Chapter 9.5 : Saturday Morning
Nishikata and takagi were still on the sofa, he opened his eyes
Nishikata : ( that's right…. We Fell asleep on the couch…) ( he pulled a remote from the table and switched off the TV)
Takagi : mhm….. ( she groaned under her breath) is it morning already?
Nishikata : seems like it ( he stretched his body while still on the sofa) I love Saturday and Sunday mornings…
Takagi : there isn't really any rush to wake up early is there… Let's stay like this longer… ( she snuggled up close to him)
Nishikata : ( he put he arm around her) if you really want that…
Takagi : ( she pulled him close and joined their foreheads…) it's so much fun… Living like this… ( she kissed him on his cheek) this is the happiest I've ever Been…
Nishikata : do you want to live with me?
Takagi : I do… But…. If I leave then Sumire and houjou will have to either leave the apartment and go the gossip hole that is the girls dorm or get a roommate ( she chuckled) and I don't think anyone can put up with their shenanigans..
Nishikata : I am technically their landlord… I could even arrange them to live free of charge if you ask me too…
Takagi : the school requires a register to know where each student lives off campus… it will be against to the rules to stay with you… So I'll have to stay downstairs… On paper atleast
Nishikata : then you can just say it's your address I mean… you'll be close enough…
Takagi : do you want me to stay with you…
Nishikata : and what if I do…
Takagi : then can you make the arrangements?
Nishikata : consider it done….. ( he put his hand through her hair) how is your hair always so soft ( his hand brushed on her cheeks) your skin too…
Takagi : I'll tell you if you come to the bath with me, it's that simple…
Nishikata : ……
Takagi : having some pervy thoughts?
Nishikata : maybe…
Takagi : then?
Nishikata : not yet…
Takagi : you're no fun… ( she rested back on the cushions) you know I always thought this scenario to play in the reverse order…
Nishikata : me too
Takagi : what did you imagine?
Nishikata : I don't remember much … ( he stroked through her hair) ( his eyes were getting heavier every second) just you…
Takagi : yuki?
Nishikata : ( his eyes were completely closed and he was sleeping soundly)
Takagi : didn't think he'd be out so fast (she noticed something silvery in his shirt) is that…
Takagi pulled out his part of the couple locket, the silver even though faded still glowed in the slightest of light… as if it was a piece of the moon itself
Takagi : this brings back so much memories…. ( she pulled out her part and connected them together to show the picture they had taken at the observatory with the comet ) that was by far the best day of my life…
Takagi looked at his wrist and a watch shone back at her
Takagi : this watch… Its the one I bought for him… I got it just before his growth spurt… It Barely fits him anyone… ( She check the watch which look well worn as if he wore it everyday) he kept his promise ( a huge blush appeared on her face)
Takagi then stared at his hands…
Takagi : yuki really got his muscles after middle school huh… ( she ran her finger up his hard) muscles…. ( then over his stomach and chest)... I should stop… ( never imagined I'd be the one to do it while he is asleep)
After regaining her composure
Takagi : his birthday is coming up…. I Could get him a new watch.. And should also get the lockets polished again… maybe even something else…. ( she gave him a kiss on the forehead and got up to start making some breakfast for both of them)
EXTRA SCENE : Dream
Two people were tied onto on a chair one man and one woman…
Man : you monster let us out of here!!!
Woman : please…. You've locked us in here for 3 days…
In front of them stood a little kid just over 5 years old…
Child : ( he just sat there wondering what he should do whilst eating some pizza he had order from the wallet of the tied up man) ( his body was covered in injuries and his clothes were tattered)
Woman : ( he hadn't given them a single thing to eat while they were tied up for 3 days) please… We're sorry for hitting you, we'll never do it again..
Child : I don't trust you uncle and aunt… ( he pulled out a piece of duct tape and and taped both of their mouths shut)
The adults squirmed helplessly in front of this child
Child : you're too loud… I just wanna eat my pizza ( he winced in pain from the injuries all over his body)
Man : (he tried to shout and tear open the tape and ropes)
The child stood up and pulled the tape off his mouth and the man shouted in rage and pain
Child : ( as the man was still wincing in pain the child grabbed an Iron nail from the ground with a stone)
Man : listen here you little- ( he stoped as he felt something on his forehead…)
Child : I told you to be quite didn't I? ( pointed the nail at his forehead)
Man : ( sweating profusely) look I'll get you all the toys you want ok just let us out of here ( just let me out of these ropes and I beat you up so bad you won't even attempt to talk back again)
Child :... Liar ( he lift the stone with his hand) I saw a carpenter in the kindergarten book yesterday… Wonder what will happen if this nail goes in your head
Man : ( he panicked) NO!!! PLEASE!!
