"You ready, Sir?"
"Yup, Go ahead, fire away."
"Master, Why do you struggle with believing I actually like you?
"Ok. Wow. Starting off with the big guns, huh? Well, I've been attracted to guys before that didn't like me back, but I projected my own feelings onto them, convincing myself that they liked me too. I'd make the whole thing up in my head and embarrass myself. In high school, I once convinced myself I could win the straight quarterback's heart and I tried to spend more time with him by hooking up our parents. I'm not known for my ability to read other's well. I guess I just need to make sure Im not making it all up in my head- us, I mean.
"Oh, okay, but you're starting to believe it now?-
Because it's important to me that you do."
"I'm happy to say that I am. It's like my heart has always believed it, but it still worries sometimes."
"You're happy with me, though?"
"Absolutely!"
Kurt took Blaine's hands in his and asks him if he'd be alright with dropping the game and just talk amongst the two of them. He wasn't sure he could be as patient a player as Blaine had been while sitting in the hot seat. Plus, Kurt had difficulty keeping things short. He'd never say he hadn't NOT ever been accused of being long winded.
"Sure, but do I still get to ask you questions?"
"You sure do, I just think I need more time to explain my answers."
"Ok, well here's an easy one. What exactly do you do for a living?"
Kurt laughed out loud. "Actually, it is, and it isn't, the easiest to answer. First of all, I help my dad's automotive business, or businesses as it were. The first shop my dad owned was in Lima- Hummel Auto repair. He owned it for years, but then one day my dad helped out this customer, this up and coming entrepreneur. When his car needed more than what my dads little shop did then. My dad went completely out of his way to help the guy out. He's just that type of person..."
Blaine didn't miss how Kurt's expression lit up at the thought of his father. He sunk in a little deeper into the couch and listened to Kurt go on about how his dads business shot off after that. The guy, his name was Carl Burgstom, had not forgotten Burt's -that was Kurt's fathers name- kindnesses towards him. He had appreciated his work ethic so much that he invested in Hummel Auto and the rest was history. He now owned 10 shops across the US and Kurt explained how he wasn't yet, but mostly acted as co-owner. That he traveled, for this or that, for the company and that he was good at it. -Kurt seemed like he'd be good at just about anything he'd ever tried. He told Blaine the money was good and he liked the traveling part of the job the best, unlike his father who mostly hated it, so that worked out well.
But then, Kurt shared something that had Blaine sitting up straighter in his seat. Kurt's true passions were preforming and fashion design! He elaborated on how he had tried to make it on stage in New York, right out of high school, to no avail. It was there he landed an internship at Vogue because of his talent in fashion design. He had only returned to Ohio to help his dad after his cardiologist advised he slow down. During that transition his dad helped Kurt get a little studio of his own and invested in his Kurt's very own line. K designs as it were. That was were Kurt enjoyed spending most of his time. He poured his heart into the studio and was able to benefit from some of his connections from working at Vogue. Anyone that saw Kurt talk about his fashion would undoubtedly know that that was Kurt's true passion. Kurt looked so happy to share all about K designs with Blaine. He still held on to the fear of failing, his designs weren't anywhere near where he'd hoped to take them, but he was invested and believed if he continued to work hard he'd succeed in dressing the rich and famous for the red carpet. Blaine couldn't get enough of this side of Kurt. He slid in a little bit closer, being drawn in by his enthusiasm. He could help but smile, it was contagious.
They continued their easy back and forth, Blaine encouraging Kurt with his interest and dilated pupils when Kurt told him of his very own K seamless soft cotton briefs he's been working. He was just certain Blaine would look best in the dark maroon pair he'd been designing. That was when Kurt's phone buzzed alerting him of an incoming text.
Hey Kurt, can we call?
Kurt stared at the message on his screen. Why did it feel like such an invasion? It's true that he'd been enjoying the intimacy of he and Blaine's talk, but was he really that selfish of Blaine's attention that he couldn't share, like a petulant child? No, there was more to it than that. There was no denying the intrusion bothered Kurt, though. Wes was obviously texting about Blaine, wanting to connect with him. Asking Kurt if they could and expecting him to yes. He was sure at least some of the other Warblers were with him, indicating the 'we' part in his text. He'd hoped they would've given him just a little bit more time. He hadn't even explained anything to Blaine. And why that was, Kurt hadn't figured that part out just yet. Why did he feel such trepidation about sharing how he came to own Blaine? He couldn't be that covetous now, could he? No, he was sure there was something more.
