Katara POV

I was walking towards the park where Jet should be waiting for me. I remembered the day we got together, the day I made the worst decision of my life, the day I lost my best friend, and as I realized later the love of my life, all because I was blinded by my crush on what was supposed to be an amazing, charming, talented guy. Little did I know, that guy confessed his love for me and I stabbed him in the heart.

Flashback

I was walking towards my home, still thinking about my disagreement with Aang. I was an emotional person ever since my mom died and I'm known to lash out in my anger or sadness.

I saw Jet with his friends walking towards me. I decided to tell him how I feel. I was sure that he liked me back, all the boys did.

"Hey, guys"

''Hey, Katara, what are you up to? " Jet asked giving me his charming smile making me blush.

"Nothing much, I was hoping I could talk with you. In private.! " I said giving him a loving look.

"Of course, go guys I'll catch up with you" His friends nodded and left us on the sidewalk

''So what do you want to talk about," He asked looking me in the eye I took a breath

''Well Jet, I think you're handsome and charming, and I was wondering if you want to be my boyfriend?" I asked hoping that I won't receive the same answer I gave Aang.

He smiled at me ''Yeah sure, you're smart and beautiful, of course, I would love to be your boyfriend"

He took my hand and kissed it making me blush even harder.

"Great, do you mind taking a picture with me?" I asked giving him my loving smile.

"Of course not, give me your phone" he demanded, and I complied without a thought. He took my waist as I hugged him and took the photo.

" You're welcome, I also put my phone number, I'll give you a call later today." He left me with a kiss on the cheek.

I looked at the photo and thought "maybe this will make him understand " I went to Aang profile and sent him the photo and a text which said ''we're together, get over me". I thought this will help him move on, and I guessed I was right when he sent me back ''don't worry, I will"

I returned home happy that I have a great boyfriend and my best friend understood. I know things will be a bit awkward between us. I also have to apologize to him for the things I said. It was unfair to him.

Later that night, I talked a bit with Jet. He wanted to take me out tomorrow after school for some dinner. I happily accepted and went to bed giggling which of course attracted the attention of my brother, but I just ignored his demands on why I was so happy.

I went to bed eagerly awaiting the next day, so I can be with Jet and apologize to Aang.

Little did I know that today was the last time I'll saw him for the next 6 months.

End of the flashback

I wiped a tear that formed in the corner of my eye. Every time I would think of that day I would start crying. Only the spirits know how much I regret the decisions I made that day. It was the day I lost everything. Of course, I still had the rest of my friends and a boyfriend but no one will ever come close to how much Aang means to me.

I arrived at the park and saw Jet standing on the bench smoking. Another thing I hated about him, he was a smoker.

I made my way to the bench and he gave me his charming smile when he saw me. Truth be told I don't find him that charming anymore.

"Hey Jet," I said while sitting down next to him on the bench. He went to a kiss on the mouth, but I put my hand on his chest to stop him.

"We need to talk".I said with a serious look on my face.

He smiled at me "What about? Do you finally want to go to the next level and spent the night with me?" he again went for a kiss, but my hand stopped me again.

I smiled a bit knowing that I'm about to burst his bubble.

''Actually no, I was thinking about us. The boring dates that consist only of us making out, I thought about your attitude towards everyone else apart from your group and me and I thought about you flirting with other girls while being with me, and I am kind of fed up with you. We're done Jet, I'm breaking up with you." I grabbed my bag ready to leave, but he caught my wrist hard.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing? We're not breaking up until I have all of you!" He stated angrily. I felt frozen, I never saw him like this. Suddenly, he pushed me off the bench and I hit the ground with a thud." You don't get to break up with me because I'm boring. You are so motherly all the time and so opposed to the fun, but I never complained, did I? Also, you knew my attitude toward everyone and you still asked me out."

He grabbed my hands and lifted me. I couldn't say anything out of fear "The only reason I wanted to be with you is that you're hot, and I wanted to screw you" He started coldly.

But that only made me feel worse for choosing him over true love. I could only think of Aang's words "he will just use you then break your heart" I started crying again out of sadness, I didn't even care that he was hurting my wrists.

A groan of pain and a loud bang made me open my eyes only to see Suki with a big branch in her hand and Jet on the ground, holding his head in pain.

