Rin had picked out two uniforms her size. When she left the Captain's office, she was met outside by Nakashima, who was already wearing his. His long legs were encased in tight leggings, simple flat ankle boots on his feet. He had a black sleeveless second skin shirt with a high neck. Rin took a second to appreciate his lithe runners build before grinning at him.

"So I'm stuck with you, slowpoke." She greeted.

"Shut up and get over here, dimwit." He opened his arms and Rin walked forward to accept a hug. They had never embraced before, their rivalry always in the way of friendly affection, so their contact was quick and awkward. Rin stepped back to look up at the taller man. "Come on, I'll show you where we're staying."

They walked to the barracks, on the side where the unseated officers lived. They would be sharing a small room, one futon folded on each side of the room, and a wooden dresser with four drawers. Nakashima told her she had the bottom two. After congratulating her, he left her to change into her new uniform.

Rin looked pridefully at the fabric in her hands. Shrugging off her clothes, she donned the sleeveless leotard, gleefully noticing it had left her upper back exposed. Her spider tattoo was partially covered by the high turtle neck, but she didn't mind. Long black leggings hugged her legs. The uniform went well with her dislike for carrying her sword at her hip, and she shivered pleasantly at the feel of Chihari's sheath against her bare skin, making her feel safer. She had left her boots by the door. Exiting and spreading her arms to Nakashima, who nodded approvingly. Rin held up her fist to him, and he bumped it with his own. The motion was natural to them, as if they had been greeting each other for years like this.

They grinned. Despite their rivalry, they really were a good match.

Rin was too excited to finish her assignment right now, so she decided to pay her brother a visit. Maybe she could move a few of her things from his room to her own.

"Yumi-nii!" Rin shouted as soon as she spotted him sparring with another officer. He had been holding back for the sake of training the man, but at hearing his sister nearly shriek for him, his brotherly instincts kicked in and he brutally slashed at his opponent, throwing him back effortlessly and snapping his head to where his sister was walking towards him, sword at the ready, eyes looking for danger. He relaxed as soon as he saw her smile. "Yumi-nii, I did it!" She began to run. Well practiced in her antics, he swiftly sheathed his sword and spread his arms, catching her as she leapt into his arms. Her squeals and laughter were incoherent, so he just held her, relishing in his sister's happiness.

"My dear, what makes you so radiant?" He put her down when she finally calmed and stopped squeezing his neck with her arms. He studied her as she spread her arms and twirled on the spot, showing off her uniform. "Oh, my sweet, darling sister, I'm so proud of you!" He took her face in his hands and kissed her forehead. He led them away from the training ground, completely ignoring his previous sparring partner and the two fourth division members hovering over the man, and led her over to where Ikkaku was barking instructions to a group of new officers. His friend turned at their approach and looked Rin up and down, a toothy grin spreading over his face to match Rin's.

"I knew you'd make it, Rin. Congratulations." He wrapped his arm around the excitedly bouncing woman, who eagerly returned his embrace. "You look good." His grin turned just a touch lecherous, leading Yumichika to rip Rin away from him. "What? she does!" He turned to the newcomers who took his momentary distraction as a chance to catch their breath. "Doesn't she, men?" He turned to the men. Straggled and confused 'yes sir's echoed around the group. "Who told you to stop? 200 suburi, now!" He barked, tapping his sword on his shoulder. "Anyone comes near her, you'll answer to the Onmitsukido, is that understood?"

"Yes sir!" they shouted.

"And if that doesn't scare you, let it be known that she is fifth seat Ayasegawa's sister. Faster, you pussies! Are you training kendo or fanning yourselves, you damn princesses?" Rin shook her head and left with her brother. They knew not to interrupt his fun bullying the newcomers.

"So, tomorrow." Yumichika held her hand in the crook of his arm as they walked to his quarters. "I have a reservation at a nice restaurant, for just the two of us. Wear something nice." Rin nodded and opened her drawer, taking half of the things there, deciding to leave some clothing for when she stayed over. They talked and laughed together as Rin led them to second division, and to where she would be staying. Yumichika looked around her room, remarking on the blandness, and taking it upon himself to decorate it.

"Yumi-nii, I'm sharing a room with Nakashima. You can't just up and change everything without his consent." Rin finished putting her things in her drawer.

"I suppose." her brother sighed dejectedly. "Though the division is very luxurious." He nodded his approval.

"Of course it is!" A voice came from the doorway. "After all, it's been renovated by my family!" Rin looked around her brother to spot Lieutenant Oomaeda.

"Lieutenant Oomaeda!" Rin bowed.

"Welcome to the division, Ayasegawa." He munched around a cookie. "I trust you're settling in nicely?"

"Thank you, Lieutenant. Yes I am. This is my brother, I was just showing him around." Rin introduced them.

