Hi! Themusicmaniac here!
Sorry I have been so late! Finals take up a lot of time, and I wanted to pass all my classes! GAHHH!
Anyway, they're over, so finally I have some more time to work on this!
tompotter38: Assuming that Bulba was telling the truth about his past with Waddlemeyer, I believe that the two would have at least been good friends. I really wanted to explore what that past may have been for Gosalyn and how she felt about it. Also, it makes it much more dramatic a betrayal for her, and I think exploring her relationship with Bulba as well as Darkwing will be good development. The hiding plan will be unfolded below:)
SciFiGirl253: I'm glad you're enjoying it! Here it is!
Lexienoha: I love a good oc/self-insert fanfic. That is why I started writing my own! I also love Bonkers and feel that his world isn't explored enough. I really appreciate your feedback on him, it makes me so happy that I wrote him that well.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week! Here's a longer one. Enjoy!
Gosalyn's plan was so brilliant that by the day that McDuck was to meet Bulba we had made an art of hiding.
Everyday we would switch between 5 locations: the lab, the bridge that led into the city, the library, the park and the Waddlemeyer's house.
Some days we were at all five. Others only three. Some days we would be at a location twice. Our schedule was never regular. We kept lookout when the other slept.
After a few days we were able to get me other clothes and a shower two times a week. But otherwise, we were able to avoid Bulba and Steelbeak pretty easily.
By the time night came, we waited outside McDuck labs and watched Scrooge, and a young teenage Huey and Louie enter the lab with Bulba. Only one of them wore a hat in this universe, so that was different. I made a mental note to try to find out more about that later.
"Okay, how do we get in?" I asked as we watched from the bushes.
"I saw a window cleaning lift around the other side of the building… so how about we use that to get to the Ramrod?" Gosalyn suggested, shrugging.
"But the building's covered in glass, there's no windows." I said, frowning. "Unless we wanted to try to go through the vents systems again."
"I have another idea…" Gosalyn zipped open her backpack and took out one of her arrows.
"Your arrow?" I asked.
"It should be sharp enough to cut through the glass. We'll cut through it like spies, push the glass through…"Gosalyn said, making a pushing motion with her free hand.
"And get in without tripping the alarms!" I smiled. "Brilliant!"
Gosalyn smiled back at me, then flipped her hood over her head.
"Ready?"
"Ready." I said, following her lead. "I've got your back."
Gosalyn left the safety of the bush and ran towards the building as I followed, looking for anyone that saw us. We both stepped onto the lift and I looked out at the sidestreet next to us. There were three figures that were standing there, but I couldn't make them out. There wasn't enough light to see them.
Gosalyn started the lift.
"Hey Gosalyn?" I said, watching the three strangers on the ground. "I think we may have company."
"Already?"
"I can't make them out, so I don't know if it'll jeopardize the mission." I said, watching the three of them stare at us. "You go find your grandfather, I've got your back."
"Got it." Gosalyn carved the hole and crawled inside. "Valerie?"
"Yeah?" I looked back at her.
"I'll look for your home too."
"Thank you, Gosalyn." I watched her run further into the building. I turned back to study the three ducks in the street. Something about them looked familiar, but it was dark and I couldn't quite pinpoint them from this distance, but they were coming closer. I raised my acorn launcher and watched them. One of them leapt towards the building and I prepared myself to fight. Or at least keep them at bay.
That was when he stepped into the street light.
It was Darkwing Duck.
So he exists in this universe! And the other two, they were Launchpad and...blue shirt kid? Wait, was that Dewey Duck? How did that happen? Dewey's supposed to be with McDuck. Drake was supposed to adopt Gosalyn!
A grappling hook caught onto the railing next to me and I gasped.
Wait… he thinks I'm the villain! This realization came upon me quickly and I felt the blood drain down my face. I didn't want to actually shoot acorns at anyone! Especially not Darkwing Duck! That was a last straw defense. And Darkwing was the champion of right!
Right?
I panicked as I tried to pry the grappling hook off the railing, but Darkwing flew up above it.
"Suck gas evil doer!" He launched a smoke bomb at me and I coughed from the sudden smoky intake.
"Oh-" I backed up out of the smoke and ran into the other side of the railing coughing. I noticed the hazy form of launchpad through the dissipating smoke.
"I'll take care of this villian, you two go in and find the other one." Darkwing announced.
"No!" I yelled. "Gosalyn, watch out!"
I aimed my acorn launcher at DW's grappling hook, as it was still in his hand from grappling up here. "I really don't want to do this Darkwing…" I shot and he yelled and dropped it. We both dove for it and it fell off the lift. Scrambling to try and get up, I lost my footing. I grasped for anything that I could find, and missed.
I felt gravity give way to the earth below before I finally caught onto something that stopped my descent.
It was Darkwing's hand.
"Thank you." I said in awe as he pulled me up.
"All in a day's work, citi-" His demeanor changed completely, "Wait I'm supposed to be arresting you!" I ripped my hand out of his and jumped through the window. I ran for Gosalyn, this mission was a bust.
