Chapter Ten: Back to the TARDIS
Just when they thought all the villains were about to attack, Grodd stepped closer to them and said, telepathically, "I have them all under my control. You may think me a villain, but I am just very smart. And the alliance between those tin cans and their new master is unholy."
"I, I agree with you," The Doctor said. "What are you proposing?"
"All of these creatures will not attack you. But they will all go free. You must not stop them. It would be a waste of time."
Before he could answer, Grodd released them from his control, and the other twenty-four all ran in different directions.
Lyla thought about stopping them, but then thought better of it. There were too many of them.
Grodd was still standing there. However, he was not moving. "Doctor," he said.
"You! You knew there was something behind that door that shouldn't be there."
"It doesn't belong here. Neither do you. Neither does your TARDIS."
"What do you mean, 'here'?!" The Doctor asked.
"You are from another world, Doctor, you must go back. You must take your Daleks with you. This unholy alliance should be impossible."
Barry, taking all of this in, took The Doctor's hand and ran him somewhere else. In mere moments, he came back, also relocating Lyla, then the guards, leaving Grodd standing there alone.
Barry had taken everyone back down through the roof. The Dalek had made a hole in every floor throughout the building, so Barry just ran them all back through those. After he safely left everyone by The Doctor's TARDIS, Barry ran back up to go talk to Grodd.
The Doctor said to Lyla, "Follow me!"
The guards stayed to assess the damage, though nothing much could be done to repair such destruction.
The Doctor stepped inside the TARDIS, followed by Lyla. She was shocked, but not as shocked as one usually would be.
"Wow," she said. "Nice."
"Nice?!" The Doctor scowled. "It's, it's bigger on the inside! There is more technology in here, than you've seen in your entire lifetime!"
"Oh Doctor, you don't know my life," she said, mysteriously.
The Doctor pressed some buttons and turned some knobs. With a little hesitation, he pulled one final lever, and they were off.
"What is that noise?" Lyla asked.
"That's my TARDIS!" The Doctor beamed.
He materialized it just outside and peeked his head out to see Barry and Grodd talking.
"Am I interrupting?" The Doctor asked.
Grodd looked at him and at the TARDIS. He came close to it but didn't dare go much further. He looked inside. "That's alot of energy," he telepathically said to The Doctor. "It's a good thing Thawne doesn't know about that."
"But the Daleks do," The Doctor said, worried.
Just then, four Daleks, with lightning speed showed up. "He wants the TARDIS. HE WANTS THE TARDIS!"
"Barry, come in here!" The Doctor yelled.
Barry ran inside the TARDIS.
All three of them now inside the TARDIS, The Doctor offered for Grodd to come in too. "Quickly!" said The Doctor. Lyla pushed The Doctor back and closed the doors of the TARDIS.
"Are you crazy?! You'd let a psychotic gorilla on this ship?!"
"I let you on here, didn't I?!" The Doctor joked.
Barry laughed.
Ignoring him, Lyla went to the switches and buttons. "What's our next move?"
"Doctor!" Barry said, finally taking a moment to look around. "It's, it's bigger on the inside! Wasn't this just a blue box?!"
"I knew I liked you!" The Doctor smiled at Barry. He looked at Lyla. "See? He gets it!"
Lyla rolled her eyes.
The Doctor went to the console and began to flip some switches so they could take off. But the TARDIS wouldn't move. Something wasn't right.
The Doctor opened the door to see all four Daleks on the ground, defeated. Grodd was standing there, proud.
"Can I come on the ship now?!" Grodd said sarcastically.
The Doctor let him on the ship, and immediately, the TARDIS went dark. There was a bell.
"The Cloister Bell?!" The Doctor cried.
"What's the cloister bell?!" Barry asked.
"It only goes off if we are all in IMMEDIATE danger. The most serious kind of immediate danger."
"Where is the danger?!" Lyla said. "I bet it's that gorilla!" She pointed at Grodd. Grodd sneered.
Sparks started flying from inside the TARDIS, and the cloister bell rang louder than it ever had, echoing through time.
"Doctor!" Lyla said, as The Doctor fell to the ground. "Is that why you've been feeling dizzy, falling down, holding your ears so much? Was it this cloister bell thing?"
"Could be," The Doctor said, barely able to breathe, holding his ears to try to block the noise. "I've never heard the cloister chime so--"
Sparks flew from the TARDIS console and everything started to shake. The cloister bell sounded one last time with a noise so loud, it could break time itself. Everything went black. All the lights went off and all the passengers on the TARDIS were now unconscious. All of them, except Grodd.
