CHAPTER SIXTEEN

GREAT HALL

Breakfast had just started. When feeling restless, Harry, Hermione and Draco made their way down to the great hall. Although the heads didn't have classes this week they were asked to make an appearance at meals. The fact that there was a crowd of people around so any Wesley should be worried that anything should be witnessed. To be on the safe side Draco insisted that Harry and Hermione take their places at he Slytherin table instead of their usual Gryffindor table. To try and curtail any unwanted advances.

When the Wesley pair did walk in they were chatting amongst themselves regarding the meeting with their parents yesterday afternoon. They both recon that the headmistress was lying to them when it came to Harry actually adopting Hermione as family. They also were shocked that they were the only ones in their group that were sitting at the Gryffindor table, as they hadn't really looked around yet.

After yesterdays meeting with the parents and headmistress they were on academic probation. And they were forbidden from going to Hogsmead for the first term. They were angry with this decision as both parents and children didn't really believe that there was anything to fuss about. Sure Hermione ended up in the infirmary who cared. Most of the students ended up there for one reason or another. And Ron swore he didn't hurt her. So why was she there. It must of been someone else.

They were nearly completed their meal when they realised they were still alone. Sheamus, Neville and even Luna had not come near them but sat at other tables. Turning around to the Slytherin's table they were met with a sight that went agains all things natural. There were two Gryffindors at the Slytherin table and they were happy about it.

The owl post was on its way in with a larger than usual amount of letters being brought this time. One settled over head waiting for Hermione to open her palm. Another had the Daily Prophet, and a couple were unknown to her. Draco father's eagle owl dropped two letters in his plate and he let out a string of curses that would make a drunk pirate wish he jumped ship and become a law abiding citizen. Rescuing his letters he placed them aside. Beside him there was not a happy girl. She was looking at a howler. Suddenly it burst open.

Hermione Jean Granger

How dare you get our Ronny and Ginny into trouble with your lies and manipulation. They didn't do anything wrong to you. So you fell down and ended up with a little bump on your head, you will recover. There was no need to get them into so much trouble.

We cant believe we took you in, fed and cared for you and taught our traditions to you and Harry and only to be repaid by you making up stories. How do you live with yourself. Just because you have some little title in the muggle world does not mean you are something here. You should be grateful that our Ronny took a shine to you, because no one else will.

Then there is the matter where you totally embarrassed Arthur at his work, when Aurors of all things came and delivered a piece of paper saying we weren't allowed to be near you, see you or approach you. What rubbish.

Until you see since and take our darling Ronny back don't come to the Burrow. Who do you think you are to talk about the adoption again.

However Harry that doesn't apply to you.

"What the hell? Well we know Mr Craggy got an order in place for you." Was all that Harry could say, as he watched a stunned Hermione wave off fluttering pieces of paper after the howler self-distrusted.

Draco calmly handed his father's letter to Hermione and read his own before she started to read the next letter from her lawyer.

Dear Ms Granger-Potter.

Congratulations on the name change and the Blood Adoption preformed yesterday afternoon.

In relation to the legal matter that was discussed in our meeting prior, all was accomplished. I will personally oversee the properties and manage them to the best of our abilities.

In relation to other matters Radnok has signed and agreed to become you financial adviser and will give six months reports with only needing to meet with you once a year to discuss changes and the like.

I have been approached by a Lord Malfoy to become your secretary for a time. Since his request he has made available his own affairs only for the firm to confirm that he himself has no need for anything and will protect your interests to the best of his abilities even if it means loosing out himself.

Please consider him as we cannot come up with a better find to see to your day to day dealings. Hoping you are well

Jericho Craggy.

Much like a howler, the letter then erupted into balloons, confetti and streams that landed on everyone around Hermione and Harry. They just shook their heads. Delight and amusement filtered around them until a certain Slytherin came up to the trio with Blaze trailing after her.

"Oi ain't he the bastard that gave all those papers to dad?" Ron all but yelled at Ginny. "Wait until I tell mum."

