.

Though he paused briefly at the black bear sigil on the tunic, as he looks at the wild woman than to Daenerys and Margaery.

"This one isn't as pretty as the ones there," The Great-Goblin said as an insult to the red-haired woman.

Tyrion couldn't help but chuckle at Óin's casual demeanour when the Great-Scrotum-Beard yelled at them, or the dwarf when he asked for the goblin to speak up.

Lyra and Lyanna were stunned to see the man wearing the green tunic with their House sigil on it, the former easily recognized her disgraced cousin, Jorah Mormont, while Lyanna was only a babe, when her cousin fled Westeros.

"Cousin Jorah," Lyra said bitterly.

Ned Stark sighed at seeing the disgraced former Lord of Bear Island, seeing him in Middle-Earth did surprise him, though he knew from the wildman and woman were from Beyond the Wall, he knew a Northern accent well enough and executing Wildlings who came South of the Wall.

"Jorah Mormont. Never thought I would ever hear that name again, let alone see the man," Ned said bitterly.

He never forgave the man for trying to sell poachers to slavery, he remembered some of his Bannerman tried to talk Jorah out of his marriage to Lynesse Hightower, shame the man never headed their words, perhaps he would not have dishonoured his House.

"I thought he died when sailing across the Narrow Sea," Ned Stark adds.

Varys overhears this and turns to Lord Stark.

"I thought so too, Lord Stark," Varys tells Ned calmly.

Bran turns to his father at the sight of the Wildlings, he witnessed his father do beheadings and a few of them were Wildlings.

"Father, the man and woman there, they sound like Wildlings," Bran says to his father.

Ned Stark nods at his son's words.

"They are Wildlings, Bran," Ned answers his son.

Seeing Thorin & Company aren't responding, the Great-Goblin develops a grin.

"Very well, if they will not talk, we'll make them squawk!" The Great-Goblin proclaims.

Making the goblins all around them to cheer in support, as the Great-Goblin continues.

"Bring out the mangler! Bring out the bone breaker!" The Great-Goblin yells out.

As he points turns around to face the group once again.

"Start with the youngest! And the pretty one there too!" The Great-Goblin adds.

Cutting to Ori and Margaery, Dori and Nori try to protest as they don't want their little brother to be tortured, Loras tries to fight for his sister, but the goblins behind him easily restrain him.

"Wait!" Thorin yells out.

Stepping in front of the Company, the Great-Goblin is surprised to see Thorin in front of him.

"Well, well, well, look who it is! Thorin, son of Thráin, son of Thrór! King Under The Mountain!" The Great-Goblin says to Thorin.

While giving Thorin a mocking bow, leading the goblins in Goblin-town to laugh at Thorin.

"Oh, but I'm forgetting, you don't have a mountain. And you're not a king. Which makes you nobody, really," The Great-Goblin adds.

The goblins around Goblin-town laugh once more, this time much louder than before.

Thorin has a look of anger, along with Fili and Kili, who do not like the Great-Goblin's insults to their uncle.

"I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head. Just the head, nothing attached. Perhaps you know of whom I speak. An old enemy of yours," The Great-Goblin says to Thorin.

Thorin looks up towards The Great-Goblin, giving the goblin a stern look.

"A pale Orc, astride a white warg," The Great-Goblin adds.

Everyone in Thorin & Company is in disbelief of The Great-Goblin's words, especially Thorin.

"Azog the Defiler was destroyed. He was slain in battle, long ago!" Thorin said to The Great-Goblin.

Margaery and Balin both have a look knowing The Great-Goblin was telling the truth, while Fili and Kili look worried, knowing the Pale Orc lives once they saw Balin give them a sad nod.

"So, you think his defiling days are done, do you?" The Great-Goblin asked sinisterly.

Before he lets out a laugh and faces a tiny goblin who is his scribe.

"Send word to the Pale Orc. Tell him, I have his prize," The Great-Goblin tells his scribe.

The scribe writes down this message on a slate, with a cackle and pulls a lever and sails off into the dark caverns below.

The End of Chapter 15.

I hope you all enjoyed Chapter 15.

I know this chapter was supposed to have the Gollum encounter, but it would have taken me a little longer to upload and the chapter would have been double the length.

Plus I didn't want to delay the chapter any further for you guys, I had fun coming up when I introduced Ygritte, Tormund, and Jorah into the story, even if they are in cameos in this chapter.

I brought Jorah to the story, mainly because I like his character and Iain Glen was awesome in the role.

For Tormund, well I like the character and I love the Jon/Tormund bromance in the show, it was one of my favourite things about Game of Thrones.

I brought Ygritte just for the hell of it, don't worry no love triangle between Ygritte, Jon and Margaery, speaking of Ygritte, her actress Rose Leslie and Jon Snow's actor, Kit Harington have announced they are expecting a child, so congrats to them.

I won't be uploading Chapter 16 for a while, as I'm currently moving, and I'm going to spend the rest of the week moving into my new place, but I have started 1/4 of the story already, so that will give me a heads start when I get working on it.