"Kat are you alright?" She asked hugging me tightly.

"Yeah, I just want to go home," I said between sobs.

Suki and I took off running away from the Park and away from Jet. We made our way to Suki's home and went to her room.

"What happened Kat? What did that asshole do?" Suki said. Her mother brought me some water and some cream for my wrists.

" I broke up with him and the rest you know. He reacted as I expected him too, but I wouldn't think he would hurt me. Thanks, Suki, I don't know what I would have done if weren't for you" I thanked her with a tight hug

"Anytime Kat. I mean, what is a BFF good for if not for knocking out cold an asshole ex-boyfriend." We bought laughed at this.

" Are you going to be alright? " She asked with a more serious look.

"Yeah, I'm just happy that I'm finally free of him. I wanted to do this for a while but I kept hesitating thinking he would change. But now I'm finally done with him" I smile at the thought then I remembered that Sokka would be away for the weekend

"Hey Suki, do you think I could spend the weekend here? Sokka is going away for the weekend and I don't want to be alone in the house." I asked with a pleading look.

Suki laughed. "Of course Kat you're more than welcome. But you should probably head home and bring some clothes and the rest of the necessary baggage."

I nodded, and we continue talking about our day until the sun started going down. Suki's father drove me home and waited while I put my things in a large bag, and we returned to Suki's where I would spend the rest of the weekend.

The next day

Aang POV

I was driving toward the hotel where my 'big brothers' were waiting. I was excited to see them again. We talked on the phone but it was something different spending time together.

I arrived at the hotel and saw two tall figures playing on their phones. I parked the car and head towards them but they haven't acknowledged my presence yet. I decided to scare them. I quietly made my way behind them.

"FLAMEO" I screamed as loud as I could.

"Ahhhhh" Both of them shrieked in fear almost dropping their phones.

"Nice to see that you are still as easy to scare," I said holding my stomach from laughter.

"You asshole, I almost dropped my phone!" Sokka sounded pissed but the gigantic smile on his face told another story.

"Aang, buddy," Zuko said while hugging me. I was surprised by this because he isn't a touchy person, except for Mai.

"Nice to see you to hotman," I said paying him on the back

"I told you to stop calling me that," he said angrily, but he was still smiling, so I couldn't take him seriously.

"Nice to see you too again Captain Boomerang" I turned to Sokka and gave him a manly hug.

"Good to see you, buddy, it's been far too long" He hugged me back.

"Look at you, you're taller than both of us and you have muscles," Zuko said looking at me with a proud smile.

"You guys look good too, it looks like you also put some muscles," I replied.

"You bet we did," Sokka said while flexing his biceps which made us laugh.

"Alright, enough with the chit-chat. Let's go to the apartment, my friends are waiting. I want you to meet them before the girls need to leave for their slumber party."

We made our way to the car and put their bags in the trunk, and we started our drive to my place. It was a 25-minute drive, so we had time to catch up.

"So guys, how are things," I asked keeping my eyes on the road.

"Pretty good, nothing too crazy happened. The team is doing very good, we're confident the final is ours." Sokka said with a smug grin.

"Not if Royal reaches the final, it won't" I said giving him a grin in return.

" I heard you guys are one of the best scoring teams in the competition," Zuko said from my right.

"Yeah, that's right but is mainly because of our striker and my best friend Seb. He has an instinct for goals and we form a great duo up front"

"I wish I could say the same about Jet. I always pass him the ball, but I never receive it back, not until the coach warns him that he'll come off if he isn't playing for the team." Zuko replied with an annoying voice.

"Sucks to be you" I said laughing "I hope if both of our team reach the finals everybody will play at their best, so we can enjoy our win more" I said giving them another smug smile.

"You guys wish, we're going to mop the floor with you guys" Sokka replied while Zuko was laughing.

"Alright, let's make sure we reach the final first. Both of our teams still have to play 2 more games until then." Zuko said calming us down.

The drive came to an end, and we were going up to the apartment when I realized I forgot my phone in the car.

"Guys I left my phone in the car. Here, it's apartment 91 on the 4th floor." I said giving them the keys." My friends are already inside"

"Alright, but come back quickly, so I won't be stuck with Mr. Awkward, here," Sokka said giving Zuko a shoulder nudge.

I laughed aloud when Zuko punched him in the gut and went downstairs.