Kurt kept spinning things in his head when he caught Blaine's slightly concerned, but patient look. He didn't want to distract from the nice conversation they were having. They needed to get to know each other after-all, and the best way to do that was to spend time together- alone.
He pushed the little twinge of guilt that arose aside, typed out a reply and then he kissed Blaine thoroughly. Because he could. His phone wasn't removed from his pocket for the rest of the day.
After a make out session with Blaine in the early evening Kurt pulled his phone from his pocket. Their make out session had been really nice, the two of them had flirted back and forth all morning and throughout, discovering more about each other. Unlike The initial heat that came right after claiming Blaine with it's unrelenting need to be stoked; Kurt took things slower with an awareness of Blaine's growing comfort with him. Blaine had playfully grabbed his ass and Kurt made sure to map out every one of Blaine's ticklish spots. Its not that he didn't feel bad about blowing off Wes' attempt at a call. It wasn't like Kurt hadn't already kept them informed up until then- Informed to a degree, anyway. Just that morning, when he had headed into the office he had finally returned some of their awaiting text messages. Wes had left a text the day before asking how things were going. Kurt knew he was really asking how Blaine was doing with Kurt. Thad had sent him an email later that same day remarking on how sickeningly sweet Nick and Jeff's reunion had been and how they all couldn't wait to complete their small group of misfits by including their other missing member. Jeff had simply sent a selfie of him and Nick sitting together, heads leaning onto each other's. It had made Kurt smile. He had felt guilty about not responding sooner, but all his efforts and attention had gone towards Blaine up until then. Kurt wasn't complaining about the special brand of attention only Kurt could give Blaine though. Nope, Kurt definitely wasn't complaining one iota about any of that. He smirked to himself then righted his train of thought back onto Blaine's friends. He had hoped they'd understand, and he was pretty sure they might once he got the chance to explain to them. Things had just taken longer to get Blaine comfortable (hugged, kissed, petted) than had previously been anticipated. So, Kurt had settled on replying to Wes' text that morning. 'Things are going well, just been getting Blaine settled in. I'm going to talk to him more about everything and then we'll set up a time for us all to get together. I got Thad's email and Jeff's pic too. :) Blaine seems to be adjusting well. We're just getting to know each other. I really like him. Text you soon.'
He had 'liked' the picture Jeff had sent and let Thad's email sit showing read. He figured Wes would fill all of them in on what was up.
But then Wes had to push again. The Warblers were only doing what Kurt should expectant he knew that. But he wasn't ready then and he wasn't ready now. He had been trying to figure out himself what he and Blaine were building between each other. The things he had discovered up until then weren't necessarily easy things to share. Because he himself couldn't get his head wrapped around everything how could he expect anyone else to?
Blaine's contented sigh, reverberating off of Kurt's shoulder, pulled Kurt out from his internal dilemma. He cuddled Blaine closer enjoying the warmth it provided his entire left side. Kurt was learning that this was typical of Blaine after being intimate. He would need time to bask in the after glow. Kurt would wait for Blaine to slowly but surely come back to himself. He began assuming it had something to do with Subspace he'd heard a little about through conversations mostly overheard amongst Masters discussing their Sub's experiences. The knowledge that Kurt had the power and influence over another's body to bring about such a reaction both frightened and excited him. Even then, it caused butterflies to rise in his stomach laying there next to Blaine. As if on cue Blaine reached softly over and rubbed Kurt's tummy with spayed fingers and a warm palm. And damn if those butterflies didn't make a beeline straight to Kurt's heart where they stayed and fluttered around awhile. Neither seemed eager to end this shared feeling of contentment and neither said anything for fear of shattering the warm bubble they created and basked in together.
