Sorry, it's been awhile.

I didn't know Gunha was the 7th ranked because scientists couldn't understand his power, thanks. Maybe Emilia would get raised to the 6th rank because of this.

This one is a bit long, it's also mostly dialogue too.

Let's get started then.

"Well, your friend's hospital bills are all paid up." X said casually.

"That means I'm done right?" Emilia said, hiding her emotion of hope.

"No."

"What's stopping me from killing you right now?"

"Why don't you go ahead and try? It isn't just me y'know."

Azusa yawned on her bed as the sliding door opened. Of course, it was Emilia visiting again.

"Hi Emilia! How was everything?"

"Great as always. You heard about the new level 5?"

"I sure did. You're hanging out with the Railgun right?" Azusa asked.

"Yes. She's nicer than you think. How's your rehabilitation going?"

"I don't know, I can walk now, but for some reason they're still not letting me out. I mean what more do they want from me, right?"

"Yeah." So that's what X is doing. He has the whole hospital under his control.

What am I going to do?

Emilia was sitting down in her room, peacefully listening to calm music. After the stress and worry over what's going to happen to Azusa, she needed to relax. It was obvious that X has the upper hand, having the hospital in control, it also explained why Azusa's hospital bills were abnormally high. She sensed Ruiko's heat signature come into the room.

"Hi Saten." Emilia said, still closing her eyes, listening to quiet music.

"Hey. You finished your homework didn't you?" Ruiko's voice said.

"Sure did." Emilia replied, still closing her eyes in relaxation.

"Do you think you can help me with some of it?" Ruiko asked hopefully.

"Sure." Emilia proceeded to grab two glasses, fill them with water, and set them on the low table.

"Right now?" Ruiko asked in surprise.

"The earlier the better right?"

"Right." Ruiko set the pages on the table and took a sip of water. "It's so hot. How can you act like the air conditioner hasn't been broken down?"

Emilia raised an eyebrow. "It has? Well, let me try to fix that." Emilia raised her hand and cooled the room and the two glasses of water. She gave a lighthearted smile. "That's a thermal hand for you."

"What level are you?" Ruiko asked suddenly.

"I think I've told you that I'm a level 1." Emilia replied.

Ruiko stared at Emilia for a moment. "Oh well, let's get started! How do you do this one?" Ruiko said, pointing at the first problem.

"Don't tell me you are going to ask for my guidance for every problem on the page." Emilia groaned.

Ruiko grinned. "No promises. Now how do you do this one?"

"That one is fairly simple, just use the 2nd formula we used. You could do it more quickly if you factor the equation first." Emilia said.

"Todoroki, how are you so good at this?" Ruiko praised.

"I love this subject. What I love about this subject is that there is always only one correct answer.

"Straightforward and blunt as always huh?" Ruiko said.

After finishing every question on Ruiko's homework, Emilia suddenly asked. "By the way, did Misaka join judgement?"

"No. Why would she do something like that?"

"I don't know. I just saw her with a judgment armband, sweeping the floor."

"Really? Thanks for helping me with my homework. I'm going to invade the judgment office now. Wanna come with me?" Ruiko offered, standing up.

"No thanks." Emilia declined. She put in her headphones again and sat on her bed, eyes closed.

"Okay, bye!"

"See you."

Back into class, Emilia was sitting on her desk paying attention in class. The class was extremely boring, but in case there might be something new to learn, Emilia still paid attention in class.

"Hey, Todoroki." Ruiko quietly whispers to Emilia. "So you want to come shopping with me?"

Emilia remembered that she had another mission today.

"Her power is very interesting. It's almost as if she has multiple abilities. I would pay you a fortune if you would hand her over to us." A scientist said.

"No means no. I can see much more benefits for me in keeping her." X replied.

The scientist sighed. "Well, we want to know more about Zero. Could we give her some tests to accomplish so we can better understand her power?"

