P A SOUND
"I apologize for the long wait. The airship will soon arrive at its destination." Beans announce on the P.A system
"It's time to wake up already" I groan. I slowly open my eyes the first thing I saw was killua sleeping close to my face on the counter next to me. I could almost feel his breath on my face cause of how close he was.
K-Killua I thought with my cheeks burning up He's so close
Then I hear killua groan as he began to wake up
He's waking up, I should pretend to sleep before he thinks I'm watching him and it becomes really awkward
I quickly shut my eyes and pretend I was asleep I hope he doesn't see me blushing.
A few moments go by and am waiting for him to leave when I feel his hand gently stroke my hair from my face to behind my ear. I feel my face heat up and my heart was pounding like crazy from the sudden action. I then felt him got up and starts walking away, I waited for a few seconds and heavily sighed lifting my head up
W-what was that about?. I thought he was going to find out I was awake. my heart was being so loud I place my hand on my chest.
Killua POV
I slowly open my eyes and saw Jasmine sleeping close to my face next to me. I then remembered I decided to sleep beside her yesterday.
I'm really close to her I thought as my cheeks turn red. I lifted my head from the counter and stared at her She looks peaceful in her sleep and without thinking I just gently stroke her hair from her face to behind her ear. I quickly pulled my hand back W-what am I doing. My hand just moved by itself. I should probably leave before she wakes up and sees me staring at her. I got up and put on my white T-shirt over my dark blue long sleeve turtleneck and began to look for Gon.
Jasmine POV
After claiming down I decided I should go look for everyone else. I saw everyone at the cafeteria eating breakfast. I saw gon and killua sitting beside the window and I went over to them.
"Good Morning Gon" I cheerfully greeted
"Good morning Jasmine" Gon waved back at me
I looked at killua who just hand his hand on his chin looking out the window. I blushed a little when I remember what happened this morning.
"Looks like we're here" he bluntly announces
We are?" I asked quickly looking out the window. It was a tall stone tower with a flat surface." That huge tower" I comment. As the airship landed on the tower we all made our way out of it but the moment I stepped foot on the tower I immediately sense all the trick doors that lead you into the tower and how the tower had a bunch of rooms inside.
Woah this really is a big tower
"Is there something wrong?" kurapika asked because I was just standing there.
"Yeah thi-"
Beans cut me off by clearing his throat for are attention then told us how to clear this phase
"Everyone, this is the site of the hunter exam third phase. You'll be competing here at the top of the trick. In order to pass this phase, you must reach the base of the tower alive. The time limit is 72 hours"
"72 Hours? That's a lot of time"
" And with that, the exam third phase will now begin. Good luck to every one of you." Beans continue. He made his way to the airship and wished us luck before we couldn't see the airship anymore.
Gon, Killua, Kurapika, leorio and I made our way to the edge of the tower and looked down
"Now what? Are we supposed to climb down?" leorio nervously asked
"Well I hope not. That would be suicide" kurapika answered
"No guys actual-"
"Sure, for most guys" some random guy chuckled from behind us cutting me off
who the heck is that
He then goes to the edge of the tower and started to climb down "For an except rock climber like me this is gonna be a piece of cake"
"Sir I don't think you're supposed to climb down" I deadpan a little
"Be quiet little girl, your just saying that so I won't be the first one to finish" He protests "Now watch as I make my way to the bottom of the tower"
I completely deadpan as he kept going down pretty fast. As he was going we heard wings flapping I looked around for the noise when a lot of huge weird looking creatures with wings and razor-sharp teeth came and ate the man
"Help me!! The man cried as the creature flew away with him in its mouth
"Well damn. I told him he wasn't supposed to climb down there" I crossed my arms
"Why, do you know a way to get down?" Kurapika asked
"Yeah, before I was interrupted I was saying that there. Trap doors all around the floor that leads us to a room" I explain
"Wait really?" leorio queried
"Yeah, I sense it the moment I stepped on the tower. Here let me show you." I make my way to a place where there 6 traps door that all lead to 1 room. they all followed behind me.
"See there 6 traps door," I said pointing at the 6 doors "and they all lead the same room. I figured that would better for us to go here so we don't get separated"
"All right then good job jasmine" leorio Congratulated
"Yeah your finally useful for something" killua whispered slightly with his hands behind his head.