Knock knock knock
The sound reverberated off the walls seeming a monstrous sound in the otherwise silent house. Kurt jumped slightly but Blaine stayed limp and pliable at his side. His senses peaked and his ears tuned in fully listening for anything coming after the initial interruption. He was able to make out the rumblings of voices from his front landing. Kurt figured quickly that it was most likely the Warblers at his front door, eager to see Blaine and tired of waiting on Kurt to arrange their meeting. He wiggled out from underneath Blaine careful to not jostle him to abruptly. He felt his heart speed up in his chest as he looked down at Blaine and the thought of not wanting anything or anyone to impede them from where this whole new relationship had been taking them. Kurt's mind supplied him a possible escape from his fears offering the idea that maybe it was just a group of Jehovah witnesses come to call at his front door instead of the group of boys Kurt would need to answer to and try to explain how he ended up taking their friend as his Submissive. He readied himself to go downstairs throwing on his lounge pants and a tshirt As he descended the stairs he thought he'd probably have a better chance in a discussion with the Jehovah witnesses. He really just wanted to run back up the stairs and back into the bubble he and Blaine had shared. But instead he's took in deep breath and opened the large front door.
There on his stoop were only three of the Warblers. Wes was the first to speak. "Hi Kurt, we hope we're not disturbing you to much" he leaned in looking around Kurt into the house obviously searching for a glimpse Blaine. "But, we thought we'd check again with you to see if there's anyway we could see Blaine. We had hoped to have seen him by now and embrace him back into our fold." Wes spoke surely and as if Kurt should already completely understood their desire. After all they had waited an entire tireless year to see him again. Thad squeezed himself in close next to Wes in the doorway. He half addressed Kurt and half addressed the empty foyer of Kurt's home. "It's just the three of us. Where is our little Blaine Warbler?" Wes, Thad and David had become known to Kurt as pretty much the front runners of their club. He'd gotten to know Wes the most out of the three but liked them all equally from the time he'd spent with them helping to secure the purchases of Nick and Blaine. David didn't feel the need to push himself towards Kurt to emphasize his need to see his friend, but stood behind. "It would mean so much to me, to us, to see him now Kurt." David's face wasn't hiding any of the emotion Kurt believed he might have been trying to conceal. Kurt had been told that David and Blaine had been close friends and quite the pair at Dalton. He couldn't deny the boys another night without their friend, though it was a hard decision not to first make sure Blaine was ready for the intrusion to their little world that Kurt so wanted to keep free from the uncertainties the rest of the world would undoubtedly bring with it. Wes ended their plea agreeing with David. "Yes, please Kurt. Anytime he could spare would be great." To that Kurt stepped aside and invited the boys in. Thad jumped at the chance and barreled his way past Wes reaching out and touching Kurt's shoulder in a quick thanks. Wes and David entered much more subdued but offered polite smiles through expectant eyes. They'd all been to Kurt's home more than enough times for it to feel new to any one of them, but there was something different this time with the excitement of knowing Blaine was there and that all their planning and hard work had led to this. They were going to see their fellow Warbler and good friend again!
Kurt was in the middle of saying Blaine was upstairs and that he was going to go grab him when he was interrupted.
"Blaine!" David's subdued composure dropped to the floor as he hurried himself to the bottom of the stairs where Blaine stood at the top surveying the scene bellow him. It took only seconds for both the other boys to join David, all three shouting up their greetings to Blaine. Blaine could only stare at his old club members. They were dressed in their warbler uniforms looking all dapper, as he once had side by side with them. To Blaine, that seemed a lifetime ago. His brain had trouble completely understanding what he was witnessing below him. Wes was beckoning Blaine down to join them. Blaine tentatively took the first few steps down with the loudest encouragement coming from David. Thad became impatient and he skipped up halfway meeting Blaine there. Thad grabbed a hold of his arm to help him down at a more Thad-acceptable-speed when Blaine's eyes shot open at his touch and he searched for Kurt. Where was Kurt? Kurt was nearer the front entry. He had stepped back out of the way of the boys excited reuniting at the stairs. He had his eyes on Blaine from the moment he rounded at David's cry of "Blaine!" He was surveying his face and hoping to catch his eye for the last few minutes. He wanted to rush forward when he sensed Blaine's uncertainty but Thad had bounded up the stairs so, Kurt just stood there shell shocked that this was happening now in their very home and he hadn't even explained to Blaine how he knew his friends yet.
