"Ground Zero." The ghost of a whisper left my lips.
"Do you," the criminal growled, pressing Iida's head into the wall even more, "Have any idea what you just did?"
"I-I'm sorry!" Iida blubbered. Now he was the one crying, in place of me. "Please let me go!"
"Let you go?" Zero snarled. "Like how Ochako was begging you to let her go just now?"
Iida didn't reply, so Zero simply started letting small yet powerful explosions go off in the hand rapped around the blue haired man's neck. By now his gloves were getting covered with blood but the explosion theif either didn't notice or didn't care.
Slowly, a grin pulled at the corners of Zero's mouth. It was nothing like the flirty and playful ones he displayed to me. No, this one was purely sinister.
"Let me let you in on a little secret," he said, inching his face closer to the terrified man. "I am very protective of what belongs to me. And when you try to hurt those things...well..."
He rose his left hand and trailed an index finger down the shivering Iida's cheek, the action leaving soot in its wake.
Ground Zero smirked at the raw fear in his victim's eyes. "It doesn't end well/"
"I-I'm sorry! L-Let me g-go!" Iida sobbed in terror.
I could only watch the scene in a stunned silence. My hands pressed against the wall behind me, allowing me to keep my bearings. I knew Ground Zero was scary, why else would he be the most terrifying criminal in Japan, but to actually see him be so frightening was another thing altogether. I could be only glad that I wasn't on the receiving end of his fury.
"I think I should punish you," Zero decided. "A punishment fit for the crime."
He lowered his had, explosions already going off and hovering above Iida's lower area.
Ground Zero looked back up at him and grinned.
Iida's eyes widened impossibly further once he realized his intentions. "No, no man! Come on, you can't do that! You understand why y-you c-can't!"
His face was now pale white in suspended horror. I slightly winced when I understood the meaning of Zero's punishment, knowing that it would most definitely hurt a lot, probably one of the most painful things a male could go through.
"Why not?" Zero drawled. "You had no problem touching Ochako there."
Iida paled even further at the new burst of fury flaming in his captor's eyes, now dread making his stomach sink.
"Yes, I saw. You touched a place where no one is allowed to touch. And now I'm going to repay the favor."
Zero raised his hand, about to set his target's dick ablaze, when he was stopped by my cry.
"No, Zero!"
The blond turned his head slowly back to look at me, perplexed at my reason for not letting him go through with it.
"Please, Zero, don't do it," I begged, my brown eyes still moist. Yes, what Iida was going to do to me was horrible, but I couldn't stand by and let him do this. I didn't know if Iida could die, but I wasn't willing to find out.
"Why not? I think he deserves it," Zero retorted.
"But he's drunk! he doesn't know what he's doing."
"He knew perfectly well what he was doing!" he hissed. squeezing Iida's neck tighter in his hold, causing him to let out a pained whimper.
"Please, Zero." My voice broke. "Please don't do this."
Ground Zero stared, icy red eyes slowly thawing. Finally, he shut his eyes with a defeated growl and turned back to Iida.
"Tell anyone what just happened here, and it won't be just your dick I'll be ripping apart," he threatened, teeth bared.
Iida nodded hurriedly, trembling and eager to agree so he could run and cower in his home, under the safety of his blanket.
"You even look at her again, I'll rip you apart. Do we understand each other?"
Iida shut his eyes, let out a few more tears and whimpered.
"I said," Zero growled, leaning closer. "Do we understand each other?"
Iida opened his eyes and nodded more. "Yes. yes, I understand! Please, let me go!"
"Good." Ground Zero brought Iida's head back and slammed it against the wall, effectively knocking him out. As Iida lay sprawled out on the cold ground Zero picked me up a gasping Ochako and used his quirk to get to the top of the shop. He wordlessly carried me all the way to my balcony and set me down.
Once my feet touched the familiar floor I shivered and started gasping for air. A few stray tears leaking from my eyes but I wasn't in full out hysterics. Was I going into shock, I wondered?
He gently picked me up and opened the window leading to my warm bedroom. He placed me on the soft bed and wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug, burying his face into the crook of my neck.
My hands grasped at his suit, my chest was still heaving in pants. My eyes were open, but more tears fell from my cheeks.
He held me slightly tighter.
"Shh, you're safe, Angel," he crooned in my ear. "I'm here, no one is going to hut you."
I only buried my head in his neck as the memories sped in my mind. Iida, letting him walk me home, him pulling me into the alley, him touching and kissing me, then Ground Zero tearing him off me.
How Ground Zero's red eyes seemed to blaze in anger. How his lips were pulled back into a vicious snarl.
"You're alright, Angel," came his soft whisper again. "Nothing is going to harm you."
If Ground Zero didn't show up... if he really followed through with his previous vow to me...
I roughly pulled away from his hold to look in his surprised, yet slightly hurt, red eyes.
"I'm sorry, Zero," I apologized sorrowfully.
His eyes widened at my words. "What are you sorry for? he questioned, my apology not making any sense to him.
"I'm sorry about what I told you. I'm sorry I got in that stupid argument with you. I'm sorry-"
Zero half-smirked and pulled me in for another hug, cutting off my apologies.
"It's going to take more than a little fight to get rid of me," he whispered sweetly with a chuckle.
I sighed in relief and smiled, tightening my hold on him.
After a few minutes, I started to hold back a yawn. My eyes were beginning to droop.
Zero chuckled softly. "I think it's time you get to bed."
"No, no." I shook my head and stifled another yawn. "I'm not tired."
A corner of his mouth quirked up at the sight. "Ok. So, you wouldn't mind just laying down? I mean, It's comfortable, right?"
"Yeah." I shrugged, laying down to prove my point. "It is. But I'm not tired."
"Of course not," he denied, shaking his head. "And what's a blanket, too? Anyone who lounges needs a blanket, right?"
I paused. Then, "I guess so."
Zero hid a smirk as he grabbed my pink blanket and pulled it over me, reaching to just over my shoulders. "There, now. Comfortable, right?"
"Yeah," I agreed. I let out a quiet sigh and closed my eyes. "Comfortable."
"And how about a little darkness?" He reached over my form to turn off the small lamp on the shelf above my head that was in the wall. "Peaceful, hm?"
"Zero?" I asked, my voice lowered due to my half-asleep state.
"Yes?" He replied in a smooth whisper.
"You..." I snuggled into the pillow, my eyes not opening again. "You tricked me."
He grinned at my declaration before brushing his lips over my cheek. He delighted in the soft skin.
"Good night, Angel."
i'm more than likely going to change the point of view into third person because I am finding it very hard to right in first for this story
