Jealousy Lingers
.Chapter 17 – The Russian Invasion.
Apart yet in-sync, Tyson and Kai both couldn't concentrate on their tasks.
Tyson had changed into his clothes and sat onto the edge of the bed to fix his eyes upon the mobile phone, he seemed to brain-fogged to concentrate on the texts that were revealing themselves.
Kai on the other-hand, he was almost jumping at the cars around him as they frustratedly beeped their horns at him to encourage him to concentrate on the road.
Both bladers knew this wasn't going to end well, but neither of them were stubborn enough to back-down from their tasks.
Tyson huffed at himself and rubbed his eyes, yet Kai opened his window and took a deep breath of fresh air.
'The marriage has been arranged, uncle. We wed on Valentines Day, Kai has prepared the funds to pay for your next advertising campaign. Prepare Boris and Voltaire's pardon.'~
No matter how many times Tyson tried to read this, it just couldn't sink in. He latched his right hand onto his cap and squeezed it tightly.
'I've been waiting for so long to see this, so why is it not sinking in?!' Tyson lowered his head with tears fogging up his view, 'It's because I know that I'm not going to like what I'm about to read, isn't it? Oh, Kai. I wish you'd talk to me more.'
'I need to go down a back route to avoid any unwanted attention.' Kai turned into a road which contained frames and outlines of houses which were being freshly built. In the prime time of the day, it was heaving with construction workers. But now that it was in the evening, the workers had retired home and left their stations, meaning Kai had some privacy to fuck up in peace.
Despite that this new built road seemed like a short to the dojo, it appeared that Kai wasn't the only person who was aware of it.
Out of nowhere, a white blade charged towards the car and slashed it's way through the left tyres. Now that the control had been snatched out of Kai's hands, the steering wheel swung to the left and capsized once it had collided with the curb.
"Uh….!"
A breath ghosted from Kai's mouth as the vehicle spun around across the road. All he could register was the sound of the music on the radio mixing with the frame of the car crunching and smashing in the swirling storm. He slammed his eyelids closed and braced himself by crossing his arms in front of his face to protect himself.
After a few seconds, the vehicle finally stopped and it was all thanks to a construction site fence.
Kai took a few deep breaths and slowly opened his eyes to realise that this was reality and not a daydream. Before his fogged mind could think about crawling out of the shit-show, faint footsteps approached the vehicle.
With every step approaching crunching the shattered glass, Kai's hearing tuned in more. He lowered his arms and tensed when a hand latched onto his shoulder to then drag him out of the small window space.
"I was told that you and Tyson are often seen together." The familiar dry voice stated with disappointed stained within his tone. "For fuck sake, Kai. You have disappointed me."
Their polar opposite orbs met and their aggressive elements sparked. Kai's soul prepared for war, meanwhile Tala looked starved for revenge.
"Yes, I am often seen wiping his arse." Kai muttered with his pride bluffing his vulnerability. He slammed his feet firmly onto the ground and then slapped away his ex-captains hand. "Hm, I guess I am going to have to do it again."
Pleased to see that his rival was still in one piece, Tala slithered his tongue along the inside of his cheek and rolled his eyes. He knew that he wasn't going to get close to Tyson without destroying his captain. But the Valkov did wonder why on Earth Kai would defend the champion. Was it because he was savouring the title for himself? Of course, Kai is selfish.
"You are far a hero." Tala squinted and raised his hand up into the air to catch a hold of his blade, "I will leave you in the capable hands of my teammates. Tyson will pay for damaging my reputation."
Within the blink of an eye, the rest of the Blitzkrieg Boys has surrounded Kai with their loaded launchers aiming towards him.
A manic laugh then blustered from deep within Kai's stomach. He wrapped his arms around his stomach and then tucked his knees in to balance himself. This dramatic act glued everyone's attention to him, even Tala couldn't pull himself away because he was too curious to see what Kai was playing at.
"He's mocking us." Bryan growled with his pupils narrowing dangerously, "Damn you, Hiwatari."
"Do you think so?" Spencer spoke with a daring grin plastered onto his dried lips, "I think he's scared. Kai has always had a tendency to bluff his way out of admitting his true emotions. That's why Boris always favoured him."
The mention of that dark name sent goose bumps up Tala's skin. It was so flammable that it fuelled the bitterness that the Wolborg wielder was craving for. He gritted his teeth together and puffed out his chest. The wolf was ready to explode and unleash hell.
"Tala!" Bryan barked to catch his captains attention, "Go and find Tyson, we'll take care of the Joker impersonator here, like, right now."
After that sentence was finished, Bryan released his blade and fired it straight towards the howling businessmen. Tala nodded and disappeared the others followed Bryan's lead to launch their blades. Kai on the other-hand, he just remained still and adjusted his figure to dodge each blade.
He tilted his neck, shifted his shoulder and turned to his side. All he could feel was air brushing against him to indicate that they had missed him.
"You shouldn't have done that." The dual haired blader smirked as he pulled out his blade from his pocket and his launcher from his office belt. Tucked within his collar was his ripcord, which he pulled free using his mouth. He assembled his launcher and aimed it towards Bryan, "Nobody is taking Tyson down, except me."
"Then you better make it quick." Ian snarled with his fists clenched, "Oh wait, you can't, because we are going to kick your ass."
Back in Tyson's bedroom, something extraordinary happened. "WHAT?!" The information had finally sunk in through Tyson's thick skull and embedded itself into his brain. "He's marrying her for the sake of Boris and Voltaire?!"
'It doesn't matter how much I dislike her or love him, that wedding will take place.'
A violent swirl stirred up Tyson's stomach and he arched his figure forwards. "I'm going to be sick." He tried to hush himself to stop the urges from leaving his mouth, but the shock of all of this stress was finally taking a toll on his body. He sloppily placed the phone under his blanket and rushed across the dojo to make his way to the bathroom.
SLAM!
'I've almost been ran over twice. Fangirls are driving me crazy. My school grades are dropping. Hiro is on my case. Max and Ray have been bitching. Kai is being a prick, yet he's trapt in an arranged marriage. Hilary is fighting with fangirls on a hourly basis. Tala is probably raging. The fangirls are shipping us together. Yet Grandpa….'
As the thought of the family member stole his vision, the young Granger lifted his head out of the toilet to notice that Grandpa was now stood beside him. He had just washed his hands in the sink and he was now staring at his grandson with a preserved expression varnished on his aged face.
"Uh..."
"It looks like we need to have a talk T-man." He placed his hands onto his hips, "But first, flush away that vomit."