"Nice to meet you, Fifth Seat Ayasegawa." Lieutenant Oomaeda nodded. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to come to me. Otherwise, I'll see you Monday, bright and early for training." Rin smiled and bowed, thanking her Lieutenant as he turned and left, leaving a trail of crumbs behind, much to her brother's disgust.

"Hey, shorty." Nakashima crossed paths with them as they were leaving.

"What?" Rin was still too happy to think of a prickly insult for her partner.

"Did you know we can use the hot springs in the division?" He grinned, not slowing his pace. "I'm getting a few good soaks before we start training."

"Where are the hot springs?" Rin called after him.

"Figure it out for yourself!" Came his muffled reply from inside their room. Rin scoffed, but turned to walk her brother to the gates.

"You're gonna do great, Rin." Yumichika kissed her forehead one more time before turning and leaving. Rin stretched her arms above her head and soaked in the sun and happiness, pleased to feel a wider range of movements in a uniform without sleeves.

"Alright, let's finish this." She muttered to herself and hopped onto the roof. She still had first, third, and thirteenth division to finish her punishment, and decided to start with the most difficult.

First division was as usual bustling with people on official business, and she made her way up to the Head Captain's office, carefully approaching. She could feel the ancient man sitting by his desk, and lay stomach down on the roof to peek over the edge of the roof. As soon as she was upside down, her eyes carefully scanning the large office, her hand holding on to her ponytail so it wouldn't dangle, she felt an oppressive amount of reiatsu.

Unable to sit up, much less stand, Rin slowly lost her grip on the roof and tumbled down, falling in a heap on the balcony. A thunderous voice made her tremble.

"What do you think you are doing, girl?" The Head Captain hadn't even moved from his seat. Rin gasped, but was only able to turn her head to look at him, still being pushed down by his reiatsu. He lightened it enough for her to sit up, panting and sweating. "Answer me!"

"My sincerest apologies, Head Captain Yamamoto!" Rin rested her fists on the floor in front of her knees and bowed her head, mostly to apologize, partly to support her heavy body. She quickly explained her predicament and listened to his silence.

"I've read reports about you from second division. Did you pass your interview?" His reiatsu calmed, but Rin was still shaking.

"Yes sir!" Rin nodded, but still kept her head down.

"Come get your documents, girl." Rin heard the shuffling of paper and looked up at him holding it out to her. She stood on jelly legs and approached his desk. "You're off to a good start, girl, but don't think so highly of yourself to become overconfident. I expect to receive good reports on your performance. Train hard." He was so intimidating, Rin couldn't help her hand shaking as she took the papers from him, but she met his gaze with her own wide eyed stare as she answered.

"Yes, sir."

"Holy fucking shit, that was terrifying!" Rin slid down the wall to sit on the floor as soon as she was far enough away from first division and closed her eyes.

"What was terrifying?" Rin was proud for having successfully swallowed her shriek, but her body still twitched violently at being startled. Snapping her eyes open, she looked up from her seat on the floor to see Captain Ichimaru leaning over her.

"Uh…" Rin just blinked at him.

"Are ya here fer yer papers?" His hand wrapped around her arm and he pulled her up. "Thought ya were supposed ta be sneakin' around."

"I-I was resting." Rin answered lamely and pulled her arm away.

"Well, come on, then." Captain Ichimaru turned and walked north. Rin followed two steps behind him in silence until they arrived at his office. He opened the door and stood to the side. "Ladies first." His grin set off Rin's alarms, but she quietly thanked him and entered, immediately making a beeline for his desk.

She could see the papers, and reached out, only for a cold shiver to go through her body as she heard the door close. Before she could turn, a warm body pressed against her back, two long, pale hands resting on either side of her on the desk. Captain Ichimaru was leaning over her much smaller body, trapping her against his desk by pressing his hips to her backside.

"Ya didn't even come fer an interview and already got accepted into second division?" His voice was full of mock hurt. "The uniform suits ya." His left hand slid over her arm to touch her tattoo. Rin suppressed a shudder of disgust as his breath fanned over her ear. "Ya got any more of these pretty tattoos hidden under there?" The fingers on his right hand ran across the waistband of her leggings, slipping under the fabric.

"Captain, this is inappropriate!" Rin struggled to slip away, but his hands gripped her hip and spun her around to face him, his grin still in place as he licked his lips.

"I don't see how. Yer not doin' anything ta buy a place in my squad." This close to him, Rin could see his light blue eyes roaming her. "Just some fun." His head dipped to nibble her jaw, even though Rin Was leaning as far away as she could. She gritted her teeth as his hands slid up her waist to the sides of her breasts, his thumbs slipping under the fabric, inching closer to her nipples.