"Did you say something" I grumble giving him an annoyed look
"I don't know what you're talking about" he shrugged his shoulders as he made his way to one of the trap doors
I grew a tick mark as I walked to my trap door
"On the count of three, we all hope on the same time" Leorio instructed
"Alright then. One...Two...Three." We all stepped on the trap door and it flipped over. We all landed on the ground with our feet but leorio fell face front on the ground. I then burst out laughing at the way leorio fell on his face.
"Hey, shut up!! He yelled as he rubbed his face from the pain.
I then notice Gon walking to a cylinder shape stand Against the wall. We all followed behind him as he began to read a message on the wall out loud.
"The six who drop into this chamber must find their way down together by using the majority"
I looked at the cylinder stand and saw 6 types of watches "What are these" I asked as we all grabbed one of them
"Look like their wrist timers, and it has buttons marked X and O" killua confirmed as we all wore are wrist timer
"Jasmine didn't you say earlier that there were six trap door leading to this room," Kurapika asked
"Yeah there was" I nodded
"So it might be possible that we won't leave this room until someone else drops in and joins us down here?" Kurapika speculated.
"Very good," a random voice said coming from a speaker on the wall. We quickly looked at the source of the voice and leorio screams in panic
"Who's there?!"
"My name is Lippo. I'm the prison warden here, not to mention your examiner for the third phase of the exam. We're gone to the trouble if preparing multiple routes through the tower and the one you've chosen is the path of majority rule, it's one of are harder courses. If you want to pass co-operation is the essence of success. One person acting selfishly could harm the entire group. And of course, you won't be able to start until you have six members. That's it and good luck.
"We seriously can't start until somebody else show up? Leorio sigh
"Yeah, I guess. It looks we just have to wait" I reply
We then began to wait, Gon and killua and I played games on my phone. then Gon played with killua skateboard while killua played with gon fishing pole and I continued to play on my phone while leorio and Kurapika sat and waited
"Oh, Come on!! Yelled in frustration "We've been sitting here for two hours. What if everybody else already found their way down? What are we supposed to? We can't be the only one stuck on the top."
"Calm down leorio. I still feel people on the top of the tower so we still have a chance" I assured him
"Okay, but what if the people on top there are a bunch of morans who will never come down till we reach the end of our time limits" He continues to rage.
As he was yelling I heard something knocking on top of us. Leorio stopped his raging and we all looked up to the knocking sound above us. One of the trap doors above us began to open so we all made our way to see who our sixth person may be.
"I wonder who it i-" I asked my friends, but stopped at the end of my sentence as I saw who our sixth person was. it was no other than tonpa. Everyone immediately deadpans except for gon
[Gon] "Mr. Tonpa!"
[Killua] "oh great"
[Leorio] "Look who it is"
[Jasmine] "If it isn't lying tonpa"
Tonpa chuckled nervously and made his way to where the last wrist timer was and put it on. The moment he put it on a hidden door appears with a message on it. We walked closer to the door and gon began to read the message out loud
"At this door select O to open and X not to open"
"Using majority rule already" leorio remark " Well the answer is a no brainer"
We all clicked our wrist timer for either O or X. I clicked O because why the heck would I click X not to open the door. The result came on the door that read
O=5 X=1
"What, who the hell pressed X" Leorio yelled looking at us to find out who clicked the X button
"That was me. Sorry about that. I guess I pressed the wrong button"
Leorio grabbed tonpa shirt and pulled him close, yelling at him in his face "Stop messing around old man. what, are you blind or something"
"I said it was an honest mistake" he protests
"How in the hell do you press the wrong button!" Leorio yelled more loudly
"Okay, leorio calm down. The door's open so we have to keep going" I stated
"Yeah but he pressed the wrong button on purpose. He's trying to sabotage us!"
"Yeah, I know he his but we don't have time to be fighting with him. We already lost time cause he was slow getting down here so now we gotta hurry up"
"Yeah, she right. Let him keep pressing the wrong button if he wants. the rest of us will just have to press the right one" Killua agreed as he began to walk out the door with kurapika and gon. Leorio lets go of tonpa and angrily walks out the door. I then glare at tonpa behind me.
