Charlie waved goodbye to her sisters, telling them she would see them when they got back and that they would put the three pieces together. Making the loom whole again. She watched her sisters transport out, heading to Earth-86.
What Charlie's sisters were about to learn was that Earth-86 was orbiting a black hole. It was about to be sucked up, and time was collapsing on itself. Distorting. They would be dead soon.
With two out of the three loom pieces in her hand, Charlie headed to the real location where she had hidden the third loom piece. She needed to make sure that the loom was gone for good this time. She needed to destroy it.
That night on the waverider, Sara was in her room when she heard a knock at her door. She stood up and opened the door. It was David Koresh. She still wasn't used to this, but she allowed him into her room anyway.
"How can I help you, David?"
David stepped into the room, "I already thanked Nate and Mick for bringing my daughter Serenity home. And since I might not get to thank Charlie, I just wanted to thank you. You have a great team working for you. You're a great captain. Thank you for doing this for us. For finding us a new home."
Sara gave a nod, "Of course. You're welcome."
"God will bless you richly in this life and the eternal life that comes after."
Sara smiled, "Thank you."
"Good night, Sara."
"Good night, David."
Helping people always felt good, even when it was wrong.
Meanwhile Nate got a message from Cisco. He had found a suitable Earth for the Branch Davidians. Earth-38. There were no Branch Davidians on that Earth and the Waco siege had never happened. It was the perfect fit.
After telling Sara to get the people ready, Nate called Cisco back and told him that it was okay for him to breach in. A few moments later, a blue, watery looking breach opened up in Nate's room and Cisco came out.
"I'll never get used to seeing that." Nate uttered as he stood up and hugged Cisco, "Thank you so much for doing this, Cisco."
"Uh...you're welcome." Cisco replied, patting Nate's shoulder blades. He was clearly uncomfortable being hugged.
In the bridge, Sara was telling the people of Mount Carmel that a friend of hers found them a new home. She explained to them that it was a different Earth. She didn't have too much time to explain though, because Nate and Cisco had walked into the room.
Cisco waved at everyone, "Hey. I'm Cisco. I'm the one that's going to send you to your new home."
Taking a breath, Cisco put on his vibe glasses and opened a breach to Earth-38.
As the breach was opening, Charlie came strutting in from the direction of the cargo bay.
Hearing the footsteps, everyone - except Cisco, who was concentrated on his breach - looked over to see who was coming in.
Serenity smiled, "Charlie!" She ran over to hug the woman.
Charlie picked up Serenity, hugging her, tightly.
"I knew you were coming back." Serenity said, with her arms wrapped around Charlie and her head buried in Charlie's neck.
Charlie felt someone hug her from behind, and heard a voice say, "Thank you. For sending my daughter home to me." It was Michele.
"Of course." Charlie replied, "I promised." Charlie put Serenity down and then walked over to Sara, smiling, "Well, Captain, did you get my message?"
"Come here." Sara said, pulling Charlie in and wrapping her arms around her, hugging her tightly, "I missed you."
Charlie laughed as she hugged Sara back, "I wasn't gone that long, Mum." She joked, bringing back the 'mum' thing from her first mission with the team.
Sara laughed with Charlie, pulling out of the hug and looking Charlie in the eyes, "Um...hello. Time mom, remember?"
Cisco cleared his throat, "Um...this breach isn't gonna stay open forever."
Sara nodded as she walked over to David Koresh. She couldn't believe what she was about to say. Or the fact that he and the Branch Davidians had spent the last week on her ship. She might not have been happy with Martin, Charlie and Nate saving the people at first, but she had come to realise they were a good bunch of people. She would miss them.
"I don't know whether to shake your hand or hug you." Sara told David
David pulled Sara in and hugged her, "Don't be a stranger now. You can visit us any time you like. In fact, you should come for a visit in a few weeks when Aisha has her baby."
Aisha was the mother of eighteen month old Startle, and she was eight months pregnant. She was due in about three weeks. And they had found out, because of Gideon, that Aisha's baby was a girl.
"Of course." She replied, handing him a phone, "If you ever need anything, just give me or one of my team members a call. Our numbers are already in the phone, which is equipped with interdimensional roaming."
David smiled, "Thank you. For everything, Sara."
The Branch Davidians were going in through the breach to Earth-38, two at a time. Almost everyone had gone through, except David, Michele and Serenity were straggling behind.
"Well I think it's time for this bird to leave the nest." Charlie spoke up, causing Sara and Nate to turn to her.
"I thought you were safe from your sisters now." Nate uttered
Charlie nodded, "I am, but…" She trailed off and Serenity ran back over to her, standing in front of her, "I kind of want to go with these people. You know, keep an eye on them. Make sure the timeline is okay. Plus I think Earth thirty-eight could use a legend."
Sara took a breath, "Okay." She was trying not to cry, "You'll always have a home here. And if you ever need anything, and I mean anything, just give us a call. We'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too. I love you guys."
"We love you too, Charlie." Nate added
Serenity was looking up at Charlie, "You're coming with us?"
"Yeah. I am, Serenity." She replied, "Now come on, let's go before the breach closes."
Charlie walked through the breach with Serenity. The two of them holding hands. David and Michele walked in behind them with David being the last one to go through.
"Do you think Charlie will be okay?" Nate asked Sara
"I think that after the stunt you two pulled a week ago, she will be needing us very soon."
Nate scoffed, "Are you ever gonna forgive us for this?"
"Oh I've already forgiven you." Sara told him, "But forgiving and forgetting are two entirely different things."
Nate just laughed as he shook his head.
