Ch 17. Aftermath
Location: Normandy en-route to Feros, Crew deck
Prime's POV
I was sitting at one of the tables along with Ashley, Nihlus, Kaiser, Sepia, Johnson, Forge, & the rest of the ground team as we wait to hear about Anthony's recovery & Nihlus was talking to Sepia & Kaiser as Snow was in there with Halsey, Chakwas, & Ratchet
I saw the doors open & Chakwas out then said "Winters will make a full recovery thanks to our three medical experts" she gestures to Snow, Ratchet, & Halsey as I smiled behind my helmet & she continued "I will allow up to 2 people to come in to see him"
Myself & Ashley went in to check up on him as we could see that Snow was laying next to him with her helmet off she has tan skin, brown eyes, & dark brown hair which I can say she looks cute, she was also asleep probably from the amount of excitement that happened & from helping patch Anthony up. Anthony was also armorless & was only wearing black pants with bandages covering his chest, left arm, right shoulder, & right leg
I felt someone grabbing my hand as I turn to look & see that it was Ashley who was still looking at Anthony & I could only guess was that she was worried
Then I look to see Ratchet float on out & head towards the elevator probably back down to engineering along with Garrus, Tali, & Tony
Then I look to see Anthony start waking up as Ruby walks past me & Ash just to stand right next to Anthony's bed & Snow woke up to look at Anthony as he started to wake up then said "can someone give me the license on the fucking Thresher Maw that knocked me to the fucking ground"
I chuckled then said "I would tell you if it wasn't nothing but a pile of rotting flesh" I then saw him smile a little until Ruby & Snow started smacking him as I laughed which I could only guess was for scaring the hell out of them & for getting himself sent to the med bay & Ashley laughed with me as we also heard Ghost berating the poor man & we just watched this happen
-1 hour later-
Anthony's POV
I was finally able to get a breather from the punishment by the three women & I know that Ruby went back up to help keep Joker company, Ghost was going to be quiet for a few as that was my punishment, & Snow was sleeping on one of the medical beds
Ashley & Prime came by to check up on me to see if I was alright & after I told them I was alright they told me to get well before we hit Feros then left to head back downstairs
Wrex came by to congratulate me on killing a Thresher Maw but then I remembered Shepard being terrified so after he took a ride down the elevator I looked around my surroundings making sure that no one was watching & for what I could use to get up as I spotted my Sniper so I went ahead & grabbed it which I was going to use as a crutch & I took the ammo out just incase as I got up slowly & position the sniper under my right arm as I was gonna have to move carefully to walk out & as soon as I did that I could see that no one else was around so either everyone was sleeping or they were doing something else
I didn't have time to think about that & I needed to check on Shepard to make sure she was alright since that mission went FUBAR very quickly
I reached Shepard's quarters then I knocked on the door & said "Shepard you in there? It's Winters & I wanted to-" I didn't get a chance to finish speaking as the door open & I didn't register what happened next as she pulled me into her room & hugged me tightly
I didn't know what else to do as this was very new to me & my god I could hear Ghost giggling in my head at me which I was gonna have a talk with her
Shepard let go & looked down as she said "I'm sorry for what happened..." I sighed then I just went ahead & hugged her
I went ahead & said "It's alright, nobody knew what was going to happen noir what we would be up against"
I let go as she walked over to her bed then sat down & feeling like a gentleman I am I went ahead & sit down next to her as she said "I froze & I nearly got everyone killed..."
"Shepard.." She definitely was looking broken up about it & I could only guess that she was remembering Akuze & I went ahead & continued "You froze but you got back to us & saved our lives"
"I got about 50 marines killed by those things &-" I tapped her on the shoulder & she looked up at me with eyes full of regret, pain, terror, sadness
I went ahead & spoke "I know but you got through it & completed the mission & killed the bloody bastard, you aren't alone in this Shepard. I lost people too & I'm terrified by the bloody parasite..." I started getting vivid images of what appears to be the flood but I shook my head & continued "Just the very thought of them scares me.. But I'm not gonna allow anyone else to let their fear control them"
Shepard went ahead & said "You don't know what kind of hell I had to go through. The friends I lost. The horror I saw when they were dragged away or had acid spill all over them" she closed her eyes & a few tears escaped her eyes
I felt like a complete asshole so I just went ahead & wiped those tears away from her & said "True I don't know what you had to go through but I probably would of prefer that then what I had to go through..." She opened her eyes to look at me as I continued "The horror I went through was like a nightmare that you could never wake up. At first I was focused on killing the things but once I saw them attach to a soldier &... Change them, that's when I saw the horror & as soon as I got away with my team I had to revisit that nightmare again & I nearly froze..." I was starting to shake as I was starting to remember more about the flood
Then I felt Shepard place a hand on my arm then she laid her head on my shoulder which brought me out of my thoughts & she started talking "I guess we both have something to be afraid of but you helped me get through it... Thank you"
I was starting to blush but thankfully the door was closed & no one was watching "Your welcome Shepard" I smiled then I noticed the bags under her eyes as I asked "When was the last time you slept?"
