Penny sat next to Chris in the living room as they watched Cream and Cheese dance to their favorite mascot on the TV. "Dancing is lots of fun, and it's good to exercise, too! Hey, I've got an idea. How about you dance with me?"

Penny giggled, pulling her legs to her chest as she watched her little sister figure and her pet chao dance to the tv mascot.

The door opened, and Ella walked in, holding a pie in her hands. "Hi! Snack time, everybody!" She walked over and placed the pie on the table, and an extra plate with a slice of pumpkin in front of Penny. "I remembered to make you some pumpkin pie, sweetie."

"PIE!" Penny grinned, taking the offered plate. "Thank you, Ella!"

Ella smiled.

Amy walked up and placed a pie of her own next to Ella's, smiling proudly. "Ella showed me how to make home made apple pie."

Ella smiled proudly at the pink hedgehog. "I think our little Amy has quite the knack for baking. I just might be out of a job soon."

Amy grinned up at the maid. "Hey, Ella, maybe Sonic would like some pie. He can have the other one." She turned to Tails and glared when she noticed him reaching hungrily for her pie. "No you don't, that pie's for Sonic!" She snapped, pulling the pie away from him. Unfortunately Tails was already clinging to the pie when that happened and he was flung straight into the TV, breaking it.

Cream whimpered. "Tails, you broke our TV!"

Tails winced. "Sorry..."

"And that was our favorite program!" Cream continued, sounding like she was about to cry.

"Oh, Cream, please don't cry!" Penny said, hopping off the couch and pulling Cream into a hug. "Chris can fix it. Right, Chris?"

The human boy nodded, picking up the remote. "Yeah! Don't worry, Cream. Maybe this will help." He pressed a button, hoping that a single press will fix it.

Nothing.

Chris winced, glancing at the remote curiously. "Okay, guess that didn't work..."

Cream and Cheese clung to Penny, sobbing. "Now we c-can't w-watch our p-p-program!"

"What's going on?"

At Sonic's voice, Penny glanced over Cream's head and turned to Sonic. "Nothing much. They're upset about the TV being broken."

Sonic walked up to Penny. "That's what they're crying about?"

"What do we do?" Amy asked. "Now I can't watch my cooking show!"

"Or Mrs. Thorndyke's movie of the week." Ella sighed.

"Or Your Lie in April." Penny sighed dramatically. "Or the Promised Neverland. Or Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. Or-"

"Or the martial arts matinee."

Penny jumped at the sudden interruption and turned to see Mr. Tanaka staring darkly at the TV. Chris chuckled apologetically. "Sorry, Mr. Tanaka."

The sound of laughter suddenly filled the air, and Penny and Sonic looked up to see Bokkun, one of Eggman's robots, fly towards them. Amy and Ella quickly removed their pies as the little robot landed on the table. Sonic, Chris, and Penny all panicked and hid behind the sofa.

Bokkun glared at them, opening up his backpack. "That was a disappointing welcome if you don't mind me saying so." He grunted as he pulled out his message TV. "Got a brand new message for Sonic from Dr. Eggman. So listen up good!"

He pressed a button, and Eggman's face appeared on the screen. "Greetings, my little warthog. Sorry it's been so long since my last message, but I've been such a busy little bee! Take a look."

The screen suddenly switched to a strange looking robot up in outer space sucking up a satellite.

Chris's eyes widened. "That thing's swallowing up a satellite!"

Mr. Tanaka frowned seriously. "And it's ruined our television reception!"

"Don't get any ideas, Sonic." Eggman snickered at the group. "After all, I'm only having a little fun! So stay out of it if you know what's good for you! As we speak, my E-90 is floating above the stratosphere, collecting all manner of space junk so that I can make more of my ever so helpful mechanical friends! Well, what do you say to that?" He let out a bark of laughter. "Pretty soon you might be obsolete, Bokkun."

At that comment, Bokkun whimpered, sobbing right then and there.

"Oh, shut up..." Penny hissed, and immediately wished she didn't say that because he cried even louder.

