Valenteno Industries: Warehouse
Robbie walks up to Gideon as he's working, "Hey, hey, hey. Special delivery. Candy-gram." Gideon climbs down the ladder from where he was working. "I bought you something. Oh yeah." Jack brings over a cloth cage and puts it on the table and removes the cloth, "We got you the bird, pal." He said, both of them smiling.
Gideon looks at the bird and states, "This is not my bird."
Robbie frowns, "What do you mean? That's the bird. This is the bird. Yeah, pulled a lot of strings to get this bird. This is a great bird."
Jack comments, "It's a beautiful bird."
Robbie tells him, "We got this bird all the way from Russia."
Gideon hits the table, telling him, "Hey, man, this is not my bird."
Robbie tells him, "Well, listen, even if it's not the bird, I mean, this is a gorgeous bird. I mean, you know, look, don't get so attached to things. Learn to let go." He looks at the robot suits, "Wait a minute. Jack, what is that? Is that...that's not a helmet. What is that?" He walks up to a suit, grabs and takes out the robot head, "Gideon...what's this? Jack. Is that a helmet? It doesn't look like a helmet to me. How...how are you supposed to get a head in there? Jack, could you put your head in there?" He climbs down and gives it to Jack.
Jack shakes his head, "No."
Robbie tells him, "Try to put your head in there. Go ahead. Try to put your head in there." Jack tries to put it on his head. "See, Gideon? He can't put his head in there. That's...that's not a helmet. It's a head. I need to put a guy in there. I need to fit a person in that suit. You understand?"
Gideon simply says, "Drone is better."
Robbie asks, confused, "What? Drone is better? Why is drone better? Why is is drone better?"
Gideon still calmly states, "People make problems. Trust me. Drone is better."
Robbie tells him, "Gideon, you know, I like you. I got you the bird. You said, 'No problem.' That's what you said to me. You said, 'No problem.' Now I need suits. The government wants suits. Like Iron Man. You understand? That's what the people want. That's what's gonna make them happy."
Gideon uses his own words from earlier, "Hey, man. Don't get too attached to things. Learn to let go." He takes back the robot head.
Robbie tells him, "These drones better steal the show, Gideon. You understand. Better rock my world, Gideon." He walks away.
Edwards Air Force Base
The General now present, looking at the pink silver Iron Man suit with Mabel, "Unbelievable. This ought to get the Senate off my ass. It's functional?"
Mabel told him, "Fully mission-capable."
The General said, "Good. Get Valenteno down here to weaponize it." He walks away.
Mabel looks confused, following him, "Sir?"
The General responds to her, "Robbie Valenteno is making a weapons presentation at the Expo. We'd like for him to introduce it."
Mabel tries to tell him, "Sir, I don't believe that the Expo…"
The General stops and turns to her, cutting her off, "Colonel, the world needs to see this fast. We've got to make this happen."
Mabel still says, "Yes, General, but…"
The General says, sternly, "It's also an order."
Mabel nods, "Yes sir."
The General salutes her, "Good work, Colonel. You've made your country proud."
Mabel salutes back, "Thank you sir."
Dipper Pines House: Balcony
Dipper was sitting with Rick on his right on long chairs, with agents around them. The house was still damaged up from the party.
Rick looks at him, "That thing in your chest is based on unfinished technology."
Dipper tells him, "No, it was finished. It has never been particularly effective until I miniaturized it and put it in my…"
Rick interrupts him, "No. Stanford said the arc reactor was the stepping stone to something greater. He was about to kick off an energy race that was gonna dwarf the arms race. He was on to something big, something so big that it was gonna make the nuclear reactor look like a triple-A battery. Should ask Wendy to help out, I heard she's good at this."
Dipper quickly tells him, "I don't want Wendy knowing yet, so I can't ask her. So it's just him, or Bud Gleeful in on this too?"
Rick answers his question, "Bud Gleeful is the other side of that coin. Bud saw it as a way to get rich. When your grandfather found out, he had him deported. When the Russians found out he couldn't deliver, they shipped his ass off to Siberia and he spent the next 20 years in a vodka-fueled rage. Not quite the environment you want to raise a kid in, the son you and Wendy had the misfortune of crossing paths with in Monaco."
Dipper asks him, "You told me I hadn't tried everything. What do you mean I haven't tried everything? What haven't I tried?"
Rick answers him, "He said that you and your sister Mabel were the only people with the means and knowledge to finish what he started."
Dipper with a drink in his hand says, "He said that?"
Rick questions him, "Are you that guy? Or is it Mabel? Are you? Is she? Because if you two are, then you both can solve the riddle of your heart."