Sokka POV

Zuko and I reached Aang's apartment and opened it with the key he gave us. The door flew open, and we were greeted by five people looking at us. It was already a bit awkward but of course, Zuko had to make it worse.

"Hello, Zuko here" he gave them a hand wave and I slapped my forehead (I had to do this, that scene is amazing )

"Hello, Seb here" replied one of the guys.

Luckily we were saved by Aang who was surprisingly fast.

" So, did you get to know each other? " he said, taking the keys from my hand and closing the door.

" We just entered, we didn't have time" replied Zuko

" Of course, Zuko introduced himself with '' Hello, Zuko here," I said in a mocking voice while receiving a glare from Zuko and laughter from the unknown people that were currently sitting on the couch.

Aang POV

I laughed at my old friend's words. He was always more awkward around new people than the rest of our group.

" Well, let's properly introduce you to each other. Sokka and Zuko, these are my friends at Royal. Seb, Hideo, Kuzon, Rayla, and Maya" I said pointing at them to let the duo get familiar with their names.

"Guys, this is my old and best of friends Zuko and Sokka."

The guys gave each other a handshake, while the girls just said "hello" from the couch.

"Nice to meet all of you and thank you for taking care of Aang," Zuko said with a smile while sitting down in the armchair

" Nice to meet you too and don't worry, Aang takes care of us more than we do of him" Hideo replied with a laugh which made everyone burst out. They didn't need much time to warm up to each other.

"Yeah typical Aang, making sure everyone is happy and keeping them out of trouble," Sokka said smiling at me.

" Alright guys, give me your bags, one of you can sleep in Yangchen's room and another in my room, I'll take the sofa. " I got up and picked their bags.

"Are you sure? We can both sleep in one room, one in the bed, and another on the floor." Sokka said and Zuko gave a proving nod.

"Yeah, don't worry, the sofa is more comfortable than it looks"

The rest of the day went fast with discussion mostly about embarrassing stories about me.

"And one time, Aang tried to jump over a fence, but he caught his pants and rip them apart" Everybody laughed at this while I sunk in embarrassment on the sofa.

"Wow, you were an airhead," Kuzon said laughing.

"What do you mean 'were'? He still is one. Remember when he tripped on his laces and fell face-first on the pitch in training." Seb said while almost falling off the sofa from laughter.

"Alright guys, leave him alone, or I'll tell stories since me and Seb we're little and Hideo still had a girlfriend. Remember them guys?" Rayla came to my defense as usual. This made the instantly shut up but Sokka and Zuko kept laughing

"Do you want me guys to tell the stories about Yue and Jin?" I asked knowing that this would shut them up. And I was right

"Thank you, Ray," I said giving her a thankful smile, and she returned it.

"Oh how the time has passed, Ray is nearly 8, we have to leave to reach Carla's house," Maya said while getting her bag ready.

Rayla just noted and got her bag from the coffee tables.

"Do you want me to drive you there?" Seb asked.

"No, don't worry. I asked a friend to pick us up and drop us at Carla's." We walked the girls to the door.

"Take care of yourself girls," I said giving Maya a quick kiss while Rayla and Seb were making out hard.

"You too guys, don't overdo it. You have a match Monday and the team needs both of you and Kuzon fit" Rayla said with a more serious look.

"Don't worry we'll just play some games and maybe drink a beer or two," I confirmed with the guys who just nodded.

The girls left and we returned to the sofa for our planned boys night which consisted basically of us playing video games and drink beer. ( don't drink when you're underage kids ).

"So Aang, you and that girl Maya, what's up with that?"

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Sokka's question.

I smiled a bit." We've been together for 3 months now. She's awesome."

"Why don't you tell them how you met"

Seb caught me off guard with this knowing that we didn't meet most conventionally. I was worried about what the guys would think of me but now that the topic was in the open I couldn't lie.

"It was around 3 weeks after I moved away and we threw a party. I got a bit drunk and I and Maya started talking and dancing with each other. She told me her feet hurt so she left me there and went into my room. I decided to follow her and I think you can imagine what happened. I didn't want to date her at first but in the end, I asked her out and here we are." I concluded looking down.

"So you hooked up with a girl after knowing her for an hour? I guess you're not the same Aang that blushed when a girl would compliment him" Zuko said while grinning.

