Jevil paced around the dungeon entrance. The walls were painted pitch black with white lines showing the corners and edges. Jevil personally thought it was very boring but Dimentio wouldn't listen to Jevil's suggestions to add some patterns. That was one of the reasons why Jevil disliked guard duty. On top of that, he hated the monotonous nature of watching Luigi sobbing on the floor out of Jevil's mere presence. But soon enough, they will have everything that they need to destroy reality and Jevil can have all the fun he desired since he realized the world was a game. The thought made him let loose a chuckle.
"You realize that you won't get what you want."
Jevil turned around. Luigi had his face in between the bars and had clearly been watching the jester pace around the dungeon. He had bags under his eyes which were bloodshot due to his tears. His moustache was a hairy mess on his face. Jevil's eyes narrowed as he continued to pace.
"Well, well, well, why wouldn't I get what I want? I will bring the outside to all and I'll be finally free!" said Jevil with glee.
Luigi shook his head. Jevil gave an ugly sneer.
"You fail to realize that your true goal is nowhere near," said Luigi, "It's all because all him."
Jevil continued to walk around, pretending to ignore the plumber. But the statement nagged him in the back of his mind.
"Who?"
Luigi, sensing he had the advantage, paused. Until Jevil couldn't hold his curiosity, he walked to the cello and shook the bars in anger.
"Tell me!"
Luigi walked back deeper into his cell and sat down.
"Have you ever heard what Dimentio had done to the previous team that he worked with?" asked Luigi. Jevil stayed silent. He didn't know why he didn't silence the insufferable plumber but he wanted to hear what he had to say.
"They, like you, summoned the Chaos Heart and planned to destroy the world. But then do you know what Dimentio did?"
Jevil studied Luigi's face. Underneath his disheveled face, Jevil didn't see him twitch.
"He took the Chaos Heart for himself and planned to build his own autocratic empire. Doesn't that remove the fun that you crave for?"
Jevil didn't say anything.
"You know he doesn't respect your opinion. He sends you to do grunt work just to get you off his hands. He'll likely will just dispose of you once your usefulness has ran out. By working with him, you're ensuring your doom!"
Jevil stood for a moment. The thoughts ran through his mind. All the times Dimentio referred to him condescendingly and casted his suggestions aside played like a film reel in Jevil's fractured mind. Then two pieces click then another, then another.
Suddenly Jevil flicked his hand and an iron sheet of metal sealed the insides of the cell from him. Then he briskly walked out of the cell.
He had work to do.
