Alfred took Beverly out to dinner one night when her hip wasn't bothering her. He took her to a romantic restaurant and then for a walk on the beach.

"Thank you for tonight," Beverly said.

"You're welcome," Alfred smiled as he held her close. "You know I should be thanking you."

"For what?"

"For lighting up my life again. I hadn't expected to fall in love with you a second time. Maybe I never stopped loving you. Standing here, I still see the lively, strawberry blonde girl who stole my heart all those years ago. Will you marry me?"

Beverly looked at Alfred in shock, "you want to get remarried?"

"More than anything."

Beverly's eyes started to water, "yes," she whispered as she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him.

"I believe there is one thing missing," Alfred took out a black velvet box and gave his fiance a white gold ring with a five-carat cushion purple tanzanite center stone and two blue topaz three-carat stones on either side.

"Alfred," Beverly gasped, "it's beautiful," she said as he placed the ring on her finger. The two rushed home to share the news with Leonard and Penny who revealed they were expecting again. It was a very happy day for the Hofstadter family.

Penny, Amy, and Bernadette took Beverly shopping for a wedding dress.

"Girls, I appreciate you taking me shopping, but it's a little bit ridiculous for me to be in a bridal shop looking for a wedding dress."

"Come on it'll be fun," Penny said.

"I don't even know what I would want."

"That's why we're here," Bernadette said.

"We're going to each look for some dresses that we feel you will look good in," Amy added.

Beverly tried on several dresses but never walked out to show the girls. When she did walk out it was in her own clothes, "let's get out of here."

"Whoa, Beverly wait," Penny didn't have to stop her because Beverly's hip did. The girls helped the woman to sit. "What's going on?"

Beverly sighed, "I don't belong here trying on wedding dresses. I tried on a few, but every time I looked in the mirror I only saw an old lady who was kidding herself."

The girls felt bad for the woman, "look, you don't have to get an actual wedding dress," Penny said. "Now let me tell you what I see when I look at you. I see a beautiful, smart, and wonderful person who appears to be aging backward."

"It's true," Bernadette said, "you don't look your age at all."

"You really are incredibly attractive," Amy added.

Beverly had tears in her eyes, "thanks girls, that means a lot. Unfortunately, I don't think I can try anything else on, today."

"There's this one dress that you have to try on and I'll help you," Penny told her mother-in-law.

"The one we all thought was the best one but decided we wanted her to try on more and have fun with it, only making her sad," Amy said.

"Thanks for the recap Amy," Bernadette said sarcastically.

Penny helped her mother-in-law up and into the dressing room. It took a bit more work than either had thought, but they managed to get Beverly into the dress. "You can't look in the mirror yet," Penny said. She took Beverly's arm and helped her out of the dressing room.

"Wow!" Amy and Bernadette said.

"I know, right," Penny smiled, "Beverly close your eyes. We'll turn you towards the mirror."

Beverly did and when Penny told her to, she opened her eyes and gasped. She had on a pale rose-colored, mermaid, lace, bell sleeved, dress.

"Do you love it?" Penny asked and Beverly nodded. "That's all I need to know." Penny helped Beverly out of the dress and handed it to Bernadette. Bernadette and Amy took the dress to check out while Penny helped Beverly get dressed. When Beverly stood, her hip spazzed. Penny wrapped her arms around her mother-in-law and held onto her tightly. "Are you alright?" Penny asked once the hip had stopped spazzing.

"I'm really sore and tired."

Penny took Beverly to the car where Bernadette and Amy were already waiting with the dress. "Is she alright?" Amy asked when the two girls saw the bad shape Beverly was in.

"Her hip spazzed and I think it wore her out," Penny answered.

"How did you get the dress out here? I never paid," Beverly said sleepily.

"That's because it was our treat," Bernadette said.

"What?"

"Bev, the three of us each chipped in and bought your wedding dress for you," Penny added.

"That's so sweet. Thank you," Beverly said as she fell asleep.

Since Penny was driving, she had Amy call Leonard to tell him that his mother would need her wheelchair and explained why. Alfred was waiting in the driveway with his fiance's wheelchair. He gently opened the passenger door so as not to startle Beverly. "Honey," he said softly, "you're home. It's time to wake up."

Beverly's eyes fluttered open, "Alfred," she whispered.

"Hey, I heard what happened. I'm going to help you in to your chair." Alfred was sweet and gentle making all three girls a bit jealous. Bernadette and Amy said good-bye to Beverly before leaving. "Do you want to lie down in bed?" he asked when he wheeled her into their suite.

"Please," Beverly answered. Alfred was able to help his fiance change and get into bed before giving her some pain relievers.

Beverly woke up from her nap in a great deal of pain. She sent Alfred a text about how much pain she was in and asked for more pain pills. Alfred saw the misery on Beverly's face when he walked in. "Do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

"I don't know," she answered, "will you get my cane for me, please?"

Alfred retrieved the cane and sat in against her nightstand, "don't use this unless you are sure you won't fall."

"I have to go to the bathroom," Beverly told him. Alfred helped her out of bed and over to the bathroom. The woman could hardly walk. When she was done, Alfred decided he was taking her to the hospital. He got the woman's wheelchair and left. At the hospital, Beverly was told that she absolutely needed her left hip replaced and that it had to be done right then. Alfred had sent Leonard and Penny a text about the surgery and told them to not worry about coming down at that point. Once the surgery was over, Alfred went to Beverly's room to sit with her. She slept on and off the first two days after surgery. She stayed in the hospital for a week before being discharged. Alfred pulled the car into the driveway and put it in park.

"Honey, do you want your wheelchair or your walker?"

"The wheelchair," she answered. Alfred helped her settle into the chair and took her inside before going back to get her walker and bag. "Can you help me get into bed? I really need to stretch my leg out."

"Of course," once Beverly was settled Alfred left her to rest.