Child : too late ( he position the nail on the man's forehead and prepare to use the rock as a hammer)
Man : NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
*THANG*
Amano shook awake in his bed in cold sweat
Amano : what in the holiest of fucks…. ( what was that nightmare…. So Realistic….)
Amano looked at himself, he was sweating just like the man in the dream…
Amano : ( was that kid….. No…) ( he got up to his bathroom and washed his face so as to not think about the dream to much..) that's right the school festival is coming I need to discuss with the rest of the student council..
Amano quickly got dressed and got on his motorcycle, and left for totomi high…
Chapter 10 : So Close Yet So Far
Takagi was calling Sumire while cooking breakfast for nishikata
Sumire : so you two finally decided to stop the excuses and live together, I better get a niece or nephew soon
Takagi : Sumire do you always have to do that
Sumire : of course I have to
Takagi : so what going on with your *AHEM* Homework?
Sumire : shut up Rie
Takagi : I was just joking
Sumire : well I need to go there again today
Takagi : hmm?
Sumire : his mansion is way too far from our apartment so I either had to stay there for the night again or I could come back early….
Takagi : you could've just stayed there I mean we did all stay over for night in his house
Sumire : I had my reasons… ( she didn't wanna stay too close to Mogami after her intense blush at the restaurant) what did you call me for
Takagi : I need some money…
Sumire : did you have a fight with the dork or something?
Takagi : no why do you ask?
Sumire : nishikata has all the money you could ever need and you're asking me?
Takagi : well you see I need to get him a gift for his birthday…
Sumire : and you can't have him pay for his own gift, I'm broke as fuck so you asked the wrong person
Takagi : so yeah…
Sumire : why don't you ask houjou?
Takagi : she doesn't have any ideas
Sumire : how much do you need?
Takagi : (she told the Amount) well?
Sumire : well you see the takagawa bakery negotiated a deal with the school to provide chocolate filled donuts to the school.. If you come to help us part time for a few days then maybe uncle can pay you
Takagi : didn't your dad own the bakery back home?
Sumire : my uncle owns a branch of the takagawa bakery in Tokyo but…..
Takagi : but?
Sumire : well… The last time he tried to raise money for you it didn't go so well did it…
Takagi : don't remind me for that
Sumire : we want to avoid any possible misunderstandings so tell him that your gonna raise money just don't tell him what you're getting him and we should fine, that's a condition ( I really felt bad for both of them the last time… Don't wanna feel bad again…)
Takagi : understood…
Nishikata also woke after a few minutes
Nishikata : good morning…
Takagi : good morning yuki, the breakfast is almost done…
Nishikata : what?
Takagi : I'll just get them on the table, you can brush your Teeth…
Nishikata : ( he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and by the time he came the food was already served) god I'm gonna enjoy this ( he said as he picked up his plate)
Takagi : so how does it taste?
Nishikata : I love it… your hands literally have magic
Takagi : ( blush) your so sweet ( he has become a lot more direct with the compliments since he returned and I love it)
Nishikata : say do you have any plans for today?
Takagi : not really
Nishikata : well I don't really wanna be bored….
Takagi : what did you do when you were bored while you were learning business anyway?
Nishikata : pretty sure I visited the casino with Shuichi a few times…
Takagi : ( she let out a disappointed sigh) out of all things you could do you decided to gamble…
Nishikata : I only went three times chill
Takagi : fair enough, anything else?
Nishikata : well I tried cuphead again… God it's too damn difficult ( you need so much practice and I can't play it regularly to build up skill)
Takagi : let's play again together like last time
Nishikata : good idea that's 1 and half hours of not being bored….
Takagi : one and half hour?
Nishikata : that game makes me rage I'm not playing it for more than one and half hour…
Takagi : ( she chuckled) as you wish
Nishikata : ( he finished the plate and takagi placed it in the dish washer)
Takagi : say… Yuki…. We Have the whole house to ourselves…
Nishikata : yeah…. We do…
Takagi : ( wrapped her hands around him) so what should we do now…
Nishikata : I don't know… ( resisting his urges)
Takagi : carry me
Nishikata : huh?
Takagi : carry me.