"What's E-90?" Chris asked Tails. The fox shrugged. "I don't know, Chris, but I bet it's one of Dr. Eggman's robots." He put his hands to his hips and looked up. "I wonder what a stratosphere is."

Chuck slammed open the door, surprising everyone. "A layer miles above us. It's as high as the sky!" Chuck walked over to the crying robot and picked him up. "We can do without you, crybaby."

"No, put me down!"

Chris, Penny, and Sonic winced as Bokkun set a bomb trap on Chuck, and Chuck staggered back in the room, coughing up smoke.

"Looks like that robot is da bomb." Chris snickered awkwardly.

Chuck grumbled at him. "Very funny, Chris, but this is serious. Eggman is causing havoc miles above anyone's reach."

"I bet the Tornado can get up there." Chris said.

Tails frowned.

"Come on, Tails." Sonic said encouragingly, shooting the fox a thumbs. "Why not? I'm game!"

They ran out.

Sonic and Tails both staggered into Chuck's garage, banged up.

"What happened?!" Penny gasped, running over to the two. "You look awful!"

"Just a normal Eggman ambush." The hedgehog said, gently brushing her off. "I'm fine. I've got to think."

He walked out.

Penny glanced at Sonic worriedly, and turned to Tails. "What happened out there?"

"Well..." Tails winced. He told the story of the fight they had up in the air with Eggman's Satellite.

Chuck frowned, putting his hands to his hips. "It appears our foe is more powerful than we thought."

Tails winced, his hand moving up to his plane.

"Hey, Tails."

Penny, Tails, and Chuck turned to see Sonic walking towards them. "The problem is the Tornado's too slow. So, what you want to do is soup this birdy up a bit."

Chuck and Penny hummed in agreement.

"I could try..." Tails frowned.

"Really?" Penny asked.

Tails turned to the hedgehog. "Maybe I could use the Chaos Emeralds. But there could be a problem...it's all of that energy. The Chaos Emeralds' got huge amount of energy. It would only take a tiny bit to run the Tornado, so all that extra energy wouldn't have anywhere to go. And that could be a big problem."

"What now?" Penny asked, turning to Chuck.

Chuck frowned. "We need to find a way to turn off the Emerald's access energy."

"I wouldn't wanna just waste it." Tails pointed out.

"Do you have any better ideas?"

"We could install a background engine..." Tails hummed thoughtfully, putting a hand to the plane. "That way, with two engines instead of one, the energy would have another outlet."

"Do you really think two engines could contain all of that power?" Chuck frowned.

"If we wanna beat Dr. Eggman, it's still worth giving it a try."

"In order to install that backup, we'll have to rebuild the plane." Chuck pointed out. "Are you sure you have all the know-how to do all of that, Tails?"

"Well, I've never done anything like this before..." Tails winced nervously. "But I'll give it a shot."

Sonic smiled at the fox. "You can do it, Tails. I know it!"

Chuck smiled at the fox. "Come with me, Tails. I've got something that might interest you." He shot the fox a wink, and earned a curious look from the kitsune. Chuck chuckled and walked up to Tails and began leading him out of the room. "In fact, I'm certain it will."

Penny chuckled as she watched Chuck lead off a confused fox, and she turned to Sonic. "Welp, Sonic, I guess I should turn in for the night."

Sonic smiled at her. "Go right ahead. Goodnight."

"Thanks!" Penny grinned, and she took off. "Good night!"

She ran over to the door and waited until it looked like Sonic had walked off, and the hedgehog ran up to Tails, patting him on the shoulder.

"Hm?" The kitsune glanced at Penny curiously. "What's up?"

"I have a suggestion." Penny grinned at him.

The next morning, Penny woke up to the sound of the TV sound finally turning on. "Good morning, It's time for the one and only "Dr. Eggman Show!" This program is brought to you live villa satellite from a beautiful island from a beautiful island in the Southern Sea."

"He's scary..." Cream whimpered.

Penny frowned, glancing at the TV. "What's he up to now..."

