While Sheik dealt with the grimm woman, Luna and the rest of the girls went to finish the Null. Though it was now slightly easier due to its arm missing, the Null was still a tough opponent.
Luna dug some of her aura blades into the Null, before thrusting her actual blade at it, pushing it slightly back into Blake and Weiss who then sent it into the air where the last two members finally slammed it back down.
"Did we get him?" Blake asked, but her question was quickly answered when they heard low growling noises.
"Why can't it just go down?" Yang complained.
Tough as it was, the Null was receiving damage as it was now shaking from head to toe. It then let out another shriek, before crimson red markings began to spread throughout its body.
Seeming to recognise what this meant, Luna's eyes widened in horror before she quickly snapped at her teammates to leave. Confused, her teammates all just gave her a "Huh?", before suddenly feeling intense fear coming from the Null.
They watched in fear as the skeletal grimm hobbled closer to them, it's eyes glowing with bloodlust.
The girls shakily raised their weapons, sweat trickled down their cheeks as they tried to stand their ground to fight. However, before they could even think of engaging with the Null, a hand shot in front of them. It was Luna signalling them to not go on any further. The blonde then turned her head at them, she silently stared back at them, her eyes not showing an ounce of fear in them.
Realising they stood no chance, the girls just turned their backs on Luna and jogged to the rest of their fellow huntsmen.
With her team out of harm's way, Luna turned her attention to the Null. It was now like a puppet, jerking all over while it's head hung to the side. Black tendrils then sprouted from its severed limb and attached itself back unto its arm, negating any damage that was inflicted upon it beforehand.
Dropping to a battle stance, Luna pointed her blade at the Null which was then followed by the aura blades that levitated behind her. In a similar fashion the Null also slightly lowered itself, its fingers slowly curling.
The Null was first to act, pouncing at the huntress. Luna skipped to the side, dodging the outstretched arm of the Null. With its side exposed, the huntress took her chance and went for a thrusting attack. However the grimm noticed the attack, so it quickly turned its body letting the blade pass underneath its armpit. It was then about swipe at Luna but the huntress took out her gun and shot her opponent's hand back.
With the grimm somewhat staggered from the surprise attack, Luna jumped back to regain some distance. She readied her sword once again, but this time made a mental reminder of the changes the grimm went through.
The Null then dashed at the girl once again, throwing a flurry of claw swipes. Luna did her best to parry and dodge the attacks, but a couple managed to slip past her defense and strike all over her body. This wasn't good for the huntress since her aura was converted into her blades, leaving her practically defenseless for the entire fight.
It was also difficult to keep up with the Null's attacks in the first place. They were quick and savage that she could only guess where the next strike would land.
When the grimm rose one of its hands high in the air, Luna quickly attempted to roll out of the way but a stinging feeling surged through her body the moment she attempted to move. Snapping her head to her legs, she was shocked to see it covered in deep cuts.
With no time to dodge left, Luna held her blade out in front of her like a shield and let the attack collide with it instead. A small shockwave was produced upon impact, but the sword managed to handle the force albeit cracking slightly. Now that they were locked in place Luna quickly used her aura blades to push the Null back.
Luna then stabbed her blade into the ground as she dropped to one knee, breathless. She glanced back up at the pinned Null and saw it wildly tried to get the blades off of itself. Regaining her breath, she stood up with the help of her blade as a crutch, before pointing it at the Null again.
The Null eventually escaped its restrictions, and was ready to resume its fight with the huntress. Even though it was formidable, the grimm was weakening. Unfortunately so was Luna and at a faster rate.
However fatigue wasn't going to stop her. Recalling and dismissing her blades returned her aura to her body, slowly healing some of her shallow wounds.
"Round two." She was the first to charge this time, swinging her sword to aim for its head.
This time however the Null didn't dodge the attack, it just blocked it with the back of its hand. Luna then tried to shoot the Null, but it then placed its hand on the barrel and then forced the gun to aim upwards. No surprise the bullet went through like it did last time, but now it had both of Luna's weapons lodged within its hands.
Luna grunted and pulled her weapons, but it was no use they were firmly held in place. Opening its jaws, the Null reeled its head back before straight for Luna's neck, however a shot then struck the side of its head snapping it away from Luna.
Turning to the direction of the bullet, Luna locked eyes with an aiming Ruby with Crescent Rose in its rifle mode.
