''so can someone tell me what the Macusa is thinking by building their headquarter in the middle of one of the most crowded cities in the muggle world''? Thomas said toward their group but he practically focus on three people and that is him, Lily, and Hermione for the answer to his question.
His family and the other two families that join his family holiday just landed in New York an hour ago and just arrived in front of the Woolworth building, the headquarter of the Macusa. Unlike their journey between nations in Europe that use his James modified Rv. Their journey to the Macusa was done by using his private plane since he wasn't really interested in traveling to another continent using a bloody Rv. Of course, James wasn't exactly thrilled that they would use a plane to travel to the Macusa. Since he wanted them to continue traveling using the RV. But by using his little sister he was able to convince James to go with his suggestion.
Of course, because they didn't use the Rv he needed to find where they would be staying since they left the Rv in Italy but it wasn't that hard to find a place to stay. Since they could just stay at his grandfather's mansion or apartment that is in the city. But he wasn't really interested in staying there, so they would probably just stay at a hotel. They of course were able to get to the Woolworth building because of his grandfather since he would send a driver after he found out that they would be using a plane to arrive in New York.
Thomas's question it selves is a very good question since it didn't really make sense why the Macusa would build their headquarter in one of the most crowded cities in the world and not to mention that muggles also use the same building. This is technically a breach of the statutes of secrecy but then again that law is very much flawed. And there is a couple of greys are in that law that could be exploited. But he could guest the reason why the Macusa headquarter is in the Woolworth building and that is because what better place to hide than in the middle of the muggle. And his assumption would be answered by lily since she probably guests the same thing.
''I'm not really sure why Thomas but the Macusa could be thinking went they build this place that the best place to hide is in front of them''. Lily said making Thomas nodded, they would then enter the building, of course, went they got to the front door. it would quickly change from the muggle entrance of thing to then become the Macusa headquarter.
The lobby of the Macusa it selves is very much grand something that wasn't surprising since almost all of the Magical lobby especially those in the government building was very much built with no expense in mind. With a cathedral-like ceiling that reach hundreds of feet in the air, and a massive and elaborate monument near it. The place really was worthy of being the headquarter of the Macusa and the first thing a person who wanted to enter Macusa to see.
After they enter the place, they would ask one of the guards where the immigration and the customs office are located. The guard would then told them where those places are located, which is on the upper level of the building. And to reach it they would need to take the elevator, the guard would of course show them where the elevator is and also press the floor number. After arriving on their floor, they would give both their id and their wand to the immigration worker that was stationed near the elevator. After that, they would then be sent to another immigration worker that would check their id again and ask them a couple of question. The question it selves is would be why they are here, how long they are staying, where are they staying, and other similar questions.
It would take a couple of minutes for this to end and then finally they are officially able to enter the Macusa. Of course, the last thing the immigration tell them would be that their pass would only work in the Macusa territory which only covered the original thirteen colonies. While the rest of what is the territory of the muggle nation of the united stated of America was split between the Macusa, the native American tribe, and the other minor magical communities that reside here.
And that is only the muggle territory of the united stated of America, the rest of the American continent it selves is split between more magical nations and communities, than their muggle counterpart. There is of course the large magical nation like the Macusa, Aztec, Maya, and a couple more nations. And there is also that small nation that could be described as a micronation example of this would be the native American tribe, the magical communities in the Caribbean, and other micro magical nations and communities that are existed in American.
''So where are we staying Hadrian''. James asks his eldest son, they are currently waiting for their car to arrive and pick them up. He is still a bit grumpy that they left his Rv back in Italy. But he couldn't just say no to his daughter, went she ask something from him, she's just so cute went she would ask something especially went she use her puppy dog eyes, to make sure that she got what she wanted.
The only person that he knows that couldn't be affected by his daughter's puppy dog eyes is his wife but then again she would also sometimes fall for it. He couldn't really say that he wasn't a bit happy that they leave the Rv in Italy, since he did get tired of driving even though he would drive in shift with Arthur Weasley and Hermione's dad.
''let's stay in the plaza''. Hadrian said after he thinks about it for a couple of moments.
