Meanwhile elsewhere in the galaxy
Ronan, now 17 years old sat outside of the resistance base writing in a small dark brown leathered book which served as his personal journal. He sighed deeply as he wrote in the empty page of his journal, remembering the events that led both him and his mother to the safety of the Resistance.
"It's been nearly six years since dad disappeared and we told to go into hiding on his home planet, Tatooine. For three years, we managed to stay hidden with the help of mom's old friend, Kaya who runs and owns the bakery but is also a secret agent for the Resistance. We were only told to never leave and to not make any noise for the customers and workers will see us. I know the main reason is because someone will hear or see us and more likely betray us,"
Ronan took a ragged breath as he continued to write in his journal, the tip of his fingers shaking slightly.
"I can still remember that horrid day when the First Order led by Kylo Ren and bucket head Phasma came for us. That's when we realized that we were betrayed. We don't know the name…but I remember the damned merchant's gloating smirk when she saw us be taken by the first order. We don't know why but mom always told us these type of people are desperate for money,"
"Ronan!" He heard his mother call to him, making him look up and close the book.
"Where are you?!"
Ronan stood up, putting the journal in his inside pocket of his jacket and ran to find his mother, walking around the entry to the base.
"I'm here," Ronan called as he ran up to her, making her turn to face him.
"I had a feeling you be out here," Tonia said, smiling wearily at him.
"Writing in your journal,"
"Both me and Ava's journal," Ronan replied, while nodding his head in reply.
His mother nodded her head in understanding while running her hand through her wavy hair.
"I'm sorry mom…I," Ronan said feeling ashamed for mentioning his sister's name but his mother held her hand up.
"I know," Tonia replied.
"You miss her but you have to be strong for me….and for your father…and sister…"
Ronan nodded his head as he hugged her, wrapping his arms around her stiff shoulders before pulling away.
"Now then, I believe your aunt or the general wants to see you," Tonia said, smiling warmly at him.
"Another mission," Ronan asked, anxiously but excitedly.
"We'll see," Tonia chuckled with amusement as they walked inside to find General Organa talking with one of the admirals.
"General," Tonia called, making the elderly Organa turn to face both her sister in law and nephew with a warm smile.
"I was hoping you'd be outside again, Ronan," General Organa said as she walked toward them.
"Still writing in that small journal of yours,"
"Yes General," Ronan replied nodding his head.
"I was just thinking of the events that have occurred in the past three years,"
General Organa nodded her head in understanding, knowing exactly what events he is referring to such as being in hiding then later betrayed, escaping the first order and having members of the Resistance rescue them. She sensed the pain writhing in his heart that they have to leave behind his sister who sacrificed herself to give her mother and brother more time to escape.
"General, I believe you have a mission for my son here," Tonia asked nervously.
General Organa snapped out of her thoughts and nodded her head in reply.
"I do…you will go with Poe Dameron to planet, Jakku," She said, looking at him.
"An old friend of mine has the key or rather the map to Luke Skywalker,"
Ronan's eyes widened in shock and surprise followed his mother's gasp.
"Luke," Tonia said, shakily.
"Dad…" Ronan said, placing a hand over his mouth, preventing a gasp from escaping his lips.
"He's…alive,"
His thoughts then drifted to his sister who he had been praying that she is alive and escaped the First Order just like him and his mother.
"Ronan….ronan," His aunt and mother call to him, snapping him out of his trance.
"Sorry," He said, becoming stiff causing both his mother and aunt chuckle with amusement before they relaxed for a brief moment.
"We will find your father and your sister," General Organa said, smiling assuringly at him.
"Even Ben…for now and for their sake I need you to be brave. Can you do that for me?"
Ronan took a deep breath, knowing that he is about to get himself into the great battle of all time since the galactic rebellion but also a much dangerous mission.
"Yes general," He said, nodding his head.
"Good boy," General Organa replied, smiling softly at him while patting his shoulder.
"Ronan..." Tonia said as she walked up to him.
"Yes mom," Ronan asked turning to her, when he was cut off by his mother hugging him tightly.
"Be careful," She said as they pulled away, causing her son to nod.
"I will," Ronan replied nodding his head in understanding.
Ronan then took off most likely to find the resistance pilot, with Tonia watching him disappear from her sight.
"He has much of his father in him," Tonia said, walking up next to her sister in law.
"Just like Ava,"