Dipper said to him, "I don't know where you get your information, but he wasn't my biggest fan. He went softer on Mabel when she was born."
Rick asks him, "What do you remember about Stanford Pines?"
Dipper, emotionally affected about talking about his Grunkle Stanford, "He was cold, he was calculating. He never told me he loved me. He never even told me he liked me, like I said he went a little softer with Wendy but still cold, so it's a little tough for me to digest when you're telling me he said the whole future was riding on me and Wendy and that he's passing it down. I don't get that. You're talking about a guy who's happiest days was when he shipped me off to boarding school."
Rick shakes his head, "That's not true."
Dipper leans back, "Well, then, clearly you knew my Grunkle Stanford better than I did."
Rick answers him, "As a matter of fact, I did. He was one of the founding members of SHIELD." His two agents come in with a large box.
Dipper sits up, "What?" The agents put the box down.
Rick stands up, "I got a two o'clock."
Dipper stands up with him, pointing at the box, "Wait, wait, wait, wait. What's this?"
Rick looks at him, "Okay, you're good, right?"
Dipper clearly confused, "No, I'm not good."
Rick still asks, pointing at it, "You got this? Right? Right?"
Dipper still confused, "Got what? I don't even know what I'm supposed to get."
Rick tells him as both Tulip/Agent Olsen, Agent Powers and another female agent walks in, "Tulip will remain a floater at Pines with her cover intact, along with Pacifica. You remember Agent Powers, right?"
Dipper nods, "Yeah."
Rick introduces the female agent, "This is Agent Tambry Wu." Dipper nods to her and she nods back. Rick says before he leaves, "And Dipper, remember, I got my eye on both of you." He said, also talking about Wendy and gives him a look and he leaves.
Tulip/Agent Olsen tells Dipper, "We've disabled all communications. No contact with the outside world. Good luck."
Dipper stops her before she leaves, "Wait, what about Wendy?" He said, worried about her.
Tulip turns to him, "She's at Pines Industries with Pacifica, we're both gonna keep an eye on her and keep her close, we won't let anything happen to her." She gives him an assuring nod, looks at him as he nods back. She leaves.
Dipper turns to Agent Powers and Agent Tambry Wu, "Please. First thing, I need a little bodywork. I'll put in a little time at the lab. If we could send one of your goon squad down to The Coffee Bean, Cross Creek, for a Starbucks run, or something like that, that'd be nice." He walks up to Agent Powers.
Agent Powers simply states, "We're not here for that. We've been authorized by Director Sanchez to use any means necessary to keep you on premises. If you attempt to leave or play any games, either I or Agent Wu will tase you and watch Supernanny while you drool into the carpet. Okay?"
Dipper not knowing how to react, "I think I got it, yeah."
Agent Tambry Wu speaks for the first time, "Enjoy your evening's entertainment." They both leave the room. Dipper with his hands behind his back looks at the box that has been left for him and Wendy. It says 'PROPERTY OF STANFORD PINES'.
Edwards Air Force Base
Mabel dismantles the arc reactor from the suit. Both her and Major Allen as he asks, "Thinks this is the power source?"
Mabel answers him, still looking at the reactor, "Major, this is not a scientific exercise. Let's just focus on arming it, all right?"
Major Allen nods once, "Yes, ma'am." Mabel carefully puts down the reactor.
Robbie walks in, entering the warehouse, with Jack pushing a crate box, he's sucking on a red lollipop. "Oh, yes! Oh yes, yes, yes. Is it my birthday? You got it. What did you do? What did you do? Is this what I think it is?" He says, looking at the pink silver Iron Man suit across from Mabel.
Mabel crosses her arms, silently annoyed with him, "Yes it is. Valenteno, I want to know what you're gonna do for us."
Robbie tells her, "What am I going to do for you? Well, the first thing I'm gonna do for you is I'm gonna upgrade your software. And then, second, I think I should…"
Mabel interrupts him, "That's not what I'm talking about. Valenteno, I'm talking about firepower."
Robbie nods, "Well, you're talking to the right guy." He bites his lollipop.