When Blaine found Kurt's eyes he visibly relaxed and let Thad pull him the rest of the way down the stairs into the arms of his awaiting friends. Kurt smiled reassuringly at Blaine as he relaxed further into their embraces. There were 'missed yous' shared first by the three uniformed Warblers and then tentatively by Blaine. Wes started asking Blaine about how he was and how he felt and Blaine had zero idea on how to answer such unexpected questions from the very unexpected group of friends in front of him. He'd look at them and smiled then searched again for Kurt's approving eyes. Always feeling best knowing his master was there. It was hard not to get caught up in the excited energy of the three boys and before Blaine new it he was being whisked away into the adjoining living room and sat down between Thad and David. Wes and Kurt stood back a ways, now under the arch leading into the living room. Wes asked under his breath about how Blaine was really adjusting and if Kurt had picked up on any thing that Blaine might be struggling with after what he had to endure through the training at the Subhouse. He asked if there was anything he felt Blaine might need that Wes could get for him or do for him. Kurt kept his eyes on the three on the couch but wasn't listening to them during his and Wes' private little chat. Kurt was pulled. He wanted to go straight to Blaine and sit with him. He wanted to not just sit with him, he wanted to hear what was being said but also felt they deserved a private visit of their own. He felt afloat with all the fan fair around them. He wanted to pull Blaine into his lap so no one could get to him without having to go through Kurt first. But these were Blaine's friends and Kurt wouldn't even know Blaine if it hadn't been for them and their desire to get Blaine back. Wes was still talking low to him, keeping them back from the other boys and what Wes was proposing was not sitting well with Kurt. Kurt's heart knew he meant well, he was offering to do whatever he could to help. But what Kurt heard was the offering to take care of his Sub. Kurt didn't need help taking care of Blaine. That was his job. Kurt's job as Blaine's Master.
"Well, yeah. That's how Kurt knew your name." Kurt overheard Thad say in the conversation coming from the couch.
Kurt had just reassured Wes that he believed Blaine was adjusting well to living with him and that he appreciated Wes' offers to help.
But, then Blaine went pale.
"You ok? Blaine?" David sounded concerned and it caught both Kurt and Wes' attention from across the room. Blaine's eyes had fallen to the ground and he just sat there like that when Wes and Kurt joined them. "What happened?" Kurt and Wes asked nearly simultaneously. Wes was really starting to get on Kurt's nerves. Thad explained that they were just filling Blaine in on how they got to know Kurt through the media coverage that they got over their campaigning and how Kurt stepped up with all he was able to do. Blaine seemed to just start understanding what we were explaining when he went all pale and..." he motioned to Blaine's posture "...this." Kurt looked at David and told him to go get Blaine some water from the kitchen. Wanting nothing more but to help, David jumped right up to get that. Kurt thanked him and Wes beat Kurt to the open seat next to Blaine. He put his arm around Blaine and told him water was coming for him. Kurt stood dumbfounded not sure what he should do next. He felt adrift when it came to Blaine like no other time since owning him. He felt some of his dominance and need to be the one caring for Blaine had been taken from him and it left Kurt in a strange limbo between crying and wanting to physically remove the other boys surrounding his Sub. HIS Sub! Before Kurt could make any decisions David was back with the glass of water and tried to get Blaine to take it. Blaine only stayed exactly where he sat, head down and breathing ragged. Wes was rubbing circles on Blaine's back trying to get him to look up. Thad then said "I wonder if he gets like this often?" Wes hummed and said he hoped not, but maybe it was just going to take Blaine awhile to feel comfortable. David then reminded Blaine that they're all there for him and continued sharing his thoughts on how he believed that it might be entirely possible that it would be harder for Blaine because Nick had Jeff. And because Nick had Jeff's help as his Dom it must be helping Nick recover faster than Blaine was.
