I made a Pinterest board for this fic. It has a section about Betty's style, My OC's styles and what Betty's social media would look like
Anyway, here's the link, if it doesn't work then either search fanfic116 in accounts or When it all comes crashing down in boards.

Chapter 9
They were driving again
"I'm so glad we met Betts, I could never love anyone else like I love you" Wyatt admitted "Me too Wyatt, I love you so much" They went around a bend and then saw a bright blinding light. Wyatt tried to stop but he wasn't fast enough.
"Betty" He grabbed her hand.
"fuck"
There had been a truck. On the wrong side on the road. Wyatt didn't see it in time.
Two blinding lights suddenly blazed ahead like two shining eyes trying to pierce the impenetrable darkness – and with a jolt Wyatt and Betty realised a truck was speeding towards them, going the wrong way from the opposite direction. Wyatt slammed on the brake the sound of the car's screeching brakes and tires skidding on the wet pavement. A huge blow hit the car, and it seemed like an immense weight was thrown on them; the last thing they saw was a waterfall of glass cascading down and the car turning before everything went black.
Betty opened her eyes even though it was tough. Had she fallen asleep? She could taste copper. She couldn't move. Her knee was in terrible agony. As she noticed she screamed. Everything hurt. Her left knee the most. Her wrist throbbed and her skin stung. She felt the coldness in her hand. She wasn't able to see what is was before her vision went blurry and she found darkness once again.
Betty lay there quietly, keeping her eyes closed, matching breaths to the beeping of the machines that surrounded the bed, the only indications of her heartbeat, her existence. A weird object in her mouth, her left leg was numb. Curiosity slowly pried open her swollen eyes to meet a dismal view of a white hospital bed, a blue curtain around the bed. She was in a hospital she soon realised. Her heart monitor quickened. There was a shocked gasp beside her on the right. Betty looked around scared. Her eyes met Cassie's.
"Hey, hey calm down. It's okay Betty" A doctor came running in after hearing the monitor.
"look who's awake." He said "we can take out the ventilator now so she can talk" He took out the uncomfortable tube.
"wha-" Betty's raspy voice shocked her. Her aunt passed her a Styrofoam cup of water. Betty had a sip. Her throat felling a little better. "you're in the hospital Betty. You were involved in a head-on collision with a truck" Betty was still confused. Then she remembered. The memories flashed through her brain. Wyatt
"you were severely injured" The doctor said bluntly but sensitively.
"do you want to know what your injuries are" Cassie asked warily Betty nodded gently.
the doctor began to read from a list on his clip board
"worst first. Your knee." Betty looked down. It was covered by the blanket. Cassie lifted it up or her to see. A large cast was covering her leg from her thigh to her toes.
"you tore your ACL. Shattered your knee. We tried the best we could to re build it but we could not completely fix it. And there is severe damage to the tissue, muscles, blood vessels and the bone."
"so, my knee is completely fucked" The doctor frowned sympathetically
"it is most likely you will never walk again without a wheelchair and in time crutches" Betty's face scrunched and she nodded.
"what else"
"during the crash, a large piece of metal pipe impaled your upper stomach, narrowly missing your lungs which cased internal bleeding but we got that under control but you will experience bad stomach cramps and paint regularly which we can give you medication for."
"are you okay Betts?" Cassie asked. Betty nodded silently crying.
"you have lacerations to your face which had to be stitched up. And last of the main injuries. Your hand."
Betty subconsciously tried to move her hand but couldn't. The doctor looked to Cassie for support. Betty knew this wasn't going to be good.
"Betts. Your hand was crushed and most of your finger bones and wrist bones broken."
"how?" Betty asked noticing the dull pain in her hand, they must have her on strong painkillers.
"when the paramedics arrived, you were holding hands with Wyatt and that side of the car had been crush and your hand was trapped and broken." Cassie winced
"Wyatt?" Betty asked sharply "where's Wyatt?" She asked loudly.
Cassie and the doctor both paled and shifted uncomfortably.
"I think its best if Cassie explained" The doctor offered
"could we have a moment alone?" Cassie asked and the doctor left. "uh, Betts"
Cassie's tired eyes welled up with tears
"no" Betty whispered
"He died on impact"
"No!" Betty yelled starting to sob, she felt completely empty "No you're lying fuck you"
"Betty I'm sorry"
"No, no, no" Betty repeated. Cassie held her tight trying her best not to put pressure on Betty's injuries. Cassie began to cry softly while rubbing Betty's back. Betty was muttering to herself frantically not making sense to Cassie and sobbing. Cassie couldn't do anything but hold her.
The next day Betty was able to concentrate enough for the doctor to talk about treatments even though she hadn't said a word since learning that Wyatt had died except for a mumble of messy words when told she had been asleep for three and a half weeks.
She calmed a little when told Wyatt's funeral hadn't taken place and that his parents were waiting for Betty. But she became frantic again when told that they couldn't put if the funeral for much longer and that it would probably take place in a few days when people are informed of Betty awakening.
