"What?"

"I'm sorry, Tigress. I... I really didn't want to tell you this."

But... how?! There must be some other reason to why she had never seen another tiger... another reason to why her parents were so scared the night they left her... Tigress had just gotten told that her species was dying out, near extinction.

"It's the message I received from Master Oogway." Shifu explained. "South China tigers have been endangered for quite some time, and Oogway has made me realize that it's time I should tell you."

Tigress stumbled back, almost tripping as she felt her legs weaken. Unknowingly, she began to slightly tremble. She took in a few shaky breaths.

She could only think the worst had happened to her parents. Before she could even attempt to find her parents, there was a great possibility that they were already deceased.

Tigress ran.

Shifu sighed in sadness as he watched her run down the palace stairs. There was still a lot he needed to tell her, but he figured that he should give her the space she needed.

The red panda turned to the palace doors and as he pushed them open, he saw, faces? He saw five faces...

Po laughed nervously as the other four warriors gave their master edgy smiles. Shifu threw his arms in the air in question.

"H-Hey M-Master..." Po waved as the others tried not to sure their fear.

"How long have you been here?!"

"Like, almost the whole time." Po said while backing away from Shifu.

Tigress ran until she was all the way to the bottom of the Jade Palace's stairs. Then, she stood, still trying to comprehend everything going on right now.

No past.

No parents.

Probably no chance at finding either of the two, because...

Her species was endangered.

Could the world just leave her alone? All Tigress had been wanting lately was to just be alone. She needed time to herself to think.

"You look like you've just seen a ghost, Tigress." someone laughed.

"Li Shan?" she asked as she bowed in respect. She mentally sighed, seeing that she wouldn't get to be alone.

"You don't have to keep doing that bowing stuff to me all the time. It's uh... it's kinda weird."

Tigress rose back to her original posture and nodded. 'Showing respect was weird?' Either way, Tigress was compliant with his proposition.

"You are the Dragon Warrior's father, Li."

"I know, I know, but you guys are friends, right? You shouldn't have to keep doing that." Li argued and smiled.

Tigress gave him a fake smile back, trying not to make it obvious. She thought she was holding up pretty good so far.

Li's stomach growled. He looked down as he chuckled as he patted his stomach a few times.

"You wanna go get something to eat?" Li said turning his gaze back to her.

"No, thank you." she replied as she shook her head.

There was silence as neither of them knew what else to talk about. Li Shan suspected something from her.

"You know, when pandas aren't hungry, it usually means something's wrong."

"I see." she said. "But, I am no panda, Li Shan."

"Well I know that." he chuckled. "But, is anything wrong?"

Tigress shook her head no as she tried to look as perk herself up as much as she could.

"Oh, come on! There's gotta be some reason you're out this late." Li said as he put his paws on his hips.

She couldn't help but compare Li Shan to his son. In many ways, they seemed to be so alike, such as, the way they know when someone is upset.

"I couldn't sleep." he admitted. He looked at her sadly. "Nightmares."

Tigress gave him a look if sympathy. She walked closer to comfort him. He noticed that her eyes almost seemed to glow in the dark.

"I keep losing him." Li explained. "I dream that he keeps getting taken away from me."

Tigress thought about all of the times she had experienced the same thing. She thought of Shen, when he got hit, and she thought he... was dead. She thought of when he took Kai to the Spirit Realm. It hurt. It hurt so much...

"So, why are you out here?"

Tigress contemplated a little before deciding to tell him. She didn't want to talk to anyone about it, but, she didn't want to keep things from anyone.

"I found out that my... species... is dying out."

The panda looked dad, but then picked her up and hugged her as tight as he could. 'Like father, like son.' Tigress thought to herself.

This is kind of a crappy chapter, sorry. I'll update as soon as I can.

Peace.
