Preface: Hello, again! Sorry for that final delay - I'll try and make sure that doesn't happen with Minecraft Maniacs RPG, but you know parents! Anyways, this is the final part of Spacehog from Mobius III: Chaos Haven II, so the action and stakes are really starting to rack up! I sure hope you stay entertained. In the meantime, thank you all for the support of UniKirby, which ended recently. It's kinda my most popular one yet!

Also, I think I'm gonna phase out the Question of the Week because it doesn't seem to be very successful. Oh, well. Not everything works.

SPACEHOG FROM MOBIUS III:
CHAOS HAVEN II

Previously...due to Sonic feeling guilty about a previous incident, Tails initiated a trip to Whisker Haven's past that the Palace Pets and Ms. Featherbon stowed away on. With the help of their new ally Kirby, the heroes were able to return to the present, but Metal Sonic's interference caused a dystopia to come from Whisker Haven. In their investigation attempt, Ms. Featherbon was drained of her magic and began to fade from existence.

Now...the heroes prepare to meet back up with Uncle Chuck after escaping from the fortress that appeared in place of the Pawlace.

Chapter 6:

"Alright, just a few more wires…"

While the heroes were busy infiltrating the metallic fortress, Chuck quickly gathered the remains of the DeLorean and moved them outside the remnants of Whisker Haven, in order to avoid capture. When he went back in for supplies, he used a patented invisibility cloak to remain hidden.

"A-ha! Finished!" The last wire for the time circuits was connected, and the DeLorean was back in ship-shape condition.

As he did that, the transformed Warp Star touched ground, and the heroes took in their surroundings. "Well, you were gone a while," said Chuck.

"We got captured, and Ms. Featherbon had her magic drained!" said Kirby.

"And she's starting to fade from existence!" As Sonic said that, the fairy groaned, looking more transparent by the minute on Sultan's back.

"In that case, we mustn't waste any time!" proclaimed Chuck. "Everyone in! No time traveler left behind! That means you, Ms. Featherbon!"

The heroes quickly piled into the DeLorean. As the door closed, Sonic inputted June 10, 199X, 11:05 AM into the time circuits. "Alright, Unc, take us to the Lake of Wishes!" he said, anxiously.

Chuck activated the DeLorean's hover mode and began to fly the car towards the Lake of Wishes. "What's the historical significance of that date?" he asked, looking at the time circuits.

"I believe that's the date Metal Sonic took over Whisker Haven for the first time," explained Pumpkin.

"Yeah, he did imply he took my DeLorean to go back there," agreed Tails. "Wait, the Flux Capacitor was destroyed! How'd he use it?"

Just then, a laser of magic was shot at the car. Quickly, Chuck slammed on the gas and the DeLorean quickly reached 88 MPH, vanishing just as the laser was to make contact.

[Current Time: June 10, ?, 11:05 AM]

Everyone stopped screaming as the more familiar bright sky of Whisker Haven appeared. "Oh, man, that was close!" shouted Kirby. He looked around at the sight that reminded him of Dream Land back home. "So this is what Whisker Haven normally looks like?" he asked.

"Y-y-yes…" Ms. Featherbon choked out. Her decreasing magic combined with fading from existence was doing a real number on her.

"Okay, Mr. Chuck," said Treasure, "take us to that spaceship thingy!"

"Can the DeLorean even go into space?" questioned Sonic.

"No time to wonder!" declared Chuck. "We're already at Little Planet!"

Sure enough, the gang had already arrived at the Lake of Wishes. The old sight of the mechanized Little Planet was there, with the Death Egg Model S floating nearby. The gang braced themselves for the ascension and the car was slowly driven upward.

As soon as he saw his metallic counterpart, Sonic leapt out of the DeLorean and drilled into a Super Sonic Spin Attack.

The DeLorean and its inhabitants had survived the space travel and managed to find Metal Sonic's location by tracking the other DeLorean.

"Okay, Metal," said Sonic, pinning the robot to the ground. "Game over! We're not letting you change our victory!"

"Oh, my innocent, loathsome copy," said Metal Sonic. "I believe I already have!" He activated his Ring Spark Field attack, but this time, not only did it electrocute Sonic, sending him flying, but it also caused the seven Chaos Emeralds to suddenly burst through the floor.

"So that's how you did it!" proclaimed Tails. "You upgraded your circuitry to attract the emeralds!" The rest of the heroes had exited the DeLorean at that point.

