Chapter 9 - Together as a Family

Lilly's POV

We were losing. There was no use saying otherwise. I watched as the Alphas around me fell to King's forces and they closed in on us. An Alpha had pinned me to the ground and was about to finish me off, but suddenly Vincent threw him off and clawed his throat. "What are you doing here?!", I shouted, as the rest of our force came in and started fighting King's Alphas, "you were supposed to wait!".

"Excuse me, Lilly", Vincent said, "but we saw you were in trouble and we weren't about to let you get killed, not when there was something we could do about it".

"We?", I asked.

"Yes, Lilly", Kate said, as she approached me after slitting an Alphas throat, "we".

I saw Humphrey claw at a wolf's throat and he fell to the ground dead, "that's for my mother", he said, then moved on to another wolf.

A wolf ran at me and I dodged him, then spun around and clawed his back. He yelped in pain, then a wolf swiped at his head and it came clean off. "Hello again, Lilly", the wolf said, "what's your plan to finish this?".

Suddenly, we heard a howl and looked up to see the entire Sawtooth Pack had arrived.

Eve's POV

Winston, Tony, and I looked down at the battle below and saw not only Kate, Humphrey, Lilly, and Garth, but also about thirty other Alphas fighting alongside them. Even though they somehow found a force to take on King, he still had about eighty or more Alphas on his side. Winston howled and the wolves below looked up at us, "let's finish this!", he shouted, then we charged down the slope.

I didn't waste any time, I ran right ahead of everyone else and tackled the first wolf I saw and ripped him apart. The rest of our Alphas soon followed and we drove through King's forces heading straight for Lilly and the others. I spotted Miles amongst the group of Alphas, "you!", I shouted.

Miles looked in my direction and I swear he wet himself when he saw the murderous look I gave him. I charged right for him, clawing King's Alphas left and right as I ran, and tackled him. "Any last words?!", I growled in his face.

Miles just whimpered and he wet himself for real this time, then I dug my claws into his chest and he screamed in pain. I pushed into his chest with all my might and soon my paws were covered in his blood, as they went past his ribcage. Soon he stopped screaming and went limp after my paws crushed his heart. Once I felt the ground beneath him with my paws, I quickly pulled my paws apart and ripped Miles' body in half. "That's what happens when you mess with my family!", I growled.

Tony's POV

Despite the disk in my back, I came along because I wanted to make sure my son was safe. After Katrina was taken by King's Rogue Pack, I assumed that King had killed her, so Garth was all that I had left of her. I pounced on a wolf and pinned him to the ground, but another wolf threw me off of him and stood on my back, immobilizing me. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Tony", I recognized the voice as Link's.

"What do you think you are doing?!", I growled, "I'm your Pack Leader!".

"You think Miles was the only wolf in the Central Pack that was working for King?!", Link growled, "you're dumber than I thought".

"Get off me!", I growled, as I tried to get up, but Link had me pinned.

"You are going to stay right here and watch as my brother kills your only son", Link said, "then you'll be joining him".

I saw Lyle pounce on Garth, but a red and white she-wolf threw Lyle off of him, "get off my son!", she shouted, then ripped Lyle's head off.

The she-wolf saw me and gasped, then charged right for Link and tackled him off of me. "That's my mate, you son of a bitch!", she shouted, then clawed him to death.

I gasped for air, but I couldn't move because of the disk in my back, then someone hit my back and I was able to stand up. "Are you okay, dear?", the she-wolf asked, then I got a good look at her face and instantly recognized her.

"Katrina?", I asked, then hugged her, "I missed you so much!".

Katrina smiled, "I missed you too, Tony", she said.

I pulled away from the hug, "what happened to you?", I asked.

"I'll tell you later", Katrina said, "but right now our son needs our help".

We then ran towards our son to help him and Lilly fend off King's Alphas.

Winston's POV

King's forces were falling to our Alphas and Eve and I were fighting side by side. She charged off way ahead of me, but I quickly found her and Miles, or his head at least. Now we were fighting our way towards Kate and Humphrey, they may only be Omegas, but Kate sure takes after her mother and Humphrey took after his father. Kate ripped off one Alpha's leg and whacked another Alpha with it, snapping his neck, while the first Alpha screamed in pain over his missing limb. Humphrey silenced the first Alpha's screams by clawing open his throat.

We made it to Kate and Humphrey and they noticed us, "Mom!", Kate shouted, then ran towards Eve, tackling her in a hug. Kate pulled away from Eve, "what are you doing here?", she asked, "I thought the Sawtooth Pack couldn't get involved?".

"Kevin and Klark disappeared", Eve said, "and I wasn't going to let my offspring go into a war without me".

"Well…", I started, but Eve held a claw up to my face, "and I wasn't about to argue with your mother".

Eve smiled, "good boy", she said.

One of King's Alphas suddenly pounced on me and started clawing at my body. Eve threw him off of me, then slit his throat and turned back towards me, "are you okay, dear?", she asked.