That was it. Kurt had heard enough. Blaine had been fine in Kurt's care. Better than fine really. Sure Kurt understood there would be things Blaine would go through because of that horrible place he had to endure for a year but Blaine was not broken. He was not an utterly damaged Sub. On the contrary, He had been wonderful in understanding what Kurt wanted and had been strong and trusting. He had seemed more than open to Kurt and he was sure that the two of them were well on their way to figuring out how to move Blaine forward. This shut down of Blaine's only occurred after Kurt pulled himself back to allow room for Blaine with his friends. Even though they had just shown up at his door, Kurt understood they had a years worth of time to make up for. They had all worked so hard, so diligently, on getting their friends back into their fold. Kurt didn't do it by himself. They deserved the opportunity to reconnect with each other.
"Listen..." Kurt interrupts Wes as he was proposing that they get Blaine to lay down on the couch. "Blaine was doing fine, with very little signs of distress and zero episodes such as this before tonight." The boys stopped and stared at Kurt. His tone of voice demanded attention. Kurt pulled the coffee table back and stepped directly in front of Blaine. "Blaine, I want you to drink your water." Blaine almost immediately reached for the cup but he didn't raise his eyes to Kurt's. "I'm going to show the boys out now and they'll be back to see you whenever you're ready to visit again." Blaine sipped his water and nodded to the floor. Kurt thought that the longer this took the longer it was going to take getting Blaine back to talking openly with him.
"I'm sorry but Blaine and I will call you soon, let me see you out. Now."
Kurt could see that they wanted to protest, especially Wes, but instead they shared a knowing look between them that must of settled somewhere between begrudgingly leaving and quietly agreeing because they all said a quick goodbye to Blaine and walked with Kurt to the door. There Kurt said a polite goodbye and reassured them that he would do everything to help Blaine and shut the door softly behind them.
It was quite then and Blaine was better able to concentrate on what he'd been trying to understand. When Thad had asked Blaine if he had wondered how Kurt would have known his name if it hadn't been because he was told of Blaine before the day he was auctioned off, Blaine realized he hadn't thought about that before. He guessed he had just sort of assumed it said something on the sub house paperwork. But, now that Blaine really thought about it, that wouldn't have made much sense at all, now would it? The house wouldn't have supplied anything but his sub house number to any buyer. Blaine felt foolish for not questioning this sooner. But in his own defense he had been just a little bit preoccupied.
So, as it stood then, Kurt had learned about him in the articles that were written about the preppy school group fighting to raise the funds to buy their friends at auction. Kurt had reached out to see how he could help the group and found the best way to do that was to purchase Blaine with his own money, so to allow for other collected monies to be used to purchase Nick. They had raised money campaigning for donations that could be used by Jeff to purchase Nick. Kurt had purchased Blaine to help the Warblers with their plight for Blaine as well.
Blaine's head began to hurt. And he heard Kurt coming back from the foyer.
Head down but with a belly full of water he still pondered 'Let's get this straight, Kurt only wanted to help. He had befriended his Warbler friends and they, together, had formulated the plan. This plan that he just learned about- Just now.
Blaine's stomach started to ache. And it wasn't the water causing it.
Kurt, with his friends, had all wanted Nick and Blaine to have as much of their former lives back and Kurt got pulled in on helping them with that. He leaned forward and cradled his head in his hands. He thought his head felt warmer than it should. How could this be? He was just getting use to the idea of living with Kurt, just as they had been the last few days. He had become more than comfortable with the idea of Kurt as his Master and had believed Kurt had wanted that role. But now... if what they've told him was true, where did that leave him? Where did that leave them?
What was Blaine to do? He was caught in between confusion and disbelief. He had trusted Kurt. He still trusted Kurt. But, how much was he suppose to trust to Kurt? Was he expected to make the decision on where to pick up in his life from here on his own? Had Kurt handed him over to be his own free agent, or to the Warblers? Did Kurt not want to decide what was best for Blaine and would rather wash his hands of the whole thing now that Kurt's part in the plan had been carried out? Well, to an extent anyway. He was still entangled in the legalities of it all. Blaine wondered if that was really as far as Kurt intended to take him now. Maybe the responsibility over Blaine wasn't part of the deal anymore. Did Kurt ask himself what in the world he got himself caught up into? Did he not like the pressures from whom he had got caught up with? Had Blaine been to much? To much for the man who had taken a leap head first into helping.