All I was thinking about was Bulba's return as I ran to the stairwell. Before the mission, Gosalyn and I agreed on one thing: no matter what happened, Taurus Bulba can't see us.
I booked it down the stairs to Gosalyn as Darkwing ascended the Ramrod and made his speech: "I am the terror that flaps through the night. I am the turnip in your beet salad. I am Darkwing- wait where are you going, I'm not done yet."
Both of us raced to the rope that Gosalyn used to get down in the center of the room. That was our escape.
Darkwing, Launchpad and Dewey got there first.
Darkwing picked Gosalyn up by her hood. "Not so fast- little girl?"
"Let me go!" Gosalyn yelled, struggling against him. "Taurus Bulba can't see us!" She kicked Darkwing in the face and he let her go.
I met her right there, connected her winding apparatus to the rope, and hugged her as she propelled our way to safety.
We made it to the top of the building and took the emergency stairs down. Gosh, I wish I had emergency stairs the first time down.
We ran as far as we could away from the building and did not stop until we were five blocks away.
"What… was that!" Gosalyn yelled.
"Darkwing duck." I breathed. "I thought he existed in this universe, but I didn't expect him to be here!"
"Wait." Gosalyn panted, "What do you mean you thought he existed in this universe?"
"Gosalyn, I guess I should tell you…" I took a deep breath. Should I tell her? It could mess things up.
On the one hand, it could make some things easier. Like knowing stuff about other characters and stuff. On the other hand, if she asks me something about herself…
"The last couple weeks… a lot of the things that I have seen… They've mirrored shows in my dimension."
"Well yeah, that's part of Solego's theory, you said something similar to that earlier."
"Yeah but Darkwing had a show in my dimension."
"I'm pretty sure it's a show here too."
"Wait, what?" I stopped.
"It's a show here," She said typing on her phone, "See?" There was an ad for Darkwing Duck on the phone. Honestly, it looked more like The Dark Night Rises rather than Darkwing.
"But…" If the show existed here, and Gosalyn existed here, then she isn't in the show?
"Does he have a sidekick of any kind? Or a daughter?"
"Sidekick? Daughter?" She asked, taking her phone back and typing into it. "What kind of Darkwing Duck exists in your dimension?"
"What kind of Darkwing Duck exists in your dimension?" I retorted, "In television and real life."
"Let's find out." She pulled a smoke bomb out of her pocket. "I can do some analysis on this with my grandfather's microscope in the garage."
"And Dewey was filming too." I added, remembering the kid's Waddle phone. "Maybe he put the video on the internet."
"Dewey?" Gosalyn asked as we started walking towards the house.
"The kid." I replied. "He confused me because he's supposed to be part of a completely different show in my dimension."
"So the other guy is part of your Darkwing Duck?"
I nodded. "And Bulba's a villain, and… " I hesitated. Saying the next part could put her on edge. Maybe I should tell her later. Yeah… that's for the best.
"And maybe his hideout is on the bridge." I said. "That's how it is in my dimension at least."
"Hmm…" She said, typing on her phone, "Waddle says it was in an office building in this dimension's series."
"So, I guess both series are really different." I said, as we walked along. "If I'm stuck here long enough, I'll have to watch your dimension's version."
Gosalyn gave a dry laugh. "I guess I'll have to watch it too."
I found Dewey's livestream while Gosalyn analyzed the smoke bomb. He had been livestreaming all night. And even was livestreaming the way into Darkwing's secret hideout!
Why would Darkwing let him do that?
And there were 21 people on the livestream!
"Gosalyn, I was right! He was on the bridge."
"Really?" She said, looking away from the microscope that she held. "I guess that makes sense. Let me see..." She separated some of the edge of the smoke bomb and put it in a test tube. She mixed it until the paper outside from the bomb was completely combined into the water. She then put the two ends wires with a small light connected to it into the water. It lit.
"One more test." She took another sample and dissolved it. She then walked over to a cabinet filled with bottles and took out one of them. She put it's contents into the water and it turned blue.
"Salt water!" She yelled. "They would need to be by the bay for this much salt to be on the smoke bomb!"
"There's also some iron, sweat, and a little bit of what appears to be some kind of artificial glazed donut spray on there."
"Ew…" Well, I guess we know a lot more about it than we needed to. "So we head to the bridge."
"Of course!" Gosalyn grinned. "This guy claims to fight evil, so he'll have to help us right? Plus, if we can get all of them on our side, we may have a better chance of finding grandpa."
I nodded. "Let's head out to the tower."
I actually find it really funny that Fenton makes Darkwing's tech, because they have this rivalry and the 80's version of Fenton calls him a menace repeatedly. DW's stuff would be right along with his experimental tech, so I'm sure DW may find traces of glazed donut spray every once in a while (maybe from a little bulb accident?)
ALSO DARKWING'S FINALLY HERE YESSSSSSSSSS!
Thank you so much for your rating and reviews it makes my day seeing you write.
See you next week!