She didn't reply as she averted her eyes away & that told me enough as I was gonna ask Ghost about how long until we reach Feros, she showed me that it would be 10 hours until we get there so that was more then enough time to get some sleep as I said "You need rest Shepard. Spectre or not I will get Chakwas to keep you on the ship for the mission until you get some rest"
She seemed to understood then said "I will... Only if you stay here... I mean to help me sleep & you probably need sleep too" I nearly chuckled as I could see Shepard stammering so I just hugged her with my left arm which got her to tense up then relax
"Sure & besides this helps me make sure your actually sleeping" I could see her smirk as she pushed me down on the bed & lay on me which I was very confused about & I could hear Ghost laughing at my predicament & was yelling out in my head for me to kiss her
Shepard went ahead & said "Your comfy" she closed her eyes & cuddled me as I smiled then I just realized that Shepard was only wearing a sports bra & shorts as I blushed
"Ruby is gonna kick my ass..." I sigh then I grabbed then covers & used that to cover us just incase someone decides to pop in
Location: Cargo bay
Tony's POV
I was working on the engines making sure they were all working along with Tali who was worried so I just placed a hand on her should & the response I get was a squeak as she jumped then looked at me then said "You Bosh'tet. What do you think you were-"
I stopped by saying "Sorry I just saw that you were worried & wanted to see how you were holding up?"
She seemed to relax & said "oh, well sorry I'm just worried about Anthony is all. He took that hit &.. I'm not sure how strong you Spartans are but-"
"Spartans don't die." I told her with confidence as I continued "We only go missing. He survived worse & he will keep fighting the good fight no matter what"
"I hope your right. I would hate to lose anyone on this ship" I could understand how she's feeling since there's not that many of us around but if we could find Johnson & Forge along with Crimson then I have to hope we can keep finding everyone else
I went ahead & said "I can tell you that you won't lose me noir anyone else on this ship if I don't have anything to say about it" I wasn't sure if that was the best choice of words or not but that's the best I got

Prime's POV
I finally got all the weapons installed with the upgrades Anthony assigned me & with the help of Ashley & Garrus along with Wrex who was interested, we now got our very own self replenishing ammunition block with all the ammo mods installed including a custom frictionless material, thanks to Ratchet, with combat optics X, Improved sights X, kinetic coil X, & a Hyper rail X which gave the weapons a high increase in damage which a pistol now could easily destroy a Aramture with 12 shots at its head cannon
I was lucky enough that the Alliance Requisition guy had the stuff that I needed, the ammo mods I was able to install the mods but I had some issues with the freaking high explosive rounds since I nearly blew my fucking fingers off if Garrus didn't show me how to handle the rounds & Ashely was a big help on putting the mods together
Once after that we set up a few Loki Mechs with different shields & we tested the weapons, the pistol worked like a charm with a little heavier recoil but it works, the shotgun was a beast when Wrex used it but when Ashley went to use it she flew right into me knocking me off my feet & down on my ass which got both Wrex & Garrus laughing but once after I got to work on the recoil on the shotgun it was perfect, the Sniper went right through the mechs & blew them up & the sniper was able to have a higher firing rate, more shots before it overheats, the sniper could fire at a range of 700 meters, not as far as the snipers I know but it does know how to deal damage
The Assault rifle has a good recoil, amazing damage, high rate of firing, & when it was fired, the rifle had perfect accuracy where it could damage a mantis
I was putting everyone's weapons in their lockers when I heard Garrus call out "Hey Austin, mind if I ask you something?"
I turns to look at him as I replied "What is it Garrus?" I leaned against the wall
He then said "I wanted to ask who's the best sniper you know?" I chuckled kneeing this question was coming up
I then answered "Well it would be Anthony but he chose to be 2nd due to his fear of girls" then I couldn't help but laugh
Garrus chuckled then asked "ok I have two questions, 1 is why & 2 is who's 1st?" After I calmed down I went ahead & told him
"The first one is because of Ruby after she demolished 60 Hunters, 42 Brutes, 90 Grunts, 76 Drones, 28 Jackals, & 50 Elites with nothing but her bare hands & her PJ's after they woke her up & man she was pissed then afterwards Anthony pretty much is scared of girls but only when they get pissed off & 2 is a girl named Linda" after I told him those two answers he was shocked on how someone was able to do all of that in their PJ's
Location: Feros, Tunnels
First person POV
God damn my aching head I went to sit up but then I noticed that I wasn't alone as I saw some others but it was hard to recognize in the dark until I activated my VISR which highlighted them as friendly & lighten up the area
When I looked at the others I noticed that they were in ODST armor but upon looking closer I then saw it was Dutch, Romeo, Dare, & Micky of all people but then I looked to see some kind of suit of armor that had a Spartan helmet but then I heard something growl & I didn't have time to figure out what it was as I got up then ran to the suit & once I figured out how to open it I saw a dead body fall out as I jumped back in surprise
Once I calmed down a little I immediately got into the suit & it surprisingly came to life with a screen popping asking me if I wanted a tutorial which I went ahead & accepted as another screen popped up asking for a name, service number, & a optional nickname's so I went ahead & said "name: Jason Helon, service number: 2319684, nickname: Kozak, alternate nickname: Rookie" after I said that I saw another screen pop up saying [Welcome to the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL suit]

Alpha 9 along with the appearance of the Prototype suit is here and I've read both New Blood and Bad Blood and if your wondering why are most of them still ODST's and not Spartan IV's Freelancer hasn't read the books and that's why they are they aren't Spartans yet if you like the story so far leave a review