A Few Minutes Later
Robbie with the crate box, opens it and shows Mabel some weapons, he was pulling them out with white gloves on, "Claridge Hi-Tec, semi automatic, 9mm pistol. Too downtown? I agree." He says, putting the gun down on the table, grabs another, "M24 shotgun, pump action. Five-round magazine. You know what? You're not a hunter. What am I talking about? I'm getting rid of it." He says, putting that one down on the table and grabs another, "This is the FN-2000 from Belgium. They do make something better than waffles. It's beautiful, but I can tell this isn't disco enough for you, so I'm gonna put it right here." He says, also putting that one down, "You're looking at a Milkor 40mm grenade launcher. Tear gas, smoke. Hippie control. You're tough. Let me tell you something. Size does matter. Don't let anyone tell you different." He puts that one down, Mabel and the Major keeps looking at him with the same serious expression, "This is an M134 7.62 Minigun. Six individual barrels. The torso taker, powder maker. Our boys in uniform call in Uncle Gazpacho or Puff the Magic Dragon." He says, getting no reaction from them, putting that one down, "Okay." Now with a medium size box in his hand, he looks at them, "These are the Cubans, baby. This is the Cohibas, the Montecristos." He opens the box and grabs very gently of the device that was in it, "This is a kinetic-kill, side-winder vehicle with a secondary cyclotrimethyenetrinitamine DX burst." He hands it to Mabel who looks at it carefully, "It's capable of busting the bunker under the bunker you just busted. If it were any smarter, it would write a book. A book that would make Ulysses look like it was written in crayon. It would read it to you." He grabs it back from Major Allen, holding it up, "This is my Eiffel Tower. This is my Rachmaninoff's Third. My Pieta. It's completely elegant. It's bafflingly beautiful. And it's capable of reducing the population of any standing structure to zero. I call it the Ex-Wife. That's the best I got." He says, putting it back in its place, "Are we gonna do this? Give me something here. You're like a sphinx. I can't read you."
Mabel tells him, looking at the weapons, "I think I'll take it."
Robbie asks, "Which one?"
Mabel answers, walking away, "All of it."
Robbie, a little surprised, "All of it."
Night: Dipper Pines House - Garage/Workshop
Dipper places the box down, opening it, looking at the blueprints for the arc reactor, he places it down. He grabs an old newspaper article about Bud Gleeful, putting that down. He picks up old video reels and a cassette video tape with the tap saying Mabel's and Dipper's Tenth Christmas.
Dipper sitting down, flicking through a notebook as a projector was playing the old video of Stanford (from Chapter 2) playing, "Everything is achievable through technology. Better living, robust heath, and for the first time in human history, the possibility of world peace. I'm Stanford Pines, and everything you'll need for the future can be found right here. City of the Future? City of Tomorrow? City of…" He goes back for another take, "I'm Stanford Pines and everything you'll need in the future can be found right here. So, from all of us at Pines Industries, I would like to personally…" A ten year old looking Dipper comes to view and picks up one of the model cities, Stanford turns and sees him, "Dipper, what are you doing back there? What is that?" As soon as his name was mentioned, Dipper looks up to watch, "Put that back. Put it back where you got it from. Where is your mother and father? Gosh where is Stanley? Go, go, go, go." Little Dipper puts the model building back down and a man from the crew picks him up and takes him out of the view.
A man in the background out of the view, says, "All right, I think we got…"
Stanford straightens his suit, "I'll...I'll...I'll come in and…"
The Video Changes
Another man asks, "Are you waiting on me?" Stanford was drinking a glass of whiskey.
The Video Changes Again
Stanford does on another take, "So, from all of us at Pines Industries, I'd like to personally show you my ass. I'd like to...I can't...this is...I can't...we have this, don't we? This is a ridiculous way...everything," Dipper reaches the end of the notebook, blank pages, it stopped when he died, "..is achievable through technology." Dipper sits up and throws the book to the side and takes a drink, looks up when he hears his name from his grandfather who's standing, leaning against the model city, "Dipper. You're too young to understand this right now, so I thought I would put it on film for you. I built this for you. And someday you'll realize that it represents a whole lot more than just people's inventions. It represents my life's work. This is the key to the future. I'm limited by the technology of my time, but one day you'll figure this out. And when you do, you will change the world. What is and always will be my greatest creation is you." The video ends and Dipper has tears in his eyes, touched by what he said.
JARVIS breaks the silence, "Sir, Miss. Pines arrived."
Dipper wipes his face, "JARVIS, can you show her the video of my Grunkle Stanford?"
JARVIS responds, "Of course sir, she just entered your room."
Upstairs: Dipper's bedroom
Mabel enters Dipper's bedroom, looking exhausted from what's happening lately, she takes off her coat, throws it at the end of his bed and is about to walk into the bathroom to find Dipper but stops when she hears Stanford's voice.
She turns around in shock to see the same video Dipper was just watching, walking close to the T.V with tears in her eyes. When it finishes, she asks, "JARVIS, what is this?"
JARVIS answers, "Mr. Pines thought you should see this and another."
Both Dipper and Mabel watch the video of her and her brother's Tenth Christmas at the same time with her in his room and Dipper downstairs in the workshop/garage.
