WARNING: This chapter has graphic descriptions of torture and violence
Alto ran through the forest, the last thing on his mind was his sister's voice. He got to the camp, and saw everyone just milling around
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked.
"..What can we do? Historia and Mina were kidnapped." Marco asked, "Eren went off to get them. Jean went with him, the enemy has guns and gear, we don't."
"And you're just going to let them go on their own!?" Alto asked, even more rage filled. "What kind of soldiers are you?! Real soldiers don't curl up and cry! They scream! They fight! They charge! No matter what! No matter how bad the odds are!" Alto roared at all of them.
They screamed, and began running after and soon caught up with Jean and Eren.
"You guys?" Eren seemed surprised.
"Alto got us off our asses and into the fire." Marco said.
"Alright, so how are we going to track them?" Jean asked,
"We could split up, but there's a limit to how much ground we could cover." Armin said,
"And makes us vulnerable to an already tricky problem." Alto said, "Our numbers."
"Alto!" Astell spoke in his head "Are you okay?"
"So what do you suggest? We duplicate ourselves somehow?" Jean said sarcastically.
"No... we have flares. We can use them to signal for help from Mikasa's group." Alto said thoughtfully.
"I'm fine now. Why?" Alto asked.
"Gertrude told me you succumbed to Fire Rage."
"Fire rage?" Alto said curiously
"It's... complicated." Astell said,
"Okay, one problem solved, back to the first. How do we track them?"
"Simple! We climb the mountain!" Sasha said, "'If you're lost on a mountain, climb the mountain! If you're lost in the forest, climb a tall tree!' That's what my da used to say!"
They climbed up a nearby cliff, and soon spotted a smoke trail from a campfire. "Nice!" They got closer, and they observed the thieves through a telescope.
"What should we do?" Eren asked,
"We could rush them." Jean said
"They've got guns, they'll just blast us apart." said Marco
"Wait. They have to sell their stuff right? The only place they can do that quickly is Odel." Alto mentioned "We can ambush them along the trail with flares."
"Okay, how do you suggest we go about that?" asked Jean.
Alto fell silent, then Armin took over, "No he has a good point. If we can head them off, at the other edge of the forest there are two roads, one will lead straight to Odel, and we'll have no chance catching up. So we'll block that one off."
"And how'll we know which wagon has our gear?" Connie asked,
"By sound. One wagon will shake more due to the extra weight. If the ODM is in the front, we'll ring the bell once, back, two rings. If it's split among both, three rings."
Later on
Marco pressed his ear against the side of the road. Out of sight of any passerby. He closed his eyes listening as the wagons got closer.
One of them hit a rock, causing the ODM to jingle.
'Second wagon!' He yanked on the string twice. "
As the wagon train passed, Eren, Alto, and Jean jumped and ripped through the canvas of the second wagon. Alto grabbed the driver, and threw him out. And looked up, making eye contact with one of the bandits
"That's enough Kenny!" Rod Reiss said
The Anti-Personnel squad dropped to the ground, among them was a bandit with black hair, and brown eyes.
"You." He pointed at the bandit. Who cowered in the front wagon, "You were there."
The bandit began to panic. "We need to go faster!" He screamed "He's gonna kill us all!"
"Not if I have any say on it!" Another bandit grabbed his rifle, and fired, but the wagon shook and the bullet richoeted harmlessly off the ground.
Alto grabbed his flare gun, and fired a shot, causing smoke to fill the other wagon. However, the second bandit fired his rifle, and this time, it hit the wheel of the wagon Alto was on. The wagon spiraled out of control as the horse broke loose, and the wagon slammed into a tree.
Alto wasted no time. Quickly donning his ODM, he grabbed the horse and rode after the first wagon.
"Christopher wait!" Eren and Jean donned their ODM gear and followed him.
"Come on! Mina and Historia are still in the other wagon
With the Bandits.
"What the hell Jack?!" The bandit with the rifle roared. "What do you mean 'he's gonna kill us all?!"
