Hello Lovely People! Once again thanks for your support. I keep making promises that I haven't been able to keep, sorry. I would like to think that I would change and update more often but honestly life keeps getting in the way. Anyways, I know Izzy is seeming like she is out of character, but I see her as fiercely independent. And things between all the characters are gonna get better, but right now I am following my plan.
...
Isabelle walks into the room to find Simon relaxing on the couch with the sounds of the television filling the room. She doesn't seem to notice to what was currently playing, still lost in thoughts around her earlier realisation. Izzy can not believe that she feels this way. Maybe it's the way that Clary and Jace seem to be comfortable around each other? Maybe it's that herself and Simon just aren't there yet? Maybe it's that they barely say two words to each other? Could this change if she made an effort to get to know Simon more? Should they go on a date? This finally brought Isabelle out of her daze and Simon noticed her within the room. "What are you watching?" Izzy started, trying to get up the courage to ask Simon a question.
Simon barely looked away from the screen that had his interest, as he answered her question. A replay of one of his favourite shows was playing and although he could repeat each character's dialogue, word to word, he was giving it his undivided attention.
Izzy decided that she would attempt to watch the show alongside Simon. The show could not hold her attention however and she began to pick at the hem of her dress. "Si?" Isabelle said softly, not realising that she had just given Simon a nickname.
"Yeah?" Simon answered turning his attention away from the tv for a moment to glance at her face. He was also surprised at the nickname and was wondering what she would say next. He began reaching for the remote that was in front of him as his instincts told him that the next thing that Izzy would say might be important.
"How would you feel about possibly going on a date? Like just the two of us?" Izzy who had not looked up from where her hands continued to pick at a loose thread. However, as Simon used the remote that was now in his hands to turn of the tv, she looked up at his face. "I just though that it might be a good idea, like as a way to get to know each other better."
Simon was not sure as to what had changed Isabelle's mind, as up until this point, he was the one that would initiate the two of them spending time together. Whether that was through him showing up at her house unannounced or finding a reason to stay longer if he was invited over by her family. He would even be the one that would send Izzy texts, even if he were only getting one-word responses. Sometimes all that Simon got was a read receipt. "I am not saying no, I am simply curious as to what has made you change your mind? Like sometimes I feel like you are okay with me being around you and then others it's like you want to pretend that I don't exist."
Izzy instantly replied. "And I am sorry for that Si, to be honest my head is still all over the place and I haven't gotten used to the idea of any of this." Isabelle gathered a deep breath before she continued. "But after being with Clary and Jace, I realised that maybe it's time that we start making the most of what has happened. Like I need to get over that it has and start trying."
Simon was surprised by her words, hoping that what he had been saying in the last three weeks since meeting Isabelle might actually have started to make a difference. He quickly agreed to the date and the details were arranged.
...
The date was to take place within a newly opened restaurant that Izzy had been wanting to try with Clary for a while now. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with fairly lights strung across the ceiling. The diners? within, were all filled with chatter and laughter as they listened to the musician that was playing within the front corner of the dining room. The room itself was packed with people standing around their tables to be closer to their dinner companions. Whilst Simon was not her first choice, Isabelle was determined to make the best of this date.
It did not matter that Simon didn't open the door for her. Or pull out her chair. Or even hold her hand as they went through the group of people that blocked the path to their table to ensure that they stayed together. These actions did not go unnoticed by Izzy however and her mood had soured slightly before they had even placed an order for drinks. But there was something about that date.
Izzy also noticed that once the initial awkwardness was broken, the conversation flowed. Their laughter and voices joining that of the others. Simon was able to feel like he was only participating in the conversation, rather then fulfilling his usual role of carrying it.
Izzy was leaning forward on the table, trying to sit closer to Simon. She was becoming more animated as the conversation continued. Using her hands to articulate her points when the conversation was around something that she was passionate about. Isabelle was surprised as she was generally enjoying herself and feeling the most at ease with Simon within these moments. However, these aspects still did not stop her from wanting Simon to reach out and hold her hand. Or be slightly more of a traditional gentleman. To treat her more like Jace treats Clary. Not that she would ever tell Simon or Clary that.
...
Meanwhile, Clary and Jace were also on a date. Just simply sitting together within a quiet café, enjoying a cup of coffee as they talked. Their hands sat intertwined in the middle of the table as Jace's thumb absentmindedly drew a simple pattern on the back of Clary's hand. Clary was using her other hand to support her head as she had a lazy smile on her face. The conversation had a flirty undertone each trying to get the other person to blush. The two of them both so focused on the conversation that they are not aware of the other people within the room. It was like they were living in a bubble that included only the two of them.
The ding of the bell above the door went unnoticed. The individual that had caused the bell to make a sound when they entered, however, noticed the happy couple. It was Aline. She felt compelled to interrupt and try to dampen the mood that had been created. Aline looked down at her outfit, noticing that if she were to undo a button, she could put on a show in front of her former flame. Aline decided that she would pull her shirt down so that it would sit just above her bra line. As she moved towards the table where Clary and Jace were sitting, she made sure to sway her hips attempting to steal the attention of the room. However, it was not until she spoke, that her presence was even noticed.
"Hi Jace," Aline started with a seductive smile, that was quickly dropped as she turned to greet Clary. "Clary." Her eyes were filled with venom. "I enjoyed our little chat. And I thought that all your ideas for your wedding were fantastic." Her voice was dripping with sarcasm. "Too bad that you aren't going to actually be used though. I may consider some for my own." Her eyebrows raised and her mouth formed into a straight thin line, as if it were trying to say that is too bad. She turned to face Jace again with her smile now back in place. "See you soon, Jacey.". Aline turned around and left the café as quickly as she came leaving behind a confused Jace and a frustrated Clary.
Jace squeezed Clary's hand that was still held with his own. "What was all of that about?" Jace questioned, hoping that Clary had noticed that during the Aline's impromptu moment he was desperately watching Clary's face to make sure that she was okay.
Clary took a sip from the coffee mug that sat in front of her, enjoying how the warm liquid felt as she swallowed. She was allowing herself the luxury of processing what had just happened before she answered Jace's question. "When I last saw Aline, I wanted to let her know that whatever was the between the two of you is over. So Iz and I started talking about things for our wedding. Like a theme, colours, and other stuff like that. Aline was there giving an opinion, that was ignored. She got frustrated and left. I honestly thought that would be the end of her meddling." Clary let out a sigh as she finished her explanation.
Jace chuckled softly raising Clary's hand to his lips to place a soft kiss there, causing her to grin. "That was not what I expected when you said you wanted to confront Aline. But you had the right idea. Maybe it is time that we start picking things like colours, themes and even a date. Let's plan this wedding.".

I am still needing reasons for why these marriages need to happen and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for reading!
P.S. The ending of the TV version was crappy. But I can also see why they did it that way.
