Unsure what this meant, Chloe reached for her phone and dialled Lucifer, lightening cracked above her head but no rain fell.
Lucifer reached for his phone, "Ah Detective, we were wondering where you had got to….. Oh I see….. Yes, yes everything is fine here…. Daniel and I will be there shortly." Lucifer hung up the call, "the Detective has found them!" That was all Lucifer needed to say and Dan was on his feet,
"Well let's get your sister back man and shut down these idiots!" Dan's eyes were as hard as Lucifer's
"Wait, I'm coming too!?" Ella cut in,
"I'm sorry Ella but you need to stay here, I know you can handle yourself but I need to focus and not worry about your safety and besides, I have a feeling you are going to be the one to help Cassiel when I bring her back!" Lucifer's words were firm but gentile,
"I know, I know but I want to be there, help rescue her!" Ella was scared, optimistic and excited all at once,
"I feel the same Ella, even when we bring her home, she is going to need saving and you are the person to do that, I need you here and ready to once again open that big heart of yours to help Cassiel!" Ella had never seen Lucifer look so hopeful and desperate,
"Ok, I can do that Bro, bring our sister home!"
Lucifer landed in an alley next to Chloe's cruiser, "Arghhhhh, don't ever tell anyone you carried me bridal style!" Dan was a little wobbly on his feet, Lucifer gripped his shoulder to steady the man,
"Daniel for once I find no humour in this situation, I thank you for coming to help and I am in your debt!"
"No debt here man, you have saved my daughter more than once and Chloe, just repaying the favour!" Dan had steel in his voice now,
"Thank you." Lucifer's voice was barely a whisper but Dan heard it and nodded back,
"So what now?" Dan started walking toward Chloe's car,
"Now I have to have a little talk with my sister!"
Chloe waited outside of her car, she barely felt the nights chill, she had seen Lucifer land but hung back letting Dan and Lucifer chat or bicker, granted that was one and the same but both men approached her with determination,
"So what's the plan?" She asked without preamble,
"First I am going to have to subdue my sister and then I am going into that building with Daniel, you need to stay outside!" He was firm,
"But, but I can help!" Chloe almost hissed back,
"Normally Detective I would agree with you but not now, not tonight, I need to be the Devil!"
"Are you going to kill them?" Chloe held her breath not really wanting to hear the answer,
"If they force me to, then I will, I have no mercy left, especially in dealing with these cretins,"
"I get that and even maybe understand but you can't, that's not you!" Chloe sounded a little desperate,
"No it is not but I may have no choice! For once Chloe, please do as I ask and stay outside, as much it will pain you to do so but please stay outside, I need to be invaluable against these fools and not have to worry about you being in harms ways too and also I need someone to catch any one running away!" Lucifer was pleading, Chloe had never heard that level of pleading before and she nodded, as much as it would hurt, she would stay out of this one, so she nodded again more firmly,
"Lovely!"
Lucifer stalked across the street, walking with a determination and purpose that few people had ever seen, cars screamed past him but he never slowed or stopped, just weaved his way through the metal as if it wasn't there,
"It's time to come home sister!" Lucifer stated flatly as he approached his target,
"I will go home, once you are dead!" Cassiel screamed out as she lunged for Lucifer.
Lucifer dodged and blocked every blow directed at him, he wanted to amused at his sisters antics but he couldn't bring himself to smile, his movements could be classed as carefully choreographed ballet but his patience was wearing thing,
"Stop this Cassiel, you can't win!" Lucifer snapped,
"But I have to, to save the humans, to go back home, you need to die!" Cassie screamed back, Lucifer blocked another blow,
"This isn't you, fight this, please little one!" Lucifer pleaded and again dodged another hit,
"You will die and I will go home, praised by our father as the saviour of man!" Cassiel swung another fist at her brother,
Lucifer caught her hand with ease, "I am so sorry sister and I hope you will forgive me!"
"You don't deserve forgiveness, you are a monster!" Cassiel had a crazed look in her eyes, her words hit Lucifer hard,
"Yes I am!" Lucifer pulled back and struck Cassiel in the chest, the force of the hit sent Cassiel through the church's solid brickwork walls, "please forgive me little one!" He almost whispered, the last thing he wanted to do was to hurt his little sister.
Lucifer continued forward.
"Dan you better go after him!" Chloe stated in surprise at the force her partner had used,
"On it, I know this must be killing you Chlo but please stay here! I will make sure he doesn't go too far!" Dan leapt up and ran towards the gaping hole in the church's wall, vaulting over the broken brickwork.
The wooden door exploded at the force Lucifer had struck it, he walked through the opening without a care in the world even though the rage within him was barely contained,
"Now this isn't going to be a fair fight!"
One of the priests stepped forward, "No it won't be!" Lucifer was taken aback, not the usual response he received, especially when he was angered,
"What have you idiots done now?" Lucifer queried with lightness in his voice, though his eyes swept the room,
"Silence beast! We had contingencies in place should you have lived past the angel's attack, she clearly failed and will be dealt with and now we have you contained!" Oh this bastard was smug Lucifer thought,
"Oh really? What prey tell makes you think that? Also I would love to hear about how you are going to deal with my sister!" Lucifer locked eyes with the smug priest,
"You should look down!" The grin of the priest was evil. Pure evil,
Lucifer did just that, seeing a circle festooned with symbols and hidden meanings, "Oh is this a key of Solomon? Wow I am almost impressed, love me a bit of historic artwork," Lucifer grinned but it wasn't friendly,
"Now you are trapped, we have the time to end you! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE!" Again the smug priest answered,
"Ah, that may true but you are overlooking one simple fact!"
"Oh and what's that?" One of the priests stepped forward,
"This is a Devil's trap, as in something I may have use for, this is not a trap for the DEVIL!" Lucifer walked out of the circle, "Now where were we?"