"Tonpa I don't why you keep lying, but all I want to tell you that lying to me isn't gonna work" I snarled at him before walking ahead to my group. (I tried to think of something better )
When I met with my group it looked like we had another question we had to answer
"Which way do you want to go O for right, or X for left." Gon read out loud
We all turn are head to each path to see which one to go through but each path looked identical
"Jasmine can you sense to see which path would be harder," kurapika asked
"Yeah, but it just looks like each path identical" I answered
"Hm. Alright then" Kurapika nodded
We all then clicked on our wrist timer. The score shows up on the door again as
O=4 X=2
"Right? oh come on, don't most people always go left. U-uh what I actually meant was I'll be more comfortable going left." Leorio stuttered. Kurapika went behind leorio and pushed him forward to keep on walking. As we were walking to our next location kurapika began explaining about a research he saw
"As research shows, people who are lost tend to choose to go left more frequently than the right"
"Y'know I think I've heard that before" Killua added
"Wait a second am not the only one who chose left. Who else did" Leorio question
[killua] Right
[Kurapika] right
[Gon] right
"You little monsters" he grumbled
"Going right makes a lot of sense. The examiner will never see it coming. If they seem the same research that those two have, I bet they made the left oath way harder" Tonpa stated
"Guess we all can't be geniuses can we Jasmine." Leorio implied towards me.
I got a little startled before chuckling nervously
"I really can't be thinking like leorio," I thought while shaking my head mentally.
After walking a little while we enter a huge open room with 3 platforms. A small one we were standing on another one on the opposite side and one larger one in the middle. There was no way anyone could go over to the middle platform because there was a huge deep gap in between.
"Where the hell are we," I asked looking around
"Look over there" killua point out to the opposite side of the room.
I looked over and there were people standing there. Actually, there were standing kinda weirdly,
"Why are they standing like that" I mumbled to myself but I guess killua heard me. He was standing next to me, cause he chuckled a little.
they also had handcuffs on and we're wearing a brown cloak covering their face.
One of them began to speak, it sounded like a male's voice. "The applicants are here. Unlock my handcuffs." The handcuffs around his wrist fell off and banged against the ground, it sounded like each handcuff weigh 50 pounds.
"Here we go," The guy said removing his brown clock to reveal a muscly man of average height. He walked out to the light where we could see him better

HUNTER GLOSSARY
TONPA
"Okay everyone, let me explain". Lippo announces on the speaker. "You've probably already noticed that some of the prisoners of trick tower are standing before you."
"Prisoners?" Kurapika queried
"Not just prisoners, The Exam committee of the Hunter exams has also officially hired them all as examiners. During this section of your route, you will be fighting against all five of them. Each battle is one-on-one, and each person form each team can only fight once." Lippo continues "Use any style you like there will be no draws. To be declared the winner, you opponent must admit defeat,"
"You can decide which of you will be the first condenter. And this is majority rule, which means you need 4 wins in order to pass." The the prisoner speaks up
"See this is the reason why I wanted to go left back there" leorio complain
"There a chance that route could have been even harder" Kurapika stated
Lippo then explains how every hour we waste is how many years is cut off the prisoner's sentence. Also how their goal is to actually buy time
"Okay, I'm fighting whoever first. Now, who is it gonna be?" He smirks confidently placing his hand on his hip.
"Now what? He said to fight however we want. So I m guessing pretty much anything goes" killua added
"Hey, I'll go first" Gon volunteer
"No, I think it should be me" Kurapika protest
"Why?" Gon asked
"He obviously the type of fighter that relies on his physical strength. In hand to hand combat, you'd at a disadvantage"
"Hey wait a minute your're not that bigger than Gon" Leorio speculated.
"That's true but I have a weapon" Kurapika responded
"Yeah but if he takes it away from you you're a goner" leorio stated
Both leorio and Kurapika looked at me
"Don't look at me, just because I have powers doesn't mean I wanna fight hulk over there" I declare. How bout you go leorio since your kinda bigger than me, gon and kurapika"
He then glances and gulps his throat at the prisoner who was cracking his knuckles ready for whoever is gonna fight him.
"Well if you guys are scared then I'll go" Killua reassure
"I mean I guess if you can take him on, but you look sc-" I stopped saying my sentence when I remembered how killua was able to carry my pig from last exam
"I look what?" he raised a eyebrow
"Uh nothing actually I laughed nervously putting my hand on the back of my neck"
"Hold on let me go" tonpa declares walking in front of all of us very confident.

I placed my hand over my mouth trying not to laugh.
