Chapter 8: Awakening Of Evil

Tara was walking down the campus hallway, looking very pleased with herself.
"That was so much fun," Tara whispered to herself before thinking. "Even though I might have made them a little suspicious."
As Tara reached the end of the hallway, she accidentally walked into someone.
Tara soon noticed it was Giselle and groaned.
"Oh, you," Tara simply said.
"And what exactly are you wearing?" Giselle asked as she eyed Tara's new look.
"Oh, just trying out a new look for Halloween," Tara replied. She spun around showing herself off. "You like?"
"Ugh, please," Giselle said, condescendingly. "You look ridiculous in that outfit."
Tara scowled, "What did you just say?"
"Sorry, Tara, but I'd be surprised if anybody would want to be seen with you right now," Giselle said.
Tara growled.
Giselle tried to move past her, but Tara intentionally bumped into Giselle at the side and tripped her sending her falling to the ground.
"Ugh," Giselle groaned as she turned and looked up at Tara with a scowl. "Hey!"
"Oops, sorry. I tripped," Tara said with feigned innocence.
Giselle didn't notice Tara putting something into the pocket of her jacket.
"You better be sorry," Giselle simply said as she dusted herself off and stormed off in the other direction.
Tara smiled devilishly as she took out the very thing she had taken from Giselle, her cellphone.
"Oh, this is going to be fun," She said as she chuckled evilly.
Later, it was time for cheer and football practices.
All of the cheerleaders, save for Tara, were gathered together and ready for practice.
"Anyone seen Tara?" Kim asked.
"Um, no," Hope responded.
"We haven't seen her since this morning," Crystal pointed out.
"Maybe she was too embarrassed to be seen in public with her ridiculous 'bad girl' look," Giselle spoke, condescendingly.
Hope scowled at Giselle, "I'm sure Tara's just late. She'll be here soon."
"And here I am," Tara's voice came.
The girls turned to see Tara walking toward them. She was changed into her red and yellow cheer outfit, but still wore her earrings, lipstick and red hair highlights.
"A little late," Giselle spoke.
"Sorry, I'm late," Tara apologized. "There was something else I had to take care of. It's not important."
"It's ok, Tara," Sophie assured. "Now that we're all here, let's get started, shall we?"
"Wait," Tara said with her hand up. She took something out of her pocket. It was Giselle's phone.
"My phone!" Giselle exclaimed. "How did you get that?"
"I don't know," Tara responded. "I found it on the floor earlier. And now, I'm returning it to you."
Giselle took the phone out of Tara's hand and said, "Normally, I'd never let you hear the end of it for picking up something that doesn't belong to you, But since you returned it, I'll let you off this time."
"Hmph, you're welcome," Tara said, sarcastically.
The rest of the girls were staring awkwardly at what had just happened until Sophie broke the silence.
"Ok…" She said slowly. She clapped her hands together. "Well, let's get right to our warmups, shall we?"
Everyone nodded. Tara did her best to hide her face as she smiled devilishly.
"Giselle is in for an unpleasant surprise the next time someone calls her," She thought to herself.
A few minutes later, the cheerleaders were practicing a routine.
"Burn bright, Phoenixes!" They shouted as they all jumped on top of each other to form a pyramid.
Just then, a cell phone was heard ringing which turned out to be Giselle's. Giselle broke off the pyramid to answer her phone which caused the rest of the cheerleaders to fall and hit the floor.
"Giselle, what the heck?!" Sophie shouted at Giselle.
"That was so on purpose!" Kim added.
"Like its always about you guys," Giselle countered. "Zero your egos."
Kim and Sophie both rolled their eyes.
Tara, on the other hand was smirking.
"Here we go," She thought.
When Giselle hit the answer button, the phone sent a spark of electricity into her and caused her to shake and her hair to go up. Everyone stared in surprise as this happened.
As soon as the electric shock stopped, Giselle breathed heavily. Tara and everyone else snickered.
"What's the matter, Giselle?" Sophie asked with a smirk. "Your phone is not agreeing with you anymore?"
"And are you having a bad hair day?" Hope taunted.
Giselle growled as she angrily turned to Tara.
"You did something to my phone!" Giselle accused.
"Why, do you think it was me?" Tara asked, nonchalantly.
"Don't feign innocence!" Giselle shouted. "You had my phone after I dropped it. And I'll bet that you actually made me drop it when you bumped into me earlier, didn't you?"
Before Tara could deny it any further, Sophie intervened, "Even if Tara did do something to your phone, it serves you right."
Kim then spoke, "That'll teach you not to break from a pyramid and cause all of us to fall down and hurt ourselves."
"Yeah," The other cheer squad mates agreed.
Tara smirked. Even if it was discovered that she pulled the prank on Giselle, at least everyone would be on her side.
Giselle just growled as she stormed off to the Girls locker room to clean herself off.
Kim chuckled as this happened. But she looked at Tara and wondered if she really did pull that prank on Giselle.
"Lashing out at people, pulling pranks, acting like a bad girl?" Kim thought to herself. "This pretty much proves my theory, but I'll still need to have Wade scan her brain just to be sure."
"Alright, everyone," Sophie announced. "While Giselle is off 'fixing her hair', let's take a break."
Everyone nodded in agreement. They all went to get some water. But as Hope tried to move, Kim stopped her.
"Hope, wait," Kim said quietly as she grabbed Hope's arm.
