A satisfied sigh escaping Viktor's throat was the first article I registered; then excruciating pain.

The immediate sharp, needle-like sting was quickly followed by a blinding, burning sensation. It started from the bite wound and began to flow down my neck, into my chest, and upwards into my head at the same time.

The pain of his poison seeping into my chest cavity was drowned out by the splitting agony radiating throughout my head; into my brain. My eyes burned in their sockets, my sinuses stung, my mouth contorted into an agonised scream but barely any sound escaped my lips.

Flash after flash of memories and emotions flitted through my brain; too quick for me to grasp any of it. I could hear my heart beating furiously in my ears as the blood rushed around my poisoned veins; my brain acidic. I could faintly discern Viktor swallowing it all.

I knew I was screaming and I didn't know if any sound was actually emitting from that scream.

My mouth was dry; my teeth ached to the roots. I balled my hands into fists as I felt myself writhing on the cold floor. I grasped a handful of Viktor's robe between my fingers as he released his grip on me; removing his mouth from my throat. I felt his cold hand stroke the top of my head.

"There there, it will all be over soon" he soothed, looking me over with satisfaction in his eyes and my blood on his lips.

My heart thundered in my chest; my breathing laboured as his acid spread into each bronchial tube in my lungs.

The emotional pain of losing my parents bore near equivalence to this tremendous physical pain I was currently enduring.

I could feel my veins corroding in my arms and legs as I tried to scream repeatedly; once again my dry throat struggled with any sound that came out.

My head began swimming; I was certain my heart would give out from the pain before my consciousness would.

Viktor stood and strolled toward the double doors at the chamber's entrance.

As my vision simmered on the boarder of blackness, I watched as the two guards on the door approached me, one wrapping their cold, slender fingers around me and lifting me from the floor.

The pain swam into my stomach and down my legs as I watched Viktor saunter back to his throne, glancing at me one last time with an icy blue stare as the guards carried me out the doors.

My vision evaded me at the first flight of stairs. My last conscious thought contorted with the rest of my body as I plunged once more into darkness.
