-Chapter 8-
Huey woke up the next day feeling rather groggy. He looked over to check his phone and saw that it was 11:30 am, it was the latest that the revolutionary had woken up. The party was over and Huey was grateful, but he still hated himself for seeing Sarah naked and the image never escaped his mind completely. The young man got himself ready for the day by getting dressed, washing his face, brushing his teeth, and so forth. He headed downstairs and saw Granddad pouring himself some lemonade and had a sandwich on the counter. Riley went out to see Cindy, which was a relief for Huey. It wouldn't surprise the revolutionary if his little brother was friends with benefits since they had spent a lot of time with one another.
"Well look who's finally up!" Grandad greeted, as he sipped some freshly, squeezed lemonade from a tall glass.
"Hey Granddad." Huey replied, still feeling the groggy affects. He decided to make himself some coffee to give him the caffeine he needed.
"Boy, why are you making coffee so late?!" Granddad asked. "Here, try some of this lemonade." he offered, handing him a glass. Huey looked at the lemonade. He didn't remember buying it from the store nor was it ever in the fridge until now. Not to mention the pitcher looked awfully familiar.
"I didn't know we even had lemonade." Huey commented, taking a small sip. It was delicious, but even the taste of the lemonade was familiar to him. "Where did you get this?"
"You like it? It was from Mrs. Dubois. She brought this over last night for the party." the elderly man stated. Huey felt himself nearly spit out his drink as he took a sip, not because he didn't like the taste, but mentioning Sarah startled him a bit. He handed his grandfather back the glass as the events of last night came back to him.
"I'm not thirsty anymore." Huey stated.
"I don't know why, this is the best, damn lemonade I have ever tasted in my life!" Granddad praised. "Way better than that peach cobbler, but uh..we'll keep that to ourselves." he added. The older man liked the Dubois matriarch but all the Freemans can agree on the peach cobbler, however Riley was the only one who was vocal to her about it.
"By the way, Granddad..you said you had a date coming up?" Huey asked. "When it is?"
"It's coming up next Thursday, why boy?" Granddad asked, finishing his lemonade.
"I'll be staying over at Caesar's that night." Huey lied while watching his grandfather put the lemonade in the fridge. Since Grandad would be with his presumably younger date, the old man wouldn't suspect a thing going on since he'd be occupied. The elderly man nodded, giving his approval. Huey had known his grandfather trusted him, which is why he felt guilty for lying.
"Well, have fun. Just take life easy while you're still young." Granddad advised him before heading to the living room with his lunch, however he then paused. "Oh and make sure you don't call me while I'm on my date. She's super fine and I'm not gonna ruin my chance! Y'all can take care of yourselves, at least I know you can." he added, taking a jab at Riley.
As days passed and Thursday night arrived, Grandad went on his date. Riley took this opportunity to go out somewhere to probably make money and mischief. Huey however was at a Marriott lobby, which like all establishments were owned by the Wuncler family, much to his dismay. It was a nicer looking Marriott than what most people were used to and it even had a lounge and bar.
Huey actually had Sarah's number in his phone which he had nearly forgotten about. Granddad had made him save the Dubois family's numbers in their phone in case there was an emergency. He called the housewife on her cell, wondering if she'd pick up. "Hello?" said a voice from the other line.
"Mrs. Dubois, it's me." Huey said quietly, trying to keep a low profile. He doubted anyone he'd known would be at this Marriot, but he didn't want strangers listening into the conversation.
"Huey! Where are you?" Sarah asked.
"I'm at the Marriott, the one on Harrison Avenue." Huey replied. "I called because I want to take you out for drinks." he stated, getting the point.
"Did you book a room?"
"Not yet." the revolutionary replied. "Now I know it's late and-"
"Give me an hour." Sarah interrupted before hanging up. Huey arched an eyebrow, she must've really wanted this to happen. He didn't know what to expect as he had never taken a married woman out for a drink before. The pit of his stomach returned, he felt disgusted that he was meeting her here, but at the same time he began to feel more drawn to her.
