Within the next few days it was clear that Sahl could beat anyone on the ship in hand to hand combat. There was some amusement felt as everyone tried to beat her, and she felt proud in her accomplishment as many of the troopers laughed along. Like Boil said, "Its nice to see her do that to someone else."

It seemed that trip to Corrisaunt was going to go smoothly, until Cody found Sahl sneaking around the ship in the dead of night. Knowing that this was a symptom of not being able to sleep as some of his brothers did it he spoke, "Sahl?"

She nearly leapt out of her skin as she whirled around, "I didn't touch anything I swear Commander." As easily as the first day she slipped into a defensive pose as if waiting for him to beat her watching as he took a step closer with fearful eyes.

Holding out his hands to show that he wasn't holding a weapon and keeping them where those fearful eyes could see every twitch, "I'm not going to hurt you." His voice was the soothing one he used on the cadets when they saw blood for the first time, "I just want to know whats wrong kid."

Those stripped eyes still watched him as wide as a spooked tookas, trying to decide to attack or run. She swallowed before whispering, "I never sleep." Seeing his nod encouraging her to continue, "She always comes when I dream."

"The Dark Woman?" Cody asked.

Sahl nodded, "She is never happy with me. She…." once again the kid stopped her own words as she lowered her eyes again, "I would hurt myself a lot at those times."

Understanding the fear of an abused child Cody asked gently, "Are these just dreams or are they memories?"

"Both." The kid looked like she wanted to cry for a second, before it was wiped from her face by force of will, "I did not mean to disturb you Commander." Forcing a swallow, "Is there a task you wish for me to complete?"

Before Cody could wonder what changed he heard the clatter of another set of boot and Crys came around the corner before stopping in his tracks, "Commanders. I didn't mean to…"

Cody cut him off, "We were just discussing tactics in case Darth Maul comes after the General again." Sahl straightened as he continued, "Do you have anything we else we need to take into account?"

And so they started discussing those plans to protect the General. They then moved on to how to keep him from Asajj Ventress and filled Sahl in on these people. As well as General Grievous who Sahl had heard of before. Cody was relived to see the kid seeming to relax a bit as she focused on keeping someone else safe, but he also knew he needed to discuss this with his General.
