The Gryffindor table was quiet before they all stood on their feet erupting in thunderous applause and cheers. They'd got TWO Potter's in one sorting!

Though there definitely was a mystery surrounding the girl. Almost everyone in pureblood society had thought young Harry was the last one. McGonagall stated she was a "transfer" student. So maybe she was a cousin who lived outside the UK? Some of the weaker branches of magical family trees, did in fact leave the Wizarding World of Great Britain when You-Know-Who rose to power. But the Potters had seemingly stood their ground in the fight? Who knows? They were just glad to have her here. Especially since she was easy on the eyes, some boys thought.

Lucy just smiled politely and took her place at the table across from Harry. Dumbledore was dumbfounded, he had not expected her to be a lion. With the way she's reacted to him years ago, he had thought for sure the girl would be a snake like her father. Absentmindedly looking over in Severus' direction and seeing the man still in shock. Minerva was practically bouncing on her feet as she took her place at the Head table.

"See, I told you, she was a good girl." She whispered in his ear; the old man sighed. Just what he needed, a lion he couldn't tame.

"Not all animals are meant to be domesticated" Fawkes trilled to his master, following his train of thought as the bird appeared on his shoulder. "Look Whiskers," the bird continued, using his "Pet" name for the Wizard. "You can't do anything about the past. What you can do is keep an eye on her while she's here? If she not causing you and the other student's problems? I don't see what the deal is. What was her reaction to seeing you this time?"

The Headmaster thought back, "Nothing, she didn't even acknowledge I was here"

"Then follow her lead for a change. I know you insisted on cornering her after dinner to find out about the "Blood Wards" on her Aunt's property-"

"I don't corner, I politely request"

The bird chortled, "Right… and I am NOT a "Fire" phoenix. You can't fool me Whiskers, we've been through too much together" he affectionately nipped his master's beard. "Give her at least a month to settle in…"

...

Days past as Harry and Lucy began to get into their new lives and routines. Because the sixth-year schedules had different time table than the Firsts. The siblings only saw each other at mealtimes or after class at the end of the day, with the older sister still offering to help with his school work.

Most of the teaching staff at the beginning were quite surprised at how quickly their oldest new student had caught up with the rest of her year. But the quiet yet eager pupil simply shrugged at their questioning saying that she had received some tutoring. Soo impressed by the tutor's teaching some asked for her name. They had never heard of a "Miss Aurora" until Lucy explained that she didn't go by her last name because of her family's influence during the Wizarding War against Voldemort. That raised a few eyebrows but in the end most of them understood the want and need to protect family, while standing out on their own. Whoever Miss Aurora was, she was a talented teacher. Maybe one day, they would get to meet her.

Then came the day of Gryffindor and Slytherin first years flying lesson. Lucy had a free period and was at that moment outside, studying under a normal tree (not the whomping Willow) in the courtyard when she heard it: A young boy screaming!

As she ran closer, Lucy realized it was Neville Longbottom. He was not in control of his broom, as the thing kept trying to buck him off and crashing against the castle wall!

Knowing that she had to do something fast as everyone else was just watching. Lucy leapt at the tall structure, transforming in midair into a lioness and began to scale the wall with her claws digging in, much to the awe of the younger students and Madam Hooch. One more buck, and poor Neville fell off and got his cloak caught on a flag pole but that didn't hold him for long. As he started to pummel down, Lucy changed again, into a giant serpent resembling a python. Jumping off the structure, catching him in midair. Her coils wrapped around him tightly as they braced for impact. But it never came for they were caught by Madam Hooch's wand and were lowered slowly to the ground. Lucy slithered off the boy and turned back.

"Neville, are you alright?"

"I-! I think so," he choked out.

The sixth year winced, "I'm sorry, I'm still getting used to my strength in that form. Nothing permanently damaging I hope?"

"No, I-! I think I'll be alright. Thank you"

"You're Welcome," she said, helping him up before turning to face the audience.