Kurt stood back and watched Blaine cradle his head in his hands. He could tell he was struggling. Kurt wanted nothing more to say exactly the right thing to Blaine just then.
Blaine felt Kurt's eyes on him. He wanted the hamster in his mind to get off the wheel but it seemed it was hell bent on running it's never ending marathon to nowhere. It was caught in a circular vortex of questions and uncertainties. Blaine's concerns were leading him into a dark abyss with no end. Blaine longed for his Master's press of the hand to guide him into the light.
"Blaine, I'm going to run you a bath and I'll be back down for you. We can talk after you relax in the bath for awhile." Kurt stood by Blaine a couple more seconds before he saw Blaine's nod of his head in agreement.
After Blaine had dressed in the pajamas Kurt laid out for him he made his way slowly downstairs again to find Kurt. His heart was still aching and he really just didn't have any idea what to do or say.
Kurt saw him coming and his heart pounded in his chest from the anticipation of waiting for him to return so they could talk. Because of the space he had given Blaine with his friends he was uncertain what Blaine might have discussed with them. And without being prepared for their visit in the first place it had just been all to much to soon for Kurt and he wanted to tell Blaine so. He invited Blaine over to his bar seat and contemplated pulling him into a hug but figured he'd try to explain how he had wanted more time but they showed up unexpected. He had Blaine's attention as he spoke but there was something behind his eyes that showed he didn't yet have his understanding. He explained how he was going to tell Blaine everything but something that he couldn't put his finger on prevented him from doing so up until then. That was met by a silent glare from Blaine. So Kurt tried again, explaining further when they showed up how he couldn't send them away so, he gave Blaine his space to be with them so he could feel normal.
Blaine listened but what was explained to him did little to alleviate his fears. Actually he began to fume even more. Kurt noticed the aggravation grow in the lines on Blaine's forehead.
"Talk to me Blaine. Tell me what your thinking." That was like giving permission to the pushing of a control switch to blow the whole thing wide open. Not unlike a collapsing damn and the wake of destruction in its wake.
"Normal? Nothing is normal to me, Kurt! How could any of that feel normal to me? I'm no longer a kid before labeling, I'm not even an Unlabeled. I'm no longer the starry eyed teen with dreams of Stardom and a song on his lips. I'm a Sub, a labeled Sub. A. Trained. Sub. Me- who I was then and who I am now, my entire identity, has changed. The only personify of all the Warblers that can even come close to understanding how I feel is Nick. But, at least Nick has Jeff helping him!"
"Well, you have all them too.."
"It's not the same." Blaine interrupted.
"But, they've all made it a priority to help you. I've made it a priority to help you. Why do you seem so mad?
"Really, Kurt? You..., Ugh. A Priority?" Blaine scoffed and shook his head.
Kurt wilted into himself. What in the Sam Hill was Blaine going on about? What was he so obviously aggravated with him about? He only wanted to help Blaine.
"Blaine..." He began softly, stepping towards him. "...if you would just explain it to me..."
"I thought you being my Master was your priority!" Blaine interrupted.
It dawned on Kurt then. Blaine wanted to know where this left the two them, needed to know where he stood with Kurt. How could he have been so stupid, so blind, so lame a Master? He took a moment while Blaine fumed, throwing eye daggers in his direction, to look at their situation through these new set of lenses. Blaine was letting Kurt know he needed more than just his helping hand, he wanted more from him. Kurt had let Blaine down by not acting like he had been toward's Blaine. He hid when Blaine needed him to outshine everyone else in that room. Blaine had expected a proud Dom and Kurt gave him a scared and uncertain fool. He had pushed his instincts aside so to not have given any reason to been called out. If Kurt ever wanted Blaine to be proud of what they have between them, what he hoped to build apon, then he needed to stop hiding behind the veil of protecting Blaine's right to his own life and stand up for their relationship as it had developed instead. He never wanted Blaine to feel that he was just given a hand out and that there was any chance that it could end there. If there was ever such a time to be an attentive, secure Dom, now was that time.
"I'm sorry, Blaine."
Daggers.
"Please give me the chance to explain."
"Go ahead. I'm listening..." Daggers and a shrug.