"Y-you don't understand. That kid is a monster Ludwig!" He babbled, before spouting nonsense about 'transformation' and 'Titans'
"Whatever! Jack lost it!" Ludwig turned his gun on Mina and Historia.
"Don't shoot you idiot! Those two are gonna make us some money!" said their leader.
"Heh." Ludwig lowered his gun, "Enjoy spending the rest of your lives in a brotherel in the underground."
"Hey Boss..." Another bandit called to him, "We got company." He pointed at Alto on a horse.
"Oh god! We're doomed! He's gonna transform into a Titan and thats it!" Jack babbled
"Shut yer trap!" shouted the leader, "Shot the kid and be done with it!"
Ludwig took aim, but Mina tackled him.
"Stupid girl!" Ludwig butted her with his rifle, and that move probably saved him a few more seconds as a grapple hook passed right by his head. Alto soared, slashing Ludwig's neck before he could react. Jack whimpered in fear.
"Get im Hans!" shouted the boss. Hans tried to shoot Alto as Alto swung back around. Alto deflected the bullet with his blade, then released a burst of gas, slashing Hans through the neck. He landed on the wagon, as Hans gurgled. Picking him up, Alto punched him in the face, before throwing him out the wagon, the impact surely killing him.
'So... hot!' Was his last thought as Alto brutally finished him off.
"Stupid kid!" the boss turned his gun and fired on Alto at point blank range.
Time seemed to slow. "Christopher!" Mina screamed. He staggered back, looked up. And grabbed the boss before plunging his blade straight through his chest.
"I.. shot you! I... know I did!" He gurgled. Alto tossed him out the wagon, and forced it to a stop. Jack tried to run out, but Alto grabbed him.
"We're going to have a talk." Alto hissed. Jean and Eren landed beside the wagon, soon accompanied by everyone else.
"Christopher. What are you doing?" Armin asked as he dragged Jack to the forest.
"I'll follow him!" Historia ran into the forest after him
"Help me!" the man screamed. "You're all in danger! You don't understand! He's one of them! Help! He'll eat me! Then all of you!" Jack babbled.
Alto ignored his pleas and continued dragging him to the forest, then threw him against a tree. Drawing a blade, he plunged it into Jack's shoulder, eliciting a scream. Mangled veins began to spurt up like pus.
"Start talking. A man named Kenny was leading you."
"K-Kenny Ackerman! H-he was the Captain of a squad in the Interior Police before that he was the best gun-for-hire in the Underground! Thats all I know man! M-me and a few others were hired to act as back up if things went south!"
"Hired by who? And why?" Alto twisted the blade, getting another scream. Shards of bone joined the steady flow of blood.
"R-Rod Reiss! All he told us was a nobleman was getting whacked, I thought 'Hey probably some politics right? Some fat asshole pissed off the wrong people.' The job paid really well so I took it! P-please spare me!"
"Alright. I'll spare you." He sheathed his blade.
"Oh thank you!" Jack began to get up
"I'll spare you from life!" He slashed down, and began hacking furiously. Blood sprayed everywhere, dying trees and Alto's uniform. His intestines were scattered across the trees, his stomach was ripped open, letting the foul stench leak out. His kidney was sliced open. "Die! You piece of human filth!" Alto screamed. His arms were brutally hacked off. Jack screamed all the while, slowly dying under the pain of a thousand cuts. Alto sliced his head off, and began breathing heavily.
"Holy shit." William said.
"I don't want to be fucking judged right now." Alto blocked his mind.
"Alto." Historia looked at him, then her eyes slowly turned to the carnage Alto had created.
"What have you done?" She looked as if she was going to puke.
Alto said nothing, but left her, Historia followed behind him, "You didn't just kill him! You tortured him! You massacred him! How are you any better than him?!" Historia yelled at him.
Alto looked at her, and said one thing. "I'm not."
A/N: So... kind of a dark chapter this one is. But I feel like I needed to show that Alto isn't just some moral 'Oh I fOrgiVe YoU' Gary Stu, but a person who is just as likely to succumb to rage and his inner desire as anyone else.
