Nagisa POV: Something was bothering Karma but Karma wouldn't tell Nagisa.

What should he do? Ask Karma?

But what if Karma didn't want to talk about it-no he definitely didn't want to talk about it but Nagisa still couldn't bear the thought of Karma having to face something that he-for some reason- didn't feel comfortable telling his best friend...

Wait, was that it? What if Karma didn't think of Nagisa as his best friend and he thought of Nagisa as this annoying tag-along and-no.

Nagisa slapped his cheeks.

Stay strong Nagisa! You are his best friend! You should step up and ask him what's bothering him!

"K-karma?" Nagisa stuttered. "D-do you think of me as your f-friend?"

Karma blinked, "Of course? Why?"

Nagisa swallowed, "do you think of me as you b-best friend?"

Karma just looked at Nagisa as if he lost his mind.

"Yes, and why would you think that I didn't think of you that way?"

"Because-" Nagisa's voice broke weirdly.

Just say it all at once!

"BecauseIfeellikesomething'sbotheringyouandyouwon'ttellmeandsoIthoughttherewasareasonyoudidn'tsoIthoughtthereasonwasthatyoudidn'ttrustmethatmuch!" Nagisa blurted out, his cheeks flushed.

Karma blinked, "uh wha-so you're basically telling me that you think that something is bothering me-"

Nagisa nodded.

"And you think I didn't tell you because I didn't trust you."

Nagisa nodded again.

"And this is why you wondered if I saw our friendship and us being best friends?"

Nagisa nodded yet again, looking fearfully at Karma.

"Is it true?"

Karma laughed, slapping Nagisa's back hard. Nagisa's back instantly straightened.

"You're such a worrywart, Nagisa! Next time you have worries piling up like this, you have to tell me!"

Nagisa crossed his arms, "I tried to tell you, you just weren't on your phone!"

Karma sighed, "fine, all of this is a tiny bit my fault. Let me explain: Nothing is worrying me, I trust you more than I trust anyone else, and we are best friends."

He looked at Nagisa, "OK?"

Nagisa nodded, but, when Karma turned away he still had a concerned face.

Karma still isn't telling me what's bothering him...

Nagisa decided to go talk to Rio, Karma's partner in crime, about what to do.

"Karma won't tell you what's bothering him?" Rio whistled, "wow, must be really bad... or non-existent. You're ABSOLUTELY sure that Karma has something on his mind?"

Nagisa nodded, "no doubt about it."

Rio tsked, "well, does he stiffen whenever you talk about anything in particular?"

"No-," Nagisa paused as a memory popped into his mind.

"Wait... He did stiffen up when I asked a question about his parents!"

Rio looked like a light bulb was going off in her mind and them she slammed her palm with her fist.

"I know what's bothering him!"

Then her expression became sober.

"What? What?" Nagisa asked.

"It must be..." She trailed off.

"...he's dealing with family issues."

Nagisa swallowed. No wonder Karma hadn't wanted to tell him... Ahhhhh he was such an idiot, how could he had not connected the dots earlier?!

'Does that mean that your parents returned from Europe?'

He had meant it as a conversation starter, something to cheer Karma up but it must have felt like a stab in the back...

Oh Karma, why didn't you say something?