"Oh, I'm still the same Aang but that night the alcohol lend me a hand" I replied with a smile and looked at Sokka who had a blank look on his face. My smile dropped a bit but quickly returned when he looked me in the eye and he gave me a genuine toothy-smile.

"Good for you buddy, I'm happy to see that you moved on." He finished with a nod which made me nod back.

I knew that sometime today or tomorrow we will talk about me and Katara.

We started playing some NBA 2k21 and Mortal Kombat which I absolutely killed at it.

"How are you so good?" Sokka asked frustrated.

I laughed at his exasperation "I guess I just am"

We also drank beer the whole time and we were already a bit tipsy when the clock hit 10 and the Royal gang was supposed to leave.

I ha to call Seb's dad to come to pick the boys and drop them home. I would have done it but I went over the limit too. I went down to the alley and said goodbye to my friends and returned inside to my two guests asleep on the sofa.

I snickered at them and pick them up and dropped them in their room, but not before I got a pillow, a blanket and my pajamas.

I sat down on the couch thinking about the future and how will I be able to see my friends more often.

Little did I know that Zuko's dad was in the city to answer my problem.

The next day. I woke up and I felt something tickling my nose. I put my hand to scratch whatever itch I had but instead I was met with something wet all over my face and laughter near my head.

I opened my eyes and saw my two friends dying of laughter because I had wet bread all over my face (fuck you Alex if you're reading this)

"Spirit's sake Sokka, did you really have to do this?"

"Sorry Aang, but I couldn't pass this opportunity"

They continued laughing while I washed my hand and my face

"Whatever, let's just eat something."

I made 3 sandwiches and a Zuko made us some cups of jasmine tea as his uncle taught him.

"It seems like you take after your uncle more every day," I said laughing at his blush.

"Don't tell him that" he said a little shy. We all laughed at this and we got up from the table to get ready.

Today we were going to play a game of 2v2. Me and Seb against Zuko and Sokka with Kuzon in goal. I also suggested we play some drills together, and after we can go to play pool or bowling with the girls.

"When are we supposed to meet with Seb and Kuzon?" asked Sokka from my room.

"It's only eleven, we have until 1 to get ready then we have to go to the football ground we rented because the school doesn't allow us to play on ours" I shouted back from the bathroom.

"So what are we supposed to do until then?" Zuko asked coming out of Yangchen's room.

"No idea, do you guys have any suggestions?" I asked leaving the bathroom and heading towards my room, so I can get changed too.

"Sorry, it took so long, I couldn't find my socks." Sokka apologized to which I laughed and patted him on the back.

" Don't worry, like I said we have time."

"Let's just go outside, it's too nice to stay inside," Zuko suggested and we agreed.

I dressed up in some black Nike shorts, a white t-shirt and I had my black Nike Adapt BB on my feet.

Zuko had a red t-shirt and black PUMA shirts and a white pair of Adidas UltarBOOST 20.

Sokka was dressed in a blue shirt and shorts of the same color. He also had a vest in case it rains as he said, but I didn't we would see a drop of rain for some time. He also had a white Air Jordan 1 Retro.

We left the apartment and drove to the park, so we can take a walk and talk about things some more.

We mostly talked in more detail about my life and I asked them how the rest of the group is doing to which they responded "Everyone is doing their own thing".

The time passed and it was time to return so we can drive to the pitch.

We got our training kit from the flat and drove to our destination where we saw Kuz and Seb already doing keeps-ups.

" Hey guys" I waved at them while getting out of my Mazda CX-30.

"You finally came, I thought I would die of boredom. Come on, we only have an hour and a half rented." Seb said while opening the gate to the pitch

I and my two friends changed and run to the pitch so we can finally play. I never played in a 2v2 against Sokka and Zuko and I wanted to win

"Ready boys? Me and Aang against the Kyoshi guys with Big Kuz in goal. First to 5 goals wins". Seb shouted.

We nodded and the goalie threw the ball high in the air. Seb was fighting with Sokka for possession of the ball and my teammate won it. I quickly ran past Zuko and Seb assisted me perfectly for the goal.

1-0 for Royal.

" Lucky goal. We weren't ready"

Sokka always finds an excuse.