''that the hotel is home alone two right, big brother''. Rose ask while looking toward him
''yup''. Hadrian said
''what home alone''. Ron Weasley asks with confusion in his voice, something that wasn't surprising since he is raised in the magical world, and even though the Weasley isn't that bigoted for a pureblood. It still would be hard for them to watch a muggle movie.
''What you never watch home alone two, it's the greatest movie that is ever made''.
''you can ask the Weasley and the other kids, to watch it went we go to hotel Rose''. Hadrian said toward her sister who would noded to his suggestion. Something he figured she would do since she would probably go to watch it anyway since they would stay in the hotel where the movie is made. And frankly speaking, he knows that if the kids are staying in the hotel then there is a huge change the adult would too. Abeling him to sneak out and meet Daphne and have a romantic dinner with her and even if they wanted to leave and let the kids in the hotel, it would only make him sneaking out much easier.
The reason why he's going to sneak out was that he wasn't that interested in his family and the other people that are with them to join him and Daphne having dinner together. Since it wouldn't be a romantic dinner if they joined.
It's really strange after he thinks about it how this would be the first time that he would need to sneak out to meet a girl. Since he never really need to sneak out went he lives his grandfather even went he was ten years old and wanted to meet fleur. Since his grandfather isn't interested in his personal love life and lets him do what he wants. He still remembers what his grandfather said went he found out he has a relationship with fleur. ''you can do what ever you want Hadrian as long as you make sure what you do wouldn't sully the family name and if you do something stupid make sure to cover it up''.
It is really strange if he thinks about it what his grandfather said to him went he is only ten years old about how he can do whatever he wants. But then again he kinda glad that his grandfather allowed him a lot of freedom to do what he wants. But even though his grandfather allowed him a lot of freedom, both his grandmother and his grand-aunt didn't allow it. And since he fears them he didn't try to find out what he is grandfather means by ''freedom".
Finally after a couple of minutes of waiting for their car arrives, of course since they couldn't let the muggle know about the magical world. There are five cars that are picking them up since it wouldn't make sense if all of them would be packed into one car. The car that picks them up it selves is a modified black range rover. After they enter the car, his family going into the first car while the granger takes the second car and the Weasley take the third, fourth, and fifth car. After he enters the car he would tell the driver to take them to the plaza.
The ride to the plaza it selves would be in silence except for the sound coming from the game that his sister is playing on her mirror tablet. It really is awesome how his invention has changed the magical world to its very core. He wouldn't say that the magical world is backward or something from the muggle world since both worlds are fundamentally different no matter what people like Dumbeldore or some muggle-born say.
But he also admitted that in some parts the wizarding world is very much behind their muggle counterpart and one of part is in technology. The muggle ever since the beginning of this century especially after the end of world war two has advanced their technology so far ahead of their wizarding world counterpart. That is quite scary, after all during the beginning of this century plane, television, computer, the telephone didn't exist. And now they are a part of their everyday life, hell the muggle has done what the magical world hasn't done and that is going to outer space, not to mention they have a created a weapon that could destroy the world in a matter of second.
Of course, the magical world also has a nuclear weapon courtesy of the soviet union, since after the union fell and went the new nation of Russia started to reclaimed the soviet nuclear arsenal that is stationed in a foreign country, mostly in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The ICW was able to secretly claim a couple dozen of them, and stationed them secretly around the world, with only the supreme sorceress of the ICW knowing the exact location and the only one allowed to authorize their use.
But he couldn't say that the wizarding world especially the ICW didn't also possess their own world-destroying weapon because they did. And unlike the Nuclear weapon, the muggle posses the Wizarding world weapon wouldn't destroy the world. The weapon he's talking about is the plague, the magical world especially the ICW, has since its creation dabbled in the creation of weapons to wipe out the muggle world should a war break out between the two worlds.
The plague it selves is a very efficient weapon and even though would take its time to destroy the world, it would destroy it and without the destruction that the nuclear weapon would do on the land. But then again because of how connected the muggle world has become because of the advances in transportation technology. It wouldn't take long to for the muggle world destroyed probably a couple of months if his calculation is correct. And he knows the ICW probably still have plenty of trick in the sleeves if the plague didn't work.
The only reason why even know the ICW possessing two of these weapons it selves was because his grandfather was the one that gains the nuclear weapon for the ICW. while one of his ancestors was one of the creators of the plague and mentioned it in his family grimoire.
