Chapter 9
And so, my Enchantment acquisition rampage continues with the Ebonwood Enchantment. After packing up once more, I walk to and enter the Corruption for the second time, in search of some Ebonwood.
It was pretty easy, and before long, I had acquired everything but the "Lightless Chasms" painting.
Finally, after getting Lucas to move in to a corrupted house (It was impossible; I had to somehow circumvent Re-Logic's housing rules), which took two hours, I bought the painting I needed, returned home, crafted the Ebonwood Enchantment, and then casted it into the void known as the "Enchantments" chest, mostly because I just didn't need the Shadowflame aura just yet.
Next up was the Fossil Enchantment, which required me to venture into the Desert once more in search of Desert Fossils and an Extractinator.
Of course, it wasn't going to be as easy as in the previous few chapters. My lucky streak had run out, which meant it was time for me to start describing my future misadventures and unlucky streaks in detail.
Anyway, once I arrived in the Desert once more, I was immediately swarmed on by a group of Antlion Chargers. (Jokes on you, Noxus, because I needed it for the Mandible Blade) Only at killing the very last Charger, which took 15 minutes to get to (Worldgen can get super drunk sometimes), did I finally get the Mandible Blade.
After that little roadblock, mining Desert Fossils was actually pretty easy. An Extractinator was nearby, which I then mined out. I Recalled back home after mining all of the Fossils I needed, placed down the Extractinator, Extractinated all of the Fossils (Only got about 50 Sturdy Fossils out of half a stack, which was already pretty unlucky), and crafted a set of Fossil Armor. I also received an Amber Mosquito, which was a nice bonus.
Finally, I went back underground and mined some Amber. It was easy work, but that probably was due to me being vastly overpowered compared to the average pre-Hardmode Underground enemy.
Finally, for real, I Recall back home, craft the Amber Staff, and then craft the Fossil Enchantment.
Guess what I did? I casted it into the Abyss.
Next up was the Gladiator Enchantment, which I thought was the funniest one, since it required an item literally worshipped by the Terraria community as useless: an Angel Statue.
With that tangential talk out of the way, I ventured out into the Marble Caves once more.
Right when I stepped in, I was immediately swarmed on once more by a large group of Hoplites. (What business did the Greeks have here, I don't know) I eliminated them pretty easily, but then after that, all I got was 300 Javelins and Bone Javelins in my inventory. Not what I wanted, but it's still part of the recipe, so it's still considered a pass in my book.
Once more, I downed the fifth Potion of Return in this adventure, to claim the useless Angel Statue from my storage, and buy yet another stack of Dynamite from Norsun.
After stepping through the portal for the tenth time, I created a proper farming area, and farmed for long enough that my Wulfrum Controller, who was still following me all this time, decided that it was its turn to swing the Biome Blade for now. I gave my thanks, and fell to sleep...
You thought the whole adventure would end here, that I would simply wake up and go to school like nothing happened? NO! This is modded Terraria, I can't return until after I have killed the Void Wyvern, and I still have a bunch of Enchantments, Forces, Essences, and Souls to collect before even daring to defeat anything after Supreme Calamitas.
Anyway, right when I woke up, I saw my Controller kill three Hoplites at the exact same tick! It seemed that Xeroc had broke out of Noxus' control once more, because when I looked beside, there was my jackpot: a full set of Gladiator Armor right next to me.
Overjoyed, I down a Gravitation Potion, walk across the Skybridge yet again, touch down at my fishing spot (which was at the Aquatic Depths (Thorium) side of the world), and get some Iron Crates. Eventually, I get three crates, and then I open them up. Of course, since my lucky streak with Xeroc was flaring up once more, I receive some Tartar Sauce at the first try.
I then Gravitated back to my Crimson crafting station, crafted the Gladiator Enchantment, and equipped it.