Nishikata : ( he lifted her up like a princess) ok… now what
Takagi : I don't I just wanted to be carried
Nishikata : fair enough
Takagi : (she clung to his body) why do you want to wait… it's just a few months… what difference will it make
Nishikata : I don't even know what's stopping me… But can you please just wait till then…
Takagi : not until I give a good effort to convince you
Nishikata : what ( he was cut off by Takagi kissing him deeply)
Takagi : ( she kissed him very hard while embracing him)
Nishikata : ( he was having trouble standing up so he crashed down on the sofa with takagi now in his lap) ( he was shocked at first but after getting his grips he starting kissing back)
Takagi : ( now in his lap she climbed onto him, she was so close that she could feel his heartbeat which was spiking up)
Nishikata : ( he felt something between his legs but chose to ignore it to better focus on the girl on top of him)
Takagi : ( she felt it too but decided to also ignore it as to not make him feel awkward) ( I can't make him think like I'm teasing him right now)
Nishikata : ( he started moving towards her neck)
Takagi : ( she stayed silent as nishikata kiss her neck)
They stayed like this making out on the couch
Nishikata : ( he wasn't thinking straight as if a drug had taken effect) ( his hand steadily reached her waist and her shorts)
Takagi : ( she felt his hand near her waist and froze) ( it's the farthest they had ever gone)
Nishikata : ( he opened the button on her shorts which hung loosely around her waist)
Takagi : ( she felt them slipping off) ( this is it…)
Nishikata was about to remove the shorts when something brought him to his senses
Nishikata : ( he quickly closed her shorts again) ( calm down.calm down. CALM THE FUCK DOWN)
Takagi : ( she was very disappointed) yuki.. Why….
Nishikata : I'm sorry….. ( that was way too fucking close I almost did it… Why am I resisting anyway)
Takagi : we were so close too…. ( she breathed a heavy sigh) at least I tried my best…. trying to force you when you wanted to wait…It was a mistake
Nishikata : sorry…
Takagi : ….
Nishikata : ( while she was still on his lap he hugged her and pulled her closer) Im sorry for being such a coward…
Takagi : promise me…
Nishikata : ( he kissed her cheek) what?
Takagi : after we're done waiting… No Excuses…
Nishikata : I promise… I won't give any excuses…
Takagi : ( I guess I'll just stick to waiting) ( she was disappointed that she failed tried to lighten the mood) since I am sitting in your lap like last time why don't you start the game
Nishikata : ( he smiled and kissed her cheeks again) of course honey…
Takagi :( she gave a weak smile) now don't over-act that much honey let's just play (better than nothing… At least I'll still enjoy this)
They started cuphead and played the game on co-op
Meanwhile
Sumire : ( she stood outside the door to the library) ( she couldn't understand why her heart was beating so fast so she took deep breaths to clam down) ( she slowly opened the door)
Mogami : is that you takagawa?
Sumire : it's me ( she slowly by him as the not disturb the carefully placed files and books)
Mogami : let's continue where we left yesterday in a bit but first er… whats your number?
Sumire : ( a bit flustered) ( that's random) why do want it?
Mogami : I'll send you a file, it's a report read it out to me
Sumire : well why don't you use your phone?
Mogami : I'll use it to view pictures of the crime scene
Sumire : just view them on the computer
Mogami : stop being so annoying doing it like this is faster
Sumire : ok… ( she gave him her number)
Mogami : I swear why can't she do as told…
Sumire : I can hear you ya know!!
When she got his file she had an idea
Sumire : (I remember Rie did something similar to nishikata back in middle school) why'd you send me this image?
Mogami : what image?
Sumire : ( she showed him her phone with the image of a model in bikinis) ( let's see how he reacts)
Mogami : ( he calmly stared at the phone for a second) it's not mine but send it to me later
Sumire : ( what the) what?
Mogami : I don't like softcore that much I'm more into hardcore but I like that picture send it to me later
Sumire : how the fuck did you just say that so casually?! To a girl no less?!
Mogami : ( his face was amused for a little while and then went back to stone cold) I was kidding now would mind actually reading the report
Sumire : you snobby…
Mogami : but really send that picture to me later
Sumire : it's enough!! ( he played me instead damn…) ( she read out the report)
After that he typed an email and sent it
Mogami : that's another case…
Sumire : ( I sometimes forget that he's a detective) so can we start now?
Mogami : sure let's just get the table
Sumire : do you spend all day here in the library?
Mogami : well…. At least when I'm solving cases
Sumire : and when you're not?
Mogami : well… I Can't even remember anymore….
Sumire : ( he did say he engrossed himself completely in cases to escape school) what did you do for relaxing or having fun
Mogami : I don't think I've ever… ( his expression suddenly became gloomy)
Sumire : ( she placed her finger and stopped him from talking) I understand sorry for making you sad…
Mogami : let's just finish the homework already
They both were studying, well it was mostly just Mogami teaching her
Sumire : finally… its over…
Mogami : good for you I guess..
Then suddenly the earth shook
Sumire : ( she screamed) ( an earthquake?!)
Mogami : ( he screamed louder and held onto Sumire for dear life)
Meanwhile for nishikata and takagi
Nishikata : ( they were just on the verge of killing a particularly difficult boss in cuphead when the earth shook) what the-
Takagi : YUKI!! ( she clung to him and he covered her as if to protect her)
Nishikata : ( few seconds later) it's fine it's over now
Takagi : thank god….