It is really a shame how both worlds have become separated went they use to interact with each other, since went they interacted with each other they were able to change the world and created a magnificent monument. The great pyramid of Giza, the hanging garden of Babylon, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and other structure that was erected around the world, that was build went they still interacted with each other. Show just how much the world could be different from what it is today, sure he knows in some part of the world the magical world and the muggle world still interacted with each other. But that is only in some small part of the world.
Finally, after a couple of minutes of driving the car arrived in the plaza but it seems that the car that carried the granger and the Weasley family haven't arrived yet. Something that isn't surprising since with how crowded the road in the city they probably get separated. But he wasn't a bit worried about them since their driver know where to go. So with that in mind he and his family would enter the hotel first, the hotel it selves was grand for a muggle hotel that is. The reason why he even chooses this hotel rather than a magical hotel it selves outside of knowing that it would make his sister happy was that it near central park.
Of course, since he didn't have any id on him, he would bring Lily with him to the receptionist table since she is the only one of their group besides the granger parent that has a muggle id. But he would be the one who does the talking.
''good afternoon sir and madam, how can I help you''. The receptionist asks him and Lily after they arrived at the receptionist table
''yes, do you have a couple of empty suites''. Hadrian said to the receptionist who would raise an eyebrow, something that wasn't something surprising since the receptionist probably didn't use to see someone as young as him asking about a suite. And unlike the receptionist in the hotel in Italy who probably either now already be fired or kill or even both for being rude to him, this receptionist is quite nice.
''of course let me check for a moment, sir''. The receptionist said before checking his computer
''There seem to be a couple of suites that are empty sir''. The receptionist said a couple of seconds later after he finishes checking his computer.
''that's great, I would like six of them''. Hadrian said toward the receptionist who would still look surprised that he was the one talking instead of Lily
''of course sir, how would you like to pay''. The receptionist said toward him, he would of course get his wallet out and take out his debit card and then handing it toward the receptionist.
''do you have some id sir''. the receptionist ask him but he would look toward Lily since the receptionist know that even though he was the one that both asks and pays for the room. He knows that he isn't old to also to have an id. Lily would, of course, get her id out and then handed it to the receptionist after she did they would wait for a couple of second, for the receptionist to finish booking their room. He would also ask for a deposit and for them to sign some documents.
''ok, it seems everything is alright and I already book six-room for you, sir, do you have any baggage then sir''. The receptionist said after he finishes all that he needed to do to prepare their room, he would also give him the room keys.
''yeah, I have a couple''. Hadrian said while pointing toward their baggage
''I would send one of the bell boys to take your bag to you're room, sir''. The receptionist said before asking one of the bell boys to take their bag and take them to their room.
''thanks''. Hadrian said before leaving the receptionist desk and going to his family
''so did you get a room here''. James ask him
''yes, here you go''. Hadrian said before handing five of the room keys to James
''so since the weasel and the granger family hasn't arrived yet, one of us needs to stay here to give them their room key…..''. Hadrian said but before he can continue he would be interrupted by Lily
''can you stop calling them like that, Hadrian''. Lily said
''calling who like what''. Hadrian said with confusion in his voice since he didn't think he mocked anyone.
''calling the Weasley family weasel''. Lily sai
''I don't really get what the problem is but fine, I stop calling them that happy, now as I was saying before one of us need to stay here to give the Weasley and the granger family their room key, so who going to wait for them''. Hadrian said
''We do it Hadrian since we also wanted to go to central park, and sir can you take our bag to our room''. James said toward him and his little sister and brother and then giving one of the room keys to Thomas, before talking toward the bell boy who still stands next to them with their bag already in the trolley.
''of course sir''. the bellboy said
''fine, come on Thomas rose, let's go to our room''. Hadrian said before taking his sister's hand and then going toward the elevator, his brother and the bellboy would of course followed him and his sister. After they arrived in the elevator he, his sister, and brother would enter first before the bellboy and their luggage would enter last. He would be the one who pushes the elevator button that would take them to their floor.
It would take a couple of seconds for them to arrive on their floor, of course like usual during their elevator ride, the elevator would stop a couple of time. since some people wanted to use their elevator, but no one enters the elevator went it stop, after seeing how crowded it is.
