Chapter 8: I Feel Ashamed

Author's Note: I posted this on october 31st but for some reason it isn't showing up properly so I'm reposting it. Hope you guys are doing good.

Sabrina stood and watched Puck as he slept peacefully on her bed. He wasn't wearing a shirt and her eyes wandered over his tanned skin. She guessed that he decided to sleep shirtless because he had more privacy in her room.

He was lying on his stomach with his wings folded against his back. Sabrina turned off the light and went towards her window. She closed her curtains but left a small space so some of the moonlight could shine into her room.

She quietly padded over to her bed and stood over Puck. Her hand hovered over his wings and she placed in on the base of his wings. She remembered that it was sensitive there and Puck had liked it when she would touch it.

She gently pressed her hand against and Puck hummed in appreciation. His wings fluttered and the moonlight reflected off of them, making them shimmer. Puck yawned and lazily opened his eyes. "Whatchu doin' there, Grimm?" Puck craned his neck to look back at her.

"Nothing," she blushed and quickly removed her hand. She slipped into bed and felt the heat from his body as she settled in next to him. He rolled onto his side and faced her.

He smirked, "You seem to have a weird obsession with my wings."

"Keep dreaming," she replied as she stared up at her ceiling.

Puck was suddenly floating above her. He was almost touching her but the beating of his wings allowed him to lightly hover over her. He smirked down at her as he noticed how she looked. Almost like the mere sight of his wings was enough to enchant her.

Sabrina gazed up at him and saw how his wings effortlessly kept him in the air. It was so magical. The moonlight seeped in through the crack she left in her curtains. It highlighted his face and her eyes focused on his ears.

Her hand reached up and her fingers brushed his hair away so she could see it better. The pointed tip seemed so normal to her. It definitely wasn't a normal human feature but it didn't look weird to her. Puck was so familiar to her that her heart ached.

Puck shivered when he felt her hand. It was such a casual yet intimate gesture. He stopped his wings and let his body fall on hers. She let out a soft noise of surprise and then groaned. "Get off of me. You're so heavy." She wiggled and squirmed as she tried to get out from under him.

She momentarily forgot that he was shirtless but Puck was forced to remember as she moved against his bare chest. He tensed up. Sabrina was still oblivious as she continued to move. Puck hoarsely said, "Grimm, you gotta stop."

"Huh?" she said as her eyes met his. She inhaled sharply when she saw the dark green of his eyes. She knew his eyes had the ability to change depending on his mood. She froze as realization set in. "Shit, I didn't mean to."

Puck smiled cockily, "There's no need to lie. I'm irresistible."

Sabrina scowled, "You have no effect on me. I think you have it mixed up."

"That's not true."

Sabrina rolled her hips teasingly. "Are you sure?"

Puck narrowed his eyes, "Careful, Grimm. Don't start something you don't want to finish."

She raised a brow, "Do you want me to stop?"

Puck could only shake his head, not trusting his brain to form proper words. Sabrina surged upwards and connected their lips. Puck eagerly leaned down and kissed her back.

He rolled them over so his back was on the bed. Sabrina tangled her hands into his curls and deepened the kiss. She pulled away and let her hands roam over his chest as she kissed down his neck. Puck's eyes remained closed as he felt her kiss his body. She trailed down his chest, going lower and lower.

His eyes snapped open when he realized what she was planning on doing. "Hey, we don't have to do that right now. Come back up here. Let's sleep."

She glanced up in surprise, "You want me to just leave you hanging like this?"

"It's not like that. I'll be fine, I just don't want you to feel like you have to do this. I also don't want anything to happen in case your dad walks in and shoots me."

"Okay, scaredy cat." Sabrina crawled up next to him and snuggled into his side.

Puck, still on his back, wrapped an arm around her and tangled his hand into her hair. As Sabrina drifted off, Puck focused on trying to calm down. It was a bit uncomfortable but he didn't regret his decision. He began to fall asleep once he relaxed.

In the morning, Puck was woken up by the smell of bacon. "Grimm, get off me. I want bacon." He lightly shoved the blonde girl and ran out of the room.

Sabrina tiredly blinked as she woke up. She couldn't believe that fairy pushed her like that. Granted, she knew he did it mostly out of playfulness but still. She's let him off the hook because he was also really sweet last night.

She stumbled out of bed and got ready for school. When she finally went downstairs, she saw Daphne and Puck shoving bacon in their mouths. She looked around and assumed that her parents and Basil already left.

She sat down and began to eat but noticed that Daphne kept looking at her. "What is it, Daph? Everything okay?"

Daphne's eyes widened and she quickly swallowed what was left in her mouth, "I uh- well you see- I just wanted-"

"Gee, Marshmallow. You sure they teach you English at that school you go to," Puck teased.

Daphne took a deep breath, "Yesterday, I heard some rumors."

"Oh? That's not really surprising," Sabrina replied and continued eating.

"Yeah, but I heard something about Bradley." Daphne hesitantly said.

"Who's Bradley?" Puck asked as he chewed his food.

Sabrina froze, "What?"

Daphne began to ramble, "I just heard that he might be coming to school. And I wasn't sure if it was true or not. I'm still not sure if it's true. But I wanted to tell you. Just as like a precaution, you know? I heard he was going to show up today and I-"

"Daph, it's okay. I get it," Sabrina said as she got up.

"Wait, where are you going? You haven't finished eating? Are we leaving?"

"I think I'm going to walk to school today. Do you think you can take the bus today? Actually, Puck can drive you." Sabrina placed her keys on the table.