"Zero does more missions than tests. Stealing, killing, and ambushing is more her style. She doesn't like facing her opponent face on, so I don't think your tests will be accurate."

"That does make a fair point. How about we assign a mission for Zero to analyze? You will be paid accordingly, of course. The missions will be everyday, you may pick anytime."

"In that case, I think 4:30 pm or 2:00 am will do." X said, smiling.

"Hey Todoroki?" Ruiko asked.

Emilia snapped back to reality. "No sorry, I have things to do."

"Come on, it can't hurt right? You said the same thing as Uiharu did!"

"No."

"Well, it can't be helped. Were you staying up overnight? Your eyes say it, you didn't even bother putting on a ponytail either."

"I don't think I'll wear a ponytail anymore. I kinda think this messy hair fits me."

"Well it's not as straight as mine, but I suppose it is pretty decent." Ruiko pointed out.

"Okay, class dismissed!" The teacher announced, she started to erase the lesson about AIM fields on the board.

Emilia stood up, waved Ruiko goodbye, took the mask and dagger out of her bag, and walked to the hideout.

"About time you show up." X said, just as the teen in the mask shows up.

"Okay, for your last mission, you are to guard a certain research facility and ambush anyone who decides to intrude." The scientist said. The woman looked like a diligent person with brown hair and glasses.

"And if no one shows up?" X asked, raising an eyebrow. This mission was especially unique. Most missions involved Emilia to destroy robots, and defeat certain people.

"Good for you I guess, but I can almost guarantee someone will. Someone's been stealing our data, so it'll be like knocking two birds with a single stone."

Before the two adults could say anything more, Emilia put on her earphones and turned on her music. She then immediately left the place as soon as the scientist gave the location.

Emilia kept her head low to the ground. It was still day time, and Emilia didn't want to risk having anyone recognize her armed and with a black cape. She still kept her mask on too, of course.

She dropped by a grocery store and bought some ramen, snacks, and a bottle of water. Once she bought her groceries, she went into a dark alley so no one would be giving her any more odd looks for wearing a mask and a cape. She walked the building without using her ability, she shouldn't use it when there's still light.

She entered the building through the window and took a look around. She entered by the time it started to get a little dark. It was hard to believe that the place wasn't abandoned. The lights are barely working, it's dusty and drafty. In fact, Emilia almost considered the place to be a storage area rather than a research facility.

Emilia shrugged the confusion off and settled on the metal floor just like she did on her other missions. She suddenly got a phone call from her friend and roommate Ruiko.

"Hello?" Emilia asked discreetly. She took a look around to make sure there wasn't anyone attacking the place yet.

"Hey Todoroki, you couldn't come shopping with me, right? Could you come tomorrow?" Ruiko asked. "Misaka will be coming too."

"Sure. What time?" Emilia asked casually. It would be only natural that Ruiko would still want to go shopping together.

"4:30 maybe? By the way, is Misaka fond of you in any way?" Ruiko asked suddenly. Emilia could feel the curiosity in her voice.

"What brought this on?"

"Well, it's just that she started calling you by your first name, and she always seems to want to know more about you. It doesn't help that you're so mysterious all the time." Ruiko said with a chuckle.

"My first name kinda fits better y'know? You can call me Emilia too. But I don't want to look back into the past."

"Sure! Anyway, 4:30 tomorrow. You got that Emilia?" Ruiko said cheerfully.

"Ye-" Emilia felt a heat signature coming into the place.

"Is something wrong?"

"No! Okay, bye!" Emilia ended the call in a hurry.

She took a peek at exactly who was entering the building. It was a group of 4 girls walking into the place.

Emilia was confused. Why would a group of girls almost as young as her come to this place? Even more, she was supposed to attack them?

I'll just ask them to leave. It's not like they'll be stealing anything. She came out the shadows and put her hand out.

"Hello, you're not really supposed to be here. Could you just leave this place?" Emilia said calmly. She still had her mask on, and she kept her dagger away in her pocket. She didn't want to scare them off, after all.