The elevator would finally stop after it reaches their floor, after the elevator stop on their floor, of course, they would get out of it, before going first toward James and Lily room to drop their and Thomas and Rose's baggage. All of the room it selves was next to each other and is connected to each other, so it is easy for them to meet each other, after arriving in James and Lily's room. Thomas would open for them to enter, the room it selves is big and quite luxurious for a muggle standard that is. Since frankly speaking the hotel room in a magical hotel is very much more grandeur than their muggle counterpart.
''nice room''. Thomas said after they enter the room,
''I see better, here you go sir''. Hadrian said toward his brother before talking out a hundred dollars from his wallet and giving it to the busboy who already put James and Lily and his sibling baggage, the busboy it selves would look happy to be able to get a quite large tip.
''btw I need to go to my room''. Hadrian said
''where you room Hadrian''. Thomas asks while sitting in one of the chairs in the suites while flipping the tv to find something to watch, While rose was jumping in the bed.
''it next to this room, so we're still neighbors, do you want to go to my room, rosy''. Hadrian said before talking toward his sister who still jumping up and down in the bed.
''ok, big brother''. Rose said before stoping jumping on the bed and walking toward him, ''big brother can we also have something to eat since I'm hungry''. Rose said went she finally reach him.
''of course rosy''. Hadrian said before walking out of James and Lily's room and then toward his room, but before they even get to walk a few feet his little brother would join them.
''hey wait if you're going to eat, I'm joining too''. Thomas said after he walked out of James and Lily room
''ok, come on, Thomas, both of you can call the room service in my room''. Hadrian said it would take them a couple more steps to reach his room. after reaching his room, he would open the door and let his younger sibling enter first before he would enter last. Of course both Rose and Thomas would search for the room service menu after they enter his room and would quickly find out what they wanted to eat.
''Hadrian we could order anything we want, right''. Thomas asks Hadrian after seeing how expensive the food is in this place.
''yeah sure''. Hadrian said while taking out his luggage, which he shrunk into a size of a matchstick box, he would enlarge it after taking out from his pocket and then putting it into the closet.
''wait, Hadrian, didn't we aren't allowed to use magic outside of school''. Thomas said after seeing his brother using magic so casually outside of school and still being underage
''not really since that law is only created to make sure that muggle-born didn't use magic in their house or in the muggle world and btw that law didn't say anything about using wandless magic and do you really think that the ministry of magic would able to track you if you use you're magic in a magical household or in the magical world''. Hadrian said
''what''. Thomas asks not believing that you could use magic if you didn't use a wand.
''you didn't know, it really is simply the way that the ministry of magic knows about us using magic is because of our wand since there is a tracker on it, so in another word if you use wandless magic no one would know or if your magic in the magical world or in a magical household''. Hadrian said after noticing the shock of his younger brother, what he said to his younger brother it selves wasn't a huge secret and instead of an open secret in the magical world.
Since the ministry of magic was able to track you using the tracker on you're wand but the ministry of magic didn't really care if you use magic in the magical world or in a magical household. Since if you use your wand in a magical world or in a magical household then the person that surrounds is either a magical creature or a wizard of witches. So it didn't really matter if you use magic or not since the person next to you probably already knows about it. While about using wandless magic is a bit self-explanatory since they couldn't know you use magic if you don't use your wand.
''I didn't know that''. Thomas said
''really, so you telling me that you never do any magic inside of you're house Thomas''.
''no, since I thought you have to be older''.
''Well don't, btw what did the both of you wanted to order''.
''I order a cheese pizza, a spaghetti, and a chocolate cake, while Thomas order a lasagna, and a mac and cheese, what about you Big brother''. Rose ask
''Just give me spaghetti''. Hadrian said toward his little sister, who would nod before calling room service and ordering their food. While waiting for their food they would search the television to watch something. And would choose to watch scooby doo after they find out that a scooby doo movie is playing on one of the tv channels.
It would take about half an hour for their food to arrive in their room, and during this time the Weasel and the granger have arrived in the hotel, and also order room service. His and his sibling's food would arrive first but they didn't eat yet since the Weasel mother wanted them to eat together. So they wait for about another twenty minutes for the rest of the food to arrive. If he wasn't so rich, he would be depressed about how much money that he already spends on his first day here for the hotel, and the room service and the day haven't even ended yet. But he was rich so he didn't really care about how much money he just spend these last couple of hours.
