Its been a while, lets go over what has happened.

-A quick catch up at the 10-7-

Nestled on the edge of the central district of Zootopia sat one of the cities hidden gems. Or at least that's what the creator of the 10-7 bar kept telling themselves.

To be honest it was like many bars throughout the city. There was tasty bar food, drink specials, and lots of room for different mammals of all shapes and sizes.

What made this bar so unique was the mammals that inhabited it.

Both the patrons and barkeeps were composed of some of the most quirky yet kind-hearted folks one could hope to meet.

One of those kind-hearted mammals was busy pouring an amber and orange-colored liquid from one of the many taps into a large frosted mug.

With practiced grace, the otter began to lift the glass she had previously been tilting. She released the tap at just the right moment so a thin layer of foam coated the top of the freshly poured beer.

Pleased with her paw work she stood up on the bar and sauntered down the worn wooden countertop.

A pair of dark green eyes landed on a pair of painted dogs currently sitting at the bar. One of them was covered in a series of dark brown splotches, much like most of his species. The other though seemed to be more golden or tan than anything.

A pair of brown eyes met the otter's and she beamed as she stopped in front of the darker of the painted dogs and set the frosted glass in front of the canine before taking a seat on the bartop right between the two handsome dogs.

"Oh, handsome? Look at that Atom, we have been upgraded to handsome," Delta chuckled as he turned to the other painted dog who was busy drinking a large milkshake through a straw.

The lighter of the painted dog's tail began to swish back and forth rapidly at the sound of his name. A pair of bright yellow eyes darting about as Atom felt the effects of the sugar high from the cold concoction in his paws.

The otter reached over and gave Delta a flick of the ear before she settled back on the bar and adjusted her bright red 10-7 bar shirt.

"Shush, you know there is only one mammal around here allowed to break the 4th wall like that."

"She hasn't shown up yet though," Delta scoffed as he took another sip from his glass before smacking his lips and setting the glass on the countertop.

The painted dog took a moment to lean back in his raised bar seat, smirking at the otter.

"Em, how long has it been?"

The otter let out a sigh and looked to the ceiling before smiling back at the painted mammal.

"Two years?"

Delta's eyes went wide and he nearly fell from his bar stool.

"Two years?! He expects us to help recover from a two-year hiatus?!"

"I mean it's not like he has been completely silent…" Em said hesitantly.

"You hear this Atom?! Two years. We are supposed to fill in the gap of two years as if…" Delta trailed off as he looked at Atom who was still happily drinking from his milkshake, the contents never going down. Almost like he had been gifted a bottomless milkshake from a very sorry friend who had totally lost track of time and also because a global pand-

"Ah!" Both Delta and Em snapped as they turned to a lighthouse looking tiki idol sitting on the shelf behind the bar.

"We don't mention the outside remember?" Delta grumbled as he reached for his beer.

"Let's focus on what happened before the hiatus. What's the rule about the word Sorry?"

The otter was obviously referencing the importance of saying "I am Sorry" once otherwise, the word starts to lose meaning.

After all, most folks would probably understand and hopefully be forgiving.

Delta snorted into his beer while Em rolled her eyes before looking back at the painted dogs currently sitting at the bar.

"So what exactly happened before the hiatus again?" Em asked as she crossed her legs and leaned back on her paws.

"Well Judy tried to kiss Nick," Delta chuckled. "But remember it was a dream of a memory. I mean who starts a story like that?"

Em simply smirked.

"Kinda reminded me of We just call them Night-"

A coaster smacked the painted dog right in the center of the snout causing him to blink a few times.

He glanced up at Em who had a stern look on her face, holding up another coaster to get her point across.

Delta seemed to understand and raised his paws defensively, showing he understood and would not bring up the story no one should talk about.

"Anyways," Em said as she cleared her throat. "Judy develops feelings for Nick."

"So original…"

Another coaster smacked Delta on the side of the head but the painted dog seemed unphased as he took another long gulp of beer.

Atom let out a whimper which caused both Em and Delta to look over in concern.

The lighter colored canine was rubbing his temples as he winced.

"Awww...don't drink so fast cutie," Em cooed.

"Goofball…" Delta chuckled.

Atom raised his paws up and began to signal a series of paw gestures.

Em waited patiently before looking over at Delta who acted like a kind of translator for the mute canine.

"He says that don't forget Nick turned down the kiss but still wants to be friends with Judy. Geeze the more I think about it the more cliche it is."

At that exact moment, a ceiling tile fell from above and landed in the chair right next to Delta, causing the painted dog to jump.

"I mean it's refreshing to see ones take on the future of Judy and Nick...that's totally what I meant."

Em snickered at her friend's shenanigans before a pensive look crossed her muzzle.

"So they established that Judy hadn't ruined the friendship then what?"

"Tundra Town avalanche," Delta muttered as he raised a glass.

"And in enters my favorite painted dog in blue," Em said casually.

"I know I am pretty awesome and you are totally not talking about me aren't you…" Delta said, his words trailing off.

Em smirked and wiggled slightly on the bar as she glanced over at Atom and gave him a wink.

"So Tundra Town. Avalanche, confirmed explosives...then enters my favorite otter," Delta said with a suggestive smile.

The otter on the bartop suddenly blushed before placing a paw on her chest, "So suave."

"I have my moments," Delta chuckled.

"So after the Tundra Town avalanche is confirmed to be caused by an explosion Nick and Judy came here to the 10-7," Em said with a smile before a smug realization came across her muzzle. "Oh, and you know who wasn't here! She had gone home so I sent her a message rubbing it in her face."

Delta snapped his paws and laughed, "Oh that's right! She was so annoyed. All this build-up and she wasn't even here."

"She gave him such a hard time for that one...oh gosh I still remember watching the coasters fly," Em snorted.

Atom let out a snort of his own, getting Em and Delta's attention.

The canine made a few paw gestures before returning to drinking his milkshake.

"So as Atom was saying. After the night at the 10-7, we get to the big event."

"One of them," Em corrected.

"Right, thanks Em," Delta chuckled. "Well, this was the incident at the Rainforest Climate control facility. Something exploded in the facility. Nick and Judy were the first to arrive. They searched the facility to rescue some hold outs and just before they opened the door to the control room-"

"That handsome fox of Judy's-"

"Well handsome friend of Judy's…" Delta corrected.

Em rolled her eyes at the correction before continuing, "Nick detected something wrong.."

"Sounds like he is gunning for your job there Atom," Delta chuckled, giving his fellow K-9 a playful nudge.

Atom seemed unphased by the suggestion as he continued to sip at his ice cream filled drink.

"So that wasn't too bad," Delta said as he finished his beer and set the empty glass on the table.

"We have Judy confused about her feelings, Nick unsure where their friendship is going, and…"

"Someone trying to blow up the city," Delta said playfully as he started to stand up from the bar. "Exactly like Nighthowlers."

Another piece of ceiling fell from above, only this time it smacked Delta right on top of his stupid head, knocking the overly smug and sometimes annoying to a fault canine out.

Both Atom and Em froze to what they had just witnessed.

As one they looked over at a lighthouse tiki on the shelf behind the counter, the small lamp inside flashing innocently.

"So now that you have that out of your system," Em said with a sigh as she stood up on the bar, placing her paws on her hips and staring at the tiki idol. "Get back to work!"