"You- you were a lion?" gasped Ron, "A real lion…"

"And then you were a snake?" said Draco Malfoy with the whole Slytherin class silently siding with him in question.

"I am what I NEED to be at the time" answered Lucy unfazed.

"A duel Animagus is not unheard of but is most uncommon" breathed Hermione.

"Uncommon" is one of the best words to describe me, Miss Granger. I'm currently in the middle of registering with the Ministry,"

"Well I would certainly recommend you, Miss Potter" said Madam Hooch. "50 points to Gryffindor for helping out a fellow student"

"That isn't necessary,"

"WHAT?" both teams shouted in disbelief.

"If People stop helping out each other be they magical or muggle? Then they lose what makes them human. Don't reward me for something that should be instinct" she said, walking away after putting a silent hand on her brother's shoulder. Neville's eyes followed her, then his body.

"Mr. Longbottom, where are you going?" ask the teacher. "Umm... I think I have had enough flying today Professor, I'd like to keep my feet on the ground?" he asked hopefully. Madam Hooch sighed; she didn't want to push the boy so soon after what had just happened.

"Very well, just don't leave the courtyard until the bell rings"

"Thank you!" he said taking off after Lucy.

Malfoy laughed behind him and produced a glass orb. "Maybe if the fat oaf had given this a squeeze, he would have remembered not to come to class?!"

"Give it here Malfoy" ordered Harry…

Lucy had just resumed her spot under the tree when she heard foot prints trotting up. "Hello Neville,"

"You- you knew I was there behind you?"

"You're not exactly "quiet" when you move though the rest of you is"

"Sorry," he blushed.

"It's quite alright, I have a friend who's a lot like that. She can't attend Hogwarts because of her illness" she said, wordlessly inviting him to sit. Neville sat down and gazed at her puzzled.

"You look familiar, though it is kind of fuzzy?"

Lucy laughed, "Neville, I've known you since you were a baby. Your mother used to bring you over to our house to play with Harry secretly before-" she sighed, "Before the attacks happened to both our parents. I was only five or six at the time."

His eyes widened, "Lucky Lucy?"

She shook her head, "I haven't been so lucky as of late, but yes. That's what you two called me when you were first learning to talk or something like it." She grimaced at the memory of actually hearing "Ucky" coming out of their mouths. Neville had grown into a sweet young boy despite his own tragic beginning.

Before either could ask another question, the bell rang and Harry was being called inside by Professor McGonagall.

Lucy rolled her eyes, hoping he hadn't done anything too stupid. Well, she supposed she could ask him after class. This was going to be the first and only class so far that she was going to have with the First years as the others in her year already knew where they stood with Potions. It was mandatory that she attend the first few lessons so the Professor could see where she was at.

...

Lucy headed down to the Dungeons and found a spot in the back of the empty classroom as the younger students poured in. Surprisingly her brother had arrived on time and sat next to Ron towards the middle. Just as the children were starting to settle in and talk excitedly, the door opened from the back and a deep stern voice came out of the Wizard that swept into the room with his billowing black robes.

"There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science of potion making. However, for those of you who possess the pre-disposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses; I can tell you how to brew glory, bottle fame, and even put a stopper in death."

Lucy had to raise an eyebrow at some of those, not sure if he was boasting. The Professor's eyes didn't seem to be on her, instead they focused on her brother.

"Then again, maybe be some of you have come to Hogwarts in such possession of such abilities so formidable that you feel comfortable enough to not pay attention" he breathed as the boy looked up from his writing. "Mr. Potter, our-new celebrity"

Oh NO he didn't!

Her hair stood up, ready to defend. Before she remembered the breathing exercises, Miss Aurora had her and friends do to control their anger. It would not be good to verbally tear off the teacher's head on the first day. Closing her eyes, she focused while listening for her brother's response. But instead, the Professor fired a question this time.

"Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

"I don't know sir" the man sneered not happy with his answer. Completely ignoring Hermione's overly raised hand.