"I'll be the Guinea pig to see if I can figure out what they're up to. Consider it apology from earlier. Give me a chance to make up for what I've done. Let me do this."
"We can't trust you all of a sudden" leorio narrow his eyes
"I know that why I've offered to take the match. I understand it must be hard for you to trust me completely" Tonpa insisted
"It not hard it's impossible" leorio yelled
"Right, especially since I can littery tell when your lying" I crossed my arm "And you do that all the time"
"Okay, Okay let's just say the score ends up in a tie. If you don't trust me now you won't trust me later on with the tiebreaker" Tonpa declare.
"I can feel that he's lying but am not gonna stop him. If he wanna walk in his own grave so be it I smirked, and besides he does make a good point about the tiebreaker"
"I say let him go, he does make a good point" killua smirk
"Good so it's settled then" Tonpa exclaim
A bridge began forming on the side of the platform making a way for tonpa and the prisoner to cross to go to the big middle platform for there battle. Once both of them made their way to the platform the inmate began to speak
"Now then, let's determine the method of combat. My choice would be a fight to the death"
All of our eyes widened by the type of match
"A deathmatch?" gon queried
"This is bad. Don't let him provoke you, Tonpa!" Kurapika yelled
"What do you say?" the prisoner asked
"To the death, then! Let's go" tonpa declare getting into a fighting stance
"Woah, guys maybe tonpa is actually stronger than we thought. He Has, tried the hunter exam 35 times" I stated looking at tonpa and the prisoner
"Maybe your right" kurapika agreed
As they were all in their fighting stance. The inmate immediately rushed towards tonpa. He was closing in on tonpa when tonpa immediately got on his knees and gave up
"I give up!"
We all stood there with shock blank faces
[Killua] "Huh?"
Leorio] "What?"
[Gon] "Did he just say that he gives up?"
[Jasmine] "Uh, maybe we heard that wrong"
"What did you say?" the prisoner queried
"I said I admit defeat. That means you win, right? So I give up. I lose Tonpa nervously chuckles
Both me and leorio grew a bunch of tick marks on our forehead. The prisoner then began laughing at tonpa "All right. Guess the first round goes to me, then. If we win another two rounds, that's it you all fail the exam. You can't advance and you can turn back. You'll be stuck here for the next 72 hours until the exam is over. And if that happens our sentences will be reduced by a grand total of 72 years" he then began to laugh as he walks back to the other teammates and tonpa walk back to us.
"Sorry guys I didn't mean to let you down. He looked a hell of a lot tougher when I got up close" Tonpa said smiling nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck.
My eyes turn white with rage cause he kept on lying after he just purposely lost. I raised my arm up a little bit and pulled out a big boulder from the ground and raised it over on tonpa. He looked really scared as he looked above him
"Tonpa why shouldn't I crush you with this big rock right now"
"Okay okay you got me, I don't care about passing the hunter exam. I'm only here for the thrills
"The thrills?"
"Yep, The hunter exam is a proving ground design to crush the dreams of the young and overconfident. And that moment, when hope and ambition give way to absolute despair. I get a kick out of that. The joy I feel is just exquisite. Especially when I'm the one crushing the newbie's dreams. They nothing like that rush. I've no desire to be a hunter. Doesn't really interest me. And I've already had enough fun for this year. Besides, I usually stop at this point anyway."
I grew tick mark on my face and smiled in annoyance "You know tonpa for someone who has a big boulder on top of you ready to crush you, you talk very boldly"
I threw the boulder over tonpa head and into the big gap in between each platform. It made a low bang as it hits the floor
"Your lucky I didn't crush you but don't worry karma will come back to bite you" I crossed my arms
Another prisoner came out of the darkness and got realised from his handcuff. He removed his brown clock and revealed and very thin guy with a part of his hair covering his eye
"Alright we need to win the next rounds" kurapika declare
"So, who wants to go next?" leorio asked
"Me! I'll give it a try" Gon raised his hand
"Are you sure?" leorio queried
"Yeah"
"Well, the next opponent doesn't look too strong" killua stated as he observed the prisoner
"I wouldn't let my guard down if I were you. He still a criminal no telling what he's capable of" Leorio added
"Yeah I'll be careful" Gon assured as he places his back bag down
"Good luck gon" I cheered
"Thanks" Gon said as he walked to the middle platform
[Jasmine] Next time, Beware of Prisoners.