But Emilia can't help but look at their outfits. One girl was wearing a school uniform, which was strange; no one would want to wear a uniform this late in the night. Another was wearing a newsboy's cap, which was a strange thing to wear, for a girl. At first, Emilia almost mistaken her for a boy. A short girl seemed to be wearing a face mask with a strange symbol on it. Strangest of all, the last girl seemed to be wearing a maid outfit? What are those anyway, cuffs?

After what appears to be an eternity of silence, one of the girl's finally spoke.

"Is that the target? He looks more like a wannabe hero." The girl in the newsboy's cap said.

"I wouldn't underestimate him, but I don't think he's the target. Eliminate him." The girl in the mask said.

He? Emilia thought, confused. Does my voice sound that deep? It's probably the- Emilia's eyes widened. Wait, they're going to eliminate me? Aren't they just a bunch of kids?

The girl in the maid outfit jumped up. "Oh leader, could I kill him? I think I'd love to see him scream."

"Go ahead."

Suddenly the girl in the maid outfit became surrounded in paper and became what appears to be a mutant teddy bear.

Emilia was beyond confused. She was supposed to be guarding the lab by someone trying to steal data.

"I can almost guarantee someone will." The researcher's voice flashed in Emilia's mind.

Emilia smiled under her mask. So that's how it is? I think I'm going to love letting out some steam.

Emilia adjusted her mask and jumped backwards to dodge the teddy bear. She pulled out her phone and started tapping on it.

"You have the nerve to pull out your phone in front of me!" The girl in the bear suit yelled. She charged in her attack once again against Emilia.

As Emilia kept dodging, she found the perfect music that fits a 4 on 1. She put on her ear phones and turned up her music.

The bear yelled something out of anger again. Probably an order to stop dodging. The bear, probably for the 20th time tried to punch Emilia. This resulted in Emilia simply side stepping, grabbing the bear's arm and froze it until it shattered into pieces like glass.

Of course the bear and the rest of the team had an appropriate reaction and the black haired girl charged for Emilia as the brown haired girl started treating the brutal damage done by Emilia.

The girl in the school uniform started to slide towards Emilia at an astonishing speed. Emilia simply went low and swept the girl's legs, causing her to fall backwards. Her eyes widened after what she saw.

He's a guy?

The "boy" got up and began to charge straight for Emilia again. She put out her right hand towards the boy and her left on the right next to her head as if she was carrying a bow and arrow.

Emilia performed a trick that she sometimes used when she's in trouble or feeling creative. By instantaneously changing the temperature of certain spots with her hands, she created a projectile made of pressurized air.

Emilia fired an arrow made of wind itself towards the boy. It pierced straight through his stomach and kept going until it also hit the so called "leader". Emilia's cape flapped in the wind created by her own projectile.

The remaining girl was still trying to heal her teammate. To Emilia, it looked like she was in a panicked state.

The 3 girls and 1 "boy" were onto the floor. The girl with the newsboy's hat started to scream something. Emilia normally didn't do this, but she decided to take her earphones.

"I said who are you! Answer me!" The girl yelled.

"Call me Zero."

Everyone gasped in surprise.

"The 8th ranked…"

"We're all going to die!"

Emilia crossed her arms. "Cool it. The job I was hired to do was to defend the place, not necessarily kill anyone. So if you could just leave, I'll be just fine with that. If you can walk, that is.

The 4 kids were confused. Most of the level 5s are pretty crazy, so this isn't what they expected.

"T-thank you. I'm Lizumi Rita." The leader says, getting up with her eyes closed, fighting the pain. "This is Seike, Naru, and Yakumaru." She says pointed at her teammates.

"Just go." Emilia said.

The scavengers began to slowly get up and walk away, supporting each other. None of them were injured in the legs, so they should have no problem walking. Emilia sat back down on her spot, drank the tea she recently made before the fight. She spit it out immediately.

"It's cold." she mutters with a sigh.
