-Signal Academy. Afternoon. Principal's Office-
-Souma Uchiha's POV-
I stand before General Ironwood as he scans my body. It's still hard to believe that the man before is half metal. In a way, I guess you could call him a cyborg. I can see that his eyes are filled with questions.
"Of course, I'll answer your questions the best I can sir." I nod politely as mother told me to be respectful towards your elders.
"Hahaha is that so? I thank you for that. Come sit." He gestures me towards a chair to be seated. I walk in to see a fancy office.
I take a sit in front of him, while dad sits next to me.
"Alright I know it's been a year since we last spoke and saw each other... but how are you adjusting to your new life?" He smiles while his hand is place on top of documents.
"It's been very good sir, mom and dad have been treating me kindly. Plus, I have two loving sisters waiting for me back home...though by the time I return I'm afraid that Yang will beat me up for leaving her and Ruby will continuously pout until I bake her cookies."
I smile imagining my dearest sisters, both of them welcoming back home with a smile on their face.
"Hahahaha sounds like you're having the time of your life...it's good that you've loving home" He leans back slightly as he smiles.
"Indeed sir, I've been blessed that I found caring family."
When dad heard this, he tears up slightly...ah I forget he's the sensitive type.
"That's good to hear. Summer also informs me about your training and how you quickly adapted yourself in combat. And I just heard you won your spar against one of the top students here in the academy. Impressive." He's demeanor change to a serious one.
"...Um...Thank you sir."
How did he know about that? Did words spread that quickly?
"And your eyes...As of now those eyes are one of kind. No other souls except for you possess it. Summer also told me you've learned new techniques which expand to various elements beside what we knew which is fire and lightning."
"What mother said is correct. I've learned to master the basic elements such as fire, water, earth, wind and lightning."
The general then place his hand on his chin contemplating what I had just said.
"You mastered it at the age of six and you are able to achieve this without the need of Dusts?"
From his tone, I became slight hesitant to answer him. Even dad wanted to say something but kept quiet to see how things plays out.
"Yes sir...I can use these techniques without the need of Dusts."
The general then closes his eyes contemplating and then opens it as he looks at me.
"Souma you do know what Dusts are?"
I nod to his question. Dusts are prevalent is our society.
"Yes sir. Dusts are our primary source of energy in our daily life, it's can also be utilized in our weapons, back then the four-kingdom waged war to obtain these resources but eventually, the war took so much from each kingdom, eventually everyone compromised in the end. There are four basic type of Dust which are fire, water, earth, and wind. Each of these elements allow the user to use their natural energy such as a fire dust has a burn/explosive effect if handle correctly and the rest follow the same principle by their corresponding element."
I look at dad and he stare at me wondering how smart I am.
"Huh, if only Yang can follow your example in studying instead of playing around."
Dad chuckle while the General nod.
"Good, despite your age. Your ability to study and comprehend the knowledge you've obtain goes to show with dedication you can achieve anything."
General Ironwood seem please with my assessment.
"However, because of this I'm sure you realized what it means if someone found out you can use various elements in combat without the need of Dust...what's more is that it's not part of your Semblance but your natural ability...my best guess is that your high amount of Aura allows you to adapt said elements in a unique way by channel is through your eyes."
What he says holds water...if other kingdoms discover what I can do they will try to convince me to align with them. Worse case they'll force me to. But he's wrong about the Sharingan, it's more than just conjuring elements.
"I understand sir." I agree for now cause at this point I don't want anyone outside my family learning about my eyes.
"Good, it's best that you avoid using your power unless the situation deems it. Now then, my next question would be this...do you know where those shadow creatures are now? The one that Qrow, Summer and Ozpin saw before they met you?"
My eyes widen and I look down to avoid looking at him.
"N-no sir."
Dad then pat my head.
"You can tell us son, we're here to keep you safe. We just want to know where it is."
I look at them and nod.
"They're asleep...I don't really know what they are you see *STATIC*...said always show themselves on a whim."
I see the general tap the table with his finger. Unbeknownst to me he was bothered by that weird static he had just heard fortunately his cybernetic brain managed to captured what I had said.
"I see, can't be help if you do see them do inform your parents okay." He warned me. I guess he doesn't want me getting hurt.
"Yes sir." I nod as I listen.
"Anyways, my last question would be this, can you read this book? I found it in one of the chambers."
I see the general hand me a book...I see a familiar symbol of a fan on it...I reach out and hold the book. I flip the pages and see words in a form of scribbles.
I can't seem to remember what the book is but for some reason I can understand it. I begin to read and finally understood what this book is...it's a diary.
"It's a diary sir...from one of my relatives it seems." I relay to them.
"A diary? Whose? Your relatives?" He asks confounded by the information given to him.
"Yes...it says here, this book belongs to Akane Uchiha...it's a girl's diary." I nod and explained it to him. I flip more pages to see if there's anything of interest.
"I see then I assume that there are stuff there involving boys and fashion."
The general laughs lightly by dad's comment but I simply sat there preoccupied in this person's life...an Uchiha...someone beside me.
"No sir...it's more than that." I stop on a specific page...it's stained with blood.
