Chapter 16

The next morning Tank and Stephanie was in bed, before Tank went into the station.

"Hey Pierre are you happy back in the department?" Stephanie asked him.

"Truth, no I want to be back at Rangeman, busting heads in again. This department is so screwed up and different then when I worked in L.A." Pierre told her.

"Then put in your papers, and get back to doing what you love to do and that is busting bad guys heads" Stephanie told him.

"I have the papers right here." Stephanie got up and walked to the dresser. Grabbed the papers and them to Pierre.

"The chief of Police is going to kill me." Pierre said as he started to fill out the forms.

After two hours of him filling out the forms. Tank left the house and went to the Chief of Police's office.

"Hey Tank what can I do you for you." The chief asked.

"I am putting my papers in. It does not feel right for me to have my shield back. My heart is not in it anymore. I had my time as a cop, that time is done." Tank handed his shield back to the Chief and left the office.

He got out of the building got in his SUV and drove to Rangeman.

He used his key card to get back in the Rangeman underground garage. "Hey Tank are you back to stay?"

"Yeah, Lester I am back to stay." Tank told him and gave him a fist bump.

Tank walked back into the building and went to Ranger's office.

"Hey Boss" Tank said to Ranger.

"Well, did you come back to work Tank?" Ranger said.

"Yeah, I did my time as a Detective. I can use my skills here better then I could at the Station. Let's get some work done." Tank told him.

"I still need to work with Eddy so he can pass his physical for the Department." Tank told him. He got on the phone, "Eddy come Rangeman and let's get you ready for you physical." Tank told him.

"Thanks, I would like that. You really put your papers in." Eddy asked him.

"Yeah, I did my heart was not in it. The Captain and the Chief know it. So, come over and let's get some work done." Tank told him.

Tank was waiting for him in the underground parking garage.

"Hey are you ready to get some work done." Tank said to him. Eddy looked at Tank in his black Cargo Pants, a Rangeman sweat shirt with his equipment belt on him.

"Wow totally different from the suit." Eddy said open mouthed.

"Yeah, it is. Let's get you to the gym" Tank told him.

Tank used his key card. They both entered. He saw the Command Room and saw the huge size of it. "Holy shit it is huge in there." Eddy said in shock.

"Yeah, it is, this way." Tank opened a door and they walked down three flights of stairs.

"No elevator huh" Eddy said to him.

"No unless you want to climb the cable." Tank looked back at him.

"No thanks I will pass" Eddy said to him. Tank opened the door and Eddy saw Hal, Lester working out.

"Okay, let's get you warmed up on the treadmill for twenty minutes." Tank said He watched Eddy get on the treadmill. Tank hit a couple of buttons and it started to move. Eddy started to run on the treadmill. After about twenty minutes Tank stopped the treadmill and both Tank and Eddy went to the free weights. Where Eddy worked out his arms for about thirty minutes. "All right one more thing, you get in the ring with me." Tank said as he took off his shirt, and put on his head gear and gloves.

Ranger, Lester and Hal all came into the gym to see Tank and Eddy go at it in the ring. Eddy got a couple of okay hits in, but Tank nailed Eddy at least three times with three good right hooks to the same eye.

"Okay you win" Eddy said. "Now I know why you left the force to come back here. Here is where you belong." Eddy said as he jumped out of the ring.

"A couple of more days of this, and you will be ready for the physical I can guarantee that." Tank told him.

"Right same time next week." Eddy said as he was heading to the locker room.

Tank smiled at Ranger, "You have been waiting for two weeks to do that ." Ranger told him.

"Who me?" Tank shrugged.

After they got cleaned up, they walked out of Rangeman. "Tell everybody I said hi" Tank said, "I will see you next week. Same time same place." He added Eddy walked away to his care bruised and battered eye.

Eddy got back to the station and walked in and saw Captain Thompson back.

He walked up to the Captain's door and knocked.

"Hey Jake." Eddy said.
"Ouch go a couple of rounds in with Tank" Jake told him.

"Yeah, he is helping me get into shape for my physical" Eddy told him.

"That's Tank he will help anyone who needs help or asks for it." Jake said. "I also have a couple of leads on South Stark Street. If you want to go with me to check them out." He told Eddy

"Yeah, let's go" The two of them walked out of the Captain's office. Thompson just shook his head.

Eddy got out of the car on South Stark Street, when he was hit from behind. Jake tried to help Eddy but some one from behind as well and Jake was out cold.

When Jake woke up he found Eddy gone. "What the hell" Jake yelled. He called into the station to report a officer missing. Just as Tank was walking in half the department was walked out of the Princent.

"Hey what is going on?" Tank asked.

"Hey Tank someone knocked Jake and Eddy on the head with something, and when Jake woke up Eddy was gone." Paul told him.

"Shit" Tank said out loud. "Captain, let Rangeman help with this please." Tank asked his former Captain."

"We can use all the help we can get." The Captain told Tank.