He headed to the counter, where he was greeted by the hotel receptionist. "Welcome to the Marriott, sir. What can we do for you?" she asked.
"I'm looking for a single room." Huey stated, handing the woman his license for identification. He watched as the woman input everything in the computer. After everything was situated, the receptionist returned the license and handed the room key. Huey then headed to the bar to wait for the mother at a table that was more hidden from the public. He ordered an Old Fashion and waited patiently, maybe it would take the uncertainty from him. He could always turn back now and forgot this all happened, right?
The waiter returned with the drink then left the revolutionary alone under his order, at least until his date would arrive. After moments of being alone, he then saw her from a distance as she just entered the building. She was actually earlier than he anticipated. Sarah wore a long strapless, black dress that had a slit for the leg, along with matching heels. Her neck was adorned by a small, diamond necklace and she wore watching diamond earrings. Huey thought she looked nice in that. They both noticed each other, prompting the mother to approach the revolutionary. Huey scooted over to make room at the table.
"It's been a while." Sarah greeted, sitting next to the younger man.
"It's only been a few days." Huey corrected. "So...what did you tell Tom?"
"I told him that I was visiting relatives." Sarah replied. "And you?"
"A friend's." Huey replied. "You know what you want?"
"I'm in the mood for a martini." she replied, not having to look at the menu. Huey nodded and called over the waiter, ordering the drink for her. The two sat there in silence with Huey not knowing what to say. Sarah looked over at the young man, while he didn't show it though his stoic expression, he knew she was nervous. It was a woman's intuition. She placed a hand on his, slightly rubbing it to soothe him.
"You know you don't have to be so nervous." Sarah commented as her drink finally arrived.
"I'm not nervous, Mrs. Dubois." Huey lied. He was just better at showing it. How was he supposed to feel? Sarah was going to have an affair with him after all.
Sarah only sipped her martini, not buying his statement. "So..have you booked the room yet?" she asked.
"I have." he replied. "It's room 715." he stated.
"Good, I like the view from up there." she replied. Huey gathered that she had been there before, but he wondered if it was with Tom or another man. It wasn't any of his business but he couldn't lie, he was actually curious. Before he could say a word, Sarah spoke up first.
"Let's get out of here." she said, finishing her martini. Huey eyed her curiously, she just got here and she already wanted to leave and go to their room. She was forward as she was anticipating getting into bed with him, he actually kinda liked it. It fed his ego a bit as bad as it sounded. He wondered if he was no better than Riley at this point.
The revolutionary signaled for the check, which he paid for. They had decided to come at different times to avoid suspicion. Tom was a big time attorney so the possibility of someone noticing his wife with a younger man was possible, but fortunately no one really paid mind to her. Nobody probably even recognized her. Huey had to decide to go up first, unlocking the hotel room with his key. It was a room that was always kept in pristine condition, the bed was made up, and the floors and wall were spotless. Even the bathroom was perfect and it even had a lemon scent inside. Huey made sure the window blinds were closed just in case.
Shortly after, Huey heard a knock at the door, assuming it was Sarah as planned. The revolutionary opened the door for her, allowing her inside. Sarah quickly walked inside, setting her purse down while Huey shut the door. He gulped a little, there was no turning back down, right?
"Still nervous?" Sarah asked, removing her shoes and jewelry, knowing what they were planning to do. Huey rolled his eyes, but she wasn't entirely wrong. He just didn't like hearing it.
"What would take for me to convince you that I'm not nervous?" Huey asked, approaching the mother.
Sarah slyly smiled. "Well...what do you think?" she questioned, turning around to face him. "What do you think you should do?" she asked again in that same seductive tone. Huey felt himself challenged, he knew he'd have to do lots of convincing for her. When he was close enough, Huey carefully cupped her face, surprising both of them. However he didn't do anything yet, but their eyes met each other. The revolutionary knew what he was doing was wrong, he was betraying Tom and even Jazmine, since it was her dear mother.
Huey then whispered to her. "This…"
All forms of common sense flew out the window when Huey leaned in, capturing her soft lips with his.
