Yay! I'm actually writing stuff again! This is gonna be pretty short. Enjoy!

Bombalurina's POV

I crouched beside Macavity, watching the drugged cats below with slight pride of my work before glancing up at Old Deuteronomy, who looked alarmed. Couldn't imagine why.

"Yes!" Macavity laughed, turning to the white queen as well. "The time has come to make the jellicle choice, so," he paused, probably for dramatic effect. "Old Deuteronomy, if you would!"

Old Deuteronomy just stared at him calmly.

I scowled. Old age must have taken a toll on her mind, bevause it was clear what he was a asking for.

Ma cavity cleared his throat. "As I am the only contestant left," he chuckled. "And quite obviously the best."

Old Deuteronomy did nothing.

Macavity held his arms out rather over-dramatically. "And so-"

Suddenly, Old Deuteronomy yanked one of his outstretched arms down.

"Never." She hissed.

Macavity growled, low and guttural in his throat. It wasn't a welcoming sound.

Old Deuteronomy kept her tranquil expression. "I judge a cat that deserves a new life." She said firmly.. "I choose the cat by its soul." She unnecessarily emphasized the last word.

"He's got soul!" I protested impatiently.

"I have plenty of soul." Macavity added, reserving a small smile out of the corner of his mouth for me.

"You're a cheat, Macavity." Old Deuteronomy snapped.

Macavity's hackles rose. With a wave of his paw, the three of us were transported immediately to the barge.

I landed on a pile of ropes a few feet away from the old leader. The other cats Macavity had kidnapped were still there- the two fat ones were chained in a corner, the skinny ginger was hanging from the large wench in the center of the barge, and the old one was weighted down by heavy chains. Griddlebone sat down beside me, and we watched as Macavity chuckled beside Old Deuteronomy.

"I am the jellicle choice," he hissed, pushing her chin towards him so she was forced to look. "And I demand that you grant me another life."

Old Deuteronomy, though clearly afraid, faced him. "You will never go to the Heaviside layer."

"We'll see about that!" Macavity growled. "Growltiger! Make her walk the plank."

Griddlebone and I leaned forward in anticipation simultaneously. This would be good.

Growltiger hissed at the old queen, armed with a long stick. H prodded her back, forcing her to step forward onto the wood plank.

"Say it to me!" Macavity snarled. "Or you'll drown in that river!"

"You'll never be the jellicle choice!" Old Deuteronomy shot back

I stood, tail flicking curiously. Even though I didn't like the musty old queen, she had grit.

"This is your last chance!"

"Never!"

I rolled my eyes. Old Deuteronomy was stupid to trade her life for this. But she could still change her mind, she wasn't anywhere near the edge yet…

All I could do was watch and wait.

I'm so sorry, I literally have no idea how to end this. Rate and review, and the next part is coming out soon!
