Skye didn't know how long Steve held her until she finally stopped crying. They ended up on the floor, with him holding her tightly to his chest letting her work through everything she needed to, she could feel how wet his shirt was from her tears. She wiped her face and looked up to him.
"Thank you Steve," her voice was hoarse. He gently tilted her chin up,
"You okay?" he asked softly, she nodded
"I will be, it is never fun to go down memory lane though especially with him, and just him telling me everything it is just hard to process." She just kept looking at his face and he smiled a little slowly getting up and then offering her a hand.
"Ever the gentleman" she smiled a little at his hand before taking it, letting him help her up.
"For what it is worth I am sorry about the pain you have in your past, and the pain you are dealing with now," Skye just smiled softly at him nodding, she took a few breaths.
"Do I need to go back to the common room or can I just go to sleep, I am exhausted?" Steve just gently guided her to the elevator and pressed the number to her floor.
"Get some rest Skye, we will all be here when you are ready. I will let everyone know you wish to be alone right now" Steve let the doors close with only her in there and waited before heading up to the rest of the team.
Steve noticed the tension in the air once he got up there, and Bucky jumped up at the sight of him, Steve just shook his head.
"She wanted to go sleep so I told her we would give her time and be here when she is ready" Steve told them directing it at Bucky, but Bucky just clenched his fists.
"Bucky, she needs some time alone to process everything, you can hardly blame her. The past few days have been rough on her" Steve said gently but Bucky was still tense.
"She doesn't need to go through this alone" he gritted out, and Steve sat down.
"She isn't going to, but right now we need to give her time to sort out everything, and pushing her won't help you've said that many times yourself" He reminded Bucky who was staring at the elevator as if he was debating about going up to her. He finally let out a sigh and sat down next to Steve in a chair.
"So what now?" Bucky asked as the group looked at eachother. It was Thor who spoke up,
"We need to prepare for Thanos I suppose"
"And how exactly are we supposed to do that? We don't know anything about him except what he did to New York years ago." Tony said rubbing his face, he didn't want to think about the attack on New York how he almost lost his life.
"We could get more information from Loki" Coulson spoke up from the corner and everyone gave him a confused look he shrugged,
"Loki isn't our ally but I don't think he is our enemy right now, not with Skye in the picture and he keeps saying how he needs to protect her, so why not use that? He has to know something right?" He directed the last part toward Thor.
"He may know some of the plans Thanos intends on carrying out, but he was trying to get Lady Skye away from us, not sure he will work with us" Thor said rubbing his chin,
"What if we offer him a deal?" Natasha suggested
"We can offer to let him go, but he wouldn't be able to step foot on Earth again after he helps us" Everyone looked at eachother contemplating.
"It could work, but that means he won't be able to see Skye again, not sure he will agree to that" Steve finally broke the silence, Bucky stood up and headed toward the elevator.
"Let's find out then" he didn't even glance behind him before going down to see Loki. Natasha gave a knowing look to Steve silently telling him they better go after him; they both jumped up along with Thor and followed Bucky down to the cells. Bucky Slammed the door open and then went directly to Loki's cell, Loki just looked up and smiled.
"I was wondering when I would get a visit from you again, my daughter's protector, or is it torturer?" He sneered, but before Bucky could attack Steve held him back,
"Buck don't" he warned Loki just laughed
"You wouldn't last a second against a God, no matter what Hydra enhanced you with" he challenged before Thor stepped in front of him blocking him from Bucky.
"Loki stop, we have come to..." Loki cut him off,
"Ask for my help? My how the tables have turned, let me guess you want to make a deal with me in order to help you fight Thanos?" Loki sat back, smile growing and resting his hands on his lap.
"Well are you willing to listen to us?" Steve asked, still holding a hand on Bucky's shoulder.
"Let me talk to my daughter, and then I will tell you what I decide" Bucky fully snapped at that roaring past Thor and gripping Loki by the throat Loki just touched his metal arm before it went dead. Bucky growled and punched his with his other arm, but Loki just stepped casually out of the way,
"What my daughter sees in you is beyond me" Loki teased and Bucky tried again and again finally landing one punch knocking Loki back just one step, his face darkened at Bucky. Thor ripped them apart, finally having enough of this. Steve looked at Bucky's metal arm and told him to go find Tony to fix it. Bucky didn't want to agree, but Steve was now glaring at him. Bucky turned only once more to Loki,
"She isn't your daughter no matter what the tests say"
Loki almost shattered the cell, but Thor was there pinning him down.
"Brother calm down and listen to us!" Bucky threw the door open and left before Loki finally shoved Thor off and straightened his jacket.
"I told you I will not decide anything, I will not tell you anything until I speak with her" Steve finally stepped into the cell,
"She wanted time alone, so it might be a while before she wants to see you or talk to you" Steve leaned against the wall calmly.
"In the meantime will you listen to what we offer?" he asked and Loki looked between him and Thor and nodded sitting down on his cot.
"What do I get out of this?" he finally asked and Thor told him.