Metal Sonic allowed the Chaos Emeralds to enter his body, and a yellow aura appeared around him, as well as his eyes becoming red. It was the exact same form that he had taken when Sonic and his friends infiltrated Dr. Eggman's fortress on Angel Island.

"Well, that's turning the tables!" said Sultan.

Instantly, Metal Sonic activated his V. Maximum Overdrive Attack. Sonic, Tails and the Palace Pets attempted to attack, but with the combined chain of attacking, they were easily thrown to the side. "You see? I'm just as unstoppable as last time!" said Metal. He looked at Tails. "And there aren't any hidden mechanisms to trap me with this time!"

"Y-yes, but you forgot me!" stated Ms. Featherbon, flying behind Metal Sonic. She was about to make the ultimate sacrifice again. She pointed her wings at Metal and sent balls of magic at the robot. At the added energy, the emeralds burst out of the robot, similarly to how she previously amplified them to spread the Chaos energy to all of the heroes last time. However, as soon as the emeralds exited Metal Sonic, Ms. Featherbon let out an anguished cry and fell to the ground.

"Ms. Featherbon!" choked Pumpkin. Looking at the purple emerald, she remembered the odd burst of power she received the previous time she used it. The puppy grabbed the emerald and felt the burst of power return. "To restate what Sonic said: game over!" She delivered a swift kick into Metal before he could stand up, sending him across the room.

Sonic got back up, having recovered. "Nice going, Pumpkin!" he said. He ran up and performed another Spin Attack on Metal.

"Okay, enough sitting around," said Metal, some wires protruding from him. He began to shoot out balls of electricity at everyone.

"Not on my watch!" said Kirby. He previously was making sure Ms. Featherbon was okay, but after her heroic sacrifice, he felt inclined to help out. He jumped in the spark balls' way and inhaled every single one of them.

"Hah! Spit 'em back out!" said Tails, getting back up.

Kirby obliged, spitting out a huge star at Metal Sonic. It was then that he noticed something: no more wires were protruding than when Pumpkin attacked. That gave him an idea. "Pumpkin! Attack him again!"

"Gladly," said Pumpkin, bowing. She ran up and pounced onto Metal Sonic, causing more wires to come out.

Sultan seemed to understand Kirby's theory. "My turn!" He jumped onto Metal and began repeatedly punching him. Metal Sonic didn't do anything to retaliate.

Ms. Featherbon slowly flew back up after seemingly being dead. "I...I feel better…" she said.

"Okay, I've got it locked down!" Tails decided. "Pumpkin does one attack, weakening Metal, and then we gang up on him!"

"Let's do it to it!" said Sonic, giving a thumbs-up.

And so, Pumpkin gave one more punch, and Treasure and Sultan both pounced on Metal. Pumpkin kicked again, and Sonic and Tails each performed a Spin Attack. One last attack from Pumpkin was followed by Kirby inhaling everyone and spitting them back out as a huge star, causing Metal Sonic to completely blow up.

Pumpkin set down the Chaos Emerald. "Does anyone else think that was a little...harsh?"

"Maybe," said Treasure, "but at least we set time back on track."

"Wait, where are the other emeralds?" asked Kirby.

Uncle Chuck suddenly appeared. "Ah! I was simply returning them to Knuckles while you were battling!" he stated. "And I will take this last one!" He took the purple emerald and suddenly vanished once more.

"Huh, his invisibility cloak does work," said Sonic.

"Well, thank goodness that is over!' said Ms. Featherbon, her usual chipperness returning.

"You're feeling better, Ms. Featherbon?" asked Treasure.

"Well, not entirely," said the hummingbird, "I'm still feeling a little sore from using magic while drained. But I no longer feel like I am vanishing."

"That's good to hear," said Uncle Chuck, reappearing once more. "That means history is finally back on track!"

"Wow! Were we really going down that hallway for that long?" said Sonic in surprise, reflecting on what was happening from his past self's perspective.

[BGM: Alan Silvestri - Back To The Future Part III: Point Of No Return (The Train Pt. III) - From "Back To The Future, Pt. III"]

"Actually, you are just watching me transform," the heroes suddenly heard Metal Sonic say.

"Wait, what?" said Kirby. "I thought we destroyed him!"

Metal Sonic burst out of the wall, looking no worse for wear. "Well, prior to the Phantom Ruby's appearance," he explained, "Master allowed me to transfer my AI to new bodies. I was prepared when I performed this takeover." He zoomed off and entered one of the DeLoreans, before driving off.