"I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable." -Wait, that wasn't the true weight of it. It's Truth time Hummel. "...And I didn't want to feel uncomfortable in front of all them.."
"Being next to me would make you uncomfortable... Humph. So you don't want to be seen with me?"
Breathe, Hummel.
"They'd all thought I was bringing you home to help you, to allow you to see your family and friends, to participate in activities with them. Not..." Kurt paused as if he was searching for the right words.
"Not to be my Master." Blaine finished on a breath with more than a hint of melancholy.
"Right, but.."
"But what? That would be uncomfortable for you?" Blaine stated more than asked.
"Blaine! That's not what I mean..."
"But it's what you did. It's what you just said. Unbelievable."
Oh no, he did not just say that. Kurt arched his back like an angry cat.
"You are out of line, Blaine."
Daggers, darts, spears, ninja swords.
"Am I?"
"Yes."
"And what are you going to do about it?"
Kurt hadn't thought about doing much more than explaining himself to Blaine, in the hopes of them coming to an understanding - up to that point. But now, standing there in the middle of his own dinning room, he was left with a disgruntled and disrespectful Submissive, mouthing off at him. It was taunting him to do something, anything to fix things.
He needed to flip the dynamic, turn the tide, set things right again. Blaine was getting pulled farther and father from him and his dominance when Blaine needed it the most. He decided just then exactly what he'd do about it.
"I'm going to spank you."
Blaine's eyes went wide, and there, dropped all their weapons to the floor.
Kurt had maneuvered himself into a stately upright sitting position on the couch as He had left Blaine and Blaine's mind to catch up.
Kurt didn't even wait for him to raise his head.
"Come here."
Blaine's body thrummed at the command and he went warm all over. He obeyed and went and stood in front of Kurt. The pretense of a fighter was leaving him. Kurt didn't miss a beat. He reached out and pulled Blaine's pants down to his knees, underwear and all, in one fowl swoop. There was nothing said- No sound other than Blaine's hitched breath and it too died out quickly. There was no other external stimuli to pull either from this case. The situation had sorely gotten out of control earlier and it was time to begin righting it.
Kurt tugged on Blaine's arm. It was a silent command to lay over his lap. Blaine was pliable and went willingly.
Blaine needed that.
Blaine needed this!
Kurt helped position him, and when he was satisfied he gently laid a hand on Blaine's bare butt.
Blaine didn't dare move.
Kurt waited. He felt Blaine's anticipation so tangible it made his own heart race. In contrast, he picked up on Blaine's complete lack of struggle. The battle Blaine had been fighting, in vein, had been obliterated now. Kurt was going to win the war, as he should.
Kurt circled his palm over Blaines perk cheek. "Mine." He reminded Blaine. He trailed his hand over Blaine's other cheek and pet over the soft sensitive skin there. "Mine." He reminded him again.
Blaine's mind went to mush.
Kurt landed the first of his assault smack-dab on the middle of Blaine's ass. The shock started Blaine and he bounced in Kurt's lap. Kurt rubbed over the tinged outline of his handprint left over Blaine's cheeks.
This was good.
He landed another over the first.
Exactly what he needed.
Blaine let himself drift on the sensations Kurt's spankings were eliciting.
One, two stinging swats in a row.
Blaine was beginning to understand. Kurt hadn't handed him off to his friends because he didn't want to be his Master. He hadn't mislead him into believing a lie. Kurt was still then what he was now, his Dominant. Kurt had quite literally taken back his command by his own hands.
Completely warranted.
Blaine understood then. Earlier, Kurt had witnessed the crashing waves of doubt that were overtaking Blaine. He had had doubts of his own that swelled and crashed, swelled and crashed and had almost been pulled under himself. He had fought against the waves and still offered himself up as a life preserver. He had swam after Blaine to rescue them from the sea of uncertainty.
Then, he guided them into safe Harbor.
One final hand fell, then Blaine was being lifted up into Kurt's arms. They had both begun to shed tears at one point or another but neither knew exactly when. It was a good washing of their minds, clearing away most of the underlying fears that caused the discord between them. The anxiety was left shed, replaced by the security of their roles being righted. Kurt held Blaine.
And it was good, and needed, and totally warranted.