I also want to thank you all for liking my story Unexpected Allies, as well as following it and/or putting it on your favourites list.

I am still surprised at how many people like this story already and I am only 2/3 through Unexpected Journey, with 2 more arcs/films to go.

So again, thank you all and I wish you and your loved ones the best of health and luck during this pandemic.

Answering Questions/Reviews.

Puffgirl1952 the 2nd: As you could tell from this chapter, I kept the Goblin-town scene intact, but with a couple of differences.

GodOfTheSea21: Thanks, I would say he would only tolerate it because his brothers and Jon Arryn convincing him to spare her, and because Stannis and Jon could use her and Gendry's future child as proof, Joff, Myrcella and Tommen are not the King's children, so sadly it is more of a political decision.

kingmanaena: Thanks for liking it, Thorin can be one at times, I am gonna do my best to update better than the last couple chapters, hope you liked their reactions to Goblin-Town and the Great-Goblin introduction, the escape/battle is one of my favourite moments from the film.

Mans: Finally got the chapter done, sorry it took a while to get it done, had some personal stuff going on and it led to me falling behind.

Guest1: Like your idea, but I have a plan for Jon learning of his true heritage in the story, as I have a twist coming in the early part of the Desolation of Smaug arc.

AXMeave: Thanks for liking it, I wanted something different for pairings and I was quite surprised at not many pairings of Dany and Gendry, so I went with them as a pairing to be different, I almost had Robb/Margaery and Jon/Tauriel as the main pairings, but the site already has too much of Robb/Margaery pairings, so I swapped them at the last second. Hope you liked the dragon pit reactions to the Great-Goblin, I had fun writing that part, and yes, there will be a Jon/Margaery moment in Chapter 17 and before the end of the Unexpected Journey arc.

VFSNAKE: Thanks for liking the story, I hope you liked their reactions to the goblins, Goblin-town and the Great-Goblin, as well as the Great-Goblin revealing to Thorin & Company of Azog's survival, and the reason I cut most of Azog's scenes is to build tension on when he finally appears.

Burbur: Thank you for liking it, I do my best to update whenever I can.

SniperBro1998: Thanks, I am using the Extended Editions of the Hobbit films, so the extended scenes from those films will be in the story, hope you liked their reactions to the introduction of the Great-Goblin and Goblin-town, let's just say, the encounter in Mirkwood will be a bit different due to the Westerosi being there. With Jon's fostering in Rivendell, he is the best swordsman out of the Westerosi, due to Elrond and Glorfindel being his teachers, and it will be shown more in Chapter 17. I'll place Azog and Bolg around the same height of being roughly over 7 feet tall for this story, I hope you are having a great time as well.

Perseus12: Thanks for liking it, hope you liked their reactions to the Goblins, Goblin-town and Great-Goblin, I had to cut the Gollum encounter for Chapter 16 as the chapter would have been twice as long and I wanted the chapter up before I move. While Chapter 17 will have the escape of Goblin-town and many of the dragon pit folk will be in awe when the company is in action against a large horde of enemies. Gendry being legitimized was something I planned on doing later, but it felt right having it sooner, so the others can see him in action and Bobby B being proud of his son when they see him and Stormbreaker in action.
Yep, all thanks to Stannis the Mannis, Jon Arryn and Renly, though the latter was by sheer luck.

ro781727: Well, Thorin wasn't too fond of 'outsiders' living among them at first, eventually he did warm-up to her and others in time, wait till we get there in Batlle of Five Armies, I had to cut the Gollum encounter and save it for Chapter 16 because the chapter would have been twice as long and I wanted this chapter up before I move.

Guest2: Thanks for liking it.

Asteroth1: Thanks for liking the story, hope you liked the Goblin-town scene, I often try and leave them on cliffhangers, to try and make the next chapter more interesting.

ParadoxEnd: Thanks for liking the story, it's getting better and I hope you keep well too.

Thranduil Arryn: Thanks for liking my story, and I am looking forward to writing the surviving Westerosi characters returning to Westeros once it is over, I do have some interesting twists when they encounter Thranduil. I nearly had a love triangle for Dany/Jon/Tauriel in my first pitch of the story, before I chose to scrap it, then changing the Robb/Margaery and Jon/Tauriel pairings and swapped them.

The Seabass: Thanks for liking my story, hope you liked the introduction of the Goblins and Goblin-town, and that part in DoS was one of my favourite scenes from the Hobbit films as well, don't worry, I learned from my mistake and I save my chapter every few minutes to be extra careful.

Last Primaris: Thanks for liking my story, it is nice to know my story brightens your day when a new chapter is uploaded, I hope you get better. I haven't got hate mail yet, but I did get a couple of negative reviews, of which I just ignore, and it was around the time, I was starting to edit my earlier chapters after I downloaded the Grammarly app onto my laptop. Which has helped with my writing since I got it, though it is the basic version I got and thank you for reading and liking my story.