"But you barely ate," Daphne looked at her sister worriedly.

"I'm not really hungry anymore," Sabrina looked at Puck, "Please don't crash my car, fairyboy," she weakly joked.

Puck was too confused to reply. He waited until she left the house then asked, "What was that all about?"

Daphne sighed, "It's a long story."

"Good thing you talk fast," Puck swiftly replied.

Daphne knew Puck wouldn't drop the topic but she also didn't want to spill Sabrina's secrets like that. "All I'm going to tell you is that he hurt her a lot."

"Marshmallow you have to give me more than that. Grimm's entire mood changed when you said his name."

"Fine. I don't even know the full story but I do know it sucked. I'll give the general story."

She told him a vague retelling of what happened as they cleaned their dishes and tidied the kitchen. She had finished by the time they got to school.

"Do you really think he's back?" Puck asked.

"I don't know. I hope he's not," she replied as she opened the door.

"I'll be back to pick you up," Puck said before she shut the door.

Daphne nodded her head and then turned and walked into school. She felt so nervous. Her eyes darted around but she knew Sabrina was more likely to see Bradley than she was.

/

When Sabrina had arrived at school, she kept her head down. She quickly went to her locker then her class. The door was open and she sat down and listened to music until she heard the bell.

At lunch, Bella had found her and they had gone off school grounds. Luke had a volleyball meeting and Madison was hanging out with Nathan. None of her friends had mentioned Bradley and Sabrina hadn't been surprised. If Bradley was back, the seniors wouldn't talk about it that much. He wasn't that popular.

Bella had noticed Sabrina's mood and had asked her what was wrong. Once Sabrina had explained, Bella immediately understood. She had said that Daphne's grade was probably just making up dumb rumors.

That had made Sabrina calm down a bit but she was still pretty on edge. Why would they make up rumors about Bradley? They didn't even know him. That means it had to be true, right? Maybe it was just someone else named Bradley.

By the time school ended, Sabrina was ready to go home. She knew that Daphne would figure out a way to get home. She began to walk home and saw Luke. Something was wrong. Why did he look so uncomfortable? Did something bad happen at his meeting?

As she went closer, she saw him talking to someone. Luke made eye contact with her and she saw panic in his eyes. The person he was talking to shifted and Sabrina immediately recognized him.

It was Bradley. Sabrina's stomach felt uneasy and all she wanted to do was sprint home. But she refused to look weak. She decided that she would walk by and then start running once she was out of sight.

As she walked by, she heard someone say, "Hey, Sabrina."

She turned around, "Hi."

Bradley continued, "It's good to see you. We should hang out soon and catch up."

Sabrina said, "I'm not sure I want to do that."

Bradley smiled and Sabrina remembered how much she liked his smile. "We can just grab food at that diner you like. It doesn't have to be a big deal."

Sabrina saw Luke shaking his head but she found herself saying, "Okay, I'll think about it." She smiled and continued walking.

She felt so ashamed. She knew she should've said no. Why did she say that she would consider it? God, she was so stupid. She continued walking and had no idea that Puck and Daphne had watched the interaction from inside the car.

/

Sabrina ended her call with Bella as she approached her house. She had called her friend and told her how stupid she felt. Now, she had to tell Daphne.

She walked into the house and saw her sister sitting and eating a slice of pie.

"Daph, I saw him."

Daphne looked up in surprise. She hadn't heard her sister come in. "What happened?"

"Where is everyone?"

"Dad and mom took Basil to a friend's house. They're gonna watch a movie and then pick him up after. Uncle Jake was here but he just left to look at an apartment. I think Puck is upstairs."

Sabrina sighed and sat down across from her sister. She explained what had happened after school. When she was done, Daphne confessed that she had seen it happen but wasn't sure exactly what went down.

"She's right, Grimm. We saw how you and the boy became friends again."

The girls looked up in surprise. Puck was standing there with a cold expression on his face.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

"Yeah, I think I heard you judging me before you even knew the full story."

"Whatever." Puck scoffed, "It seemed like you had no problem forgiving him. Did he even apologize?"

"What the hell? You have no idea what you're talking about. You don't get to say that to me. I didn't just tell him that everything was okay and that I forgave him. But even if I did, why is it your business?"

"Oh? We're just going to pretend like last night didn't happen."

"We made out, Puck. It doesn't mean you get to decide who I can talk to."

Daphne would be excited that something happened between Sabrina and Puck. But she knew this was going to end badly.

"Wow, so you're just going to be friends with him. Even after he hurt you?"

Sabrina's control snapped after he said that. "YOU HURT ME! You didn't visit for THREE YEARS. But when you came back, I forgave you didn't I? You don't know think I feel bad? I feel ashamed. I know I shouldn't talk to him. I know I should just cut him off and move on. But I don't want to just carry around anger and hurt. I need to let it go. I thought I had let it go." Tears welled up in her eyes but Sabrina continued, "But seeing him today made me feel like I didn't get proper closure. I remembered how happy he made me and how good things were and how everything changed."

She stood up, "I get to decide what I want to do. And you don't get to judge me."

She left the house and Puck was left standing there in shock. How could Grimm say that? Was she really going to be friends with Bradley again? And what was all that about him hurting her? When had he done that?

He turned to Daphne but she only shook her head sadly and went upstairs. Daphne got a text from Sabrina that said she would stay the night with Bella and Luke. Sabrina said that she had also texted mom but she wanted to let Daphne know too.

Daphne didn't bother telling Puck that Sabrina wasn't coming back tonight. He could figure it out himself.