Eggman snickered in delight as he continued. "Today's show is bought to you by the amazing Super Sweeper, for a cleaner, safer atmosphere."

Music played, and Eggman started singing and dancing. "Who's the most brilliant scientist in the universe? Why, it's Dr. Eggman!"

"Hey, Sonic!"

At the sound of Tails' voice, the blue hedgehog hopped down and walked up to the fox with a grin. "Hey, Tails. Did you finish?"

Tails shot Sonic a thumbs up. "Yeah, we sure did! Come on, I'll show you!"

Tails led Sonic to the garage, and soon everyone joined to see the new Tornado. Chuck opened the garage door, an a platform popped up to reveal the new, amazing Tornado.

Tails grinned. "Presenting: Tornado X!"

Sonic grinned at Tails. "Let's show off, Tails."

Penny took a deep breath and walked up. "Sonic? I wanna ask you something..."

"What's up?" Sonic asked, glancing down at her with a smile.

"I was actually hoping if I could join you guys."

Sonic glanced down at Penny seriously. "Penny, I'm sorry, but I've got to say no to this one."

"Why not?!"

"Well, for starters, you know the plane's only a two seater!"

Penny looked up at Sonic, looking hurt. "But I thought..."

"Guess I forgot to tell you."

Penny and Sonic turned to Tails. The fox looked sheepish as they continued. "I made a couple of more changes." He pressed a button and another set of seats popped up. Tails grinned. "Penny came up to me asking for extra seats so she could join."

"I hope you don't mind, Sonic." Penny added.

Sonic frowned, crossing his arms.

Penny winced as Sonic frowned deeply at her, his arms crossed as he considered this. After a moment, he smiled at her. "Just so long as you don't get in the way, okay?" He asked, putting two hands on her shoulders. "I do NOT want you getting hurt."

"Promise!" Penny said happily, saluting him.

Pretty soon, Penny sat behind Sonic in the seat of the new Tornado, and Tails slowly took off. "Tornado X ready for takeoff!" He announced.

The palm trees parted, and Chuck grinned excitedly. "I can't wait! I'm so excited I could fly!"

"Tornado X Blast Off!" Tails announced. "Okay, get ready! We're about to enter X-Hyperspeed Mode!"

"Wait, what?!" Penny let out a yelp of fright as the Tornado X shot into the air at top speed, and she dizzily hugged Sonic's backseat.

"You okay?" Sonic asked, noticing Penny's tension.

"I'm fine..." Penny whimpered.

The sound of missiles caught the girl's attention, and soon she felt wind on her face. She opened her eyes to see Sonic standing on his seat. She couldn't see his face but she knew he had a determined expression when he said, "Let's do it!"

The girl watched as Sonic hopped off the plane and dove towards the missiles. He hopped on each and every one of them until he made it to Super Sweeper.

Sonic grinned as he landed, but quickly leaped off again when it launched more missiles. Tails quickly drove the plane towards him, yelling, "Don't worry, Sonic, I've got your back!" and firing his own set of missiles, destroying Super Sweeper's.

Sonic grinned, shooting the fox a thumbs up. "Thanks, pal!"

Penny let out a yelp as Super Sweeper then launched lasers at the Tornado X, and Penny clung to her seat as Tails dodged the missiles. She heard his frustrated grunt. "I can't get any closer!"

Sonic quickly dodged over to the laser can and smashed it to bits. He let out a yell as he landed on the Tornado X. The door opened, and the hedgehog climbed back into his seat. He glanced at Penny, who was shakily clinging to his chair. "Now I wish I stayed behind..." He heard her whimper.

Sonic smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Relax. We'll be fine. I'll take care of that thing and we'll get ya to the ground."

She glanced up at him, smiling softly.

The blue hedgehog climbed out of his seat once again and almost lost his grip on Super Sweeper, but managed to hang on.

"Tails, do something!" Penny cried as she watched Super Sweeper raise his vacuum.

