Warnings: attempted rape

Oliver's POV

Another three months passed swiftly by as he finished his training with the League. His skill with a sword had greatly improved and made him one of the top initiates. Al Owal seemed more approving by the day though it was carefully hidden behind his gruff attitude. Something Oliver had learned to see past.

When he wasnt training much of his time was spent with Nyssa as she invited him to call her. For her part, she rarely called him by his given name. Instead, she chose to call him Akhi meaning brother.

Something inside him cried out about someone calling him brother. A memory that was almost there but he was unable to reach. Frustration mounted as he rarely remembered anything new. Most of what he did remember was of fires and a jungle.

A rare exception was a dream he kept having. A man without a face telling him names and asking who killed them. His own voice answering unfamiliar names. Then he would get chided and told no that Jason Bourne killed them. That they were his kills and if he did not remember he would be dead.

That voice calmed him though in a way that reminded him of Al Sayf and Al Owal. Whoever they were, they were considered to be his brother. At least by his heart even if he didnt truly remember them.

It wasnt awkward being called brother by Nyssa. Most of the League considered themselves each other's siblings. With the way they acted around each other it did seem to be a dysfunctional family. For those who had taken their vows at least. Initiates were kept off to the side of things except for those like Oliver who had proven themselves.

Warm fur brushed against his arm drawing his attention back to the world around him. Next to him was Lyal meaning Night. He was an unusually colored desert fox with his fur as black as night. If Ra's had not rescued it, he would not have survived the unforgiving desert heat.

Lyal was his first courting gift to Oliver. Still a young kit they had to watch his diet carefully. A little wary of the creature for the first few days he quickly warmed up to it. Lyal was protective of its new owner and growled at anyone who came near. Even Al Sayf was wary of its sharp teeth.

When he wasnt in training the fox followed him everywhere. Its presence soothed his nerves in a way people couldn't. Lyal was the perfect gift for someone whose mind was so torn.

There was a dark rumble behind him an alpha. It came from one of the lower members of the League. Immediately he stood and turned to face them his face set in stone. Since Ra's had started to show an interest in him lower-ranking members had begun to taunt him away from the ears of the higher ranking.

This particular member had dark brown hair and hazel eyes that were dilated well beyond normal. Either they were in rut or they were on something. Oliver's money was on them being in rut.

The League didnt care what they did as long as it was consensual and not between initiate and mentor. Unfortunately for him, this was not his mentor. Al Owal was away on a mission currently leaving him to fend for himself.

Oliver growled low in his throat, "What do you want?"

Truth be told he didnt know this man's name. Having kept mostly to himself in his time in Nanda Parbat he didnt interact with the lower members of the League, unlike other initiates. He had no interest in pandering to their every whim because they had already taken their vows. No, he was his own person and no one owned him. Swearing his loyalty to someone meant they had his trust and his respect but they did not own him.

"You, omega," growled the alpha as pheromones increased around them.

Oliver's nose scrunched up at the man's scent. Unlike Ra's, Al Sayf's, or Al Owal's scents this one was not pleasant at all. It set his teeth on edge and every instinct screamed at him to run. While his body prepared for a fight. If he was a weak-minded omega he might have submitted to the man's whims. Too bad for this bastard he wasn't. It meant he would get to maim if not kill him.

The entire League knew that he was being courted by their master. It was bad form and etiquette to interfere in a courtship. If Ra's found out about this idiot being here like this he would kill him. That didn't even count what Al Owal or Al Sayf would do. Oliver would rather do it himself though. He wasnt weak to where he had to be protected and coddled every second of the day.

The man reached for Oliver as if trying to subdue him by force. Unsurprisingly it was Lyal who stepped in. The fox sank its fangs into the man's hand. This made him yelp in pain and try to shake the creature off.

Jaws only tightened ensuring that its hold would not fail. If he was slung off then tissue, muscle, and possibly nerves would go with it.

: Good boy,: thought Oliver vindictively.

Worry shot through him when he caught a flash of steel. Oliver lunged for the man's arm stopping it from plunging into Lyal. There wasnt even a wince as the blade sunk into his hand. Instead, he kicked them alphas legs out from under him. Satisfaction filled him as a yelp escaped the bastard.

Lyal had let go as Oliver stepped in now stood at his side a low growl escaping him. It seemed the battle was there's even if it wasnt much of a fight. Honestly, he expected better of one of Ra's men.

The man pulled his knife back and tried to grapple Oliver. He wasn't looking to wound but to bring Oliver to the ground. Using his speed and light body type to his advantage he was mostly able to stay out of the man's grasp. Only having his shirt and pants torn in a few spots.

The alpha snarled using Alpha's command, "STOP!"

A weak sense of calm washed over him along with the man's disgusting scent. The man's will was weaker than his own. Even as an omega he did not have to obey this weak alpha. As long as one had a strong will they could throw off an Alpha's Command.

Biologically Alpha's Command has been around since the first introduction of secondary genders. Most alphas would use it to bring unruly omegas to heel. Occasionally a powerful alpha could use it to order a weaker alpha though it was more rare.

This was what the alpha in front of him was trying to do. He was trying to bring Oliver under his command so that he could rape him.

Instead of baring his neck like a good omega, he snarled, "I should kill you for trying that."

"If you won't I will," came a dark voice from behind him. A familiar calming scent came over him pushing away the disgusting scent of the alpha in front of him.

The alpha sputtered indignantly, "My liege, I was only..."

Oliver turned to face Ra's whose face was dark with murderous intentions. His scent and body posture screamed fear me. For this man, Oliver would bow his head and only this one.

To Oliver, Ra's questioned his eyes roaming up and down the younger man, "Are you well, Al Sahim?"

Oliver bent his neck slightly as he replied, "Besides the wound to my hand I am uninjured, my liege."

Ra's rumbled angrily. The sound sent shivers down his spine. This man would not live to see another day that he was certain of. From the corner of his eye, he spotted two members of Ra's personal guard watching them hands on the hilt of their swords.

Ra's said drawing him from his thoughts, "It seems this alpha has not learned the meaning of consent. Under normal circumstances, we would castrate him and then send him to the fire pit as punishment. However, as I am courting you Al Sahim I believe an example needs to be made. Not just for touching those in courting but for treating omegas like property."

"My liege I dont know what this whore has told you but he came onto me," sputtered the pathetic man.

"Silence," snarled Ra's causing even his own guard to withhold a flinch, "Al Sahim when an initiate becomes a member of the League they are typically sent on a mission. There they would be watched by a current member to ensure that they accomplish their task. Instead, your task will be to hunt down and kill this man before he reaches the airstrip," to the other alpha, "If you reach the airstrip before Al Sahim catches you I will release you from your vows. From there you will be sent to any destination of your choosing. Begin."