I smiled, "I'm fine, Eve", I answered, "he just took me by surprise, let's finish what we came here for".

Rick's POV

Dad and I were fighting side by side, killing as many of King's forces as we could. We were enraged at King for the death of our mates and most of our family, including the capture of our grandpups and great-grandpups. I crushed the head of one of King's Alphas, while Dad ripped off another one's tail. We heard snarling behind us and turned to see about ten of King's Alphas baring their teeth at us. I looked at Dad, "together till the end?", I asked.

Dad nodded, "and we'll be with our mates once again", he said, then we charged towards the Alphas, possibly to our deaths.

King's POV

I couldn't believe what was happening. Winston and Tony had arrived with both of their packs and now my forces were falling to their Alphas. Princess had disappeared a few moments ago, shortly before they arrived. I figured she had probably abandoned me, "some family loyalty", I muttered under my breath, sarcastically.

"Father", Princess said from behind me, and I turned around to see her approaching me with a pup in her mouth.

"There you are, Princess", I said, "who's the pup?".

"Winston and Eve's son", Princess answered, "Kevin".

I smiled, "I know exactly what to do", I said.

Lilly's POV

"So what's your plan, Lilly?", Garth asked, as we fought King's forces.

"Just keep fighting!", I shouted.

Suddenly, King's forces stopped fighting and retreated, "what's going on?", Tony asked.

"Surrender now or your son dies!", King shouted. We looked up to see him holding his claws against Kevin's throat.

"Kevin!", Eve shouted from somewhere close by.

"Now surrender or this'll be the last that you see of him!", King growled, as he pressed his claws into Kevin's neck.

Kevin looked right at me and slightly nodded, then I saw Princess silently approaching King from behind. "We'll never surrender!", I shouted.

"Lilly!", Eve shouted, "that's your own brother!".

King sneered, "very well", he replied, "you're just as cold-hearted as I am".

King prepared to slit Kevin's throat, but Princess tackled him from behind and they fell both down the cliff, while Kevin watched from the top. Princess landed on top of King and quickly placed her claws at his throat before he could react. "Princess?", King asked, shocked, "what are you doing?".

"Something I should've done a long time ago!", Princess growled, then dug her claws into King's neck and ripped his head off.

King's forces looked at her in shock, then found they were outnumbered and outmatched. There were only thirty of them left, while we still had over a total of forty. Our Alphas went around and took King's forces away, while we counted our dead.

I found Logan and Ashley beaten and bloodied, their lifeless bodies bent and broken. I sighed, "I'm sorry you two", I said, then I placed my paw on their eyes and closed them, "you were great friends, be at peace".

Logan's POV

Ashley and I were dead. We watched in spirit form, as Lilly said her final goodbye to our bodies. I turned towards Ashley, "think Lilly will be fine without us?", I asked.

Ashley chuckled, "she'll be fine", she said, "her parents are quite proud of her".

I smiled, "that they are", I replied, then a white light appeared behind us.

"That's our cue", Ashley said, "let's go, Logan".

"I'm with you, Ashley", I replied, then we walked through the light and disappeared to the afterlife.

Humphrey's POV

Kate and I were looking for my father and grandfather. I had a bad feeling that they were with Mom and Grandma, but I wanted to at least make sure. We eventually found them underneath a few bodies of King's Alphas and found Grandpa Vincent dead. Dad was still barely alive, but his breathing was shallow, "Dad?", I asked.

Dad coughed up some blood and looked up at me, "H-Humphrey", he said, "don't worry about me, Son, I'll be with your mother again soon".

"Don't say that", I said, "we'll take care of you, you just hold on".

Dad shook his head, "no, Son", he said, "I want this, you have to let me go".

Tears started forming in my eyes, "no, I just got you back", I said, "I can't let you go".

Dad chuckled weakly, "you've done it before, Son", he replied, "take care of your mate and pups, and don't let what happened to our family happen to yours".

"I will, Dad", I said, then Dad exhaled for the last time and stopped breathing, "goodbye, Dad".

Kate pulled me into a hug, "I'm so sorry, Humphrey", she said, as she rubbed my back, "will you be okay?".

I smiled at her, "I'll be fine, Kate", I answered, "I just need a minute".

Kate nodded in understanding, "okay, Humphrey", she said, "take as much time as you need".

"Hey, Humphrey!", Cody shouted, "is it over?".

I turned to see Cody and Sanny walking up to us with Stinky and Tom following them, "it's over, Cody", I said, "do you mind giving me a minute with my sister?".

"Of course, Humphrey, but why?", Cody asked, then he saw Dad and Vincent's bodies, "ohh...I see, I'll give the two of you some time".

"Thank you, Cody", I said, then turned towards Sanny, "come here, sis".

Sanny came up to me, "what is it?", she asked.

I pulled her in a hug, "Dad's gone", I said, "Grandpa too".

Sanny looked over my shoulder towards Dad's body, "no", she cried, then pulled away from me and walked over to Dad. Sanny sighed, "at least he's with Mom again", she said.

