A/N: Hey guys. I don't own Fablehaven. Enjoy.
Prompt by McFloon.
Seth was sitting in the living room. He was so bored. Kendra and Bracken were wandering the preserve, Warren and Vanessa were on a date in town, and Tanu was nowhere to be found. What was he supposed to do?
Tanu practically kicked the door down. He walked in holding an old looking video game. Seth jumped up and ran to the samoan. "Dude what do you have there?" Seth asked curiously.
"A video game console. I ran into Kendra and Bracken and told them to meet me back here soon." Tanu responded.
Seth and Tanu waited for 15 minutes. Kendra and Bracken walked in holding hands. "Alright Tanu, what is going on?" Bracken asked.
"My dad gave me this console. He told me to only play it with people I truly trust. So I'm playing it with you guys." Tanu told them.
"Aww Tanu I'm touched." Kendra teasingly said.
"Ya, ya. Anyway, he told me we needed to only touch the controllers to play the game." Tanu shrugged and reached for the controller. Everyone else did likewise.
Suddenly all of them were transported to Pac-Man.
"Where are we?" Bracken asked.
"We are in a video game." Kendra said. "What I don't know is why?"
"My dad said this is a trust exercise." Tanu said. "Play this with people you trust. This is a very extreme exercise. If you die here you die in real life. Same if you receive injuries." Tanu explained.
Kendra was now terrified. "What are we in Pac-Man?" She asked.
"We are the ghosts." Tanu said. "I'll be red, Bracken blue, Seth orange, and Kendra pink."
Everyone nodded. There were shirts they could wear to distinguish colors.
"Who is Pac-Man?" Seth asked.
"Pac-Man is a computer. He isn't anyone." Tanu said.
"I have a question." Bracken said. "How do we win?"
"We win by working together and trapping Pac-Man. That's why it's a trust exercise." Tanu said.
"Alright let's go." Seth said ready for this.
"Hold on shorty," Tanu said. "We have to follow the rules of the game. Which means I start, Kendra follows, Bracken comes out third but only when Pac-Man eats 20 pellets, Seth comes out last when a third of the pellets are gone."
"Why do I come out last. I have the worst patience." Seth complained.
"Honestly dude because you're the youngest and the three of us can do it. You'll come out when we need you." Tanu explained.
"Okay." Seth said disappointed.
"Let's start." Tanu said as he left.
"See you later." Kendra said as she walked out.
"I think it's my time to leave." Bracken said.
"How do you know?" Seth asked.
"It's just a feeling. You'll know." Bracken said and left.
Seth just sat there waiting. Wondering if he would be needed. Then he had a feeling that he could leave. So he let the room. He wondered around trying to find the others. Where were they? Then he heard crying. It sounded like Bracken. Was he hurt? He started sprinting. Though he didn't move any faster. Stupid video game rules. He walked to save his energy. He turned the corner and found his friends. Bracken was crying because Kendra was hurt. Dang it that girl couldn't handle anything. She appeared to be unconsious while Tanu was running -walking- around Pac-Man.
"Bracken put Kendra down we have Seth let's finish this." Tanu yelled.
Bracken reluctantly put her down and sped walked toward one end of Pac-Man. Seth caught on and walked to the other side of him. They cornered Pac-Man. They won!
Everyone was transported back to the living room. They all turned to find Kendra sitting up rubbing her head. She was alright. They all agreed to never touch that game again.
A/N: Sorry this is late. Apparently weekends aren't my thing. I'm working on the chapter for the The Last War so look for that. Special thanks to Yakall, NaoSa, and puppydog68. I loved all your reviews. Bye. :)