"Okay, looks like we're not quite done yet," said Tails. Everyone piled into the remaining DeLorean and began to follow him.

When they got close enough, Chuck took out some odd module objects. "What are those?' asked Kirby.

"These are Flux Synchronization Modules," explained Chuck. "They can magnetically attach to the DeLorean and allow us to remotely hijack it. I usually use them for testing, but this will be our first real usage of them."

Kirby noticed they were still high in the air. "Allow me to do the honors, sir." He began to perform his copy meditation again. This time, he saw himself bouncing on a floating feather before gaining an Indian chief's headdress and face makeup.

He was now Wing Kirby!

"WIth this ability, I can fly more easily!" Kirby took the modules from Chuck's hand.

Sonic opened the door. "Ready, Kirb?"

"Ready!" said Kirby. He leapt out of the DeLorean and began flapping the wings attached to the headdress. Flying up to Metal Sonic's DeLorean, he placed the first module onto the left side of the hood of the car. "And that's one…" Kirby jumped off and flew to the other side, placing the second one on. "And that's two…"

"I see what you're doing!" shouted Metal Sonic, catching Kirby off-guard. Metal jabbed the car to the side, causing Kirby to lose his grip and fall. In his panic, Kirby forgot all about his flying.

"Kirby, no!" cried Ms. Featherbon. She opened the small portion of the window and flew out. Holding her talons down to Kirby, she let him grab them and began flying back up with her restored strength.

"Thanks, Ms. Featherbon!" said Kirby when they reached the top of Metal's DeLorean. He placed the final module onto the roof of the car. Not wanting to be knocked off, he quickly jumped off and flew back towards Chuck's DeLorean.

"Nice job, Kirby!" said Sonic, opening the door to let him and Ms. Featherbon back in. "Alright, Unc! Take us home!"

Chuck closed the door once the two were back in. He pressed some buttons that were not there before. "Hold on, everyone! I'm testing an add-on based on the Dimensional Displacement Capacitor to allow spatial displacement, but we have to go faster to activate it!" He pressed his foot on the gas and began to accelerate the car towards 111 MPH.

At that moment, Metal Sonic inputted the date on his own DeLorean to the present day. "Enough running," he said, "time to return to the present." He thought he was accelerating the car on his own, but he was actually being remotely controlled. He was surprised to see the car go to 111 MPH. "What the?" Just then, he suddenly found himself in front of a familiar-looking lab. "Oh, nooooooooooooooooooo-!"

"Alright, Metal Sonic, it's time to put you in lockdown!" said Charles. He stuck a USB drive-like object into the robot's ear, causing sparks to fly and the robot to power down.

"Well, that's finally over!" said Sonic, wiping his hands. He turned to Kirby and the Palace Pets. "Say, you've never gotten a proper tour of Mobius before! Why not stay the night?"

Little did the heroes realize that they were being watched through a hidden camera set up beforehand. "Yes, go ahead. Have a sleepover," the witness said. "Tomorrow, I will continue where Metal Sonic left off…" And then he started to laugh. "Hohohohohohohohohoho…!" Then he began coughing.

To be concluded...and next time: the final chase!

Next chapter: It's the fantastic "Final Chase Through Time" of Sonic's newest time travel adventure! Ms. Fetaherbon is no longer fading, her magic is easily returnable, and history is back on track! Time to close the book, right? Wrong! A certain scientist has one more trick up his sleeve, and it'll take Uncle Chuck's new 8-person time machine to stop him! The thrilling conclusion to our tale!

Postface: Gotta say, I'm pretty proud with how this chapter turned out compared to the original version. I think raising the stakes a little helped.

Trivia time! As you can see, the idea of going back to the first story was reused from Back to the Future Part II. I just think it's pretty clever using time travel to go into the events of a predecessor. Metal Sonic's powered-up form is taken from Part 5 of Sonic Mania Adventures, and works much like how it does there - it's not quite Super Metal Sonic, but it's still a match for you-know-what! Finally, the climax of this chapter is based on that of Back to the Future: The Game's fifth episode, down to the use of those Flux Sync Modules. The bit with spatial displacement at 111 MPH was my idea, though. Fun fact: the reason why 88 is the speed for time travel is just because the directors liked how it looked on the speedometer! Also, Pumpkin's super-powered form returns! Just what is her odd connection to the Chaos Emeralds? And who is watching the heroes at the end of the chapter (it's probably obvious...)?