''so are we going to stay in the hotel today''? Hadrian asks the group of people that is currently in his room after they finish eating. The reason why he asks this question is quite simple since if they are staying in the hotel then he didn't need to sneak out, since he could just leave.
''yeah I think that we would be staying here''. James said
''ok, then can you all get out of my room and go to your own, room''. Hadrian said toward the people who are inside his room, who would noded to what he said and leave his room. After they leave his room, he would call the room service to clean his room. it would take about a couple of minutes for the room service to arrive in his room and clean it. While the room service is cleaning his room, he would go to take a shower since he hasn't shower today.
He would finish his shower the same time the room service finish cleaning his room, of course, like what he did a couple of hours ago, he would also give the room service a tip. After the room service leave, he would change into his sleeping clothes before sleeping for a couple of hours, since he would only meet daphne at dinner which would be in the next few hours.
He would be wakened up by alarm a couple of hours later and would stay in bed for a couple of minutes, thinking if he should change the date of their date to tomorrow and continue sleeping. But knowing how his Daphne is, he is able to force himself to get up and be ready for their date. It would only take about five minutes for him to get ready. After he finishes getting ready he would call Daphne.
''hey Daph, are you ready''. Hadrian ask Daphne after she picks up her mirror phone
''yes, we're meeting in the restaurant right''. Daphne ask
''yes, so see you in a couple of minutes, bye Daph''. Hadrian said
''bye, Hadrian''. daphne said, after he finishes calling Daphne, he would apparate into their restaurant.
The restaurant that he chooses it selves was located in one time square and the restaurant it selves was on the top floor of the building, giving you the view of the street below and the skyline of the time square. The restaurant it selves was very grand and was heavily protected by magic the example of this is that he can only apparate into the lobby of the restaurant. The lobby of the restaurant it selves has a receptionist desk and two fireplaces for people that arrive using the floo network or because they wanted to leave using it.
He would wait for a couple of seconds before Daphne would arrive using the floo. His girlfriend herself is wearing beautiful blue drees, with high heels and also a silver necklace on her neck. Seeing his girlfriend all drees up make him a bit turn on.
''really Hadrian, I spend about an hour dressing up like this and you are just wearing jeans and a shirt''. Daphne said went she spotted.
''sorry, I don't really bring any other clothes''. Hadrian said
''Yeah, sure''. Daphne said while not really believing him, since even if he didn't bring any suits, he could just buy a new one.
''so should we go in''? Hadrian asks not knowing what to say next, that wouldn't make Daphne hurt him, since he knows she is pissed with him because of not dressing up for their date. Daphne would nod to his suggestion and even would hold his arm, went they are walking toward the receptionist table.
''good evening, sir and madam, do you have a reservation''. The receptionist ask them
''yes, it's under the name potter''. Hadrian said, making the receptionist's eyes widen went he hears his name, this wasn't surprising since the owner of the place probably already told the staff that if someone name potter should ever visit. Then they would be allowed to get a table even if the restaurant is full.
''of course, sir, let me show you to you're table''. The receptionist said. before walking toward the door that was next to him and opening it. after the receptionist opened the door to the restaurant they would be hit by the sound of classical music being played.
The first thing that both of them see went they enter the restaurant is how the other patron in this restaurant is either sitting at a desk or dancing on the dance floor or dancing while floating on top of the dance floor. The restaurant it selves has two floors, with a dance floor in the middle of it, and a band in the middle of the first and second floor. The restaurant would also have a clear view of the skyline of New York and time square courtesy of the magical one-way mirror that was installed around the restaurant.
The receptionist himself would lead them to the second floor of the restaurant. and would seat them next to the dance floor. After they take their seat, they would order their food, and like most magical restaurants there isn't a waiter and instead, they just need to say what they wanted and the house-elf. Would make it for them, while waiting for their floor, they would dance. And after they finish dancing and return to their table they would find their food waiting for them. After they finish eating they would continue staying in the restaurant for a couple more hours. Before finally, it's time for them to leave, he would of course escort Daphne to the fireplace and would kiss her before she uses the floor. After she leaves, he would apparate back to his room and would sleep once he arrived there.