"What's wrong, Kim?" Hope asked.
"After practice, I need your help with something," Kim said with a serious face.
"What is it?" Hope asked, curiously.
Later that day, Tara, dressed back in her bad girl outfit, was walking in the hallway.
"Hey, Tara?" Hope's voice came.
Tara turned and saw that Hope was standing beside her.
"Oh, hey, Hope," Tara greeted with a wave. "I'm just gonna head back to the apartment and freshen up a little. I'll meet you guys at the dance a little later."
"Sure, Tara," Hope said, before turning serious. "But I need to talk to you about something."
"What is it?" Tara asked with a nervous face.
"I'm not trying to accuse you or anything, but did you really pull that prank on Giselle earlier?" Hope asked.
Tara saw no point in lying to her best friend and sighed, "Yes, I did. And yes, I was also the one who pulled that prank on Ricky last night, but come on. Those two jerks deserved a little revenge."
"I know, Tara," Hope said with a concerned face. "But I'm just a little concerned about you."
"Well, what do you mean?" Tara asked, nervously.
Tara was unaware that down the hall behind her, Kim was around the corner.
"Well, ever since, our sitch with Electronique in Go City, you've been acting a little, well, weird," Hope said nervously.
Kim sweated a little. She hoped that Hope didn't just give away that they were onto Tara.
"Well, um, I..." Tara said nervously. "I guess I have been feeling a little weird since I had that headache earlier, but hey, I'm sure I'll be fine. Ron did heal me after all. Don't you worry about me, ok, Hope?"
Tara gave her best friend a hug. Hope was surprised at first, but then hugged her back.
Kim took this opportunity and pointed her Kimmunicator at Tara's head. Then the device sent a beam that went down the back of Tara's head. Kim then quickly left, glad that she managed to get the brainwave scan without Tara even noticing.
However, she did not see Tara take a small circular device and slip it into the open part of Hope's backpack. It was one of the Team Possible listening devices that Wade provided each of the members.
Tara pulled away from Hope and said, "I'm gonna head back to the apartment."
"Ok, me and Monique will be there shortly," Hope said with a wave.
With that, the two teens parted ways.
As soon as the two teens were out of sight of each other, Tara smirked. She reached into her backpack and took out the Kimmunicator that Wade had given her after Electronique broke her last one.
"I know you guys are onto me and now, I'll be able to find out," Tara said with an evil smile.
Later, Kim and Ron met Hope in the front of the school.
"Kim, did you get it?" Hope asked.
"Yep, Wade completed the brainwave scan," Kim confirmed. "It should only take a little while for him to analyze it, since he has a faster way of doing it now."
"I sure hope so," Hope said looking nervous. "If Tara really did turn evil-"
"I can't don't understand how Tara could have turned evil," Ron speculated. "She seemed fine after I healed her."
"Well, she was hit by a little spark from Electronique's machine before we escaped the explosion," Hope speculated.
"And maybe the effects of the Attitudinator didn't kick in until after you healed her, Ron," Kim added.
"That is possible," Ron admitted.
"I still can't believe this would happen to her," Hope commented.
"Guys, don't worry," Kim assured. "If Tara really was turned evil, I'm sure we can help her. We just have to get the Attitudinator back from Electronique."
Kim put a hand on Hope's shoulder.
"Trust me, Hope, Tara will be fine," Kim assured.
Hope sighed, "I sure hope so."
Kim, Ron and Hope were unaware of the listening device that was blinking inside Hope's backpack.
Meanwhile, Tara was sitting on the couch in the apartment she shared with Hope and Monique with her Kimmunicator in her hand. Tara was listening in on Kim, Ron and Hope's using the device she had slipped into Hope's backpack and heard everything. She smirked.
"I knew, they were onto me," She said to herself.
She put down her Kimmunicator and walked into the bathroom.
"But it doesn't matter now," Tara said to herself. "I knew that sabotaging Ricky and Giselle would make them suspicious. But that just means I'll have to speed up my turn to villainy. This pitiful little world won't know what hit it."
She barely stepped out of the bathroom when she heard a voice.
"So you've turned after all," The voice said.
Tara looked to see Electronique leaning on the wall across the room.
"Electronique," Tara gasped.
"I've been watching all of the little stunts you pulled after our little encounter last night," Electronique spoke as she walked towards Tara. "Funny, I knew my machine would affect at least one of you in that explosion. I never thought it would be you."
"And what are you going to do about it?" Tara asked with her hand on her hips.
"Why, I'm going to help you, of course," Electronique answered.
"What?" Tara asked in surprise.
"You may have an evil mind now, but when it comes to villainy, you're basically still a rookie," Electronique spoke. "But if we work together, we could take down both Team Possible and Team Go and take over the world together. There would be nobody left to stop us. So are you in?"
Tara thought about it for a moment before speaking, "I'm in."
"Excellent!" Electronique said, triumphantly.
"As long as you don't call me a hench person," Tara spoke sternly. "And no talk about 'knees'."
Electronique sighed, "Fine."
"And I think I have a little idea for an evil plan," Tara said.
"I already have a plan, but what do you have in mind?" Electronique asked.
"Do you still have the Attitudinator?" Tara asked.
"Yes," Electronique answered. "What about it?"
Tara leaned in and whispered in Electronique's ear.
After she pulled away Electronique smirked evilly.
"That is diabolical," Electronique commented. "I love it!"
Tara and Electronique both started laughing evilly.