The younger huntress gave Luna a quick nod, which made the older girl smile before taking her own gun and aiming it at the Null's torso. She then pulled the trigger, letting a bullet drill a hole at the grimm's chest, causing to roar in pain as well as drop the girl.
Landing on her feet, Luna then took her blade and swung it across the Null's chest. The blade pushed against the blade, but the grimm's skin was a lot more thicker than she anticipated once it was past the surface. Gritting her teeth, Luna gripped her weapon with both of her hands and pushed with all her might, her sword gaining cracks from the sheer force.
Eventually she did manage to separate the grimm from its legs. Not taking any chances, Luna then summoned an aura blade and launched it at the Null, striking on the head then pinning to the wall.
The grimm twitched for a couple of seconds before it finally went limp and slowly dissipated into tiny black particles, killing it forever.
While getting back some of her breath, Luna glanced at the cracked blade, eyeing the small chips at the edge that was pushing against the Null. She let out a small sigh before sheathing it and making her way back to her team.
Once reunited Ruby asked how she was feeling to which Luna responded with a tired nod before saying, "Ok at best."
A small explosion then came bursting out of a nearby building. The huntresses then noticed that out of the smoke made of dust came the grimm woman, violently crashing into the street. Followed by Sheik who instead just dropped out the crumbling building.
"How?" the woman asked, her voice shaking. "How can my semblance not work on you?!"
Sheik stared her down for a few seconds before asking, "You're semblance only works on people with aura right?"
The woman did not answer, but Sheik could tell this was indeed correct. "Well you see. I don't have aura."
Everyone's eyes, except Luna's widened in shock. No aura? Impossible, a huntsman without an aura would have no chance fighting a grimm, let alone another person. However, even if it was unfathomable, it was logical.
The woman became furious at this revelation, she was being beaten by a regular human?! Nonsense!
"I refuse to be beaten by a mere human." Her head then shot up as she bellowed, "I am a gri-"
Within mere seconds, the grimm woman was forcefully silenced by one of Sheik's weapons that had lodged itself into her cranium and snapped her head back. With her neck exposed, Sheik then took the other blade he had and transformed it into the shuriken before tossing it at the woman, decapitating her.
The cut was so fine that it actually a good few seconds before the head actually managed to separate from the neck and fall to the floor.
Walking up to the body Emir noticed that she was bleeding. He stared at the bleeding neck for a good few seconds, before sighing in disappointment and returning to the others.
Running up to her brother, Luna checked his body for injuries. She searched high and low for any injuries, but there were no wounds, which caused the young girl to sigh in relief. Now it was her turn to be searched, though Sheik didn't need to search as thoroughly. Just one glance showed just how much damage she sustained from her fight.
"Sword," the boy commanded, and the girl reluctantly handed her weapon over.
After witnessing the blade's state, Sheik felt a strong stabbing sensation go through him. But he stood strong and eyed his sister, who was nervously fidgeting in place. "Well I expected as much, I'll fix it when we get back."
Luna looked up at her brother in slight shock before a small smile appeared on her face. She then nodded her rapidly like a child. This caused her brother to gain a smile of his own and proceed to pat her head, to which she leaned into.
The two then heard someone clear their throat making them turn to the others who were awkwardly waiting for them to finish their bonding moment.
"Right, let's all pick up CVFY and head home. Who knows what'll come popping out of these buildings," Sheik said before he and the group began to make their way to CVFY's location.
Along the way RWBY and JNPR struck a conversation with Luna regarding Sheik. They questioned her on how he became a huntsman, but Luna only responded by telling them that it was a long story and that she'll tell them when they get back to Beacon.
Meanwhile Sheik and Glynda were silent, though the boy knew that the older woman had questions.
"You're not gonna prod me?" he asked.
"No," she deadpanned. "Professor Ozpin has already informed the staff members of your case."
"Is that so? But I can still feel the uneasiness around you." Sheik glanced at Glynda and noticed her brows furrow.
"It is nothing," Glynda responded, but Sheik wasn't convinced.
"So you know. Will you tell the others?" Sheik questioned, anxious though he tried hard not to show it.
"No," she deadpanned once again. "I am aware of what you are capable of, there is no need to fear."
Sheik's eyes widened momentarily before a soft assured smile crept onto his lips. "Well that's good to know.
