Author's Note: This and the next Chapter will have Farkle's POV added in.

KC's POV

I stood up and went to the bathroom. I started wiping the makeup off of my shoulders, arms, and collar bone, revealing my bruises. I texted Derrick that I forgot that I signed up for the open mic tonight and that I'd like him to come.

Farkle's POV

Everyone else stood up and walked away, except for me and Mrs. Hunter.

KC's POV

Marley walked into the bathroom. She saw the bruises.

"He did all of that?" She asked. Tears started forming in her eyes. "Where else?"

I took a breath and lifted up my shirt. I wiped off the makeup, revealing all of the bruises on my abdomen and ribs. I lowered my pants slightly, revealing the bruises on my hips that I didn't cover up.

She immediately hugged me. She looked down at my hips.

"He…" she said, "didn't he?" I just nodded.

Farkle's POV

"I don't get how anyone could do that," I said. "Especially to her."

"Her father did the same thing to me," she said. "They're sadists, Farkle. I hoped so much that he wouldn't hurt her, but he did. He hurt his own child."

"Neither of you deserved that," I told her.

"Thank you, Farkle," she told me. "The one thing I'm really worried about is that Derrick may be so much like him that he…"

"That he what?" I asked.

"Will you help me set things up, Farkle?"

"Sure," I said.

KC's POV

I put on a jacket on to hide the bruises on my arms, for now. I looked at my phone, and saw it was 6:55. I saw Yogi's dad walk into Topanga's. I told Lucas that even if Derrick did something small, not to attack him. We needed to do it differently.

Once the open mic started Maya went up and started playing "Already Over" by Red. A song I really liked that I introduced to her a few weeks ago. Derrick walked in and sat next to me. He accused me of lying to him, and I told him I wasn't lying. Of course, he didn't believe me. He squeezed my waste, hurting my bruises even more. I yelled out an "Ow!" and he played it off as static electricity.

I went up to the stage after Maya.

"Here we go," I whispered to myself.

I performed the song, dropping my jacket off of my arms, and knew he was furious. I attempted to walk over to my friends and sister. He grabbed me by the arm. He called the performance a stunt. I told him that we are over. He tried to act like I couldn't make that decision.

"Now, I'm going to meet my friends," I told him.

He tightened his grip on my arm, pressing into my bruises.

"LET GO OF MY ARM!" I screamed at him.

The whole place went quiet. Everybody looked our way.

I saw all of my friends faces.

Lucas was fuming.

Maya was concerned and angry.

Riley was concerned.

Marley looked ready to pull me away from him herself and pull me into a hug.

Farkle had a mix of emotions in his face: concern for me, anger at Derrick, alarm that I screamed, sadness that Derrick hurts me, and something I hadn't seen in someone's eyes since Jaxon...love. He may not even realize what he's feeling, but it shows in his face.

I'm overanalyzing, I thought.

Derrick let go immediately. He told me not to make a scene and that he wanted to 'talk'. I looked to all of my friends, especially Marley. I looked back at Derrick.

"No, I'm not going anywhere with you," I told him.

"I just want to talk," he lied.

I got angry and got tears in my eyes.

"No, you don't," I told him. "You want to scream at me and hit me until I promise not to say a word."

"She's crazy," he said. "I would never hit a woman!"

Yogi's dad walked over to us.

"Then where did these bruises on her arms come from?" He questioned Derrick.

"I don't know!" Derrick lied. Everyone could see through it now.

"I'm going to have to call this in," Yogi's dad said. He called his department. "They'll be here soon." He looked at Derrick. "You are not leaving here without handcuffs, young man."

I turned away from him. I heard Maya scream. I turned back around and caught Farkle as he fell back. Derrick had stabbed him. I realized right away that it was meant for me. Farkle stepped in the way.

We went to the hospital. They took Farkle in right away. I told Detective Yogi everything. He told me he wanted me to get a rape kit done and get checked out because of all of my bruises. They did the rape kit, took pictures of all of the bruises, and did x-rays to make sure I didn't have internal damage. They couldn't see any with the x-rays, so they discharged me.

Farkle was already out in the waiting room. He was cleared to drive, and he gave me a ride home. I didn't let him drive after that because he started to misstep, so he slept in Maya's bed.

I woke up screaming. Farkle woke up from my scream. I was shaking. I apologized for it.

He asked if I wanted to talk about the nightmare. The only person that had ever cared enough to talk about these things was…Jaxon. Why does he care so much? Why did Jaxon care so much?

Farkle's POV

We talked for a bit then she looked at me.

"Farkle?"

"Yeah?" I asked.

Her face dropped to the most broken expression I had ever seen on her face.

"He didn't just hit me," she said. I looked at her with concern. "He did other things, he- he—" She started hyperventilating.

I pulled her into a hug. Her breath slowed.

"You don't have to say it," I told her.

I knew what she meant. He raped her. Now I finally understood what her mom was saying. KC's father rapedher mom, and KC was probably the product of that.

She started bawling. I pulled her closer and let her cry into my chest. I knew she needed it. She ended up falling asleep. I lowered her onto her bed and covered her with her blankets. I went to Maya's bed and laid back down. I didn't fall asleep again, angry and sad at the same time.

I got up at five. I grabbed some of the tissues she used to wipe her eyes with and went to put them in her trash. I saw something red in trash. I moved the stuff on top. I saw it was blood covered underwear that was dry, so it was old. I knew the only thing that would do that. She had a miscarriage. My mom had them for years. She was never able to have another kid after me. I covered the underwear with the tissue.

I heard the door open and looked towards it. It was her mom.

"Farkle?" She asked. She looked over at KC's bed. "How is she?"

"She cried a lot last night."

"Want some coffee?" She asked me. "Let's let her sleep."

"Sure," I said.

We went into the kitchen. She poured me a cup.

"Why aren't you asking why I'm here?" I asked her.

"You used to always stay over with Riley and Maya," she said. "So, it doesn't surprise me that you'd stay over to comfort her."

"She actually told me to stay because I got dizzy, and she didn't want me to drive," I said.

"Because of Jaxon?"

"Yeah," I said.

"I heard her scream," she said. "She had a nightmare, didn't she?"

"Yeah," I said. "He really messed with her head."

"Probably just as much or worse than her father," she said. "You're good for her Farkle… like Jaxon was."

I looked towards KC's room.