"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

The boy looked at him helplessly, "I don't know sir"

"And what is the difference between monkshood and Wolfsbane?"

"I don't know,"

"Of course you don't, clearly Fame isn't everything…"

"Breathe, just breathe" Lucy whispered to herself.

"Potter! In the back. Answer the questions"

Oh HELL NO!

Wordlessly Lucy stood upon opening her eyes, they were blank and cold as she spoke in a dead empty tone sending chills to match the Professor's "Asphodel and Wormwood are part of a sleeping potion known as Draught of the Living Death"

"Sounds like she's taken some already," whispered Ron.

"That's her "soldier" face, something she's developed over years of getting in trouble. Completely tuning out her attacker's attitude and giving the smallest information" Harry whispered back.

"Quiet," the Professor ordered as he waited.

"A Bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat, it is said to have healing properties that cures most poisons," she continued in the same dead tone. "Monkshood and Wolfsbane are actually the same plant known as Aconite" Lucy finished retaking her seat.

The man paused before, "Insufferable Know- It-All"

"Thank you," she replied, her voice not changing, "I'd rather know something, than nothing. Now can we please start the class?"

"Cheeky brat, just like your Father, 5 points from Gryffindor" he announced causing the lions to groan. "That's not fair! She answered the questions correctly!" A soft smile briefly lit Lucy's eyes before disappearing.

Thank Merlin! They finally got on task. When it came time to partner up, making the Cure for Boils potion. Nobody chose Neville until the older lion volunteered to take him.

"I'm really no good with potions," the boy confessed.

"How do you know if you don't try it? But even if you aren't, very few excel at every subject." Lucy encouraged, "And lucky for you…" she whispered, "I've already made this particular potion in a smaller class. Just follow the instructions and listen to what I say, alright?"

"Alright," he nervously agreed.

Truth be told, them working together was probably one of the best pairings. They actually got it right, after Lucy saved him from making several mistakes, including putting in the "porcupine" quills in too soon. Which is what happened to the table behind them. Causing the girl to shield them both and their project in a bubblelike essence until it was over, and the Professor cruelly lecturing the singed boys.

Worst of all he blamed her brother for not warning them? How could he warn other people if he had to watch his own cauldron? This was his first lesson.

The man could not be THAT stupid! she thought furiously, not failing to notice how the Professor's eyes narrowed in her direction. After growing up in Vernon and Petunia distasteful presence she was immune to those kinds of looks. If he didn't like it, he should stay out of her head. Nosy Legilimens…

When Neville and Lucy bottled their sample and brought it up front. "Professor Snape" as she read on the desk, merely sneered examining it before accusing them of cheating, creating a too "perfect potion" before "accidently" smashing the vial and giving them a zero for the day, causing Neville to look like he was about ready to cry.

"You did your best," Lucy comforted him as the bell rang "Go on," she said as the rest of the students piled out of the class including Harry who paused at the door, waiting for her. But his sister silently encouraged him to go on. He sighed and left, leaving her alone with the Professor who was still grading samples on the desk.

Lucy walked back to her previous station where different size chopping knives where still laid out and grabbed a clean empty vial.

"Here," she said, walking back up to the desk, holding out the small container filled with thick red liquid substance.

"What is that?" he asked, glancing at the item before he looked away.

"Payment for this class" she answered him in a dead serious tone, causing his head to snap up and face her. "Don't look so surprised. I've merely given you what you have been after since class began: blood." Wiping her injured hand on her robes.

"Miss Potter, you are out of line-"

"No, Professor Snape. You are, and you know it. If you insist on continuing to take your pound of flesh. Let it be from my hide. Not Harry, and not Neville. A boy whose parents did nothing to you" she said walking off.

"Detention tonight 7 o' clock" she heard him call behind her. She didn't care, if she could stop him from doing what he was. That would be enough…

Yeah... Father and Daughter didn't have the warmest first meeting. Hope you enjoyed and will review, thanks...
