A/N: So I know I haven't updated this story in a long time due to other stories, but I promise more side stories to be complete and more of this story's chapters to be done. Also I may have made changes to what I originally intended with this fic influences from a few marvel/dc games and interactions and certain storylines to develop. So anyway enjoy!

Chapter 15: Attack on the Baxter Building

Arc: Attack of the Villains

[With Question and Deadpool]

They both walked and kept walking and walking until they reached their destination.

"Why are we here?" The Merc with Mouth sked impolitely.

Question responded "To have collection of info on Project X. Perhaps there's more to it than it meets the eye."

"What do you mean?" Deadpool asked feeling confused.

Question sighed and said "How should I put this... As soon as the girl, Angelica showed herself, there's not a lot of to work with here. Her entire life is like missing in files, internet archives, government archives, and so on."

Deadpool suggested "So? We can just let the heroes deal with that, while you and I part ways."

Question added "No can do." He paused. "We're gonna follow a trail left behind her. Basically, follow her footsteps. And we're gonna start with Doom Manor."

Deadpool sighed not wanting to be part of this, but couldn't have an urge to leave Q alone. "Great... another side story or quest like we're in a video game... why Doom Manor though?"

Question explained "Last tracing was here if we can talk with Dr. Caulder about this issue, I think we'll be getting somewhere."

"Oh so this is some clarity on some BS, we don't need to know." Deadpool groaned.

"It's not BS when you're trying to find out about someone. At least this version of Project X has to come from somewhere." Question added. "Besides, the Doom Patrol, while a little crazy, have some useful insights in this sort of stuff."

Deadpool rolled his eyes underneath his mask as he continued to walk with Question to Doom Manor.

[Moscow...]

Hank Henshaw kept attacking GL until Cap threw his shield at him only for it to bounce back Steve. Though a distraction it was enough for Henshaw to be hit by GL's green energy blast form his ring, Static's electric shocks, and Iron Man's UniBeam. All 3 combined attacks cause a disruption to Cyborg Superman who is pushed back by the energy blast into the abandoned LexCorp lab that the heroes were going to investigate.

Widow asked "is it over?"

"Should be." GL felt it was right enough that Henshaw was put down.

Cap pointed out "I don't know something about this doesn't feel right."

Batman asked "What do you mean?"

"Check inside the building." Cap ordered and the other heroes did as they told and went on investigating.

"I scanned the place, seems no life forms are in it." Stark stated.

"Technology to our enemies are always advancing these days, Stark. Could be invisible to use to there whereabouts." Batman stated.

Stark remarked "You're one to talk, Wayne. There's many things going on I don't think I can keep up."

"Well if it makes you guys feel any better I found something..." Cap pointed out and gestured to the nearby footprint that appears to be familiar.

Iron man and Batman took notable scans of the footprint and admitted that it belong to Venom.

"Venom? Why is he here?" Scarlet Witch asked.

"For a vacation," Ice joked.

Widow humored Ice by adding, "Brock going on a vacation is unnecessary for him. Specially since Parker is in New York."

"Another motive, perhaps." Ant-man suggested. "Moved on from Parker."

"Whatever the case, he was here. I'll head back to New York and ask Spider Man myself if he's seen his old friend, Brock. In the meantime, take cyborg Superman onto the Quinjet and have Fury interrogate." Batman ordered as GL said he can cuff Henshaw and they be on their way.

[Baxter Building]

It was definitely not a good day. Doom-bots were invading the place and Ben Grimm was not having it, so it was clobberin' time!

"How many more of these things are there?!" Grimm asked as he kept clobbering the Doom-bots to pieces.

"Just keep destroying them until they're gone!" Reed ordered.

It was going on for 16 minutes until Superman showed up taking care of them that is until he heard someone call him by his Kryptonian name and is female.

"Kal!"

He turned to see it was Kara, his cousin also known as Supergirl.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Same as you, helping." Sh replied as she fired off her heat vision on the Doom-bots. Clark smiled at that, there was no stopping the the two of them now.

Until the last of the Doom-bots were destroyed, Reed asked Clark about that.

"It's Doom, he and Red Skull were behind Project X." Superman summarized the situation at hand.

"I see and they want the girl because...?" Reed asked out of curiosity.

Superman suggested "Don't know. But We're gonna upgrade our protection for her."

"Why? If Doom is after her, she's gonna need more than just the Fantastic Four." Reed questioned.

Superman remarked "I know which is why Kara and Conner will protect here in the Baxter Building. Doom unlocked all the prison systems releasing every enemy out there so that is why we have to protect her."

"Sure thing, Big Blue." Johnny Storm said only to get elbowed by his sister, Sue Storm.

"Why didn't you tell us in the beginning that it was Doom? Or why didn't SHIELD tell us?" Sue asked and Superman clarified that the helicarrier was under attack by Doom-bots and how Doom contacted Fury telling him everything as for intentions, no one knows why.

The Fantastic Four agreed for Kara and Conner to stay and watch Angelica, only that was also going to last awhile.

[Unknown location...]

"You told us you'd have her!" The villain known as Grodd shouted at Doom.

Doom retorted "I did, didn't I. I do know where she is at the Baxter Building."

"Great at the Fantastic Four's place." Metallo shook his head in disappointment.

Doom retorted again, "I do not see you concocting any plan, Corben. Besides, we must time this right for the event to occur. And I have a backup after my machines failed."

All the villains listened closely to his plan and as it appears, the real fight is about to begin.
