Chapter Seventeen
Percy
Despite his protests, he and Harry were ushered to the Hospital Wing. Ron sat in a bed, Hermione in a chair beside it. Madame Pomfrey turned to Harry and Percy, and began to thoroughly check for wounds.
"Potter, what are you drinking?" She eyed the red liquid suspiciously, and Percy laughed.
"Madame, it's a wonderful health drink from my homeland. Just look, he's almost healed!" She muttered something, running her wand up and down in front of Harry while holding a piece of parchment. She treated the few scrapes and cuts with a wave of her wand.
Turning, she did the same with a new piece of parchment to Percy. The paper lengthened like a store receipt, and she waved it in his face.
"Do you see this?" she thundered, "This is a list of every bone you've somehow managed to break in your life! Why the hell is it so long, and why didn't you tell me you're standing here with three broken ribs!"
Pushing Percy onto a bed, she began to fuss over him.
"The ribs are fine, they're almost healed anyway! I drank a health potion immediately after breaking them! And those injuries were years ago, I'm not a masochist I swear!" Madame Pomfrey nearly glowed with anger, and he meekly took the pro offered potion.
Dumbledore and his friends laughed, and he gave them a half hearted glare. Dumbledore placed the stretcher Quirrell was bound to on one of the beds, he'd used his wand to make a floating stretcher to carry him. Quirrell, with the horrible face visible, was still unconscious. The gray mud had stopped bleeding, and Dumbledore seemed resigned at the sight. He waved his wand, and magical chains bound him to the bed. Dumbledore came to where Percy lay, and Percy handed him Quirrell's wand.
Madame Pomfrey pushed Ron, Harry, and Hermione from the room, and Percy leaped to his feet to follow. She began to yell at him, and he yelled back.
"I've had a lot worse than this, and no way am I spending any more time in a hospital bed! I told you before, I'm almost healed!" She reluctantly let him leave, and he joined his friends.
They made their way to the Great Hall, and arrived in time for dinner. Sitting in their usual spots, they saw Dumbledore walk to the front of the room.
"Another year of learning has come and left, and we must part ways again. Before that I have something to announce. Professor Quirrell is being detained by Aurors, having been found to be possessed by Voldemort." At the name, ridiculous reactions filled the room, "On a brighter note, I will now award the House Cup. Slytherin, with 350 points, is in first place. Gryffindor with 210 points, in second place. Hufflepuff, with 200 points, is in third place. Ravenclaw, with 180 points, brings up the rear." Applause rang from the Slytherin table as the hall was decorated silver and green.
"However, I have some last minute points to distribute. To Ronald Weasley, for the best game of chess in Hogwarts history, and the bravery to sacrifice himself for others, I award 50 points. To Hermione Granger, who kept her wits in the face of fire, I award another 50 points. To Harry Potter, who mastered the desires of his own heart for the greater good, I award 60 points." Everyone held their breath, it was now a tie.
"And to Percy Jackson, whose excellent swordsmanship and bravery helped capture a villian, I award 50 points." The Great Hall rang with cheers, and the Slytherins glowered.
"I believe a change in decoration is in order." Clapping his hands, the green and silver was replaced by Gryffindor scarlet and gold. Their fellow Gryffindors clapped them all on the back, and Percy yelped.
"Back off, ya crazy Brits! I got three godsdamn broken ribs!" The twins, and his friends laughed as the others backed up with ashamed looks.
Aeto, who had been sleeping in his hood, woke at the noise. He leaped from his perch, right onto the table. Everyone laughed as the little puppy began to gorge himself on ham.
Percy and the others were waiting for the horseless carriages that were going to take them to the train. As they crested the top of the hill, however, Percy let out a startled cry.
"I thought you said they were horseless? Those look an awful lot like horses to me." Percy pointed at the dark skeletal pegasi, and friends looked at him oddly. Neville nodded, looking at them.
"I see them too." Shrugging, he took his place in one of the carriages.
As the door closed, there was a flash of blue light, and he was standing in the middle of the mess hall at Camp Half-blood.
"Percy?!" Annabeth yelled, and he realized how odd he must look in his school robes. And then he realized something else.
"GODSDAMN IT WHY AM I STILL A MIDGET!" Everyone looked similarly confused, but gave a small laugh at that. Percy sighed, glad to be home.
"What happened, Percy?" Chiron asked, dumbfounded. Percy laughed.
"I'm a freaking wizard, and have a British accent, and am eleven years old. There's a lot to explain." Jason smirked, and towered over him.
"You, a wizard? And a midget? This has to be some kind of joke." Percy pulled out his wand, and with a swish of his wand, said "extend palpbrae". Jason, knowing Latin, said "What-" his eyebrows grew in front of his face like a veil.
Percy smirked and mumbled the counter-curse. Jason's eyebrows returned to normal.
"Who's calling names now, Eyebrows?" Percy flopped into his seat, and his friends crowded around him. He had two months of being home to look forward to.
"Darn it. I forgot I have homework too! Well, I have two months anyway." They looked at him oddly, and he whooped.
"Summer break, baby!"
"It's September, Percy." They were distracted by Aeto wiggling out of Percy's hood. Aeto plopped himself on the table and began to eat some of Percy's fries. Soon everyone was petting him, giving him bits of their food. Percy smiled, home at last.
That's it for book one! Trust me, I've got a lot more in mind, I'm not letting Percy off the hook just yet! I will release each new book in about one or two week intervals, granted as I am still learning the workings of this fine website. Leave thoughts, reviews, hate and love in the reviews.Best Wishes,Istalri
