Chapter 16: Taki's POV
~*~Taki POV~*~
I dully watched Syaoran trying to grab one of Sakura's book. It was almost a month since I met Sakura and her gang. Syaoran, the wandering spirit, and Eriol, the grim reaper. It wasn't normal for a human, spirit, and grim reaper to be together in one place. I mean, over 100 years of being a ghost, I never seen anything like this before. Especially Sakura, who was able to see spiritual beings. I seen shaman before, but they can only sense spiritual beings. So, I knew Sakura was special. She was my last chance.
"What are you doing?" I asked Syaoran, who was trying to open the book with his ghostly hands.
"This is Sakura's favorite book," said Syaoran. I walked over to the book and glanced at the title.
"How to find a perfect boyfriend?" I read out loud.
"You got to be kidding me. Sakura read these kinds of books?" I asked, denying the thought that Sakura was desperate for find a boyfriend. No wonder Syaoran used that excuse for her to help him. He knew from the beginning that Sakura wanted a boyfriend.
"This is hopeless! Taki open the book for me. Can't you possess Touya again?" asked Syaoran.
"You really don't understand what it means for a ghost to possess someone. It means that I'm sucking up his spiritual energy, baka," I said, feeling annoyed how clueless Syaoran was.
"What?! Does that mean Touya can die?" Finally, he was getting the point.
"Yes," I answered, coldly.
"Also, it means the ghost can be turned into a dark spirit," said Eriol as he appeared out of nowhere as usual. The existence of grim reaper was always a nightmare for me. They can easily send me away from this world without any mercy. But lucky for me, Eriol care less about capturing a ghost. I wonder why.
"Hi Grim," I greeted. He glared right back at me. I feel like he was slowly warming up to me.
"Dark spirit?" retorted Syaoran.
"But of course, I'm powerful enough to control that," I blurted out, hoping Eriol will give me some slack. I usually only possess once a month, but this month I went overboard.
"And it's my job to get rid of them before they turn," added Eriol. I avoided eye contact with Eriol. Why does grim reaper had to be so scary?
"I'm going to check on Touya!" said Syaoran as he quickly floated out of the room.
"Me too!" I said as I quickly followed him behind. There was no way I'll stay alone with that evil reaper. We went into Touya's room and found him asleep on his bed. He was sick when I possessed him, so I'm not surprised he was still knocked out.
"Is he dead?" asked Syaoran, worried.
"Don't worry, I didn't use all his energy," I said truthfully. But I did used enough to almost kill him.
"Hmmm his death date did shorten…." said Eriol as he stared at me. Damn it. He knows.
"WHAT?!" cried out Syaoran.
"How short? How many days does he have?!"
"Quiet Spirit, you're starting to annoy me."
"He's already annoying me…" I mumbled out. I should not possess for a while. Or else, I won't be able to control how much energy I eat. I can't turn into the dark spirit now, especially when I found someone that can finally help me end my nightmare. I heard Touya moaned as he slowly opened his eyes. Was he waking up already? It hasn't been a day yet.
"What happened?" I heard him say, weakly. Touya looked up with his tired eyes. He rubbed his eyes as if he was trying to control his vision. I wonder, can he see us? Touya stood up from his bed and slowly walked out of his room.
"I guess he is fine," I said, feeling relief that I didn't kill him.
"I'm still worried," said Syaoran as he disappeared. I sighed out, helplessly. He should be more worried about himself. Meeting a wandering spirit was rare. There were two types of wandering spirit; first, people in coma, and second, people got possess by a dark spirit. I wonder which one Syaoran was. I followed Syaoran downstairs, where I saw Touya holding tightly onto his stomach.
"Something is wrong with Touya," I heard Syaoran say
GROWL!
"Looks like he feeling what you ate last night," said Eriol.
"Hmmm… all I ate was sweets…" I thought out loud.
"Dad, do you hear that?" asked Touya.
"Hear what?" wondered Fujitaka. I stared at Touya for a moment as he looked over toward us. No way… can he hear us? I looked over toward Eriol and Syaoran, who doesn't seem to noticed.
"I'm glad he is getting better," said Syaoran.
"Better? He seems worse than before. Maybe I shouldn't have ate those chocolates…" I said, regretfully.
"If I catch you possessing someone again, I'll make sure I'll send you right to Hell," warned Eriol. I could feel the chills throughout my body when Eriol mentioned the word, Hell. Would that be the place I'll be going after all this was over?
"Don't worry," I said as I avoided his eye contact again. I will leave before he will do that anyway.