(Flashback) Video
As Stanley Pines films Mabel in a cute Christmas pjs, she smiles excitedly as she looks at all the presents under the big tree, obviously wanting to open her presents up. Stanford was across the room on the home phone, talking to someone, basically talking about business even if it is Christmas. Ten Year Old Dipper was on the couch, clearly not caring about this at all but had to be there cause his mother told him to.
Stanley's voice asks little Mabel, "Are you ready to open your presents up, see what Santa gave you?"
Mabel looks at her little self jumping up and down excitedly, saying, "Yes!"
Their mother's voice came up and told Dipper, "Honey, help your sister with opening the presents."
Dipper groans, leaning his head back on the couch, "Do I have too?"
The mother's voice says, sternly, "Yes, help your sister. This is the first time that your Grunkle Stanford is not working and we're all in this together."
Dipper rolls his head, turning to Stanford, who is still on the phone, "Yeah, I see that happening, not working, not on the phone."
Then his father's voice came up and told him, "You know, your Grunkle Stanford works very hard, just give him a second. This is very important to your sister son, at least act happy for her."
Dipper reluctantly nods, "Okay, for Mabel."
His father says, "Thank you, now go to your sister and help her."
Dipper gets up and walks over to Mabel as she tries to open up a medium sized present, kneeling beside her and telling her, "You're opening the wrong present Mabel." She looks at him and frowns, pounting, but he gives her a small smile and grabs her hand and walks her towards the bigger presents that were for her. She laughs and smiles as he does the same as well, him smiling big at her as he sits down on the ground right right beside her, pointing at the big present, "This one is yours."
Mabel asks in her cute small voice, "Dipper help me." He helps her as she opens the wrapped presents, revealing it to be a big teddy bear twice her size. Mabel was so happy and said, "A big teddy bear!"
Present Time
Mabel and Dipper were both smiling at that moment together for what seems like ages ago.
Video
Ten year old Dipper, hands her another present as Stanley says, "This one is from all of us, sweetheart."
Ten year old Mabel smiles while opening the small box to reveal a locket with a big cursive M on the front for Mabel.
Present Time
Mabel grabs the same necklace that she was wearing in the video.
Video
Ten Year Old Mabel looked at it curiously, as Dipper came up from behind her and said , "Here look." He opens the locket that folds four pictures on it, one part flips like a page to see one side with two pictures and the other with another two pictures on it. The two from pictures showed Stanford and Stanley, on the flip side shows a young Dipper and Mabel, all smiling in their pictures. Ten Year Old Dipper asks Ten Year Old Mabel, "You like it?" She nods happily and he puts it on her, kisses her temple as he hugs her from behind with her still sitting right beside him. Unnoticed by the two young siblings, Stanley caught Stanford who had stopped talking on the phone for a moment, looking at them with a small smile, loving the moment they're having.
Later
Stanford Pines set up the video camera, him sitting on the couch beside the tree, presents opened hours ago. "My sweet little Mabel, I know you're way too young to understand this now as you just starting to grow just like your own brother. But I know you will achieve great things in your life, just like your brother will. I know this would catch your attention sooner or later, so I'm doing this to help you understand that I know you will grow up to be a beautiful independent woman that you will be and that I am proud of you no matter what. You and Dipper are anchors to each other, even if you both don't see it now but you will be and I know you will take care of your brother as he will to you. No matter what you do, always be there for each other, be each other's anchors, my brave sweet smart little Mabel." The video ends.
Present Time
Both Mabel and Dipper were affected deeply by what Stanford said. Mabel still holding her necklace, breaks down crying, sitting on the floor as Dipper walks into the room with also tears in his eyes, goes over to her, sits down beside her, wrapping his arms around her as she cries on his shoulder, both holding tightly to each other like the other one will slip away. Mabel eventually falls asleep from crying and Dipper picks her up, carries her to the living room, placing her on the couch and gently removes her shoes, tucking her into bed and looks at her for a moment, happy that he has her in his life. Pacifica who just got in, looks at him from upstairs in the hallway, not wanting to disturb him.
He turns to leave the living room and sees her there, she gives him a soft smile as he walks up to her, hugging the woman that he loves so tightly, she returns the hug as well. They pull away and walk into his bedroom, her spending the night with them, the two cuddled and were enjoying each other's company, with Dipper letting her comfort him from his emotional night.
Authors Note: Fair Warning, most of these chapters are long. I love the sibling moment and with Pacifica comforting Dipper and her being there for the Pines siblings. And the introduction of Tambry, she is just a cameo in this story. Next chapter will be with Dipper apologizing and asking Wendy for forgiveness. Will she accept? More drama up ahead. Thank you all for reading this! :)