Tails nodded. "Here we go. Booster switch on! Sonic, watch out!" The fox quickly zoomed his plane over, shooting the Tornado X's own set of missiles at the robot. The Super Sweeper quickly flew off, but Tails grinned. "Just try and get away!"

The clever fox moved his plane up to Sonic, who let go and clung to the wings of the Tornado X. Penny glanced back, gulping when she saw him shivering.

"Penny, what's going on with Sonic?" Tails asked.

Penny grabbed her radio. "Sonic looks like he's shivering..." She answered, sweat-dropping.

"That's 'cause we're close to the Stratosphere." Tails answered. "It's 50-Below up here, but Sonic can take it."

They were wrong.

Penny's eyes widened as ice started covering the Tornado X. "Tails, what's happening?!"

"Everything's a okay!" Tails said, trying to reassure his close friend. The female hedgehog glanced back and her eyes widened to see that Sonic was completely frozen. "Tails, Sonic's frozen!"

"What?!" Tails yelped as he tried dodging missiles.

"This doesn't look good..." Penny began looking around the ship for ideas, and her eyes fell on the ring cockpit. "Hey, what if we shot him a ring?"

Tails shook his head. "No good! I can't open the cockpit!"

The girl looked back at the missiles and panicked. "We've got to do something or we're going to be scrambled eggs!"

"Don't even joke about that..." Tails grumbled, not looking from his work.

Penny glared at Tails. "I WASN'T joking and this ISN'T related to you-know-who."

Tails' eyes widened. "That's it!" He exclaimed, remembering something Chuck said when they were planning on rebuilding the Tornado. "I've got an idea." He pressed a few buttons and a ring popped out in front of Penny. The female hedgehog grasped it tenderly in her hands as Tails spoke to her. "Listen carefully, Penny, take the ring and connect it to the yellow cable underneath the seat."

Penny raised her brows. "How's that gonna help save our hides?"

Tails glared at her. "This isn't the time for questions!"

"Sorry..." Penny squeaked. She got to her knees and shakily reached for the yellow plug. She let out a yelp as the ship turned a little, causing her to lose grip on the plug. She grunted as she grabbed the ring and secured it to the plug. It glowed in response, and her eyes widened in surprise that it was actually working. The ice quickly melted away, and Sonic stood strong, a powerful blue aurora floating around him. Sonic broke free from the rest of the ice and grinned. "Watch out, Eggman, I'm all warmed up. Let's go get them, guys!"

"Yeah!" Tails cheered.

Sonic leaped off the plane and began destroying each of the missiles. He landed directly in Super Sweeper's mouth and destroyed it from the inside. He managed to escape the explosion as the robot exploded in a huge blast of light. Tails managed to fly towards Sonic, and he, Penny, and Sonic exchanged thumbs up.

At home, Sonic sighed as he relaxed his feet in a nice tub of hot water.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Penny asked, handing the hedgehog a blue blanket.

"Sure I'm fine." The hedgehog told her, accepting the blanket. "I'm already better, you don't have to keep worrying about me."

"Sorry," Penny giggled, sitting beside him. "Habit."

Sonic chuckled, wrapping an arm around her while adjusting the blanket around his shoulders.

"Sonic, I made my caliente chili for you." Ella smiled happily, walking in with a bowl of soup and setting it right beside Sonic. "This will make your tummy nice and warm."

Chuck grinned at Eggman. "You sure taught Eggman a lesson."

"It wasn't me, Chuck." Sonic grinned, smiling at Penny. "I just helped out this time. Penny and Tails are the ones that did it. They're the real heroes."

"Did you hear that, Tails?" Penny grinned, hopping off the couch to high five the fox.

"Yeah!" Tails grinned happily, returning the high five.

"Let's celebrate!"

Everyone turned to Amy, who stood by the door holding a tray of ice cream. "I made this ice cream myself, for the coolest guy around!"

Sonic winced in embarrassment, and glanced at Penny. She giggled, shooting him a thumbs up.

Sonic shrugged, though he still looked uneasy. "Wow. Cool!"