"Leave the excuses for when you can't finish in bed " Seb replied which made all of us including Sokka roll on the ground from laughing.

Kuzon threw the ball in the air again but this time Sokka won and he dribbled past Seb and he was heading for the goal. I made the mistake of letting Zuko unmarked as I run after Sokka who just passed the ball in front of the goal where a free of marking Zuko just pushed it into the goal

1-1

And that is how the game went for the next 40 minutes when the score was 4-4 and we were in possession.

I had the ball but Zuko would not let me pass him so I had to find a way to get the ball to Seb who was guarded by Sokka.

Sokka took his eyes of Seb for a second but that is exactly what he needed and he got away from the boy with the blue eyes.

I saw him and got a bit of space with a overstep that send Zuko to my left and I passed the ball to Seb who finishes it with his left foot in the lower-left corner.

I and Seb celebrated our win while our opponents were catching their breath.

"Good game guys, you certainly gave us a run for our money." We shook hands with Zuko and Sokka.

"You are much better than I expected and you turned Aang into an amazing player," Zuko said looking at Seb

"I just suggested the coach to let him play and he did the rest by himself. He is talented, very talented."

After this, we took a break, and then we did a few passing and shooting drills together. We found out that Kuzon has a hell of a long shot. "We have to use that more," I thought.

After our time passed we returned home and took a shower and the boys packed their things because they were leaving later tonight.

We will meet with the girls at " The Black Ball " a half bar half arcade.

We drove there and we met the girls who were both dressed in dark blue jeans, white shirts, and white converse.

We greeted them accordingly, me and Seb kissing our girlfriends and the boys hugging them.

We bought a room for 2 hours along with some non-alcoholic drinks and we started playing pool and ping pong while listening to music and joking about topics like school or football.

Out time passed rather quickly and it was time to say goodbye to my old mates. I really enjoyed their company but everything comes to an end.

Before they left, Sokka pulled me away.

"Look, I know that you don't like to talk much about Katara but I just wanted to tell you that she heard me talking with you yesterday and she wanted to come but I convinced her otherwise. Don't ask how. Anyway, she wanted me to tell you that she misses you a lot, we talked more about you guys but this is everything I'll tell you. You have to talk to her to understand everything."

I didn't know how to feel. She is missing me and she still is with Jet. "What? Does she expect me to go running at her" but at the same time I was happy that I wasn't the only one who is missing her?

"Look Sokka, I want to talk with her, I really do but I just don't feel ready. I miss her a lot too and I promise you that if you reach the final then so will i and I will talk with her face to face ."

He nodded "That's more than I could ask for, thanks Aang".He hugged me and we said our goodbyes said that we won't see each other for a while.

I know that I could see all of my friends again in two months if we reach the final.

I'll also have to confront Katara if that's the case but I know that we'll have to talk with each other sometime.

I said goodbye to the rest of my friends and headed home ready for a new week and the tough game we have tomorrow.

Later that night at the Kaiyō residence.

Katara POV

Sokka just arrived home and I told him to come into my room when he's ready unpacking.

A knock disrupted my thinking and my brother emerge from the door.

" I know why you called me. I told him you miss him and he said he misses you too a lot but he still isn't ready to talk with you. But he promised me that if both of our teams reach the final then he will talk with you face to face." My brother told me.

It was more than I could have asked for. I only need to hope that our team will win the next games so I can see Aang.

"Oh, how did the break-up go?" my brother asked.

I took a breath and I told him everything that happened.

"I'll kill him," Sokka said with an angry look.

"I'll kill him and I'll feed him to the stray dogs."

"Don't. Suki did more than enough. I am just happy that I'm done with him." I pleaded while holding his fist.

"Are you sure? I can call Zuko and we can rough him up?"

"In fine, Sokka just tell me how is Aang"

My brother proceeded to tell me everything. About how good a footballer he is, about his friends and his girlfriend. I knew that it would be a matter of time before someone would get him. He is a perfect boyfriend ,if only I could have seen that.

I went to sleep hoping that if I won't have Aang as a lover then I would be content with being best friends again.

Well, this was definitely a long chapter, my longest actually so I am sorry if it's a bit rushed at some point but I didn't want to be THAT long.

I also asked some of my friends of stupid things we did when drunk 'cause I wanted to write some of them here but no one remembers anything:)))