I nodded, "that he is", I replied, then I saw Lilly approaching us with Winston and Eve.

"I'm so sorry, Humphrey", Lilly said.

"It's alright, Lilly", I replied, "you don't need to apologize".

"Grandpa's gone, isn't he?", Lilly asked.

"Yes, he...what?", I asked, "who's your Grandfather?".

Winston and Eve approached us, "you know?", Eve asked Lilly.

Lilly nodded, "it's alright, Eve", she said, "I'm glad that you took care of me after my parents died".

"Wait, I'm confused", I said, "you're adopted?".

"Yes, Humphrey", Kate said, "Vincent explained the whole thing to me".

"Adam and Angel are my parents", Lilly said.

I gasped, "Uncle Adam and Aunt Angel?", I asked.

"Mom and Dad told us that their daughter was killed along with them", Sanny said.

"They told you that, so that Lilly would be safe", Winston explained, "if King knew she was still alive…".

"He would've attacked us a long time ago", Eve finished, "Lilly has the same mind as her Grandmother, Luna".

"I think today has proven that", Winston added, then turned towards Lilly, "I'm sure your grandmother would be proud of you, Lilly, you did something that she never could".

"Thank you, Winston", Lilly replied, "but I had huge help from Kevin and Klark, this wouldn't have been possible without them".

"You planned everything?", I asked, shocked, "how in the world did you do that?!".

"I'll explain everything once we get home, but first…", Lilly said, as Garth, Tony, and a red and white she-wolf approached, "...we'll have a funeral for our dead and figure something to do with King's Alphas".

"Oh, I don't think they'll be a problem", Tony said.

"How come?", Lilly asked.

"Princess is now in control of the entire Alpha Empire", Tony explained, "and she's a lot nicer than King".

"By the way, where's the rest of the pups?", Kate asked.

Sanny chuckled, "Sanny and I think there's a little bit of puppy love going around", she said, "we saw Isabella and Zoë run off with Kevin and Klark earlier".

"And Claudette and Runt go off with Nars' pups", Cody added.

"They what?!", Kate exclaimed.

"Relax, Kate", I said, "we were around their age when we first started dating".

"Yeah, and look at where that got us", Kate replied, "we're not even two years old and we already have pups that are about to go to Alpha School".

"Hmm, fair point", I said, "we'll just make sure they don't have any so early then".

"How about we just go home?", Lilly suggested, "we'll worry about all this then".

"Good idea", Nars said, then we saw him approaching us, "Fleet, Magril, and I, are the only ones left of our pack, so we were wondering if we could join you".

"I'm alright with it", Garth said.

"Just one moment", I said, taking everyone by surprise, except for Nars, who just sighed.

"Whatever your father has told you, just know that I am sorry for what I've done", Nars said, "we've disagreed on many things, but after today's events, I've realized that what we were arguing about was quite stupid".

"My father hasn't told me anything", I replied, "I just wanted to know what it was".

"Well, trust me, you don't need to know", Nars said.

"Well, we're not going to let you into our pack until you do", Lilly replied.

Nars sighed, "fine…", he said, "we were arguing over who's sexier, Eve or Carol".

We all burst out laughing, except for Eve and Winston, who just stared at Nars. "you did, huh?", Eve asked, "so, who is sexier, me...or Carol?".

"Umm, no comment", Nars replied.

Lilly stopped laughing long enough to speak, "wow, that was unexpected", she said, "well, you're welcome to join the pack if you so wish".

"Thank you, Lilly", Nars replied.

Once the rest of us stopped laughing, we gathered our Alphas and started heading home together as a family.

Epilogue

THREE WEEKS LATER

No One's POV

It's been three weeks since the death of King and the fall of his Alpha Empire. The Sawtooth Pack returned home, but Lilly headed back to the former Southern Pack's territory and since she was Adam's son, the pack named her as their Pack Leader. Lilly arrived back home with the former Southern Pack and they joined as one pack.

The Sawtooth Pack held a funeral for all the wolves who gave their lives in the somewhat recent battle. The dead were buried in Jasper, because that was the birthplace of most of them. At the funeral, a stone was placed in a field and the names of the dead were etched into it. Vincent, Rick, Logan, Ashley, and many more, Humphrey also etched in Carol, Adam, Angel, and Luna, as part of their legacy. Winston's name was also put on the rock, because the wolf who clawed him during the battle had hit a major artery, not enough to kill him immediately after, but enough to ensure his death.

Lilly and Garth eventually had pups of their own, two daughters named Ruby and Angel. Angel was named after Lilly's real mother and had Lilly's white fur and Garth's green eyes. Ruby had Garth's red fur and also had white fur on her underbelly, she also had Lilly's lavender eyes.

A/N: This is technically the end of the story, but I have written another chapter where Lilly explains her tactics, but it's not super important to the story really, so I'll only post it if you really want to know or if you have many questions about it.