"Oh, what does it say?"
At first, I hesitate to tell him but...I'll trust him because mom and dad trust him.
"It's involves a death of one of my family." I look at the book intensely as my Sharingan was activated.
Dad and the general look at one another worryingly.
-Flashback. Uchiha Compound. Year Unknown-
-Akane Uchiha's POV-
*CLANK*
*CLANK*
*CLANK*
"*Pant* *Pant* *Pant*"
I retreat back as I use my kunai to parry my opponent's attacks. My opponent quickly throws her kunai, I threw mine as well, it collided deflecting it different direction. She and I are currently panting heavily, I've lost trek how long we have fought. We stood there catching our breathe and as we're about to continue fighting I hear my sensei speak.
"Enough."
The two of us stop with our fist are close to each other's face, we turn to look at our sensei who's standing on top of a tree. She's currently looking at use with her Sharingan while drinking her tea.
"You've done well, both of you have improve since your last bout. Though Akane...I still sense hesitation from you...work to improve on it."
"Hieeee!"
I jump as I see my master glares at me...I quickly hid behind my friend's back where she chuckles lightly.
"*Sigh* If you wish to protect this clan Akane then you must have the strength to control your emotion...otherwise."
My sensei suddenly flickers and disappear from our sight then all of a sudden, I see a kunai inch away from my eye.
"You'll die." I hear her speak from behind me as she held her kunai dangerously close to me.
I gulp and nod...I then turn to see the master giving me a warm smile
"Good. Akane, Eri you may leave to rest for the rest of the day. Report back tomorrow at the usual time."
The two of us bow and left the training area. We went to the bath room to get ourselves clean. We took off our clothes and feel the warm water touches our body as we went in.
"*Sigh* Eri...I messed up big time."
I said with slight tears in my eye...and I sink myself in the water.
"It's okay Akane, you've improved a lot plus if sensei teaches you wisdom by words that means she care for you."
I see her looking down feeling sad.
"Eri...what's wrong?"
I look at her worryingly...it's rare to see her this upset.
"It's my Sharingan or better yet our Sharingan Akane, you and I both have three Tomoe and yet I feel like we're not making any progress..."
I can understand her frustration...what she said is indeed true... Since she and I had mastered our Sharingan yet for some reason we can't advance it. And it's not only us suffering from this dilemma.
"We constantly ask our sensei if there's any way to improve it and all she ever gives to us is the same answer which is 'The time has yet to come for our clan to learn.'"
She said it with a tone of contempt. For a moment I see her Sharingan activates.
I swam up to her and calm her down by holding her shoulder.
"Look I... I just hate feeling this useless...the clan needs us to be strong and yet they themselves are incapable of evolving their own Sharingan. I mean look at our Clan Head."
She was getting angry so I quickly place my hand on her mouth, she shouldn't badmouth those in upper echelon. Otherwise, you'll be punished.
"Hey, calm down Eri. It's okay we'll eventually be strong. Strong enough to surpass the older generation." I lightly joke to calm her down.
"WHEN!?"
She pushes my hand aside and yell at me when she stood up as her Sharingan spins...I never seen her this mad before...seeing her Sharingan...for a moment I was scared.
"We're at war Akane! Those filthy Senju, they think little of us and nothing but pushovers. They failed to see that our clan have always been on top and now those traitors! Those other three clans are slowly joining the Senju to overthrow us."
*BAM*
She hit the wall using her fist.
"What about you Akane? Aren't you upset? Your parents were killed by them...and our numbers are dwindling down."
The moment she mentioned my parents...I recall back my mother loving smile and warmth...I missed her cooking. Dad would be out on mission spreading the glory of the Uchiha Clan.
Eri seeing my face soon realized what she just had said.
"Akane...I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that." Her eyes return to normal as I see her beautiful black eyes. She slowly sat back down hugging her legs.
I shook my head and hug her...the warm water touches our body... and the two of us eventually calm down.
"Like you said...we have to be strong for the clan. Plus, I heard the clan master have selected an heir to be our next leader." I heard this little tidbit when I overheard some maids talking about it.
"Really!?" She looks at me with a surprise expression and I nod in excitement.
"Rumor has it, the next leader is a prodigy and mastered the Sharingan at the age of three." Her eyes went big when she heard what I had said.
"NO WAY! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! WHY DIDN'T WE HEAR ABOUT IT?"
Eri's jaw drop as I laugh at her reaction.
"SHHH! The reason why is because the Clan Head wish to keep it quiet to avoid the enemies from finding out, right now the young master is training intensively withing the compound of the Clan Head. So, you see Eri, we can't be too emotional like sensei said. We must have a calm mind and plan ahead."
Eri nod...I grab hold of her hand and she looks at me strangely.
"Wanna spy the new future head."
I said while grinning.
"Of course."
We quickly took our bath and left to spy for out illusive young master. But before we could we were summoned by our sensei.
We flicker to the dojo as arrived out of thin air. We kneel in front of our sensei.
"We have an assignment for you, the Clan Head expect this mission to be a success. You'll be escorting one of our traders to this village. Here take these, inside contains detail informant on your mission, dispose of it when your done reading."