They both looked back the screen and a black screen with the words YOU DIED plastered with white stared back at them
Nishikata and takagi : FUCK IT ALL I'M DONE WITH THIS GAME!!!!!!!
Back to Mogami and sumire
Mogami : ( he was still holding onto her)
Sumire : ( he was really close and she was blushing) um Mogami? The earthquake is over
Mogami : …
Sumire : Mogami?
Mogami : T-taka-gawa…..
Sumire : ( he's shivering!!) what happened?!
Mogami : D-do you s-see my cane….
Sumire : your cane? ( she saw his cane under the table) wait just a sec
Mogami : ( he shivered and curled up into a ball)
Sumire : ( she pulled out his cane and handed it to him) there
Mogami : ( he hugged his cane for a few seconds and then calmed down and got up like normal) ….
Sumire : What the heck was that?
Mogami : can you please tell no one?
Sumire : oh… I see… ( since he is partially blind almost completely blind in low light he needs his cane…)
Mogami : ( he calmed down) looks like the earthquake was small…
Sumire : ( If you take his cane away he acts like a scared child…. That's his weakness…) its didn't last that long…
Mogami : …. ( he didn't really know what to say)
Sumire : ( wait a minute… Taking the cane away from him is like taking a wheel chair from a disabled person…. I can't do something as shitty as that…) don't worry I can keep secrets
Mogami : that's helpful to know…
Sumire : ( trying to find a subject to talk about to alleviate the awkwardness) so can I ask you something?
Mogami : sure
Sumire : why do you not use the honorifics with my name?
Mogami : well you don't use the honorifics for me either…
Sumire : I just do that because you do it, soo why?
Mogami : I like to mock you because you're annoying
Sumire : I was kind of expecting this conversation to not roll back to me being "annoying"
Mogami : ( he chuckled) since I was partly raised in Britain there everyone uses your first name and in Japan everyone uses last name with honorifics so I just combined the two….
Sumire : makes sense…
Mogami : but I also do it to mock you…
Sumire : of course… ( am I really that annoying bitch….)
Mogami : ( I think I went a bit too far then…) well you aren't just an annoying bitch…
Sumire : ( she braced herself for insults) ( she was never the best of people and she knew many people disliked her blunt nature)
Mogami : … I really admire you….
Time seemed to stop as she took the words in one at a time
Sumire : What? ( there was a prominent blush on her face now)
Mogami : ( he was too far away to notice the blush) I said i really admire you…
Sumire : are you joking? I mean you're one of the smartest people I know and you always call me annoying too, then how are you supposed to admire me?
Mogami : you are a bit special..
Sumire : (special?!)
Mogami : you have the ability to speak your mind, you don't let others push you around…
Sumire : huh?
Mogami : the ability to stand up for yourself, to stand for others if needed ( she tried to help me against the bullies even though we were 1 to 4) ( his stone poker face came of for a second or two…) these are qualities I will probably never have… I Really admire and respect you for that…
Sumire : ( she was now completely red) ( she doesn't normally notice her own blush but it was so powerful that even she noticed without a mirror, her normally pale skin was completely red) excuse me…. (she quickly rushed to the nearest bathroom to wash her face)
Mogami : guess I messed up… I'll apologise later ….
Sumire : ( she clenched her chest heart was beating very fast) ( calm down Sumire calm down….) ( she noticed her deep blush…) ( Do I really…. No… we've only known each other for like 2 months…)
After washing her face she came out and saw Mogami back on with his stone cold poker face
Mogami : I'm sorry… I am told I make things awkward…. ( he thought he offended her is some way)
Sumire : no it's fine… ( that was the most genuine and sincere compliment I have ever received I can't handle this)
Mogami : well I guess you should leave now…
Sumire : huh?
Mogami : I mean your apartment is pretty far from here right ( started to pick up books and stack them on the bookshelves again…)
Sumire : I can't just leave you like this, I'll help with the cleaning…
Mogami : you don't need to… ( he still felt like he'd offended her) how will you get back home?
Sumire : I guess I'll stay here tonight, ( she remembered how he said he hasn't had fun in a long time) let's go out somewhere tomorrow…
Mogami : tomorrow?
Sumire : it'll be fun I'll call Rie and nishikata too we can all have fun… ( I need to give something back for that compliment I can't get over) ( I've been told that I looked pretty and that's why I apparently get boys around me… I never really liked any back in middle school as everyone was only for looks… it didn't get any better here at Totomi… but this guy… He Doesn't have any idea if how I look he straight up calls me annoying… that's why his compliment means so much)
Mogami : I'll just be a bother… also I'll clean it myself you can really leave
Sumire : just call me annoying like you normally do and let me help
Mogami :..… thanks… ( he felt relieved)