"I can't disrespect Rangiku like this!" Rin dropped the papers and grabbed his wrists, pulling them away from her body. "And I'm not attracted to you, Captain. Please be professional." Rin watched his grin turn down into a frown as he leaned back.

"Yer a perfect fit in second division, ain'tcha?" He stepped back and watched her scramble to collect the dropped papers and rush out.

Rin wanted to throw herself in Captain Ukitake's koi pond to wash the touch of that disgusting man off her. She was barely containing her reiatsu, even with the help of a very agitated Chihari, and took a few moments to watch the fish lazing just under the water surface.

"You look troubled." Rin cursed herself for being startled once again. Releasing the railing from her iron grip and turning, she came face to hairy chest with Captain Kouraku.

"Captain Kyouraku." Rin took a deep breath to steady herself. "Thank you for your concern, but I'm fine. Excuse me."

"I'm sorry if my note offended you." He called after her. Rin turned, frowning in confusion before she remembered, a blush creeping up her neck.

"Not at all, Captain. I'm the one who should be apologizing for sneaking into your office." She bowed.

"Ah, there's no need for that. It was such a pleasant surprise." He waved her apology away, looking at her. "So, you're from second division?"

"Just started today." Rin smiled.

"So you're the poor soul that got caught at the Kuchiki manor?" He approached her. His hands remained in his sleeves, so Rin wasn't so spooked by his closeness.

"You've heard, huh?" Rin adjusted her turtleneck. "Captain Ukitake is my last stop before I have to report to Captain Kuchiki."

"Well, then enjoy your last days off before starting training on Monday. I heard Soi Fon is very strict." He smiled warmly. "If you ever want to play hooky, come by eighth division, provided we don't get caught by Nanao-chan." His voice deepened and a hint of a fire lit in his eyes as he looked her over.

"I just might, Captain." Rin let a slow smile spread over her lips as she tilted her head, studying the stubble on his chin. "Excuse me." She respectfully bowed (he was a Captain, after all) but made sure to let her hips swing a little looser as she sashayed away. When she heard the appreciative hum she was fishing for, she shunpoed out of sight to Captain Ukitake's roof. The office was empty again, but her documents were signed on the desk, as if waiting for her. Once again, she heard coughing coming from the other room, so she quietly grabbed what she needed and quickly returned to sixth division.

"As if my Lieutenant's tattoos weren't enough." was the greeting Captain Kuchiki threw at her when she appeared in his office in her new uniform, her tattoo catching the Captain's eye.

Rin opened her mouth, but had no idea what to respond, so she closed it again.

"Are you responsible for the hole in my Lieutenant's face as well?" he eyed the many ornaments hanging from her ears.

Rin blinked in shock at the sudden question. Captain Kuchiki was a calm and collected man, so his near outburst had Rin stuttering for words.

"I-um...Yes, I suppose I am, Captain." She stood straight trying to regain her composure.

"I suppose it can't be helped." He took the papers from her hands. "Please refrain from further mutilating my squad."

"Yes sir." Rin bit back a smile.

"Your performance was unsurprisingly sloppy, you still have much to learn, and more training ahead of you than you can fit in a decade." He looked over the documents. Rin wasn't surprised, but was still crestfallen. "I suppose it is acceptable enough that you managed to bring back all of the documents correctly signed within the time limit." She accepted the backhanded compliment as she bowed and quietly thanked him. "Dismissed."

Leaving his office, she meandered to the training hall, looking for Renji. He was instructing some newcomers and turned when she tapped his back.

"Oh-ho! Look at you!" He held her hand and lifted it, turning Rin in a slow circle. "Don't you look fine?" his other hand wrapped around her waist, making it look like they were dancing. Rin looked up at him and eyed the ring on his grinning lip. Yeah, he looked really good with it, no matter how much his captain frowned upon it. Resting her other hand on his chest, Rin leaned on him and smirked.

"Where are we meeting tomorrow night?" She tucked a stray hair behind his ear as he released her hand to hug her loosely, roaming his eyes over her shoulder. "I wanna tell Matsumoto, she'll make sure everyone's present." Renji barked out a laugh and released her.

"Just tell her to choose a nice place, I trust her judgement." At Rin's raised eyebrow he clarified. "Her judgement in drinking establishments."

"Ah." Rin nodded and laughed. "I'll see you tomorrow." She waved and turned, freezing in her place as she spotted Captain Kuchiki standing by the door, watching them. She gulped and resumed her steps.

"You two are awfully close." He noted.

"Yeah, we're friends, Captain." Renji shrugged. He was used to his Captain's glare, but Rin felt a little guilty, even though she nodded to his statement. Captain Kuchiki stepped aside as Rin slipped away, heaving a sigh.