We grab the scroll (Author: Not the phone) from her hand and the two of us read it.
"We'll get the job done."
Eri said it in a calm voice as she bows, I followed vice versa.
"Good, be careful those Senju are up to something. This is a delicate time, with the training of our next clan master underway, we can't afford the time to be reckless... When you return, I'll teach you how to evolve your Sharingan."
Eri and I look at our master with a surprise look on our face.
"Sensei! Does that mean... have we finally found a way to improve our Sharingan?"
She nods at Eri's question.
"Yes...it seems that our young master has discovered a way to evolve our Sharingan."
Eri and I look at each other and nod
"Yes sensei, we'll return with quick haste once the assignment is done."
Eri and I flicker out of the room and look at each other.
"YAAAAAAYYY!"
We couldn't contain our excitement and hug one another.
"We're finally going to evolve our Sharingan Eri!"
"Heck yeah! I can't wait! let's finish the job lickity split."
She raises a fist pump as we left the premise.
As we walk, we accidentally bump into someone at the corner. The person tumbles down and we see scrolls hitting the ground.
"Ah! sorry!" I bend down to pick up scrolls scatter on the floor, Eri help out as well.
"No, it's my fault...I was holding way too many scrolls. I couldn't see where I was going."
I hear a child voice; I look up to see a cute boy wearing a white kimono. He smiles as I handed him his scrolls.
"Um..who might you be elder sisters?" GOSH HE'S SO CUUUUUTEEEEE! Ahem...time to be the cool older sister.
"Ah...I'm Akane and this is best friend Eri."
"Hello I'm Souma! Age 10"
He said his name with a bright smile on his face. the two of use look at each other and nod.
-Chibi Time-
Eri and I pull Souma's cheeks
"You're so gosh darn cute...such soft skin."
"Indeed Eri, they're so squishy."
"..." Souma look slightly peeved by the treatment.
-End-
"My cheeks hurt." He said as he caresses his cheeks
Eri and I clasp our hand together and apologized to red cheeked Souma.
"Sorry Souma...you're so cute. We couldn't help ourselves." Eri looks away pretending none of this is happening.
"Ahahah it's fine I rarely talk to people...I enjoyed it, are you two going outside?"
We nod, saying we're going out for a mission.
"Ah...I'm jealous...I'm trap reading because grandfather told me it's dangerous outside."
"EH! You've never been outside?" Eri and I were surprise by what he had said.
"No... All I see is the morning sun and well as the moon...that and the village."
Akane: "Oh...well I'm sure your grandfather means well. I mean we're living in dangerous time Souma, so it's better to be safe than sorry."
I see Souma looking downcast...Eri then walked up to him and rubs his head.
"When the time comes and the war is over, Akane and I will bring you out to see the outside world."
His eyes begin to sparkle.
"REALLY!? I wonder how the outside world looks like."
We both nod to each other...silently agreeing that he's a precious boy.
"Yes, we'll bring you out fishing, hiking and many adventures." I said with a smile.
"Thank you! Ah! I better go, I have to study now otherwise grandfather will be mad at me! Bye elder sisters."
We wave goodbye and laugh. What a sweet child.
-End Flashback-
-Souma Uchiha's POV-
"That all I was able to read...the rest of the pages are either too worn off or I don't recognize some of the letters."
I said it while looking at dad and General Ironwood.
"I see, well at least we learned something from this...there are 5 clans back then...the Uchiha which is your clan, the Senju who were your rival clan and 3 others. Your clan was at war with the Senju."
Dad starts to scratch his head questioning this information.
"But...where did they all go? Why haven't we heard stories about them...not even in a fairy tale."
Dad look at the general looking confused.
"That...that I'm not so sure. Maybe Ozpin can shed some light into this...in the mean time I'll bring this finding back to him."
He packs the documents neatly into a folder and place it into a briefcase.
"Umm...General Ironwood..sir?" I call out to him
"Yes." He turns to look at me.
"May I ask that I keep this book...I don't have much item to remember home by and by home, I mean memories...this book I hold now...it doesn't look much, but it held story from my clan...a clan that I can't remember."
The general smile and pats my head.
"Of course, you may keep it and if you find out anything promise me that you'll tell me."
I nod and smile
"Promise."
"Atta boy, well then I've taken too much of your time. You may leave now. I thank you for your assistance."
He shook dad's hand and make his way to the door.
"Sure James. Come along now Souma, let's head home...I can imagine the pain once we get home...maybe we should buy them cookies to appease them or do you want to bake for them instead."
I said that I wasn't in a to bake anything and he didn't blame me after I obtained the diary...Though I would anything to escape Yang's tantrum.
After we be bought the necessary items(bribe) we board the ship and made our way back home.
...While we're inside the floating vessel, I see dad sleeping...I look down and held the book tightly in my arms. I need calm myself...I lied back there when I said I couldn't read the rest...and I'm sure the general and maybe dad was aware of that.
I open the book and continued reading,
Because I saw something that interest me greatly...
The secret to unlocking the Mangekyō Sharingan.
TO BE CONTINUE...
