"I have decided to throw a Halloween party," Dad announced to us. "It will, of course, take place on October 31rst. Your families and friends will arrive the day before. Your maids and valets will be designing costume design for you. Thank you for your time."
I wasn't surprised when my mom didn't show up. I knew she couldn't handle being around my dad. But thank goodness Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Renee came!
"Renesmee, darling, you look like a Princess!" Grandma cried.
"Yeah. But from what I've heard, you've caused quite a lot of trouble." Grandpa said, causing us to laugh.
"I'll escort you to your rooms." I told them.
I led them upstairs to the second floor, where all of the guests were staying. Grandma looked excited and shocked by the elegance and size. Grandpa just muttered, "Stupid royals."
"Where's mom?" I asked, sitting on the bed.
"She's coming tomorrow. She'll be here for the halloween party, don't worry." Grandpa assured me. "You've been gone longer than she's used to—why shouldn't she come?"
"Good. She's coming." I stood up. "Don't forget. Grandma, Esme, Alice and Rose want to see us in the women's room. Grandpa, the King, Carlisle, Emmett and Jasper want you to meet them in the library. At noon."
"Of course."
At noon, I escorted Grandma Renee to the women's room.
The meeting went quite well. The girls were animated, and everyone was sparkling with energy.
The royal women made their rounds, speaking to all the guests, asking questions. I was surprised by how well my grandmothers got along, but I was glad.
Edward's POV
A familiar-looking man walked into the room. He was tall, with dark curls, chocolate eyes, and pale skin. He had a slight build with a handsome face, despite being in his fifties. He looked fit, and like he takes care of himself well.
I recognized him instantly. Charlie Swan. Bella's father. But what was he doing? Did he have a child I never knew about in the contest, or a grandchild? I immediately thought of Renesmee, but brushed off the thought.
"Edward Cullen," He growled.
"Charlie Swan. How's Bella?"
"I'm not telling you because you obviously don't give a shit."
"I left your daughter for her safety. I'm a Vampire, and she's human." I shrugged. It pained me to talk about her.
"Right."
Charlie ignored me, instead opting to talk with other guests. Charlie wasn't very sociable, but he was trying to avoid me. But he got along with Carlisle and my brothers just fine.
If Charlie is here, does that mean that Bella could be, as well?