Pansy and Blaze sat down opposite Harry and Hermione. And always being untactful and blunt she opened her mouth. "So your related to me?"

Hermione looked up from her now very papery meal and pushed it aside. "It would seem so. Does that matter?"

"Na not really. It would explain the crest rings though." Pansy pointed to the green ring on her finger.

Hermione looked a the other and saw that it was red. "So one came from a Slytherin and the other from Gryffindor, interesting. Have you contacted you family about it?"

"Na not yet, although you having a crest is evidence enough that you are who you say you are. My parents want me to get to know you and all. They told me that you are blood and I cant ignore that. That one day I might need help with something and I had better not be on the business side of your wand, if you get my meaning." Pansy laughed with Harry and Hermione. Draco just chuckled. Blaze was looking confused as ever.

"Are you meaning to say that the Prophet got it right. That your some sort of Muggle princess, and that you have Midas sitting in your vault?" Blaze spoke up finally as Crabbe and Goyle sat either side of Harry and Blaze effectively stopping anyone else getting close. They didn't exactly care for politics or society but their parents are well of from people who do care about such thing. Sensing extra galleons they stepped up.

"Where the hell have you been, Blaze? Sometimes I wonder how the Hades you made it this far in school?" Pansy blurted out. Then turning to Hermione, "He's got the looks, but there is a vacant sign in the head if you get me." And went on eating.

Draco finally sensing that he could speak and get heard, "Mya, these rags are Pansy Parkinson, Blaze Zambini, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. People this is the Duchess of Cumberland, and some other titles Hermione Granger-Potter."

"So the adoption was true as well?" Pansy gasped widening her eyes. Harry was becoming more and more attractive by the second it seemed. "You really know how to knock 'em down don't you?"

Harry and Hermione just shrugged and finished their drinks. "Harry can you take me back please my head is starting to split. And I don't want to be around anyone when I wont be able to talk or see them." Harry nodded and readied himself and stood helping her to stand as well. Leaning over she placed a kiss on the corner of Draco's mouth and exited they hall.

"And he gets the girl. Shit Malfoy talk about the lottery." Pansy mumbles into her rapidly vanishing meal thanks to Blaze. "And what's with the headache thing? What happened to her?"

Clearing his throat and finishing his own coffee. "It would seem that the Wesley's found out about all of Mya's secrets before she was ready to tell. Furthermore she couldn't return home because her parents were done away with on Dumbledore's order. So she stayed with the Weasleys over summer. Something she wont be doing again. She's set herself up for the holidays in her own house, so shes safe that way. To add salt to a already bleeding wound mamma Wesley decided that it was good for her children to touch what isn't theirs. It seems that we really do need to watch the weasels cause she spent the better part of the first day and the night before in the infirmary or St Margo's because of injuries that were given to her to remind her where she belonged." Draco looked down the table and saw he had every Slytherin's attention. He also saw that he had some Gryffindors looking at the Weasleys in disgust, and undisclosed hatred.

"Apparently this has been going on most of the summer and got worse when she didn't go back to little Ronny on the train." So I am asking all of you to keep an eye out. Report what you see to the head of house or to me. Mya is taking legal action its just going to be a long process at the moment. Thanks." With that the impromptu house meeting was dismissed and the students left for classes. Pansy remained.

"So what does that mean?" She asked quietly.

"It means that she has a week off to help settle her affairs because he Weasleys deemed it necessary to be present at any and all appointments that she had. That also means that she had a hell of a fight to bury her parents and because of who they were in the Muggle world no one in the wizarding community could attend, least of all ones that draw attention to our kind. It means she was alone when she shouldn't of been."

Pansy nodded," But what about you Drake?"

"It means I have a shot at her. She agreed to date me but it has to be at her pace, and considering what she has just come away from you cant really blame her." Draco stood and was about to walk away when he turned back. "I have the week off as well, to help her. I am only going to show her that I am someone she could rely on."

"I will come round later after class." And Pansy was gone.

Draco walked out after and followed the track that Harry and Hermione took a few minutes a go.