"I'm back!" said Sakura as she entered the house.
"Sakura!" yelled out Syaoran as he floated toward Sakura, excitedly.
"Is Touya awake?" asked Sakura as she ignored Syaoran's presence.
"He just rushed toward the bathroom," said Fujitaka.
"Sakura!" called out Syaoran as he tried to catch Sakura's attention. Oh, what's this? Something is off between Syaoran and Sakura.
"Is it me, or is Sakura avoiding me?" questioned Syaoran.
"She is avoiding you," I quickly answered as I smirked.
"Did I do something wrong?" he asked. Was he serious? He was using her to find his body. If I were Sakura, I would hate him for disrupting my peaceful life.
"I'm wasting my time here. We should be looking for the Dark Flower," said Eriol. I forgot about the Dark Flower. If I help Eriol finding his dark flower, he will give his deal with Sakura to me. Then, I can finally use that to make Sakura help me.
"Maybe if we investigate on the ghost from last night, we will find a clue," I said.
Syaoran sighed out, helplessly. "You guys go on without me. I'm not in a mood to work right now," said Syaoran, sadly.
"Look like you're love sick," I teased as I enjoyed seeing Syaoran suffer.
"Suit yourself," said Eriol as he disappeared.
"Wait for me!" I yelled as I quickly followed Eriol behind. It was a matter for second when we arrived to Sakura's school. I floated around the gym, where the accident took place.
"Isn't it strange that the ghosts attacked humans?" I asked. Eriol ignored my remark as he walked around the gym.
"If the Dark Flower was really behind this, that mean they know about Sakura," I commented. Eriol froze for a moment and looked over at me.
"What did you say?" he asked.
"Come on Grim, why would the ghost randomly attack Sakura?" I said, pretending that I know what I'm talking about.
"It means that they knew she wasn't normal. The real question is, how did they know that she wasn't normal?" It was strange. The ghost without a form means that they just passed away. There was no way they could have sense that Sakura had spiritual powers. I, on the other hand, took me over 100 years to find her.
"It's someone that knew who Sakura was," mumbled out Eriol.
"What?" I glanced at Eriol, who seemed to be deep in thoughts. So, it was someone that already knew about Sakura. Someone close by probably. But who? I glanced over at Eriol, who had a big smile on his face. I wonder what was so amusing for him to smile randomly like that?
"Only someone who has the Dark Flower can control weak ghost," said Eriol.
"We have to go back," said Eriol as he quickly disappeared again.
"Wait up!" I said as I quickly try to follow him. Damn, he sure was fast. He probably went back to Sakura and Syaoran. I went back to Sakura's house on my own pace. The moment I reached to the house, I noticed Touya leaving. Where was he going? I thought he wasn't feeling well. Curiously, I followed Touya behind. I watched Touya enter a dark building. As soon as I went inside the building, I knew something was off.
"I'm looking for my sister." I heard Touya say. I quickly followed his voice and noticed him standing at the end of the dark hallway. Who was he talking to?
"I wonder if it's the cute girl that just pass by." I heard another voice.
"Do you know which way she went?"
"Actually, she just left the building."
"Great…"
"What's your name?"
"Touya."
"Nice to meet you Touya. My name is Yukito. I hope we meet again."
"Thanks for your help."
"Strange, where did they go?" said Touya as he toward me. As Touya walked pass me, he glanced at me and shift his body away from mine. What the heck? Was he trying to avoid me? Can he really see me? Maybe the spiritual power runs in the family? But he couldn't see me before. I wonder if it's because his body was in a weak state.
"And who are you?" I heard a voice behind me. I turned around and saw a tall man, standing before me. He had short gray hair and wearing circular glasses, which hid his brown eyes. I stared closely at him as I knew he couldn't be human.
I smirked, amused. "You're a spirit."
He smiled back. "And you're a ghost." I don't know if it was because I was inside a creepy building without lights or his voice just sound creepy. What are the odds that I run into another spirit? Wait a minute, Touya came into this building looking for Sakura. That mean Sakura was here also.
"Where is she?" I asked.
"She?"
"I didn't see anyone leave this building, so she must be still here," I said.
"She will be okay." His voice was calm and eerie. So, he does know about Sakura.
"He won't hurt her right now, especially when a reaper is following her." He also knows about Eriol?!
"Who is she with?" I asked, curiously.
"She is with my body…" his voice suddenly sounded sad. Then I realized it. The second reason why people turned into a spirit; people who got possessed by a dark spirit.
"Bingo. I think I found it, the Dark Flower," I said as I smirked.
